I rented the event space, Haus on Hanson, for a birthday party. The space was lovely and perfect for our group (~25 people but could have easily fit many more), the staff was responsive and attentive, and the beer and food was excellent! It was a perfect evening and I would definitely recommend it for any occasion.
Bought the whole place for a party. The owner Randi was great and very easy to work with. Food was great and kept coming. Everyone had plenty of beer and many tried several. I went back for more chicken schnitzel at lunch before leaving town. Not disappointed. Going back when next in Brooklyn!
This is one of my favorite spots when the weather is nice. The food is great and cheap. They make fresh steaming hot pretzels here. Food seems authentic too, although I wouldn't really know. Beer is expensive at first glance but when you notice the size of the glasses and the alcohol content you realize you're getting a bargain. It gets really noisy inside tho, and check to see if they're showing a game before you go.
One of my favorite spots in the entire city. Great neighborhood restaurant with amazing beer. Great staff. Victor always treats us like family. Great spot to have multiple beers, a schnitzel and play board games.
I love coming here for trivia on Wednesday's. They have an excellent variety of German beer in interesting glasses, tasty pretzels, brats, and other foods. There's a strong sense of community here. The servers are very welcoming and friendly, and trivia is always a blast! Shout-out to Trivia Joe for being a fun, kind, and engaging host.
Our go-to spot whenever we are in this part of Brooklyn. Their currywurst on a pretzel bun is a must. They have great outdoor seating when the weather is nice and their beer list is the best. Love coming here on a date or with friends. Great spot!
As a fan of German beer and a vegetarian this place is awesome. It's great for hanging out with friends and has larger tables so you can sit 6-8 comfortably. It gets a bit loud at times but the beer, veggie options, and good service will keep me coming back.
I've really liked DSK for a long time. It was a great date night spot years ago, and now my wife and I love stopping by and parking the stroller during the day. It has the best drafts in the neighborhood (although Black Forrest down the block is a fine rival) and the schnitzel is great for lunch. The hot pretzel is also fantastic.
Had a great time watching the Knicks win! Service was great in spite of a hectic cheering environment and pretzel and currywurst were good.
Great beer and great food. It's hard to go wrong with a spot like this. The people are extremely nice and also can give you beer recommendations based on what you're feeling. You need to get a brat and the pretzles. The mustard is phenomenal and overall it was a really nice experience. Also, the music they play is fun and good for all audiences.
The thing that’s great about this bar is the seating, and general volume of the place. It’s busy, but you and your pals can find a seat and chat deep into the night without straining your vocal chords by yelling super loudly through overwhelming bar music. I love the vibe here, and the sprawling beer selection is a nice touch ;)
Great place for an outdoor beer or cider right now! Tables are well spaced out & cleaned often. Outdoor ordering through the window in the back. Also great when its fully open, but really appreciating their outdoor layout right now as so many other places are too tight.
Absolutely delicious food!! I had the pretzel brat with the Zeitgeist topping, and it was absolutely fantastic!! My friend had the sausage platter, and the kielbasa was amazingly flavorful!! For the money, you can’t beat the deals - on the food OR the German-sourced beers!! Give it a try!!
The interior layout supports the super social communal experience. It makes for an ultra cool vibe to see and be seen.
I could be influenced by the beautiful weather when I visited and sat outside, but I enjoyed the reissdorf kölsch with brezel with obazda. Obazda is new to me and I always enjoy discovering a new food. I can also recommend the LKW, do add the obazda and caramelised onions. The currywurst was just ok however.
Best atmosphere. Real local bar. Fort Greene’s living room. Staff is kind and knowledgeable. We would never think of going anywhere else in the neighborhood.
I'm connected to this place since they opened as I live nearby. In German beer garden tradition, it's become a neighborhood staple, always good for a light meal and good beer. A great place to hangout, maybe catch a World Cup game or find a spot for a quiet conversation. You're never rushed. Indoor, outdoor and window seating are available. Service is reliable as are the drinks.
Good food. Reasonable prices. Surprisingly casual place though with paper plates and plastic fork. They were blasting Latin music all night for some reason. I dont need to see lederhosen, but a little more german touch in the atmosphere would be nice.
Great for groups and dining solo or as a pair. Lots of beers, several cider options, and food is delicious. Can get crowded but don’t really need a reservation.
Great authentic menu choices. Awesome staff and service. Feel like a proper beer hall.
Yum yum yum! Super cute and cozy inside, they were playing Grimes for like an hour straight which to me was just perfect. I got the schnitzel and it was soooo delicious, although the potato pancakes were good but not spectacular (fries were just perfect tho). Definitely don’t plan ur night around the advertised times, they seem to close before midnight if it’s a slow night/a weeknight. Overall, incredibly charming and cozy place to drink 3-5 beers with your loved one and eat delicious food, would highly recommend to anyone looking for well-curated beer in a friendly environment :).
The restaurant delivers exactly what reviewers praise. Staff members are entertaining, warm, and focused. Every staff member helps appropriately, and every dish tastes fresh and good. The meal quality and atmosphere worked in harmony. You need to sample this restaurant soon.
This spot leaves nothing missing. Everything aligned perfectly. Leave room for their exceptional dessert options. Workers here maintain impressive service levels. Visit this restaurant and you won't regret it.
This place is always solid. Have been going here since before the pandemic and I'm so glad it survived. It is truly a gem and makes you feel like you are in a true German beer garden. Food is great, beers are even better.
I came here not too long ago with some friends and I was blown away with how comfortable the environment was. The food we ordered was so delicious and the cider, doc hard apple cider, hit the spot. Their goulash is to die for!! I was literally able to cut through my beef with just a single plastic fork. Absolutely amazing and their potato pancakes are crispy and flavorful. It’s decently priced and family friendly as well!! We also tried their Mac and cheese which was very tasty and different from the one I’m used to but I would definitely order it again. Apple strudel was flaky and moist, something kids will love for sure!
Favorite German beer hall in the area! Good selection of beers and wine, fun atmosphere, great service and food! They have trivia night every Wednesday, board games to play, fussball table, big comfy loungey couches, communal tables etc. Fun bar! I also LOVE that they have vegan sausage option on their menu!! I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in the area!
Great atmosphere and menu. My partner is German and vouches for the authenticity. Not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon, relaxed, considerate and on the ball service, good variety of beers and sausages. Vegan options as well. Reasonable prices for NY, not exactly a steal but not marked up.
May -2021 - We took our son, daughter-in-law and our grandkids to this enjoyable German establishment. The outdoor spot was fantastic for the kids and for people watching! Our authentic German food, Schnitzel, Wiesswurst, Bratwurst and Sauerkraut reminded us of the days we lived in the Rheinland-Pfalz. Everything was so delicious. Phoebe who manned the window taking orders and Paco waiting on the tables outside were both amazing employees. Thanks so much DSK for a memorable experience. We hope to come back another day when we visit our kiddos in Brooklyn.
This is an amazing place! German Beer Garden in the Heart of Fort Greene. The outdoor seating was perfect on this hot summer eve. Our waiter was quick with a joke, a smile and many clever quips - perhaps being here shortly after Germany beat Ronaldo in the Euro's helped the festive mood? The beer delicious. The curry wurst delicious. The apple strudel was bananas delicious! Definitely will be back over and over again, enjoy!
Really good menu, nice selection of beer and one of the coolest floor tile designs in the city. A very solid place for a good meal and beverage.
My husband and I had a few shared plates here for lunch one afternoon. We both started off with a Weihenstephan Kristall, which was really nice and had a hint of banana. We shared the CurryWurst & Pommes, Käsespätzle, and a small Bretzel. The CurryWurst and fries were great - I loved the curry ketchup and mayo. The Pretzel was a bit dry and bland in comparison to the big doughy pretzels I’ve had at Radegast Hall in Williamsburg. The Käsespätzle was kind of disappointing and not at all like what I had while living in Germany, or how my mom makes it. The noodles should be a bit fluffier and textured - these were thin, limp, and kind of hard to eat with a fork. The cheese was thin and had an oily texture. Overall the food was pretty good, and the beer was the real deal.
This German restaurant is not too far from a number of trains in Brooklyn. I got a few beers and a delicious pretzel with a friend. They have a mustard that isn't too spicy but still has a kick. Their beer selection is good too.
To be fair, I did not drink or eat here, I only enjoyed the space with a medium size group of friends. Generally good times although it can be a little tough to find seating for anything larger than a double. However, everyone in there are nice and accommodating. The beer selection is good and the food seems good according to the people I was with. It seems like a popular local spot, so you can't really go wrong here. Also, it's on the corner of the block in a wide intersection so it gets great light.
Great place usually opened late (after 12am) chilled atmosphere no matter what time of the day. Outdoor sidewalk seating is nice. Sports shown on large projector screen is a plus. Great beer, reasonably price undoubtedly strong and tasty. Food is good considering. Downside cash only. Otherwise would of gave it 5 stars.
Drinks and service was good but ordered a apple strudel with ice cream and they didn’t say until they brought the food out that there was no ice cream today. Would’ve been nice to get a discount or extra strudel since that was included in the dish but instead paid $9 for a thin slice of strudel. It was tasty though and drinks were good.
We go here for Trivia night every Wednesday. As we're regulars we're always served well, though last night's service was really poor even though they weren't that busy. I love this place for the beer and sausages - you can't go wrong in a German restaurant . Try the kielbasa, chicken brat and the currywurst with a few toppings. The main dishes are pretty good too. But definitely, definitely go here during trivia night. Joe, the host, is just a real fun energetic dude and the vibe of this place is just at another level during that time.
Really good draft beers. The food was skimpy, but tasty. I prefer my schnitzel to be hanging off the plate. Prices seemed fair. A fun hang. Perfectly fine for a dntn Brooklyn, pre-Barclay's show.
Nice spot..w open area, and outdoor seating. Good standard german food.. the currywurst was better than expected - lots of flavor and not as fatty and chewy. Einbeker beer was excellent - crisp and fresh (tastes like they keep the lines clean)..not a fan of the non-transparent glass they used though. For food I got the 2 sausage platter w currywurst (which was v good) and kielbasa (v fatty and just ok). The sauerkraut was also ok. Pretzel sausage bun was tasty - a nice twist. But wish they'd give 2 buns - one for each of the sausages Service was good.. bartender was great, and attentive, and also let me try a couple beers.. the server was nice but messed up a few times (I guess understandable since it was busy, and apparently it was their first day). I would come back again for the great beer selection, and to try the chicken schnitzel.
An hour wait for 2 brats and an order of fries and another 45 minutes to get the bill. Really loud indoors and no pitchers to share any German beer. Nice place, nice food, wouldn't immediately go back.
I was in the area late one summer night and this was the only place serving food late. I got a sausage and a pretzel which were pretty good. Service seemed a little bit slow but the night was winding down and I was by the door. In the warm weather, outdoor seating was available. I was glad to find something to eat but I wonder if things would have been a bit different during the day when the place was in full swing. I'll be back to check...
German beer selection is great, while the food is ok. Would be great if they didn’t pre-cut the wursts and schnitzel, since it dries out the food. Just a suggestion to owners—could you please prohibit smoking at the tables outside, particularly when food is offered? I know it’s a grey area, but it really diminishes the experience. The people behind us pretty much chain smoked the entire visit, and the waiter didn’t seem to be empowered to get them to stop.
If you like German food and beer this place is worth checking out. For $12 I expected more than one currywurst sausage and some fries (crispy, not oily) but both were really good and the curry ketchup was phenomenal. More generous portions would have bumped this to a four-star review.
They have a very nice selection of draft beers, including Kostrizer, and the food is fine. Menus are QR codes, seating is uncomfortable, wobbly, and awkwardly placed. Pretzel buns are outsourced and it was not known what allergens they contained. I would go back if I had to.
I have never eaten in here; but I have witness in many occasions the service that the staff bring to the customers. Service looks really good. I have seen people eat the food that is serve in here with gusto, what I can tell is that the food looks good too. I have not try the beer either, but I can tell you that it looks really good and in a very generous portions. Very relax atmosphere here, my dog and I enjoy spending time at the city benches quite often; while observing the customers enjoying their time here. The public benches are in closed proximity to the ones from the restaurant, I have never seen the public space been invade in any way by the customers or staff at this restaurant. Great atmosphere here and great customers too.
food, even simple things, take quite a while. This is even on off-peak hours. The outdoor seating and Paulener beer on draft is probs the only pros. Id still suggest going to another pub with outdoor summer seating over this place
Stopped in for a bite before a game at Barclays. Service was slow with only one server who seemed to be covering all the tables. Beer orders came quick, ordered an appetizer that took about 30 minutes to get. We would’ve ordered entrees but server never came back to table to get order. Would go back for casual beers, but if you are looking for a quick spot for dinner (we had just under an hour, I’d go somewhere else.
The latkes with the mushroom sauce spiced is so yum. I don’t recommend the chicken stew, beef looks getter. The sparkling apple juice is a bit dry if you’re looking for sweet. Some of the waiters are sweet others are slower. Great for a pack of friends.
Service is as crappy and food too. All of those shnitzel burgers options looked like patties warmed up with buns in the microwave. It was sweet and sour and tasteless at the same time. It’s like somebody has found all the condiments (ketchup, mustard and jelly) in the kitchen and mixed all of them in one dish. Plus it’s not a restaurant in a sense but more of a beer house. No photos, sorry. Food took kinda long anyway. I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Decent environment with good food in abysmal portions. I went with a friend and we waited almost an hour for our food, during which I couldn't even get a refill on water because our waiter only came back to check on us after we had already started eating. It got to the point that my friend got us the bottle we were supposed to be given himself. On top of that their only utensils are plastic.
Edit: Added a star because after I left my food came (received by my awaiting friends) … although they got the order wrong. This is my first time leaving a negative review, but I feel it is the only way to communicate with the restaurant. I came with a group for trivia. We ordered food and drinks, and paid when we ordered. Our food never came. After 50 minutes we asked a waiter, who said the kitchen was delayed. After an hour we asked if they could check the status (maybe something didn’t go through). We didn’t hear back. After 75 minutes I needed to leave to make it home. I tried to ask about getting a refund as I never got my food. I was ignored by two waiters who I asked. I left without a refund and without food 1 1/2 hours after arriving. I understand they’re overworked, but they should have at least communicated better.
Let’s talk tipping. So walking into this place you first are greeted by a guy who dissuades from sitting where you want. Follow that by when you order he treats you like a child and makes you side his iPad to select the things you want (why is here I could do this on my phone). We continue on, the beer compared to their competitor Black Forest sub par, the sausage sub par. But the coup de grace is the audacity to present you with a tip screen of: 20, 25, 30%. That’s right 30% when the best he could do was hand me the iPad to do my own order. I’m a fat person, so I eat a lot, and I live nyc so I get paid enough to eat a lot. 30% is insane to even proposition and 20 at a minimum for a beer garden. Honestly the only saving is the lady; but asking me to tip 20 at minimum is about as insane as thinking me taking my own order means you deserve anymore.
I’m so sad , I live in the area and always wanted to go here ! I decided to go tonight with a friend just to have a drink and we didn’t get greeted , just seated . The older gentleman as my waiter was very inpatient didn’t even let me know how the menu is or where to find the menu which I notice after a-little convo with a friend it’s on The table. After we are done , we are starting to pay and he knew it was over the amount of money but still decided to proceed and walk away . I went to someone at the bar to let them know about the issue they didn’t help me resolve and dismissed me to say he left to go to the store but to find out he was in the back smh!!!! Can’t believe it , mind you he already got a tip!
Was excited to come here, the vibe was great and the beer too. But what they tried to pass off as currywurst & pommes was insulting. $19 and 45 minutes just to get a gas station paper basket filled (if you can call it filled) with a tiny sausage *already cut up* and less than a handful of fries. Talk about shrinkflation... Ordered the "hot" and it barely came with any curry at all. Felt like I paid $19 for a small cut-up hot dog and ketchup. Charge $22 and serve something worth eating instead of $19 for a $5 gas station meal
We love DSK and have been coming for years but the last 3 times we went they told us someone had called out sick and we’re very disorganized with food distribution. It’s also never “sorry about the wait” they seem pretty impatient towards any questions from customers. We also saw multiple people just leave after being seated and not waited on for 20 minutes or so. We look forward to coming back once they are a bit more organized. I hope they take this as constructive because we really used to enjoy coming here.
Just another failed attempt to create a German pub in NY. Sadly! Obazda? So easy to do, yet your version is unenjoyable and has little to nothing to do with Obazda. Currywurst? Never seen a greenish looking sausage like that and the sauce was terrible. Inedible. Service: Poor and rude, just as the very grumpy manager/owner. Two stars only because of the beer selection. But I won’t come back.
Unfortunately the worst dining experience I’ve had in the city after 4 years. Really poor service and food was awful, after waiting over 30 min. Likely not a bad atmosphere for beers but do not come here to eat.
This would be a great neighborhood spot if the owner and waitstaff were better trained in hospitality. The idea is there, but the management and service are NOT. Too bad they are running their own establishment into the ground with poor training and bad customer service. this is coming from someone with 20 years in hospitality.
I’ve been a regular here since 2022. And today their barman Mike said we are “insulting customers that leave no tips”. First of all i’ve been coming here every second week or often and leaving always a 20% tip either on their pad when paying card or with cash. Secondly, how could you say stuff like that to your client? You lost a regular client today
Charged $17 for a pretzel after the kitchen closed. Usually comes for $12 but they added all the extras I didn’t ask for. And it obviously came out like the last product of the day (which I’m not mad at, I asked for it, fine) but I didn’t ask for all the fixings. $46 for 1 pretzel and 2 beers. And too loud to talk. Edit: owner commented and didn’t read. I never mentioned the Schnitzel. I said pretzel.
Edit : bartenders looked annoyed by their guests - what a surprise, a poor review garners a snarky response from ownership. If I were offered juice, I wouldn't expect alcohol; however when the offer is beer, alcohol is the minimum expectation. Poor customer service. I wouldn't have bothered coming back before, now I'll make sure to discourage anyone that mentions wanting to go here. Avoid. Non alcoholic beers, no shots. Barely a bar.
They asked me to open a tab while sitting down, i gave my card. Then I paid cash, for the last 3 days there is $125+ pending charge on my card, they told me they never charged it and it will come back. Its nonsense. Also their service sucks.
This place is NOT dog friendly and the staff and owner are very, very unprofessional. Do not go here. I was actually shocked by this experience, and reading the owner’s reviews on the other negative Google reviews on here, I feel even more confident I will never be returning here. I’ll tell everyone I know not to go here as well. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: A staff member put his face in my friend's dog's face (the dog is an 8-year-old service dog who just had surgery a few days prior, and, like many dogs, does not like when strangers put their face in his face). So naturally, the dog barked ONCE and the staff member and owner claimed the dog "attacked" the staff member, which is honestly laughable. Barking is their way of communicating. He was recovering from a surgery and wanted the staff member out of his space, so he barked ONE TIME. If he wanted to attack your staff member, he would have. If you are going to allow dogs at your establishment, train your staff how to properly approach dogs. This is common sense.
The dish costed $40 but the food was terrible - it's one of those places that don't cook but just put together semifinished products and heat them up a bit. Naturally, the plates and forks are plastic. I asked owner for metal fork and knife to cut food - she refused. I asked for hot water or tea - was refused. A couple came in while I was sitting there and they wanted to sit at a 4person table (in an empty restaurant!) - she refused them because "those tables are for bigger companies" and they leave. So basically both the food and service are terrible.
Could give 0 stars if I could. Charged my card $35 when they didn't provide service. Lied. Decor was mid.
A fly fell into my beer and I asked the bartender if I can get a new beer and he goes “the best I can offer is a spoon”, implying that I should take it out. I used to get great service here, but recently it’s been very unpleasant and unprofessional. The worst place you go to - you would be offered a full beer instead of the one with a bug in your current. Bartender should lose his attitude, it’s clients who pay, and servers who serve, how hard is it to remember? I will not come back here, and will make sure that my friends don’t either.
This bar did not present an itemized bill at checkout and overcharged me by five drinks. When I reviewed the receipt that was sent to my email and realized this, I went back when they opened the next day and was completely dismissed by the owners. They refused to do any investigation into the matter, accused me of lying to them, and were rude and very delayed about following up on the issue. For a neighborhood bar that I've visited many times, I was astounded at how they treat their customers. I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.
I have visited this establishment on multiple occasions, but this experience was notably different. Our initial server, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall, was exceptional—kind and attentive. However, after his departure, the subsequent server, who had light skin and dreadlocks, provided a less than satisfactory experience. The server expressed concerns about my nephews, who were engaging in a gentle game with a plush ball beside our table. My three-year-old nephew was standing on an empty bench, and his eleven-year-old brother was seated nearby. They had been playing this simple game since our arrival, and it was done in a manner that posed no risk to themselves or others, especially given that we were the only patrons in the bar at that time. Despite our efforts to ensure they were safely playing within the designated confines, the server approached us again, reiterating, “Please watch your kids.” I felt this was unwarranted, as the children were in close proximity to us and there was no potential for harm. When I sought clarification from the server regarding their concerns, he explained, “We have been sued regarding children in the past, and I do not wish to face such issues again.” At this point, I requested the check and expressed my intention to leave. I had asked for another drink, but given the circumstances, I was taken aback by the server's response. Our second round was served, after which we received yet another complaint about my nephew “playing” in an area that they deemed inappropriate. It was noteworthy that many other children had been playing throughout the evening without any similar comments. This experience was quite disappointing, especially considering that we were the only guests at that moment, and I believe that the treatment we received was not in keeping with the standards I have come to expect from this establishment..
Had my drink order taken at the very beginning of service but the waiter did not return for the rest of the time my partner and I were there (almost an hour). The waiter was by himself so I'll give him that, but otherwise to not be addressed for almost an hour is disappointing to say the least. Help your staff out. It was also hotter inside than the outside. I would comment on the food, but I never got to order it.
Bad! It's a pity, but - this place was good until 2023. Bartender Mike demands a separate tip, even if you are sitting at a table and a waiter is serving you. Now the waiter, as soon as he brings a full order, - then you won't catch him, he runs past. And when you come to the bar, it happens that the waiter or the bill - he demands to give him a tip personally. It has become bad in this bar. They have lost customers who came at least 3 times a week to eat and drink 5 liters of beer per visit
I used to love this place. We would come here for great beer and delicious sausages every now and then. Last time we were 15 minutes away from the place, called them to ask if they're open (it was July 5 so many places were closed). The person on the phone told us that they'll be open for 3 more hours. Once we got there 15 mis later, turned out their kitchen *just* closed few mins ago. Being optimistic, we came again and everything was fine. Except for the last 5 minutes when my wife was finishing her beer - already pid and just few more sips left - a person from staff approached and asked us to free the table right away and finish the beer on a public bench nearby so that they can sit another party waiting for the table. Can it get any worse? Surely - when I replied that we came here to enjoy the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant, so would prefer to finish our drinks behind the table - she said that I'm making drama out of nothing. I wish I asked for $5 back from my check if she would want me to free up a table and finish a beer on a public bench nearby. To sum it up, it feels like customers are neglected to say the least. If would end up there again, won't pay by check until I'm walking away to ensure the tip reflects their service end-to-end.
Can’t even rate the food cause despite making eye contact with me multiple times and my waving to them I was never asked if I’d like to order. The place was dead, 2 servers and maybe 8 other people aside from my small group? Rude treatment from the server that waited on the rest of my group. Pretty sure they were charged more than once for what they ordered but the server didn’t show an itemized bill and we were in a hurry to get a toddler home for nap. This place used to be our regular but has gone down hill in a major way. Won’t make the mistake of returning.
HORRENDOUS SERVICE! They lied and told me they had not charged me for beers that i later found from my credit card account they had. The place is unique and cute and I live in the neighborhood so I have ended up here several times via friends or happenstance and each time I am reminded why I tell myself I will never go back. Truly some of the most hostile staff you will ever encounter. They are extremely slow to serve and very rude and its a widespread attitude throughout the staff. My gf had a birthday here put her card down to pay for the tab at the start of the night then forgot to pick it up at the end to close out. The next day when she went to pick it up after they gave themselves a 20% tip without her consent mind you, they accused her of “dining and dashing” giving her a hard time before giving her the card back. They also yelled at several members of the party for attempting to order at the bar(god forbid) and this last and final time i went they took 20 minutes to bring us our first round of beers and when we canceled them they told us they hadnt charged the card for them but they did. Rotten people.
Was here yesterday with a friend, the server sat us and then sat down at a table chatting with a friend for 10 minutes right in front of us before taking our order. Finally ordered and we watched the bartender chat with others at the bar for ten minutes without making a single drink. By the time they poured the beers we had been there 20 minutes, at that time we got a text from the restaurant we were waiting for a table at that it was ready. He tried to get them to cancel the beers even though he already paid bc we never received them. They caused a scene in front of everyone at the bar about it and told him he was being rude. They eventually said dont worry about it and that they hadnt actually charged him but when he looked online he found out they lied. They charged him for all three beers and included a 20% tip.
The website says they close at 2am on Saturdays. We ubered there, walked in at 1130, and were told they were doing last call. At 12, the bartender came and told us we had to get going because they were closing. I wasn't halfway done with my beer. There were two full tables there besides ours. I will certainly never go back. We went to Endswell instead, which has an awesome vibe and the service was great!
I visited this German brewery with three friends on a Tuesday night. Although it wasn’t too crowded, our experience was disappointing. While we were greeted and seated promptly, the service quickly became an issue. We noticed that our beer glasses were consistently only about 80-90% full, while other patrons received full pours. Additionally, we ordered nachos, but despite waiting over 20 minutes, we still hadn’t received them. Meanwhile, other tables that arrived after us were served quickly. When we finally got our nachos, they were soggy and unappetizing. We also requested cutlery multiple times, but it never arrived, and we ended up not being able to enjoy our food. However, when we asked for the bill, it was promptly brought to us, which felt rather insensitive. Overall, the experience felt lackluster, and we left feeling disappointed. We won’t be returning.
Single most unprofessional experience I’ve had at a bar. I’ve never written a bad review before but was moved to after we waited over an hour and our food never came. I’ve been in the industry for 10+ years, and this is easily the most dysfunctional bar I’ve ever witnessed. After reading other bad reviews, it’s clear the management here doesn’t have an ounce of respect for its customers or its staff. Deeply disappointing, unprofessional, disrespectful, and frankly embarrassing. You can’t demand a credit card be put on file and then give horrendous service. Spreading the word to my industry friends.
Whoa rude staff. Had to seat ourselves then wait 30 minutes (the place was empty) for the waiter to come over and demand a credit card on file before we even ordered. Beer was good. Food was inedible. We then sat there for another 45 minutes waiting for someone to help us, and despite making eye contact with our waiter he continued to chat his friends up. Ended up getting up and walking off.
