I love bookstore-slash-bars so Anaïs (named after Anaïs Nin) was on my list for a while. This was more of a bar with books for sale than a true bookstore. Though I did spot one person reading alone at a table but most people were in pairs (for the most part, it didn’t seem to be a “book bar” in the settle-in-and-read sense). I’m a huge Henry Miller fan (I first discovered Nin through reading about Miller) and there were both his books and Nin’s books on display (and for sale). I came in around 5:30 on a Tuesday evening. It was bustling but not packed, and we lucked out with the last open spot for a group of four or five (a high-top table). Definitely appreciated that service was relaxed and friendly. They weren’t pushy about ordering more rounds and didn’t try to upsell (appreciate that a lot given how breathing-down-your-neck some plcaes are these days.) We just had olives, bread, and a couple drinks each. There was a magic show at 7 and they let us know beforehand that if we wanted to stay past then it’d be $15/head (we instead went to the sister restaurant Rucola which is one of my favorite spots).

I really enjoyed my time here! This is the perfect date night spot with friends or a partner, with so many wine and cocktails options. Service was amazing and the restaurant was so lovely, with candles and a very romantic setting for the evening. I was not the biggest fan of the appetizers/ shared plates. We ordered the white fish which is ground up fish with potato chips and we ordered the cheese and bread. I was not a fan but would come back just for drinks.

A very well curated wine list. A delicious variety of snacks. Cordial and extremely knowledgeable staff. Neighborhood vibes on a residential street. Any and details regarding the wine, just ask Joseph Signa!

A wine bar for any occasion, in my opinion! Splitting a bottle with friends, date night tucked away in a cozy corner, or sitting outside on a sunny day with a glass of wine and some snacks. Went for a free collage night and it was the perfect girls night out.

Popped in on a Friday for some wine before dinner. Very friendly staff and a unique selection of wines! Also a very cozy, comfortable space with a couple tables outside in the summer

Glad to see this new spot in the neighborhood. It’s a beautiful space, small but very cozy, and the wine is really good. They don’t have much food, just small snacks and small bites, but you should expect much from a wine bar. The acoustics need a little work because you end up yelling when the place is really full, but overall a fun and great experience. I’d definitely be back!

Laid-back chic cafe/bar with outside tables. Sat out in the sun drinking a really good coffee and a delicious gluten-free lemon drizzle cake. Nice ambience & friendly staff

Limited wine selection by the glass, but a well edited list. Same with food — not a lot of options, but they’re all good options. Had the labneh crudités platter — a light delight. Tried a nice rose sparkling wine and another orange wine — both great. Vibe inside was lively but chill.

Glorious homage and basecamp to the current French wave that has rolled over Brooklyn. Fantastic food and wine. Bread and butter and pate have different bread options. By the glass menu a bit anemic, but you can always buy a bottle, have them recork it, and take it home.

Cannot recommend Anais more - we hosted a baby shower here, and it was wonderful. The staff was super helpful, and our party couldn't stop drinking their delicious wines. All around great vibe - don't skip on the dips

Anais is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. The wine selection is thoughtful and always has something new and exciting to try. The vibe is warm, intimate, and never pretentious. The staff is genuinely welcoming and knowledgeable—they make the experience feel special every time. Highly recommend.

Had such an incredible experience here. Joseph too such great care of us and was incredibly knowledgeable about their wine offerings. He recommended 3 great options for us and our shared bites were delicious as well. Definitely worth a night out for a wine and bite night.

Anaïs is the perfect spot for any occasion; whether it’s coffee with an old friend, a wine night with the girls, or hosting someone special from out of town. I used to live closer and miss the atmosphere and staff dearly. The wine list is incredibly thoughtful and delicious, curated through time spent learning directly from French winemakers. If you’re in the area, Anaïs is an absolute must-go!

Stopped by here on a weekend afternoon since I happened to be in the area and wanted to grab a drink. The place was pretty packed, with almost all the tables taken. The vibe and interior had a cool atmosphere and felt pretty nice. I ordered a dirty martini and a beer, but the beer bottle was super slim compared to others, so the portion felt a bit small. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you live around here.

Delightful little neighborhood place. Definitely gets busy and loud, but the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. My friend and I tried their two orange wine-by-the-glass offerings; I had the Lirondo and it tasted a bit like a cider! Very good.

Lo and behold, the attached image of the $20 dollar cheeseboard. Chunks and boulders of simple cheeses. To eat those pieces without a single piece of bread would be debilitating for the senses. For $20, the plate of simple Costco cheeses couldn’t even come with any bread… if you’re going to serve cheese without any sort of bread base to dilute the taste and texture, at least slice it thinner so that it’s more palatable. If I wanted to eat cheddar like that, I might as well buy Cheez-Its. The only good part was the honey with honeycomb. But even then they were skimpier about it than Victoria’s Secret underwear. Atmosphere is loud if that’s what you like. Service was ok. Didn’t feel much care in the communication. Wine serving was poured straight up without allowing a taste test. Not that I know a thing about wine, but I would know if I liked something enough to warrant consuming a larger volume of it. Anyways, I do not digress. 3 stars only. I would go lower had the waitress not realized the folly of the cheeseboard and gave 3 slices of bread they were guarding with their lives. Plot twist, bread wasn’t even that great…

Was excited to try this spot and it was a total let down. Wine by the glass is just ok in terms of selection. Mine was served in a glass that resembled a snifter, which was strange. Food was also just ok - got the Camembert and both it and the bread were stale. $60 for two glasses of wine and a small plate of cheese.
