Overall experience was the bomb, and our waitress was an absolute sweetheart! Could've used a smidge more spice, but all in all, the ambiance and food were worth the travel! I had the sampler with the crawfish pie, jambalaya, and chicken Gumbo 😁 And of course we had some beignets, which were absolutely the highlight. It was like warm, sweet, flaky butter. Could've eaten 12 😂
Two words Rita’s Chicken! We are coming back tomorrow again! The chicken and waffles was definitely a crowd pleaser. But the Rita’s chicken is spectacular! So much to see in the restaurant. Definitely an experience. Highly recommend! We came again! Everything was amazing again! Had The Who dat! Chicken amazing. My daughter had the Monica pasta really good as well. Wife got the Rita’s chicken again spectacular.
Cajun/Creole in Florida Tibby’s of New Orleans located in Altamonte Springs is a Cajun restaurant like no other. I first tasted their food when my spouse and I were shopping for bar stools for our kitchen and the store we went to happened to be in the same plaza as Tibby’s. About two doors down. So, we decided to go into Tibby’s and give them a try. I like trying different restaurants so I can add the restaurants that I like and really stand out for me to my collection of restaurants to go to when I crave a certain type of cuisine. My spouse and I both loved the food we had, and they have a nice assortment of dishes in their menu. Also, the entire restaurant is decorated in Mardi Gras style. I love their gumbo and their crawfish étouffée. I normally setup lunch for our Sunday golfers' group after a game. I brought the group there one Sunday. The group loved the food, and we had the best server. His name was Phoenix. Phoenix in the beginning probably didn’t know what he was getting into when he saw our group, but he did a fantastic job serving our group. Our golf group has since gone back two more times and both times we’ve enjoyed our food and requested for Phoenix to be our server both times. Hector the manager has been very accommodating and has ensured that Phoenix is our server every time we were there with the group. On Sundays they have a group entertaining the customers with music and songs. I always ask for the room right next to where the musicians play so it does get loud; however, once you close the doors to the room, the music was not as loud and we were able to carry on a normal conversation. If you’ve never been Tibby’s I suggest giving them a try. I’ve only been to the restaurant in Altamonte Spring, but they do have two other locations.
This place has AMAZING bottomless mimosas 😍 had an amazing time with my bestie and left extremely happy both drinks and food wise! As well, I lost my phone and they were so sweet and found it for me, when I walked in to look for it they immediately recognized me and kept it safe for me. The manager greeted my friend and I and we got these DELICOIS shots! All around fantastic thank you so much for a great last day in orlando 🥰🥰🥰
Tibby 's was the highlight of our visit to Orlando! The food the atmosphere the service everything was on point! I had the shrimp and grits, the basket of shrimp, and a cup of etouffee that were all marvelous! The bartender and waiter were so nice and helpful my entire visit. I can't wait to go back!
The Orlean’s styles food was delicious😋🤤 I had the shrimp (can’t remember what name) gumbo bowl we didn’t had to wait long since it was slow. The food was awesome, hot and fresh! I order the strawberry daiquiri, my brother and mom pick beignets and a meat wrap along with their food and it was hot soft and sweet. Omg I’m definitely coming back!. Our waitress was very accommodating in refilling our drinks. The decoration was the icing of the whole atmosphere with the big masks was 👍🏽 great I love the artwork so well it felt like I was in a real mardi gra :) they have a big open bar.
Service was awesome, very friendly staff, ordered Crawfish Etouffee and made me miss home a bit. The atmosphere was very inviting the flavors of all the dishes were awesome great seasoned and not over powering.
It has been quite some time since I visited Tibby. We were in the area and decided to stop in. James was our server, he was very attentive and refreshed our memory about the menu. We had the Rita’s chicken with dirty rice, hubby had the 12 inch shrimp, Poboy and fries! It was huge! He really enjoyed it. I decided to top off The afternoon with an amazing hurricane, which was also prepared by James. 💕 Definitely worth stopping in.
Mmm, lemme tell ya, cher — Tibby’s in Altamonte hit the spot fo’ real! That fried chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right, and them sweet potato fries? Sweet like Sunday mornin’. The chicken ‘n waffles with cheese grits had that perfect mix of savory and soul — every bite felt like home in New Orleans. If you want that down-home flavor with a little jazz on the side, Tibby’s is where you go, baby! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Good eats, good vibes, good times!
My husband returned to Tibby’s today, and it reminded me that I never wrote my review from our visit on 9/5/25. To let the cat out of the bag: FABULOUS. My kin live all over the Gulf Coast from Avondale to Pascagoula, and I lived 2015-2023 in New Orleans, so I have a lot of opinions about NOLA-style food. Since we arrived back in Florida, people have prodded us to try Tibby’s, and we were reticent because most places just don’t do it right. Tibby’s does everything that a member of the New Orleanian diaspora should do. No one should be trying to ship in Leidenheimer bread for the circlejerk of aUtHeNtIcItY. Tibby’s food was damn near close to what I ate for 9y in the city, and where it strayed from tradition, it is to respect the taste of locals in the area they operate. (Are we going to tell NY takeout Chinese food they aren’t authentic enough? Or that they have a Japanese dish on the menu? Or respect the need they fill in our society?) The flavor was great. My family tried all kinds of menu items. I have celiac disease, so I was very limited in what I could try. We decided everything we had except the dip (alligator and shrimp, maybe?) we would order again. The drinks were good. The Hurricane was a standout. Honestly better than the box mix at Pat O’s. The rest were fine. But we’re bar snobs, and this is a neighborhood restaurant, so I ain’t fussin’. Our server was excellent. I want to say his name was Jeff? He had a buzzed head and a snappy personality. He kept me safe with my food issues and honored the NOLA service tradition (aggressive helpfulness that never stoops to patronizing smarm). Where Tibby’s was flawless was the vibes ✨ You can tell person who decorated here lived in the city. You can tell they love it. You can tell they still do. Unlike, say, the NOLA themed properties at Disney, it isn’t trying to portray some little slice view of the way the city was once, or the way they imagine it could be if you wiped the dirt of her face. Tibby’s decor, music, and service captures the vibrancy of New Orleans — the zest for life, misspellings and potholes and all, the way nothing is quiet, dull or half-ass. New Orleans does everything with its full ass every damn time, and Tibby’s is carrying on that tradition. Bravo, folks! And thank you for helping me introduce my niece to Abita Root Beer. Thanks for the slice of home I’m still mourning every day I spend in the Sunshine State.
July 31,2025: This was our first time eating here. I can’t say that I felt New Orleans vibes, because I’ve never visited New Orleans by choice. I can say that the music, food plus atmosphere was great! And so was our waiter. Their art decor is what initially drew me to this restaurant after viewing photos online. The art work was alive and mesmerizing! This would be a great place to visit if you are ever in the area.
We enjoyed the location! Everyone was was so friendly and worked together excellently. Highly recommend Sunday brunch and dueling pianos!
Had brunch at the Altamonte location and loved it. The praline waffle, holy cow, it's amazing. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the potatoes have a nice little kick.
What a cool place! The vibe and decor was fun and our server was awesome. The food was really good too, my only complaint was the banana fosters cheesecake was not flambeed bananas in rum but just 3 little banana slices with plain cheesecake but it was still super creamy and delicious. The menu has a good variety, something for everyone. If you haven't been I recommend you go!
The food was good. I tried Gator bites for the first time and they were fried just right, taste like chicken. Thw artichoke dip was delicious 😋 as well. The bread had the right amount of crunch and melted in your mouth and the dip was on point. The Fried green tomatoes was good but I like my batter a little harder. The fish was fried so pretty and fresh and hot out the fryer and taste great 👍🏾. To top it off I had some Beignets 😋 sooo delicious 😋. I will definitely go back. My son really liked the waffles and fries.
I had such a hard week at work. So today, I decided to take my daughter out to eat to despite hard times. Having Tamika as our server literally confirmed that coming to Tibby's was the right decision. We needed her spirit and her presence. She helped heal a sad part of my spirit today. She is a special being and Tibby's is blessed to have her representing the culture of love and food. Thank you Tamika. 💜
If you’re dining at Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen in Altamonte Springs, do yourself a favor and ask for Agatha. She was absolutely fantastic—truly one of the best servers I’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, her warm and welcoming personality made us feel right at home. She offered excellent menu recommendations and was incredibly accommodating throughout our visit. The cherry on top? A thoughtful, handwritten note she left us at the end of our meal—it was such a kind gesture and genuinely made our day. Agatha brings the heart of New Orleans hospitality to life. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll definitely be asking for her again!
Wow, shockingly good. The blackened chicken and the grilled pork chops were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The chef knows what he is doing. Tamika was one of the friendliness and helpful servers we have had. Great food, great people, a must go!
The best.New Orleans Kitchen in Orlando the best jambalaya in Orlando and the Po boys are Too The drinks are outstanding we love it
Great food and super friendly !!!! Was looking for a brunch place on a trip and it did not disappoint. The grits were the best I’ve ever had, will be coming back.
This was not my first visit to this location but it had been over a year since I was there last. I don’t know why I haven’t been back in so long. As usual the food was very good and the service was on point. I had my go to dinner, the Fried 12-napkin roast beef (minus tomato and pickles). My brother in law had Rita’s chicken. He said it was very tasty as well. Definitely need to come here again sooner than later.
This place was awesome!!!! Came in here with some colleagues from work. Some happen to have been from the south and they were quite happy with it. I felt like I was having an affair with the bread pudding
Very good food. Excellent service. Perfect new orleans atmosphere and decor.
Ughhh so cute! I just got togo and I felt in my spirit to write a review... AMAZING catfish. So simple but to the point and fresh. Not a fan of the remoulade but that's okay.
First time here and the service was great! Drinks was great. The food was really good
Amazing dining experience! Wonderful food, exactly like what I've had in New Orleans! The brandy milk punch is not to be missed! I had the sampler and was amazed at the quality of each item. The Gumbo, jambalaya, and crawfish pie were some of the best I've ever had. Every member of the staff was friendly and personable. We were visited by two managers (I assume) and their first concern was to make sure everything was good and that we were enjoying ourselves. Added note : the atmosphere of Tibby's is enough to recommend the place all on its own. Definitely recommend and I will be coming back.
My mother and I finally got to check out their brunch! Absolutely delicious! I didn’t even need a knife for the pork chops! The Bloody Mary’s are missing from my photos because they just disappeared too fast 🤷🏻♀️ Definitely recommend!
We found this place on a whim after driving over an hour to see an IMAX movie. We are so glad we did!!! The food was spot on and made me and my husband feel like we were back in NOLA. The cheesecake appetizer was divine and the grits were so fluffy and perfect. I loved the hot catfish . Our server was Phynix. He was SO kind and he had a lot of suggestions of food to try for my mother in law. He really added to the experience. The DECOR THO... truly the most beautiful restaurant I've seen in Florida .
Outstanding food and really great service! I was there with a large group and the restaurant was very accommodating! Portions were great and the wall art is amazing. Make sure to get the shrimp and grits. My sandwhich was great but I tasted the shrimp and it was the best. Also don’t miss out on the onion rings: outstanding!
It was very nice the decor is to die for amazing the food was very good will most definitely bring my mom here
We came with a large party for Mother's Day brunch and had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. —highly recommend it!
This place is a must go! Everyone here is so kind and has a great energy! The place itself is gorgeous and has so much to look at. The food itself is insanely delicious. The photos don't the food justice because it looks so so good! We had the jambalaya, the drippin chicken sandwich, the Cajun chicken tenders, and finally beignents. Our server was Dominique and we met the manager and they were both sweethearts. Would come again in a heartbeat!
I remember when this place went in. I can’t believe inwated so long to try it. My wife and I shared the shrimp & grits and a half muffelata with sweet potato fries. Everything was good. The shrimp and grits were phenomenal. The service was friendly and prompt, with good suggestions. The live music was present but not distracting (not too loud). The vibe was great, and we will be back.
What a gem!! I am so happy we found great Cajun food near us! We ordered the Jambalaya, the Catfish and Grits (which they blackened for me), and the beignets! All SO delicious, and huge portion sizes! Our server, Phoenix, was so lovely and constantly checking on us. The interior is so lively and decorated as well. I can't wait to go back!
What a beautiful location and with such incredible food. The po’ boy was filling and delicious and my cocktail was reasonably priced. My partner loved the chicken and waffles. Not to mention that our server was attentive, friendly and quick.
This was an amazing experience!! If there was a way to give more stars, I would. The vibe was energetic, the service was quick and very personable, the establishment was nice and clean. I especially loved the food! We will definitely be back!!
I've been here multiple times. Great date location but be prepared to spend $100+ for a nice meal for 2. Absolutely worth it! Last time got the Maws Fries (an absolute must)as an appetizer, Chicken Pontchatrane (what I normally get, consistently great every time), she got the Chicken Gumbo (which she seemed to really like), a couple signature Hurricanes, and Pumpkin Spice Beignets (very tempted, but resisted, to order a second order of them). Service was good, and speed was perfect. Will continue going back.
Absolutely loved eating here. The hostess Angie was SO WARM, and our server Tamica saw to our every need. 100% will come here again and invite friends! <3
I love going to Tibby’s. My family and I have the best experiences here. The food is always amazing and the flavor is very similar to the flavors when traveling to New Orleans. The ONLY critique is that though we were sitting near the kitchen, my family and I was able to hear almost every conversation. At times, the volume was somewhat rambunctious.. One plate was taken back and traded out for something that was more comforting to that individual. However, the food is amazing and the staff was great.
This was out 1st time visiting. We are on vacation but have family who live near by so we will be recommending this is everyone. Vibes are immaculate! Food was to die for. The red beans and rice were packed with sooo much flavor. And try to save room for the bread pudding.
The gumbo and jambalaya here is a banger!!!!!! I live for them and really enjoy the fact you can have a big portion or small. Some days I get two smalls or two big ones! Tibby’s is truly great especially when there’s not much soul food/cajun restaurants in Orlando
Phoenix was very nice and helpful. Our drinks stayed full and table was clean and kept clear. I haven't been in several years, but the food remains delicious as I remember. My favorite - the bread pudding is even yummier!
I really enjoyed going to Tibby's for lunch. The atmosphere is beautiful, I really loved the large art pieces on the walls. Their were select items on the lunch menu but all normal menu items are also available if you'd prefer anything else. I ordered the lunch portion of Rita's Chicken which is a lightly breaded chicken with lemon sauce over "dirty rice." It was flavorful and the pieces of andouille sausage in the rice added a bit of spice to the dish. I think the portion size was great and would recommend it for someone who's trying not to destroy their stomach on bayou 🔥 level spices. The chicken was tender (not crispy though) and you really could taste the lemon sauce. It was a good balance of flavors and texture. My husband ordered the crawfish po'boy which was a half order for lunch with a side of cheddar grits which also came with pieces of andouille sausage inside. He ate the po'boy so fast, I think he enjoyed it! Although he did mention the bread was thick and probably left him more full versus the amount of crawfish/toppings. I tried the gritz and wasn't a huge fan of them. I'm not a huge gritz person but I thought the texture was chunky/dry/dense and I'm not sure if that's normal? I could be wrong, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Since it was my husband's early birthday luncheon was also ordered the beignets which were delicious! Nice and fluffy, a bit hollow on the inside and drenched in powdered sugar.
It was a unique restaurant with lots of fun art to view. The food was good, the service was good. Hurricanes are premixed so if you have an allergy, they can't make a hurricane for you, which stinks, but they have other options. Chicken & waffles were good, I've had better, but still tasty. The shrimp pasta was flavorful. The fried pickles were perfect! Crisp and delicious, not soggy, just perfect!
Nola is one of my favorite places to visit, so it’s wasn’t a hard sell to get me to try this place. When you walk in you are taken straight into Nola style and ambiance. Colorful, fun, and of course beads. This place is really neat! The food was great and their style of an old fashioned was tasty! I had the chicken from the lunch menu and jambalaya for an appetizer. Both were very yummy. It’s reasonably priced and just the right amount of food for lunch.
The gumbo tasted good, but the portion size was not very big for a $17 bowl of gumbo. I was not full afterwards. Also I would recommend you give a packet or two of Louisiana hot sauce with the delivery orders. It needs that extra flavor.
Twice in one week, the togo food is amazing!!!! Unfortunately I had the worst experience with the male bar staff (rude, loud, angry & aggressive) ... Because the food is good I will not throw in the towel, but I will not go to the bar. Most definitely not a one-star restaurant, I will not do that. I will try again.
WORST DINING EXPERIENCE- RACIST STAFF My friend and I are new to town, and did some research on local places that have some ethnic food options. We found this place and were super excited to go. We waited to be seated and our greeter was very short with us even though we were patient. When we were finally seated, our server introduced himself. I thought the service would be decent till I found that some parties in his section who sat down after us were getting their food first. These parties were— you guessed it, white! My friend and I tried to get his attention several times, and I could’ve sworn he rolled his eyes at us everytime before ignoring us and tending to other customers. We asked to speak to a manager and this is bald guy came up to us. He seemed receptive to our concerns and said he was going to “fix the problem”. When he walked away my friend heard him say “those kind of people never shut up, geez”. My friend looked at me in disbelief and suggested we gather our things and go. I was all for it. As we got up from our table, we heard the n-word several times from the other side of the dining room. I looked over and saw a hostess talking to the same manager and rolling her eyes. All in all— never entering this place again. If you’re a decent human being you’d do the same.
Came in on a Monday at lunch time with a group of 3 people total. We were told “let me see if there’s any servers available”. What? You have a restaurant with people actively eating in it but no one to serve? Said it’ll be 5 minutes, then proceeded to seat 2 parties who came in after us with more people. Waited 10 more mins then left. Not sure what the issue was but didn’t want to wait around to see what terrible service we’d receive if we were actually sat. Restaurant service just isn’t the same anymore.
Ordered food to go and all the food tasted bland. Beignets were fried not in fresh oil because you could taste the other fried food in the beignets. Ended up throwing out 90% of the food immediately. Would not recommend. Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did for Mardi Gras and was very disappointed.
