Got takeout here last weekend - incredible. I loved the paneer tikka masala, my husband loved the chicken tikka masala, and we both loved the pakoras - best pakoras I've had! The gentleman I paid with also sent me off with a complimentary new years dessert... so kind; relished it. Would definitely return for more if/when we're back in NY! Mumbai Place is a neighborhood favorite! We stop in about once a month and I’m always charmed by the friendly staff, quick service, and excellent take out too. I will say - they do a great job packaging. After I picked up my food this evening, I slipped on some ice down the street…and everything remained sealed! That says something!

Love, love, loved everything!! I’ve been to so many Indian restaurants, but this was THE one. The food was amazing and tasted so fresh. The staff was incredibly kind, and the place was very clean. I usually don’t drink mango lassi, but my husband ordered one and I took a sip—wow, the best! I had to order one for myself. The owner was also so kind and even gave us a free kebab. This will definitely be our go-to spot!!

The food was tasty and the quality was excellent. I ordered the lunch menu and it’s reasonable. It was a nice atmosphere and mango lassi and chicken biryani was yummy. The staff is helpful and I would recommend anyone here. Overall was good visit here definitely coming back with my family.

Just had an amazing meal here. We walked in, cold and in need of something warm. I asked for hot tea. I was surprised by a delicious, perfectly spiced and sweetened chai. We also got a variety of dishes from chicken, to lamb to shrimp. Everything was fantastic. My favorite was the chicken saag and the lamb tika masala. The shrimp vindaloo was a tiny bit too spicy for me but that's just my spice tolerance. The garlic naan was soo good too. The cheese one was great as well with actual shredded cheese inside. Yum. But, I really loved the garlic one. So light and fluffy. Definitely coming back here. Wish I lived closer.

Absolutely amazing restaurant, truly one of the best and flavorful dishes we've tried in NYC! We ordered: - garlic chili naan - lamb tikka masala - goat vindaloo (🌶️🌶️🌶️; but so good with a side of raita) - saag paneer - mango lassi to share 🥭 Everything from the cozy atmosphere to the delicious food and excellent, warm service (shout out to Mr. Arif!) makes this place somewhere we will definitely frequent when we are in the area!

I discovered this restaurant online, while looking for highly rated Indian food in my area. The food has *overall* remained consistently well seasoned and tasty. Also, the hostess and delivery reps have maintained a friendly and professional attitude. In addition, the hostess over the phone even sent me a free herbal tea bag, because he notice that I sounded sick. He was careful to ask me if I was okay and if he could send me something to help me? They just don't exhibit to strive to cook and deliver quality food and service, but care for their customers. I look forward to continuosly enjoying this food with family and/or friends on special occasions.

Mumbai Place should be called Mumbai Palace. This place is royally kind & majestically delicious. We called ahead and they accommodated 12 people easily. They had seasonal pumpkin dishes and such yummy eggplant slosh. I literally don’t know what this eggplant thing is called it was soooooo good tho.

Mumbai Place is simply the best! I’ve tried many Indian restaurants, but nothing compares. As a vegetarian, I’m amazed by how flavorful and satisfying every dish is. We come back every chance we get 🤗❤️

My partner and I were looking for a new Indian spot to celebrate & I’m so glad she found this one. Customer service was a 11/10 !! And the food was SO good ! So much flavor and the serving size was perfect ! Would definitely recommend to friends and family and they just opened a new spot in Williamsburg too ! Most definitely coming back! - also highly recommend the veggie samosa (obsessed)

Came here for dinner with some friends. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Arifur was extremely kind and helped us if we had any questions or problems. We got the Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, garlic naan, and mango lasi. Everything was so good and tasty also came out quick - no complaints. This place is also halal. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good bite 😊

This unassuming little place has some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had - and I’ve had a LOT. Flavors are rich and complex and do not hit you over the head. Even the Lassi wasn’t aggressively sweet. The owner was friendly and made great suggestions. I will be coming back many times!

I absolutely loved my meal here. Best date night spot super sweet staff and absolutely delicious food. I love Indian food in general and this was probably the best place in NYC I’ve had in years! Amazing prices too!! Super fresh great quality I wish I could live here.

Good food, nice atmosphere, nice wait staff. I had the chicken tika/rice and garlic naan with masala chai tea. The chicken tika sauce was a little sweet, but the food was good overall. Fresh and flavorful. Overall, a good experience, would recommend.

I don’t write many reviews but I hope this would provide some insight. If you’re looking for traditional Indian food with all of its seasoning, this is not that. If you’re looking for friendly customer service that pays attention, it’s not that either. The grilled salmon was cooked thoroughly and was good, as a healthy eater. However, it wasn’t very flavorful. The older gentleman didn’t seem to pay attention to detail. The younger guy had a friendly demeanor and seemed helpful. Forgetting bring items and leaving it on the bill is a big NO.

Very disappointing experience. The waiter was extremely rude from the moment we arrived. When we politely asked why the dal was served without tadka, he got offended and even questioned how long I’ve been in the USA — completely unprofessional and unnecessary. The restaurant was also very cold. There was no proper heating, and the only small portable heater they gave us was uncomfortable to place and didn’t help at all. We had to sit with our jackets on the entire time. The food was also very average, nothing special, and definitely not worth the unpleasant experience. The place even had a strong, unpleasant smell when we walked in. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
