My first experience with actual genuine Texas barbecue and I was not disappointed. I wish I could’ve stayed longer instead of just passing through Amarillo, just so I could try more off their menu. Fantastic food, great service, and a very Texan vibe inside. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!

A hidden gem in Texas bbq. Old school service with legit bbq. The brisket was perfect, tender and good bark. Ribs perfect with a good kick. Loved this place.

Awesome smoke taste and meat was kinda dry, but I did go late. The sauce made up for the dry ness. Love this bbq/smoked meat! Wld suggest a visit! Flavor is extraordinary! The jalapeno cornbread is very good.

Very good barbeque to say the least. The brisket is tender, full of bark and extremely moist - cut it with a fork. Potato salad that is the right balance of sweet with mustard + very moist turkey. Mike's makes Texans proud ! Plus, some really neat decor and lots of space to choose from either indoors or out on the covered patio.

Stopped in after a google search while on the road. It’s not hard to get to off i-40 but it’s not as convenient as other places. I DO recommend the side trip. Excellent brisket and ribs. The Mikearoni is fantastic, mac and cheese is standard bbq fare but this is different, was spiced with green chile and was so delicious! The sauce they call regular is pretty good sweet/vinegar/tomato style and the spicy sauce is exactly that very tasty but has, what I call, stacking heat ( the more you eat the hotter it gets) The potato salad was typical southern style a little sweetness, but good. I had banana pudding for dessert and it was excellent! Highly recommend the short side trip for this bbq !!!

In Texas you have to stand out in the BBQ scene. This restaurant just does that! Place was easy to find. Lots of available parking. Country chic decor. Beef brisket was soft and smokey, just how I like it. Staff are very friendly.

Ribs were excellent. Nice smoke and great seasoning. Brisket was pretty good but not a showstopper. Spicy BBQ sauce had great flavor as did the banana pudding. Beans were bland and disappointing.

Definitely a fun place to go eat, we got a family pack for the four of us and we were not disappointed. The surroundings are very well decorated and interesting. Our server was extremely courteous and polite. This is not really a place you would take someone on a posh date, but awesome for cowboy and girl types 🤠, though I don’t think I saw any places to tie up your horse.

I've eaten here for years. This was the first year we had it for Christmas and after spending $80, I feel like it was not worth it. The ribs were awesome. But the pound of brisket we got was not good at all. Usually I can trust their BBQ, I'll just stick to small items from now on. Definitely was not worth the money.

So it's called Spicy Mike's for a reason. My wife enjoyed her meal but I'm just not into spicy food, even the mac & cheese that I got as a side was spicy. We ordered brisket and ribs which were good and they give you 3 sides with your meal. I didn't think prices were too bad, I just thought the food was okay. The atmosphere inside was cute, it was very western. All the employees were wearing masks and I thought the service was really good. They're located in a good part of town and the restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean but only accommodate one person at a time. If you like spicy food, I would certainly recommend trying Spicy Mike's.

Been going to spicy mikes since they were in the building across the street from their current location. Pretty disappointed in the quality of the chopped beef lately. No bark, doesn’t look like it’s even been smoked, dry gray color. This is several times in a row it looks like I’ve gotten chopped up leftovers from the week before.

I had high hopes for Spicy Mike’s BBQ in Amarillo, Texas, but unfortunately, my recent visit was nothing short of disappointing. We were eager to try their BBQ chicken and even called ahead to ensure they had it available. The person on the phone assured us they did, so we drove over, arriving just 10 minutes later. To our surprise, as soon as we walked in, we noticed the board stating they were out of chicken. Confused, we stood in line behind two other customers, despite there being two employees standing idly who didn’t bother to greet us or offer any assistance. Their cold and unfriendly demeanor was off-putting from the start. In fact, nobody acknowledged us from the moment we walked through the door, which speaks volumes about the lack of customer focus in this establishment. When it was finally our turn, we asked about the chicken, mentioning that we had called just minutes earlier. The employee at the counter told us they had “run out” of chicken 10 minutes prior. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering it was only 4 PM, and they were open until 8 PM. How do you run out of chicken so early in the evening, especially after confirming over the phone that you had it available? It’s disappointing to see that customers aren't the main focus at Spicy Mike's BBQ. Instead of prioritizing customer service, the staff seemed more concerned with tasks like stocking supplies while patrons waited in line. Southern hospitality and common courtesy were noticeably absent, leaving us feeling ignored and undervalued. Overall, our experience at Spicy Mike’s BBQ was marred by poor customer service and a sense of dishonesty. It felt like we were misled, and our visit was a waste of time. We left without ordering anything and with no intention of returning. Spicy Mike’s may have a reputation for good barbecue, but their service and reliability leave much to be desired.
