We had such a wonderful experience at Tuscan Hills on 2/11 for Restaurant Week! I took my father-in-law and fiancé out for dinner, and from the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the evening, and the host was absolutely amazing — warm, welcoming, and engaging. A special touch that really elevated the night was when the host personally cut open the Caciucco alla Livornese tableside, adding a bit of flair and making the experience feel even more authentic and memorable. For appetizers, we shared the pane al pomodoro, insalata di campo, and arancini (ham and peas over fresh tomato sauce). Each dish was delicious. The pane al pomodoro was fresh and vibrant, the insalata di campo was crisp and beautifully dressed, and the arancini were perfectly crisp on the outside with a flavorful, savory filling that paired wonderfully with the tomato sauce. For our entrées, I had the eggplant rigatoni (Rigatoni alla Norma), which was outstanding — perfectly cooked pasta, tender eggplant, and a rich, balanced sauce that brought everything together beautifully. My father-in-law and fiancé both ordered the Caciucco alla Livornese, and they couldn’t stop raving about it. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the broth was deeply flavorful, and the presentation (especially with the tableside touch) made it even more special. We paired dinner with a Sauvignon Blanc called The Little Sheep, which was crisp, refreshing, and complemented the seafood and pasta perfectly. Dessert was the perfect ending to the meal — cannoli with a creamy, lightly sweet filling and crisp shells, a rich and indulgent pistachio cheesecake, and a silky panna cotta that was smooth and delicately flavored. Overall, Tuscan Hills delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Between the outstanding food, thoughtful service, and welcoming atmosphere, it was a perfect Restaurant Week dinner. We will absolutely be back!
I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The service was friendly and just the right amount attentive to myself and the other guests. The food was amazing. I recommend the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. The pizza is amazing, crust is perfect. I had the Tuscan hills pizza with mushrooms buratta and truffle oil.
I don't usually comment on the restaurants. but this restaurant is the best Italian restaurant around the neighborhood! I can't recommend this place enough! owners are friendly and the food? Forget about it! try the any pasta dishes here and you will not be regretted! and pizzas are amazing too! if you want to have a nice dinner with your family, your spouse, or your friends. it doesn't matter! you will be very happy with the food and the drinks here!
Extremely friendly staff. We are regulars here and have had the pleasure to get to know the staff and learn some of the nuances of their dishes. They are pretty busy over the weekend but we rarely had to wait long for a table for two. In this photo you can see a pizza that we enjoyed but I am also a fan of their eggplant dish served with a side of pasta (also a good vegetarian option). I can't speak highly enough of this spot. If you come on a Tuesday or Wednesday then you can also enjoy the ambiance at your leisure.
Food is heavy and delicious. Service can be amazing. Atmosphere is a little charming. I enjoy their food. Especially their specialty with the seafood with a baked bread. Service is good. They are always changing our dishes and the food comes fast. Ambiance can be great. Easy on the ear to talk.
The waitress was great, she was very friendly and didn't judge my order. I sat in an area that was a little dirty because some kids had just ran the place unbeknownst to me. The waitress came told me the deal and cleaned everything. The restaurant is very clean, including the bathroom. For my starter, I had a Forest Hills Martini. It consists of Grey goose vodka and peach juice along with another type of juice and a maraschino cherry. It's not appealing to the eye but tastes amazing. Then I had the Caesar Salad which tasted the same as anywhere else except the croutons were toasted a little harder. Then I had the complementary bread. I never had bread with olives mashed up in olive oil before. It went well together and I would definitely get that again. Then I had the chicken with mushrooms dish. I don't like mushrooms so I told her to tell the cook not to put them in, but she said it would change the flavor. I told her that I didn't care and when it came it was good. The Panna cotta was amazing and I never had that before either. It tastes a little less sweet than sweetened condensed cream but also hardened into a flan like consistency. They put strawberries and bluberries around it with whipped cream. This place is a high recommend.
My go-to Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. I love their pistachio martini(smooth&creamy) & tiramisu(moist). My friend and I would always get the seafood soup dish wrapped in side a piece of bread, called Cacciucco. It feels very light and healthy! And the taste is so good. You can choose portion for 1 or 2 people.
I love this place! Anytime I come I feel very welcomed. Service is great. Friendly staff and very attentive. I’m vegan and the server was very careful to write down no dairy, eggs or meat :) They have great prefix option if you’re plant based too. The spaghetti primavera and the minestrone 😋 delicious! They’re also always so accommodating of my service dog. They’re very polite :) I would totally recommend this restaurant
Went here for a ceasar salad and was not disappointed. The chicken is $8+ but it's seasoned with fresh herbs and is definitely worth it. The dressing tasted so fresh and like it was made in house. The french fries were too thick for my liking. The calamari was so well seasoned and I definitely recommend!
Recently had late lunch at this restaurant with a friend. We had their $14.95 prix fixe which comes with an entree, drink and salad (or soup). The location was nearly empty, with a lot of available seating. Tables and floors were clean. The tables were neatly presented. We were able to place our orders within a few minutes of sitting down. My order arrived hot. The ziti with Beef was delicious. The Caesar salad tasted fresh and crisp. Our server was friendly and efficient.
I like this place, it’s quaint and wholesome. The place is a little worn down but I guess that’s the charm of it. The restrooms are suspect and not clean for the two times I’ve been there, my wife did not like that at all. First time I went the food was AMAZING.. we ordered a Buffalo Mozzarella cheese Stuffed ravioli in a pesto olive oil sauce. That was amazing very tasteful not too salty. My son had a personal Pan pizza and my daughter had Plain fettuccine With crispy chicken. They bring out really good bread with a salty dipping oil. It seems like it was like Minced black olives with Olive oil, That was really good salty but tasteful. One thing I really gotta give to them that I haven’t Mentioned is their incredibly delicious tiramisu.. It was creamy perfect sweetness melts in your mouth 10 out of 10. And I’m gonna tell you something I am not a big fan of tiramisu, but this was just amazing. The bill wasn’t crazy But after going home, we saw that the waitress double charged us for two orders of Fettuccine. I mean it was $14 extra. I was a little peeved, but I got over it. The second time I went there, I ordered the Penne à la vodka with sautéed chicken And my wife ordered the chicken Parm with penne pasta. My dish was OK but my wife’s dish was terrible. The chicken was way overdone and rubbery, and the cheese on top didn’t taste too good. I’ll probably won’t come back here for a while maybe a year or two. But overall, I highly advise to try the stuffed Ravioli with buffalo mozzarella.
This place was just ok in my opinion. I got a fettuccine dish with spicy sauce and shrimp. I didn't expect it to come with baby shrimp. My friend got gnocchi. She substituted the sausage for chicken. We got an appetizer similar to caprese but it was named something else on the menu. The bread on the table was served with an olive oil that had tapanade in it. It was tasty and salty in a good was. My dish tasted good, had a good amount of spice but I like spicy food. For people who are not into spicy it would have been too spicy. Service was ok. The bill was about $86 & we gave more money because we wanted to give a 22% tip but needed the change to do it and when the brought the change back they decided to keep the amount of tip they wanted. We had to ask for all the change so we could leave the amount we wanted. I wasn't a fan of the decor, but other people like it. The place just seemed worn down. When we walked in there was a small trash can by the door the was overflowing with trash. Not a good look upon entry. I wouldn't go back.
We ordered three items from the menu and were pretty disappointed overall. The calamari was overcooked, rubbery, lacked flavor, and didn’t come with marinara. The rice balls were missing the ham, had barely any peas, and tasted off. The ravioli were decent and the sauce was okay, but the chicken was overcooked and the ravioli were mostly dry. It’s a shame to have spent around $80 and not enjoyed a nice Italian meal.
As a business owner myself, I rarely leave negative reviews and only do so when it truly feels warranted. I emailed the owner directly, expressing how surprised I was by both the presentation and the overall quality of the eggplant parm hero I received. My message was polite and constructive. I offered honest, gentle feedback in hopes it might help improve their presentation and product quality for future customers. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing enough that I won’t be returning and I couldn’t not tell him why that was in good conscience in hopes he could prevent losing future customers. What I had hoped for, at the very least, was an acknowledgment or an apology. But this owner took no accountability and exhibited a total lack of professionalism. So here I am, leaving a review with a photo of my atrocious eggplant parm hero. Eggplant, barely anything on it, literally looks like he fished it out of the garbage. I guess they’re really penny pinching when it comes to the lunch specials.
This restaurant will be my first and last time ever coming! I never felt so disrespected. I arrived with my wife well before the grace period. The restaurant over books people and there’s only one person serving the food we noticed. There was nobody to greet at the front door which is a red flag (looks like the restaurant is cutting back on costs) we waited another additional 10 minutes. We were told to wait without any explanation how long. First impressions are extremely important. When I took the express bus I used to see this restaurant all the time. I should have been looking at Portofino instead. We ended up walking out and going to Portofino where we had a fabulous time. There was someone to greet us at the front. The tables were also clothed. Tuscan Hills is a disgrace to Italian restaurants!
Ordered the Chicken Tuscan for take out. 90% rigatoni with the minuscule amount of chicken being very hard, dry, and flavorless. The other ingredients mentioned in the menu, mushroom and sun dried tomatoes, were in an even shorter supply. Offensively stingy for a $24 pasta. Not even a large portion of rigatoni. An absurd lack of value for the price.
