From the insanely excellent service from wait staff, to the delicious craft cocktails and divine food, Joseph Leonard has got to be one of my new favorite spots here in WV!!! 100/10 recommend. Great location. Cozy atmosphere. Their petite steak and burger was hands down some of the best!

TLDR; super atmospheric and lovely restaurant with fairly good food depending on what you order. We came in on a busy day without reservation and didn’t get a table with the caveat that they needed to back within the hour - probably better to come with reservations. The restaurant has a very charming rustic vibe and is quite small which only adds to it. Since we came in only for a quick bite, we ordered the egg sandwich, an omelette and a fruit bowl. The fruit was super fresh and the strawberries were unbelievably sweet, but the real star of the show was the egg sandwich. The flavors are just incredible and even though it might look small, it’s very filling. The omelette was unfortunately a bit too bland for my taste. Update: on a second visit, we tried the granola as well as the baguette French toast. The latter was absolutely amazing - so crispy, so lightly sweetened. The best I’ve had. Service is nice and attentive.

The menu has some gems -> the friend green tomatoes are actually so insanely delicious Ask your server for recs, it seems you can’t really go wrong. I’ll be back again and again

The waiter that helped me was great. Very charismatic and nice. He recommended me the croquet monsieur with mushrooms, poached egg on top. It was good. The only recommendation I would give as a dog owner and lover is that you can feel by the air that is not a dog friendly place. Too bad, because the sitting outside would be perfect and attract even more residents since NY has more dogs than people in Cleveland. Therefore I would recommend if you go with friends, but not with your fur friend.

I had the fried chicken sandwich with an egg and the hash browns! I am a big fried chicken fan and the sandwich satisfied my craving however it felt like it was missing something. The portion was also a little small. I was very eager to order the hash brown but it was very bland and burnt a little on the edges.

Small charming restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Food was all really good. We had brunch. Polenta and Brussel sprouts were very tasty and filling. Polenta was creamy and Brussels had a great char. Sausage dish was also good. Sausage are patties and made in house. We couldn’t discern what gave it its unique taste but it is worth trying. Hash brown was super crispy and bacon was thick and crunchy. Will return to try dinner.

Joseph Leonard offers a beautiful space and a commendable staff, creating a welcoming environment. However, the overall dining experience fell short as the food lacked flavor, prompting us to send back one dish. Additionally, the cocktails were somewhat flavorless. Despite these shortcomings, the excellent service and appealing ambiance make it a place worth considering.

We were visiting New York to meet up with a friend and came here for food and to catch up! Atmosphere is small but cozy and not too loud. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was good! We ordered the burger and chicken sandwich which came out nice and hot. Everything looked and tasted great. We ordered a slice of carrot cake and banana toffee cake. The carrot cake was moist and the frosting wasn’t too sweet. I really enjoyed the banana toffee cake, good toffee to banana ratio! I’m glad I stopped by; it was a good place to catch up with friends!

I used to frequent this restaurant every year around the holiday. The food is delicious and expertly flavored. Service was always friendly and warm—even on a crowded night they would invite you to stay and enjoy a drink at the bar after your meal. This year, we were rushed out of our reservation so much so we were halfway through our dinner when they tried to remove the plates. And when we finally did finish our dinner they gave us the check before offering us dessert menus. We used to be able to sit and enjoy the ambiance and the meal there—what once was a cozy neighborhood he has turned into somewhere that favors turning tables. I miss the old days.

I gave this place a 2/5 star rating because, while the service was excellent, the food left much to be desired. The standout was definitely our waiter, who was attentive, helpful, and very entertaining. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the same standard. I would strongly advise against coming here solely for the food. The cocktails were a positive aspect of the experience, but the food itself was disappointing. It seemed like a lot of effort was put into the dishes, but they simply didn't deliver in terms of taste and quality. The fries were a particular letdown, resembling leftover bits of potatoes that were cooked to a crisp. While the service was top-notch, the subpar food experience means that I won't be returning to this establishment.
