Kris at the door. He’s got the coolness
wonderful atmosphere and reasonable prices. love this place
This is one of those places where magic happens. It’s clearly a roulette: it gets very packed, and sometimes it’s hard to get your drink fast, but hey! I’ve had the greatest adventures here. I’ve met so many interesting people, had the best accidental dates. I even met Margaret Qualley here, and on my birthday I had Matt Smith at my table before we all went to karaoke with friends. Its one of my favorite NYC places.
Great stop in for a cocktail and I could see it being a good date night spot. Bartenders were legit and the music was great.
Sara(sp) and Jason are truly great bartenders. hard to find here. proper, they stir a martini, fast and really cool.
World famous hangout popular with hot people. Bartender Chris is well know for his great attitude and general ability to make sure everyone is having a pleasant time. I recommend…everything. Treat yourself to the glow of a Canal street sunset at dusk or enjoy a seat at the bar, devouring the eye candy that are the patrons. Feeling lonely? Turn to your right or left and start chatting. Didn’t make a friend? That’s okay — there’s literally a hundred and sixty people around you to talk to. Hey you! Only one person in the bathroom at a time, haha! None of those shenanigans here! It’s like that show cheers but with solid New York 8’s.
We have not yet entered the bar but from the looks of things on the outside window got about 50 people here everyone seems to be having a good time to gamble couple disco balls and some fans ceiling fans At three people behind the bar and all sorts of drinks some nice vintage photos of this neighborhood division Street exit is Christopher there’s très bien à deux Stéphane안녕하세요 Christophers there Gambling the taps seem clean and there is a warm glow of candle light this evening might be an early one for me but these moments shared with close friends will be enjoyed. bella is buying me a drink a glass of wine joe is eating chips lays , yum!
Fun but sweaty spot- service a little slow
love this place! one of the guys bartending would rather chat w/ his friends then serve drinks but the lady bartending was wonderful
Incredibly packed on a Wednesday night of all times. Very limited seating and standing if it’s full, and it fills up pretty fast. Service was good, one bartender was having a conversation with a friend for a long time which contributed to the slow service a bit. Employees seem well trained otherwise, they did pretty great considering only 2 out of 3 of them were serving at least 50 people in a tiny place. Very much a hipster spot, older millennial/Gen X friendly bar. Way too expensive of course but it’s New York.
Was a nice scene. Had good outdoor seating and as the weather was nice it was great. Besides that, everything I seemed to ask for they were sold out of, both food and wine. We only arrived at 8:00 and it was still open for another few hours. Ended up getting a snack but it was okay. Besides that, could come here again but only for a drink.
I don't do this often, especially as a Bartender, but I'm front loading my experience because the service is systemically pathetic. I was there tonight and they had 3 staff on, all about my age(Mid-Late 30s) and similarly clean cut looking. I stood for 10 minutes with a $20 in my hand trying to get a beer and I'm sober, no drinks yet and asked a few times at a natural volume,"Hey, can I order a drink from you" and just got totally ignored. The bar is decently full but seldom few people ordering drinks. The staff make no eye contact, no verbal cues, nothing regarding body language. They're just really bad at being two barmen and a one bar woman. They reserved a super drunk quartette and bee lined to another group. One guy who was not a bar back, just kept stacking glasses and talked to the other bartender. The other thing is there complete lack of eye contact and general awareness of the bar is weird and it's not good for any place to have zero observation of the room for a variety of reasons. Don't drink here if you're out with people and or if you want norms in service. I know I left and went elsewhere.
The bouncer was unnecessarily aggressive, rude and unkind. Seems to be on some kind of power trip.
Denied Entry to My Service Dog “No Dogs Allowed” I was very disappointed by my experience at this place. As soon as I arrived, the bouncer immediately said, “no dogs allowed,” and he blocked the door with his leg. I didn’t even get a chance to speak or explain that my dog is a trained service animal protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Terrible treatment
The bouncer was extremely rude. He said he would not let me in because I did not look old enough? I am 24 years old showed him my id, my passport , and all of my credit cards that matched. I told him he should scan my id if he was worried and he refused. He then said I didn’t look cool enough and didn’t match the vibe. I have never been insulated trying to get a drink. This was a horrible an experience of a bar I loved. Such a shame
if i could give this bar zero stars i would. in hindsight, we should’ve looked at the reviews before coming to see all the 1 star reviews this place has. the bar is extremely busy with two bartenders (not the issue) & my friend ordered drinks for us with one of the bartenders. when we finally got a seat at the bar (almost 20 minutes later) we didn’t know if our drinks were made so my friend asked the other bartender to make us drinks. first bartender (weirdo with a beanie) comes with our drinks and my friend tells him to cancel the other ones we just ordered… maybe that was a mistake because the way this beanie weirdo started berating my friend for “wasting alcohol” and talked down on her like she was a child was unprofessional and rude. when it came to pay OBVIOULSY we weren’t leaving a tip, the bartender came back after awhile and was complaining about not leaving a tip… he literally started arguing with us at the bar until my friend had to say “i’m done with this conversation”. anyways we were trying to finish our drinks and enjoy our company together and the SAME BARTENDER just takes our unfinished drinks off the bar and says, “no”. he gives us a refund and tells us to leave… what’s type of backwards service is this. if you want to enjoy drinks by man babies and certified mansplainers who are on a constant power trip, this is the place for you!
I would give 0 stars if I could. Bartender was one of the rudest individuals I have ever come across in nyc. Don’t work in the service industry if you don’t like interacting with people!!!! Came here for my BIRTHDAY as I live in the neighborhood and my bf ordered a soda water, which he charged him 2 dollars for. My bf pulls out his card and the bartender said there was a $15 minimum. We asked if he would just accept the charge as we didn’t have cash. Daniel (I think the bartenders name) didn’t respond but grabbed the soda water out of my bfs hand and dumped it. He then grabbed the WATER out of my hand and dumped it. Excuse me... WHAT? Who does that. I’m 28 years old and have never been treated like that, especially on my birthday!! I then took a photo of him, which he freaked out about and kicked us out. This guy in the stripped shirt should be fired, don’t work in service.
