This place is perfect. The picture is the bloody Mary and it was definitely worth the drive over. Service was excellent and the crowd was a good mix. Definitely a regulars type place so if you're in the area I recommend going often and making friends.

Amarillo, Texas —- The “Handle Bar and Grill” is a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite for many reasons. For starters, it’s located on Historic Route 66. Another reason is it’s in a vintage gas station building. Next, it’s an independently owner/operated business - SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT BUSINESS! Then there is the food. I know this should be 1st on my list of reasons, but the reasons mentioned 1st got me in the door. The food will get me to return. I like the menu selections, and the Saturday/Sunday only breakfast menu. My tacos were tasty-riffic! The counter/bar seating is always a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite seating option. Lots of atmosphere/flair ... the original Texaco sign, nice neons, window-views of Route 66, indoor table seating for folks with pARTy Pals, and then plenty of outdoor seating facing Historic Route 66. “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! .... and will return! 02.04.21

Great. The food and drinks are good. Right off of Route 66. Burgers are amazing. Wait staff is very friendly. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor you can have pets and that was great because we brought out pup out.

Crazy hours I can't get dinner with the hours but when they are open the have great burgers and the biker bites are amazing! drinks are fresh and they are quick to help you and quick to bring out the food. Everything tastes fresh and cooked perfectly! They have a fun game outside also if you can figure it out. They have inside and outside seating. They even have some merch to buy if you are really feeling it! The bathrooms are also always clean when I go in there. A must try on on the Rt.66! Bike parking to the east and car parking on the west and an extra parking area on the east as well

Ever since The Handle Bar opened it never ceases to impress! The service is always consistent, it’s absolute crap!!! They never have enough help to cover the inside bar, and the patio area. Had to order my drinks at the bar. Asked if they had someone covering the patio, and was told by the bartender, “Yes, I’ll be out in a couple minutes to take your order.” 10 minutes later I went in to place my order along with 2 others in our group. One couple ordered a Philly and a kids grilled cheese; everyone got there order except the easiest thing to make. The EFFIN GRILLED CHEESE!!! I asked about it, and was told I could make it myself if I thought I could do it faster…Another 15 minutes it finally comes out!!! Tipped her 3¢, and I’m 99.99% sure she doesn’t even know what that means! Keith, I don’t expect special treatment regardless of the number of $$$’s I’ve spent there over many years, but I do expect a decent level of service!!! You’d think you could fix this after I don’t even know how many years! 🤷🏼🙆🤦 If possible I would give a .25 Star rating… WILL NOT go back.

I made the dreadful decision to attempt to give this bar a chance. The name sounded cool "Handle Bar" and I love to bar-hop. Now, I am an opened minded individual and I give EVERYBODY a chance. There was ZERO judgement from me walking into the bar. Here's how it went down: I walked up to the door and placed my hand on the door handle when I was immediately harassed by the owner who was sitting at a table on the outside patio. He asked, "Who are you" and "Why are you here?" Well, doesn't common sense tell you that I am at the bar to either 1) grab a drink -or- 2) order some food? Why, based on my appearance, would the owner attack me like that? Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe the owners behavior. Prejudicial is the word. The owner obviously favors a certain type of people. I was judged by the small minded owner (and his bartender) at this bar when trying to be open minded. To make matters worse, I was further harassed by them over the phone. Owners staff begin calling me as they were huddled in groups laughing and screaming insults. Do not go here unless you are a part of the KKklan F------------- Rate 0/10
