After enjoying the Hahamongna trails one afternoon, we stumbled upon this gem. It is a family-owned business with a calm, chill vibe and great food. We ordered the yuzu spritzer, fried chicken meal, spicy chicken wrap, and three sides (coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and a seasonal cauliflower and carrot salad) for dine-in, plus the Nutella bread pudding to go. The yuzu spritzer was refreshing and the perfect amount of sweet (though we would have loved just a touch more carbonation). The fried chicken, both in the wrap and as a meal, was crispy and well-seasoned. The real stars were the sides—our favorite was the seasonal cauliflower and carrot salad. It featured an assortment of roasted vegetables, including cauliflower and carrots. We could have easily eaten a bucket of it. The mashed potatoes—garlicky and made with yellow Yukon potatoes—was delicious, and I appreciated that the coleslaw wasn’t too heavy or slathered in dressing. We would love to come back to try their spicy chicken sandwich and the seasonal watermelon salad. As for the take-home bread pudding, the staff recommended warming it up before adding the powdered sugar and Nutella drizzle. We topped it with some homemade whipped cream, and it was delicious—comforting, satisfying, and not overly sweet. Recommend you check this place out.
The best fried chicken I've had in a long time! So tender and the breading was amazing! The salad was fresh and delicious as was the chipotle max salad. I'll be back!
I came here with the hopes I could get a decent breakfast. This place makes some of the best fried chicken I’ve had since my granny’s kitchen! It’s so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spice level is perfect! Not too salty, which I love. It’s great adding some hot sauce to spice it up. Their mac n cheese is so bomb and cheesy, and their salad are refreshing. It’s def hipster, but if you can get past that, come here for a breath of fresh air!

The store is newly opened, so it's clean and the staff is friendly. The donuts are not too sweet, trendy, and the dough is moist and delicious. I'm having fun picking out donuts from this shop two or three times a week.
Great, delicious chicken, garlic potatoes, and salads. This place is kept very clean and shiny! Great menu with many choices of sides and drinks. We absolutley loved the sweet cole slaw!!! Mom and I split one dinner with two breasts and two sides, and still had leftovers. Check out their extensive menu. And the pies for dessert are scrumptious!!! We got key lime pie. So good! I give the whole place five stars. Very efficiently run and the young people running it do a great job! The chicken ia perfectly cooked and tender inside. And they have honey you can put on yourself. You order at the counter and then they prepare it and you pick it all up on a tray. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't crowded so we were quite happy. I have been here a few times when it was full of people and kids and was quite hectic. Best to leave for dinner early if you like it less busy. But it closes a bit early on Sunday and we were delighted to find it quiet and nice.
I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches... I mean like a lot… Like top 2% of people I know. And this spot is one of the best! Top 2 I think ever. I recommend adding hot sauce and honey to the firebird. I will be back! Also had their pecan pie, it was great!
Modern flavours, with traditional dishes. The sprouts were excellent along with the Firebird burger / sandwich. Certainly would go again as each component felt very though out, and the cooking was executed to a high standard. Staff were lovely. Parking out back.

Delicious options, everything I've tried has been great. I especially like the convenience of being able to grab a quick yogurt parfait or baked item, in addition to being able to sit down and having a hot meal. Their breakfast burrito is humongous, plan to share or make it two meals. Their egg salad sandwich is excellent. Overall very large selection, and in addition to typical cafe drink offerings, they have fresh juice and beer/wine. The staff are so friendly and have great hospitality.
Surprisingly good southern cuisine. The chicken was other worldly good and the Mac-n-Cheese was also enjoyable. The restaurant temperature was too cool for my taste but the staff was accommodating when made them aware of an elderly person in our party.
Anytime I’m in the neighborhood I make sure to stop by here. The firebird sandwich is delicious, I love love love the burrito for brunch with fried chicken inside and you can’t go wrong with the banana cream pie.

The chicken and waffles is a must try! The waffle is buttery soft the chicken is perfectly seasoned and moist. My partner had the spicy Honeybird and could not say enough good things about it. & the Mac salad - get it as your side - It’s fantastic!! I tried to figure out what was in it to make at home. The service was great other than I ordered cold brew & although I usually like it without cream and sugar- I was never offered any and their cold brew was slightly bitter. Everything else was excellent!
This is one of those original fried chicken places, before you can get fried chicken in every corner. They serve crispy chicken, sides, sandwiches and mighty good pies. The collard greens and Mac and cheese are pretty delicious. The chipotle macaroni salad has a nice kick and the watermelon salad is light and refreshing. The bacon and chive biscuits come with a sweet butter and is one of the best biscuits I’ve ever had.

We had a follow up question regarding ingredients after we got home; the staff was well trained and well informed. They were able to guide us immediately. It should be noted that the Mac and cheese, and the fried chicken do contain eggs. We got the mash, and collard greens. All were solid! Clean and modern interior. Kind and attentive staff. Pretty quick form order to ready for take out! Parking in the rear (small lot), or curbside out front (on foothill). Clear deli style view of the sides.
Honeybird has been on my list for over a year. I’m So glad we tried it finally. It’s a super casual and cute cafe with a good menu of fried chicken and soutgwe style food. I got the Honeybird classic sandwich and my husband got the three peice with potatoes and Collard greens. We both left full and satisfied. Nice ambience and customer service too! Fair prices and it was yum!
This place was delicious and an awesome experience from start to finish. The staff were very kinda and patient while I viewed their menu to order. Ordered a chicken breast, 6 loaded biscuits, and a chicken sandwhich. Everything was great! I would definitely come back here again if in the area and I highly recommend thet your try it yourself if you're considering it.
Food was above average but not great. The chicken reminded me of the chicken you get off of a Chinese buffet but fresher and with more flavor. 3 piece with 2 sides will set you back about $15 bucks. Mashed was on point but collard greens were ok/
Stopped here after visiting Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. The restaurant was highly recommended on Google and only 5 minutes away from the gardens. The atmosphere was very chill, the restaurant was clean, and we were greeted upon entry. I ordered the 2 piece meal which came with two pieces of chicken (I ordered a leg and thigh) and two choices of sides (I ordered mashed potatoes and collard greens). The food was fresh, the chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The mashed potatoes were delicious 😋. My only problem was the collard greens 😔; they were too sweet for my taste (I prefer my greens to be a little bitter) If it weren't for the sweet greens, I for sure would've given 5 stars as opposed to 4. I also wasn't crazy about paying $7 for two biscuits Yes, they were pretty big size and very good but it would have been nice if they came with the meal...but that's just my personal opinion. 😉 Overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely go back. 😊

This isn’t Southern food and whatever it is, is just bad. No idea what’s going on with all the positive reviews. This food is BAD. I got the “country” chicken brunch plate and french toast- both incredibly dry, bland at best, and a total waste of $40. I had to send the first plate of chicken back for not even tasting cooked. There is no way anyone cooking this has ever even had real Southern food. I really do not recommend this place

Ordered two plates of chicken and waffles for dine-in... I can't believe how bad the food was 🤢! The waffles were dry as a bone, and the fried chicken looked (and tasted) like it was cooked last week and reheated in an air fryer. I feel like this place used to be good? What the hell happened?

We stopped here after a long day of hiking to have some southern food. Nothing about their signature chicken and sides was good. Mashed potatoes tasted like they had been on stove all day, worst collard greens I’ve ever had (incredibly sweet), and average cole slaw. For half a chicken I got a wing that looks like it came from a chick and the thigh had red veins which was sort of gross. I would go elsewhere
