Best pizza ever!!! They have a wide variety of pizza and different kinds of breadsticks! The dining area is very nice to sit in and is always clean! If you get your food delivered that delivery is quick and the food is always warm. Mikes is always my go to pizza place 🍕

I can’t express how amazing Mikes is. I eat there often, but currently I am quite sick so I ordered food with contactless delivery. They were all so kind especially the delivery driver who wished I got better soon as he left the food on the porch. It warmed my heart! Thank you again for being a family focused business.

When I think of a Mom and Pop pizzeria, this place takes it up a notch! You can’t ask for better customer service, more love into their food or an easier menu than Mikes Pizzeria. I just ordered a Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub...I’m already excited to order another one. First time I tried this place at lunch, they were swamped. The staff was clearly overwhelmed, and it wasn't a great experience. But the pizza was delicious, and I've been back for lunch many times since - usually once a week. Service is excellent, and it's clear that the first time I visited was abnormally busy, even for the lunch hour. The pizza here is cheap at lunch, and as I said, it's delicious. Definitely recommended. Double check the hours though - not open for lunch on Monday or Tuesday.

The subs, salad basically everything is made to order and is awesome. We eat in every so often but mostly get takeout. I can't talk enough about how great this place is.

Terrific cost to value ratio. Quality ingredients mean the food is a step above traditional fare, and the services is commendable. The owner is genuine and sincere; Mike will come out periodically to check on your meal, offer refills, and sincerely thanks you for stopping by. If you have a chance to dine in, the cozy atmosphere is perfect for families and couples nights out. There are booths, and a small "bar" area to watch TV. I recently discovered my new personal favorite - the lasagna dinner. The owner personally hand makes the pasta and sauce, which is apparent on the first bite. (The garlic bread is also a nice complement)

This was a surprise, took a chance driving by and was one of the best pizzerias ever! Fantastic food and the people were amazing. The waitress was fun and talented, the cook came out with my stromboli himself with a smile, and even a fellow guest stood up and helped my 98 year old grandmother to the door and held it open for all 3 of us old ladies. What a wonderful surprise, an oasis in food and people. Excellent all around!

By far - my favorite pizza! I love the all meat with Mike's Crust 👌 I also order a side of garlic butter to dip my crust in. Mike greeted us as soon as we walked in & came over to chat with our table. Our waitress was also very friendly. We got the cheesy bread with chicken and it was to die for. We also got a pepperoni Detroit pizza & it was one of the best that I’ve had. We will be back!

This food was fantastic. I have many food allergies and they were able to work with me to make the best pizza! Their gluten free pizza crust and gluten free sub bun is phenomenal. They did mess up my order the first time, ( adding cheese) but offered to remake and deliver it no problem. It was here within 15 minutes. This place is awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone living in or stopping through Alto! I’m visiting my parents and have to say, they were one of the friendliest restaurants I’ve been to. Mike's Pizza has the best pizza around town! I am partial to their Chicken Bacon Ranch on their Detroit style crust...oh my gosh, the best! The Pizzeria is fantastic, we eat here at least once every 2 weeks or more. Pies are awesome, price is great. Honestly sometimes this place gets super busy with orders, errors happen and they do not hesitate to help and fix it. Love this place! Ill add photos soon.

I've been into the store a handful of times and have left full and happy each time. The food is great and quick (it is pizza...but they make some of the best pizza in the area. They have really good prices as well and everyone is really friendly. I've had the owner come out and talk with me at least 50% of the times I've eaten here. If you are in South East GR and want good pizza, make the drive to come here.

Mike's pizza & Italian menu items are fantastic regardless of if you dine in, have delivery, or take out. Mike is the consulate host. He remembers most of his clientele by name and always strives to provide he best food and service to his customers.

Was wanting a sub before I head back to Florida.... My daughter and I discussed all the franchise ones around, then I remembered to look at Mike's, to see if they were open for lunch - Hit the jackpot!! They were open and the subs we had, BLT for me and chicken bacon ranch for my daughter, were delicious! When I'm in Michigan at my daughter's, this is now my "go to" place! If you haven't tried this place, you don't know what you're missing. The owner Mike, is very personable and is the cook too.

Food was very good but the service was special…. We were camping at a local campground and after playing on the water all day we wanted simple for dinner. Pizza and breadsticks fit the bill. We ordered and I went to pick it up and when we got back to our camp site 15 min later discovered there was a mistake. 1 of the two pizzas was wrong…. A phone call to let them know (cause someone else is now missing their order also), and they were SUPER friendly and apologetic. They offered to remake our pizza so it was fresh and deliver it immediately to us…. (And it wasn’t the typical delivery driver bringing it)…. The manager/owner came in his personal vehicle immediately delivering our order to us very apologetically. Mistakes happen but in todays day and age taking immediate action and correcting it is a very welcome thing. Very highly recommend Mikes!

We ordered pizza from mikes for the first time tonight. Had heard great reviews but hadn’t ordered before because we’re outside their delivery area. When my husband went to pickup our order he left one of the bags on the counter. Mike, the owner, called and insisted on delivering the forgotten items himself. If I could give them a hundred stars I would. And to top it off it was some of the best pizza we’ve had! Mike has a new family of loyal lifelong customers!

Mike is great and the Gluten Free Pizza/Cheesy bread is my favorite thing ever. Seriously a guilty pleasure. Better than every other GF pizza I’ve tried. Order ahead of time to avoid waits because it’s popular for a reason!

Our new go-to pizza spot. The breadsticks are the best! My only complaints about the food is sometimes they do too much sauce and they don't put cheese/toppings far enough to the edge of the pizza. More attention to detail and consistency is needed. Prepare to wait a long time (45-90min) on night weekends for pick up orders.

I live out of town and am staying in Alto and decided I wanted pizza for dinner. I found Mike’s online, called and placed and order for pick-up and Mike was the one who answered. He said he wanted to make sure he spelled my name right and asked me to spell it, asked me how I heard about his business and told me where he was located. That, to me, shows that he really cares about his business and patrons. I picked up the pizza and it was SO good! I ordered a supreme and am very impressed. One of the best pizzas I’ve had. Not sure if it’s the sauce, the cheese or something else but it has an amazing flavor.

You can tell that Mike's uses real quality ingredients, fresh tasty bread, fresh veggies & cares about the preparation of their food with every bite. I ordered 3 submarine sandwiches to try tonight (chicken bacon ranch, Italian, and ham & cheese) and all 3 were totally delicious & perfectly prepared. He went in early to get the order done in off hours, personally delivered it, and was so kind every step of the way. This is also our go to place for family pizza nights. Our favorite is the thin crust four cheese pizza. Everyone we introduce to this place raves about it. Delicious pizza, excellent service, and very fair prices.

Just about everyone in the area knows Mike in some capacity. He's a really friendly guy who is passionate about making good pizza and hiring young staff members so they can get some money and help pay for college or pursue their aspirations. My brother worked for him in High School and said it was a good experience. The food is fantastic, every time I visit my parents just down the street we pick something up from Mike's or from the incredible meat market next door. It really is a fantastic location and it has really grown over the years. I personally order their ham and cheese sub with lettuce tomato and mayo. They usually don't put a lot of ham on the sandwiches but they do give a generous amount of toppings and mozzarella and they use really good quality mozzarella. I also like grabbing a medium three topping pizza every now and then. I personally love their crust but it depends on your taste. The crust is light and fluffy and pliable. It's not hard and crunchy as some may like. If you want the crust to have a little more bite you can always ask them to leave it in the oven for a little longer, but your toppings will also get crispier too, just a heads up.

Hands down the best pizza in town not the cheapest but trust its worth every penny. Super friendly people and atmosphere. Mike is the pizza GOAT!

My family has been buying from Mike's for years, maybe a decade by now, and the food has always been fantastic. Hot and fresh, good ingredients and quick service. Tonight we had a bit of a problem, when they forgot a sald and mixed up "cheese steak" and "cheese sticks." Honestly, my dad mumbles so bad, the cheese stick one is totally on my dad and his inability to pronounce words! Haha. But having missing food from an order is never fun, and can cause a lot of discomfort. Before we had the chance to call, complain and get all upset, Mike called us and apologized. Refunded the missing/mumbled food and gave us a discount for next time. I dont know how to say this with more effusiveness, no one does this anymore. No one is so on top of their own business that they know, in minutes, that they've made a small mistake. Then to have the class to call and make it right before we had the chance to get all upset; it shows character and class that is desperately lacking in today's world. My parents love you guys, and would have kept going back no matter what. But now me, my family and any friend that will listen will also be going out of our way to patron your restaurant. Thank you for being decent in indecent times. You are appreciated. You are loved. Stay awesome.

We were driving home from Grand Rapids and happened upon this jewel. All the employees were polite and happy, the cook who I believe is also the owner brought us our pizza . We were checked on multiple times for our needs and satisfaction and was even suggested alternative sizing to save us money . 10/10 recommend this place.

Five stars! We visit Mike’s quite often—it's easily one of our favorite spots. Everything we’ve had has been fantastic, from, awesome pizza, lasagna to a good beer, and most recently, the cheesecake (which was absolutely amazing). This place has fantastic food. We usually order pizza to go, but every once in awhile we dine-in. Most recently, I took my daughter and we ordered wings, cheesy bread, and some pasta. The pasta wouldn't be my go-to but the wings, pizza, and cheesy bread are always delicious no matter what you get. The one caution I will provide is they are always busy (due to the delicious food) so if you are eating or ordering at what is considered normal dinning hours, expect to wait. There are some nights we have thought about ordering a pizza and been told it would be an hour and a half before it was ready. I've always appreciated their honesty because sometimes the wait is worth it but sometimes little bellies can't wait that long. Same with dine-in. They are usually packed so sometimes service can be a little slow but they are always kind and helpful. It doesn't deter us from returning.

Mikes Pizzeria & Tavern is one of the best places to get a VARIETY of food. One of my personal favorites is the Detroit deep dish pizza! It is unmatched! First time Detroit-style taster here! We were visiting nearby when we decided to grab some pizza as our late dinner. Mike’s, being around the corner, was our ideal distance. Our order was a double sauce, no cheese (sorry, we have lactose issues!) supreme pizza. After 20 minutes, we arrived to pickup only to find that our order had swapped instructions, double cheese no sauce! The cashier and pizza maker immediately rectified the situation with their positive hospitality and friendly composure - they went to make a new pizza and offered to deliver it to our vehicle as we waited. Sure enough, 10-15 minutes later and 50% off our initial cost, we got the pizza. The first detail we noticed was how beautifully prepared it was - the ingredients were blended and balanced where each bite felt exactly like the last. The second detail was the base of the crust being slightly undercooked to the point where the crust looked and felt like mozzarella. The latter is likely a result of feeling the need to rush our order since it had to be remade. However, the rest of the crust was perfect. This is a safe five star corner pizzeria that is sure to satisfy the whole party - that and the great customer service easily ranks it above the dominos and pizza huts. The undercooked dough is the only reason why I went for four stars, but I believe our order was an anomaly!

I am home eating the pizza I just bought from Mike's. My son got a meatball sub. Both, for a lack of a better word, is somewhat dry. The sub could have had more sauce to it and the pizza, while not really bad, is not as good to me personally as people said it would be. I have had better around GR. If I am out that way again and wanting a pizza, i would go back. The service was top notch. very friendly and great atmosphere.

The pizza was decent. Really no complaints about it. The thing I found disturbing was going in to pick up the pizza I noticed the sign on the door that said a mask was required. That made a little difference to me as I always wear a mask in public. However going into the restaurant to pick up the pizza the lady at the cash register was not wearing a mask. When she asked me if I wanted a receipt I said no thank you. If she can't be bothered to wear a mask who knows if her hands are even clean. I bet you could do better if you tried....

The other reviews here are blowing my mind. The pizza was bad, full stop. The cheese seemed fake and there was no sauce on the pizza. The bread was also bad. I'd advise avoiding this place.

Ordered garlic toast and lasagna. Big mistake! They use hot dog buns for garlic bread and the pasta...forget about it! I'm still alive , yet turning in my grave on this hot mess. No thanks...won't be returning. My opinion...it sucks!

Asked about order and get told it got put in the oven way padt an hour. Order was late by 30 mins. We loved the pizza but hate when we get service like this. Its very disappointing when this happens.

Their website states they do dine in, carry out, and deliver. Nothing on delivery aera, miles, or time. Website also states, "Proudly Serve Alto, Alaska, Caledonia, Cascade and Ada." That is not true, i live in Caledonia, 1/2 mile from the village. They will not deliver. You do not serve all of Caledonia. Change your misleading website.
