Beautiful resort in a gorgeous location. If you want to get away and relax with out the thumping of a local dance club nearby this is the place. The room was spacious and beautiful. They kept it clean and could hardly find a grain of sand anytime in it. Beach was beautiful and the pools were fantastic. Had lots of waterpark type stuff for the kids, but ours are in their 30’s now. So it was quiet for us and restful. A few times the service was a little slower than island time and had one negative interaction with one of the bartenders in. The lazy River area. Not rude, but felt like she was put out with our request. All in all it was a great stay and would love to go back
This trip mattered to us more than most. This was our third time on Anguilla from December 8 through the 13th, but our first time traveling as new parents with our daughter. More than a vacation, this trip was a marker for us. We wanted to see if travel could still be part of our lives with a new addition and whether we could do it in a way that truly prioritized her comfort, safety, and routine. Aurora Anguilla gave us a clear answer. Yes. We have stayed on the island before at Champagne Shores Villa and at the Four Seasons, both great experiences. That said, Aurora has certainly given us a reason to come back. The accommodations were excellent, and we were graciously upgraded to a Junior Suite in the Island Building, which made a meaningful difference traveling with an infant. The resort went above and beyond to support our daughter’s needs. A special refrigerator was placed in our room so we could safely store her milk, and a crib was provided as well. These details may seem small, but as new parents they matter, and they made our stay far more comfortable and stress free. The shuttle service from the airport was A1. We flew with our car seat and did not even need it because Aurora provided one for us. The welcoming staff were more than pleasant, which is important to note because our previous trip in March to the Goldwynn in the Bahamas was a very poor experience that left a bad taste for us. Because of that, I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews here before arriving, as a few sounded similar to what we experienced previously. I can confidently say that could not have been further from the truth. A couple of friends and I played a few rounds of golf during the week at one of the nicest courses I have ever seen. On our last trip when we stayed at Champagne Shores, we were able to walk the Avalon Course, which was an amazing experience. The 18 hole International Course at Aurora is something completely different, in a very good way. Highly recommended if you are looking for a family friendly resort with great golf options. Our shuttle drivers Wendell and Ira were outstanding, and I cannot thank them enough for their help throughout the week. Justin Time was also A1 with customer service and always made sure my family was comfortable. True to his name, he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. I went on a run one morning, and halfway through my 5K he somehow appeared with water when I needed it most. The staff overall were excellent. There was another gentleman who helped us frequently during our stay whose name escapes me. He was taller and heavier set and consistently made sure our family and friends were taken care of at all times. If I had one area for improvement, it would be the in person concierge service, which I would rate about a 3 out of 5. I tried to adjust a few golf tee times and was told they were handled when they were not. The vibes were a bit off, but nothing that came close to ruining the trip. The woman at the golf pro shop was very helpful and made adjustments on the fly, which we appreciated. To be fair, all concierge bookings handled via email prior to arrival were professional and very responsive. I would not vouch for the food as a must travel experience, but that is fairly consistent across the island. Everything was decent, just nothing that truly stood out. All in all, we cannot wait to return next year with our family. This will be a staple trip for us, and we will certainly try to stay on the Rendezvous side next time. Many thanks to the Aurora team. My wife and I were avid travelers before our baby girl joined us, and you helped us see that travel is still very much possible with a new bundle of joy. She enjoyed her time as well. I cannot recommend this property enough. If you are deciding between Aurora and the Four Seasons, stay at Aurora. You can always visit the Four Seasons spa.
Just returned from Aurora. This place was great, the resort is wonderful and the people are amazing and genuine. My advice is find Reynaldo early (check C Level beach bar), if you are lucky you will find Sherman with him! Rey made our trip. Saying he went above and beyond is an understatement, I consider him a friend. His inclusive personally connects people from different places and made us feel like we were at a gathering with people that we already knew. Don't forget to check if Bankie Banx is playing nearby, which was also an unforeseen highlight!
The rooms are great, large balcony and bathroom. Unbelievable ocean views and very clean beaches. On the higher end of our budget but it’s been a great week.
Stayed here for my birthday last week and this place is absolutely amazing. This is the low season so it was really quiet. There weren’t many people staying at the resort which made it even better. But if you decide to visit during this time you have to be mindful that most places on the resort and the island are closed. Tokyo Bay restaurant opened the day after we got there and the steak house wasn’t open. The food at the restaurants was really good, but oddly enough they didn’t have lobster (whole lobster) or pepper sauce. I’ve never been to an island restaurant or resort that didn’t have locally made pepper sauce. We rented a car for a couple of days and went off resort to try a couple of the locally owned restaurants where we were able to get whole grilled lobster and it was AMAZING! Tasty’s and Ocean Echo are a must try. The island only has one main road so we were able to drive from end to end. It was great. Please note that the service may be slow at the busier restaurants so be patient because they are on island time.
The best hotel in Anguilla (Rendez-Vous side only) - better than the Four Seasons and Cap Juluca. Why? The best beach, the best calm and quiet vibe, the best service and people - thank you to Keila and Justin Time. They are absolute diamonds.
Staff is super friendly and professional, zero attitude. The resort is beautiful and the gym is amazing. I had one of the best massages from Desroy and a wonderful facial too. Food was delicious, we tried three locations on property and room service, zero complaints on food qualify and taste. It's been very windy but still enjoyable. You have access to check out bikes and ride around the property. It takes about 3 hours to get to resort from St Maarten, so many passport checks and getting shuttled from airport to boat to hotel etc.
Everything about this resort is amazing. The views will take your breath away, the staff is kind, the food is delicious, and the rooms are meticulously clean. In addition to all of this, the resort has a host of on site activities included in your stay. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is your place!
My husband and I had such an amazing time at this resort. Every detail of the property is well thought out. We loved everything! The staff at the beach and pool were great and extremely kind. In terms of bar service, Jessica and Dave were some of the friendliest and most professional people I’ve ever met. We enjoyed laying by the beach, the pool, and the water park (with its swim up bar) is also fun for adults. If you come to Anguilla, Aurora is the place to stay! Be sure to get a black truffle burger by the pool and head to D Richardson’s for a steak dinner.
Run - don’t walk to Aurora Anguilla for your next trip! The grounds, staff and food were absolutely PHENOMENAL! Our oceanfront beach suite was extremely clean, and our favorite dinner was at their steakhouse, D’Richards! Petal and Devon, the bartenders, made us feel like family as did the rest of the staff. Staff members surprised us with dessert and a “happy honeymoon” sweets platter to recognize our honeymoon, and the other patrons on property helped us celebrate as well. 10/10 highly recommend and will definitely be headed back soon!
We spent a delightful week here right after they opened the new water park. A highlight for us was asking for a tour of the landscaping and gardens. The grounds director took us throughout the property discussing the flora and fauna and then even showed us the hydroponic gardens where many of the resort fresh veggies and fruits are grown. The service throughout the resort was incredible. There was always someone ready to help.
We have just returned from our 3rd trip to the Aurora Anguilla and just when you think the property, service and staff couldn't get any better it does! This hotel is more than 5 stars from the impeccable property, beautiful beaches and incredible service where staff remember you from previous visits. The rooms are also huge and well equipped. As for food, it's some of the best you will find at any hotel. I actually think their Italian restaurant Oliva is the best restaurant on the island. With golf, tennis and the waterpark this is the best property in the Caribbean. And even though they are hitting on all strides, the property and staff continue to improve and upgrade. They have recently added a coffee and gelato shop in the lobby which is perfect for that afternoon break, a complimentary kids buffet during festive week, and additional water sport toys. The service is like beyond and the word "no" simply doesn't exist. The staff and management go out of their way to make sure you and your family have the perfect vacation.
Absolutely Incredible! The reviews are all true and the rooms were much bigger and better in person than pictures show. Food was great, staff and service were all amazing. Beach was always available with beautiful lounge chairs and umbrellas with towels. Water coolers at every group of chairs filled with water bottles. Golf had a great practice area, driving range and full course plus a par 3 that was world class. Special thanks to Sumara, Justin Time, Devon, Jocelyn(chef) Shante, Tony, and all of the lovely people that drove us everywhere as we explored the grounds. This was truly a tropical oasis with fantastic views from everywhere, lots of activities (water park, pickle ball, baci ball, basketball, tennis) we had our college age kids with us and they absolutely loved this place it was magical. We can't wait to go back!
My daughter and I travel together often, and recently returned from a week vacation at Aurora Anguilla. Our stay was so good I felt compelled to write this review. The property itself was absolutely beautiful, lacking nothing in way of entertainment. The rooms and facilities were all immaculate and well cared for. The biggest difference between this and other resorts we’ve stayed at were the people, who truly were authentic, positive and most hospitable in a very genuine way. The attention to detail, and anticipation they showed in tending to their guests was very impressive. In particular, Tara at the front desk was incredibly helpful and attentive to any possible need one might have. She is stellar at her job, most welcoming and deserves special recognition. Aurora is lucky to have her, as well as all the others that made our trip so memorable. This is truly a 5 star resort on all counts. We can’t wait to go back.
Amazing experience! Gorgeous resort and everyone is extremely nice and welcome. You feel like you are part of a family when you stay here. All of the staff we interacted with were courteous, welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Management team is excellent. Rooms and property were incredible. Plenty of activities for young kids as well. Delicious food. An unforgettable vacation and I can't wait to go back. I would only stay here at Aurora and no place else.
I wish I could give more than 5 starts! We stayed at Aurora for our wedding anniversary trip / baby moon and the welcome we received was unbelievable… from the welcome drinks, to the room set up complete with balloons, chocolate covered strawberries and even a pregnancy pillow, to our upgraded suite. The service was absolutely amazing- the workers were by far the nicest people we met on the island. The resort and beach were pristine! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Aurora!
One of the best hotel I have been. Service is excellent. The staff smile, polite and always looking to make your experience better. Tokyo restaurant is fabulous but The Chef Table’s restaurant could do way better. Activities are great, this is paradise for the kids. Will definitely be back.
There’s nothing but good to say. And the staff is A+++. They want you to be happy all the time and go out of their way to make sure of it. Plus the property is absolutely gorgeous and very well taken care of 24/7! Thanks Justin Time and Lynval for always making sure my fiance and family are perfectly happy. 😃
Our stay at the Aurora Anguilla was nothing short of magical. From the greeting and ride to the airport to our welcome drinks and introduction to our amazing concierge Calivon the trip was perfection from the start. As you arrive at the resort you are immediately transported with beautiful views from the lobby and unbelievable suites. The staff everywhere at the resort are friendly, kind and make you feel at home. Antoinette pulled out all the stops and helped my now fiancé plan the most romantic proposal at the beach complete with a photographer and our room decorated to perfection. The food was wonderful and the service at every restaurant even better. We started our first dinner with Natalie who was absolutely amazing as well as everyone else there. We can’t wait to come back to this wonderful place.
Wonderful property with a friendly and attentive staff. The beach is beautiful and our family enjoyed the pool and waterpark as well.
Didn't stay but went to the beach here and had dinner at Tokyo Bay. Two things...the people who work at this resort are some of the nicest people we met while on vacation. We were not guests at the hotel but we were treated like we were. Our dinner was fabulous and again we were treated like guests. We had sushi that was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
Great resort, clean, expansive, near luxury. Staff super friendly and helpful--get to know Justin Time (not his real name), what a great, friendly, helpful and genuine human who does wonders representing Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club!
Phenomenal resort with a 5 star staff. The food, atmosphere, and staff were amazing. The beach is clean and the complimentary water sports provide many fun additional activities. I specifically want to recognize “Keemi” and the entire beach staff as they go the extra mile to make the trip wonderful. Additionally, the entire breakfast staff at Chefs Table. Highly recommend this resort!
This resort is beautiful, every detail has been considered and the cuisine is of a very high standard. The true gem of this resort is Tara at the front desk of Mary view, the attention to detail and the support set this apart from every other resort we have travelled to. The drive to provide a great experience is unparalleled. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Kurt
Some of the best dining ive ever experienced. Absolutely special. A visit D Richards Steakhouse is a must before heading home.
Aurora was an absolute amazing experience. We are a family of 7 with adult children and a grandchild. The Villas are amazing fully stocked, beautifully maintained and very luxurious. There were activities for all. We did Pickelball, golf, the splash pad and lots of time in pools and on the beach. The staff was amazing, attentive and friendly. The resort is gorgeous and having the bikes and golf cart to get around was great! Can’t wait to go back
The Aurora is a fantastic resort I highly recommend and hope to return soon. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays during our stay. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to celebrate (thank you for the birthday cake and balloons). The resort is beautiful-just big enough to offer a variety of activities (we played pickleball, golf, gym, beach) and small enough to feel special and intimate. We had the most gorgeous ocean view suite. The housekeeping staff kept our place clean and stocked-a special call out to Vicoria (hope I have that right). Rakeem was our concierge and he assisted with reservations and recommendations-very helpful and very nice. We spent most of our time golfing and at the beach - using the hobie cat and swimming in the turquoise water. Beach staff was very friendly and helpful. Our flight home was cancelled after we already checked out of the resort-we returned and the front desk staff took care of us as we checked back in for the night. What really stands out at the Aurora is the staff-friendly, kind and helpful. Thank you Aurora staff for an outstanding week
Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club exceeded expectations in every way. Our family had been frequent guests of the property in its first incarnation as CuisinArt and absolutely loved it. The new owners have done a marvelous job in retaining the charm and amazing service while updating and expanding the facilities. The staff of the resort is beyond wonderful. Aurora’s concierge manager, Delvera, was amazing in the pre-planning stages of the trip through email. She arranged our boat transfer from SXM as well as all dinner reservations on and off property. Delvera also suggested and organized a marvelous island excursion by boat charter one of the days which was a highlight of the trip. You are treated as family the moment you arrive at Aurora. Our personal concierge, Justin Time, immediately shared his mobile phone number and was indispensable through the trip, arranging and accommodating any request we had. He was exemplary in every way. Prompt and thorough responses. He is an absolutely amazing concierge. Our room on the Merriwing side was lovely. Clean, open, and airy. Very large bathroom and walk-in closet. A gorgeous patio with stunning views to the beach. We would not hesitate to book this same room for our next stay. The sprawling property has two pools, an extensive water park for the kids, and two beaches. In the past, we visited off-season as we like to avoid crowds, but we were very pleasantly surprised to find the hotel did not feel crowded at all during the height of the spring break season! With ample infrastructure, guests spread out, and there is not the ‘beach chair grab’ going on. The pools, beaches, and restaurants are not overcrowded. The staff in every area of the hotel is beyond wonderful. Zen, Theresa, Monique, Joyce, Claudia…I could go on and on. Every single person is unbelievable in their attention to detail. We were so pleased to find that the greatest asset of this resort remains the same: the unbelievable hospitality, warmth, and care of its people. We cannot wait to return.
WOW what a wonderful week. Perfect weather to enjoy this beautiful island resort. The staff makes everyone feel welcome and at home. Justin Time is a great ambassador for the resort and the island. The staff at the spa were very accommodating. We enjoyed the food at several different restaurants. This is a perfect location to lay back and relax.
Aurora Anguilla Golf Resort continues to exceed every expectation—even on our third visit! This time, the resort became an even more meaningful place for us, as we chose to get married here. From start to finish, the entire experience was truly magical. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with the biggest smiles from Jermaine and Rasheem, who remembered us by name and made us feel instantly at home in paradise. Their warmth set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Our butlers, Mimi and Jahmal, provided an exceptional level of care. They were always one step ahead of our needs and genuinely committed to making every moment special. Their service was flawless and heartfelt. Planning our wedding was a breeze thanks to the incredible Roxanne. She is a true professional and such a kind soul—she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and we couldn’t be more grateful. She made us feel completely at ease and turned our vision into reality. A special thank you to Justin Time for his joyful spirit and thoughtful surprise in our room after our ceremony and dinner. He always made a point to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed, adding an extra layer of care to an already perfect trip. Dining at Aurora is always a highlight. Every meal was spectacular—D.Richard’s, Tokyo Bay, Chef’s Table, and C Level all delivered exceptional cuisine and service. Kenville at D.Richard’s made our wedding dinner feel like a Michelin-star event, with his attention to detail and warm hospitality. Breakfasts at Chef’s Table were a joy, especially with Nievan as our server. He knew exactly what we liked and greeted us each morning with a smile and thoughtful questions about our plans. My wife was beyond pleased with the spa services and the talented Estella, who made her feel absolutely beautiful with professional hair and makeup services for our big day. A huge part of what makes Aurora so exceptional is the thoughtful leadership of General Manager Neevan. He is the visionary behind the scenes who brings this world-class experience to life. His commitment to top-quality service is reflected in every detail and in every team member—from the butlers to the servers to the spa staff. You can tell that the culture of excellence at Aurora starts with him. Aurora Anguilla isn’t just a resort—it’s a place that feels like home, thanks to the incredible staff who make every guest feel like family. We’re already counting the days until we return to this slice of heaven next year!
The best hotel we were treated like royalty. Staff was extra nice. Rooms were magnificent and great amenities.
Absolutely fabulous hotel in pristine condition. Everything from the rooms to the pool, beach, golf course, etc. are maintained beautifully and are very modern and clean. The beaches and pools aren't very crowded, so you feel like you're having a private stay. Service was exceptional, especially the room attendants. Every detail is thought through, such as having coolers with icy cold water at every pool & beach seat. Views are stunning. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for paradise. It fits a variety of traveler types as well - couples, families with children, etc. There is something for everyone from exceptional golf to delicious restaurants to relaxing pools and beachfront to activities like the water park, mini golf, bocce ball, playgrounds, etc. We never left the resort and never felt the desire to. Absolutely incredible all around!!!
We LOVED every second of our stay at Aurora. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the warmest welcome. Everyone who works at Aurora is so kind and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The views spectacular. We loved our time on both the Rendezvous and Merrywing side. Merrywing has much easier access to the waterpark and entertainment areas which was a plus for our family with teens. We loved the food and drinks everywhere we went on property as well. You cannot go wrong with choosing to stay here. We haven’t even left yet (we fly out tomorrow) but already know how much we will miss it! I wish I could give everyone a shout out because they are all spectacular but a special shout out to Sweet Z for her fun personality all week long!
We were extremely impressed with this resort. Each staff member we came across were friendly, helpful, and courteous. We had a great time and the resort was beautiful. We would like to especially recognize Rakeem. He was extremely helpful and answered each and every question we had. His professionalism was beyond reproach! Rakeem is definitely an asset to the resort. Thank you!
Didn't stay at the resort but used the fantastic golf course. Fairways were beautifully maintained and in fact were nearly my usual green standard. The full 18 holes were all amazing with plenty of length, water and culminating in a superb green. Staff were super efficient and courteous also. Recommended
What an incredible property! This resort is built around fun for the entire family as there are literally dozens of great activities to keep everyone entertained for days. The golf was top notch, snorkeling right off the powder white sand beach, waterpark, mini golf, racquet sports, horseback riding, yoga... What also stands out is the quality of the food, multiple dining options and caring staff members who add to the welcoming and special environment. Highly recommend Aurora Anguilla!
Hotel rooms are perfect, comfortable, and well stocked. Staff is very friendly. Grounds are beautiful. The course views are to die for. There are endless things to do. I'm still giving it 5 stars, because I didn't plan to eat on site much, but the food is just okay. Adequate for breakfast and lunch, but maybe explore local options for dinner. The hotel will offer some suggestions and easily arrange for transportation. Beaches are picture perfect.
I don't typically leave reviews, but this resort deserves for everyone to know it is 5 stars all around. We stayed for our 10yr anniversary. The manager had a near constant presence in the lobby. He could not have been more accommodating, beyond any level of hands on service I've ever experienced from a manager. We were amazed with the beauty of the resort upon arrival and then absolutely dumbfounded by the breathtaking upgrade they blessed us. Beautiful grounds, beautiful room, beautiful beach! Location is perfect, can walk down beach to non resort food/drink venues as well. The gym was top notch, best hotel gym ever per my husband. The yoga class was expert level, wow! I've been to some high end wellness resorts lately and I can't put my finger on why exactly, but this massage and facial were absolute magic! Better than any I've ever had. Food was fine. All of the staff are just good, nice, fun, hardworking people, and expertly trained. We honeymooned in Anguilla 10 yrs ago; we have been back many times since at all levels of accomodation, but this will be our favorite place to stay from now on. We can't wait to come back with kids as there is also a water park! Absolute dream vacation, could not recommend more highly!!!
Only through the vision of new owner Richard Michael Schulze and his investment of untold millions of dollars in upgrades and the extraordinary attention to details make this a premier and beautiful experience. From Justin Time, the Ambassador ,all staff and (briefly meeting GM Petra Trapp) the welcoming experience was unmatched. The room presentation, restaurants, beach fronts, building facilities, golf course, splash park/entertainment center, landscaping, and all grounds are well maintained in excellent condition and are absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend the VIP Arrival/Departure service when planning to stay if you fly into Saint Martin Airport. Our flight in was delayed in to SXM four hours. We would have missed the last regular ferry from Marigot. Only through this VIP service at SXM was the official Angullia port entry at Blowing Point arranged to be kept open later and a private boat transfer to Anguilla. Without it, this would require us to overnight on Saint Martin.
Gorgeous resort with a beautiful, safe beach and an incredible atmosphere. Mireille was outstanding — attentive, thoughtful, and always going above and beyond. Samaro also provided excellent service throughout our stay. Anguilla is a gem, and this resort made it even better. Highly recommend
Simply put —Paradise!! The most friendly and attentive staff! All were sweet and helpful but the Most Amazing of them were Janeen, Colleen, Rovin, Kevin, Tavern ZENREKA and Maurice!!! Our Taxi driver, Phoo! So Relaxing and special! Planning our next one soon!
Our stay at Aurora Anguilla was made truly unforgettable thanks to Jermaine. His kindness, genuine warmth, and extra level of hospitality went far beyond anything we expected. Jermaine consistently went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and cared for, always with a smile and thoughtful attention to detail. It’s people like him who transform a beautiful resort into a truly special experience. We are so grateful for everything he did to make our trip memorable and look forward to returning—hoping to see Jermaine again!
Great hotel - the property is meticulously maintained, the staff is friendly and very attentive, and the accommodations are very nice. The property’s location faces Saint Martin so you have the best view ever while enjoying the sun on their somewhat private beach (no beaches are private in Anguilla, but the hotel chairs are for hotel guests) Highly recommend! Please go to trip advisor for more detailed reviews!
We stayed here in June 2024 This resort is absolutely stunning and the staff is very kind. The beach is beautiful but you must stay on the rendezvous side like we did because there is less of a seaweed infestation. The pool was beautiful and very well maintained. Perfect views all around. The entertainment park was my favorite part because alot of detail was put in to make sure the kids had fun all while still feeling luxurious. My daughter loved it. My only 2 critiques which is why I did not rate this a 5 star resort: Food and Housekeeping. While my room was beautiful and huge, it didnt feel clean. There was an issue with ants in the bathroom in which I escalated and it somewhat resolved. My daughter would run around barefoot and her feet would be black. I asked them to properly mop the floor because it was pretty dusty/dirty but i felt like it went on deaf ears. It just wasnt as clean as i thought a room with that price tag should be. I think housekeeping doesnt do that great of a job to make it clean. I did not like the food at this resort. The only things I like was the lunch at breezes by the beach and breakfast buffet (which was alightly mediocure). The drinks were pretty delicious as well. The price for food is insane because of the 18% service & 13% tax added to every bill. For two people be ready to spend $100-200 every time. The options were also limited is you have dietary restrictions as not all restaurants are open everyday. My husband is a pescatarian and there was one night in which a seafood buffet was cancelled at the steakhouse so we had to eat at the japanese restaurant. He doesnt eat raw food so that was a bit it a challenge to feel full off of what he got. He oaid $60 for 1 leg of crab. I thought that was ridiculous but thats the price you pay for an expensive resort. Overall, i would recommend this place for ppl traveling with kids but get ready to spend on this beautiful vacation.
The rooms and staff were great. The one complaint was the Beech BBQ. The advertisement stated live music and a fire show. Neither one of these activities were present. It was very disappointing. The manager stated that the owners decided not to have those activities that specific night but they will have them the following week and they had had them the prior week. That did not help us that night. We had spent roughly $500 to dine on the beech with live music and a fire show. It was very disappointing.
Great location. Resort is huge. Wish it didn’t have two main sections, but rather one. Had to take a shuttle everyday to utilize the gym and breakfast buffet. Restaurants at the resort were just “ok”. Lunch was good at the beach restaurant “Breezes” but we ate outside of the resort 5/7 nights we were there. Wish there was nightly entertainment even if it was just DJ or one person acoustic musician. Went to lobby bar after dinner but most nights there was no one sitting at the bar. Entertainment may have livened up the atmosphere for sure! One thing that would def bring us back to the resort is the friendly staff. They were all phenomenal. A few suggestions along with nightly entertainment would be to have fresh fruit refilled in the rooms everyday and maybe at night a piece of chocolate on the pillows when the staff turns the bedroom’s down. More options at the breakfast buffet, as breakfast cost over $100 daily, on top of lunch & dinner. Would’ve of been nice if breakfast buffet was included in our stay along with the water ferry to and from St Martin, as this is already a very pricey vacation. All in all we enjoyed our stay. The location and cleanliness of the grounds is exceptional.
Hotel staff are all great (waitresses, cleaning, concierge) but you simply can't have guests wait 1 hour to get the entree, or 45-50 min between appetizers and entrees. It kills a beach day and ruins dinner. Its not the waitresses fault (they get you menus promptly and take the food orders promptly). It's the kitchen staff. At lunch at the beach restaurant (C Level) every guestwas simply baffled (and joking) that no food was coming out. At dinner at Oliva (we have a 1.5 yr old) we waited 50 min between apps and entree. We arrived at 7:10 and were served entrees at 8:30. And the food quality generally is quite mediocre (every restaurant has the same grilled snapper, the pasta bolognese was noodles in tomato sauce). Beautiful hotel, nice beach but you completely lose me when you so grossly understaff your kitchen. It kills the fun.
We have been on the island for a week. Travelled extensively thru out. We were here today as guests of a member. It was the worst service we have received on the whole island. Lunch was served to everyone I ordered a salad with snapper on top. My salad was tiny….it came out and then I must have waited another 15 mins for the snapper. I ordered a cocktail and it was terrible when I asked for it to be remade, the bar tender was not happy. Not at all impressed for such a stunning setting.
Executive summary: NEVER AGAIN. I chose this destination for my family, which includes 2 young children, because of the rave reviews and the splash pad. Unfortunately, from start to finish, this hotel was a complete letdown and I earnestly regret not staying at the Four Seasons. This isn't even close to a 5-star hotel; it has potential but they have a long way to go. An aloof staff that can barely summon the strength to greet you with a smile, unkept grounds and lacking maintenance, inconvenient amenities, and blackmail cabana pricing contributed to my sincere sense of relief once we checked out. The few people on property worth mentioning are Mr. Justin Time, Kyrie (shuttle driver), and Ms. Delvera. My biggest gripe with this property, by far, is the extortionist fee they attempt to charge for the cabanas that line the kids splashpad. They charge $450 for a cabana! We didn't see a single one rented our entire stay! They don't have ANY complimentary seating around the perimeter of the splashpad. If you want to watch your kid play, you either sit on the ground, stand, or pay the 450, all the while the lifeguard gets to sit in the shade and harass you that your kids didn't go down the slide properly. I have been to other actual 5-star hotels and the layout of the splashpad is fairly easy: you put some sunbeds around the splashpad, fence it in, and let the parents relax while their toddlers frolic on the tiny slides, etc. But on this splash pad, you're out of luck. I complained and I was offered a margarita for my troubles. To add insult to injury, the employees were using the "exclusive" cabanas as a place to have their pre-shift meeting ("training" as they called it). Do you guys not understand how bad the optics of that are? You want to charge tourists with children almost 500 bucks to sit in some cabana (which aren't even shaded) and yet you have your workers taking meetings in those very same cabanas? Get a clue! Also, the Kids/Teens zone is depressing. Look at the attached picture. Broken equipment (pool table) and no air conditioning. I would never leave my kids unattended there. Most of the toys were old and the shelves were bare. It really bummed me out just being in there. The grounds themselves are unkept. See the pictures. It is common in the evening to see multiple landscape lights that don't function, the sidewalks are narrow, weeds grow through the mulch. These are things you'd simply never see at a ritz Carlton or a 4 seasons. The air conditioning in the hotel elevator doesn't work. We had to take a shuttle to the other wing of the hotel to get a decent breakfast, since the Merry Wing doesn't offer A La Cart breakfast. And what did the hotel offer us for making my pregnant wife walk after promising us a shuttle to the splashpad? They gave us a hand written note with a 2-inch candle. What?! That's like showing up to a housewarming party with a box of toothpicks. Sure, you brought something...but you're better off not giving anything. You look incredibly cheap. How about you comp a dinner? Dare I say comp a night? Do better. You are a 3 star hotel.
Extremely Disappointing Experience at Aurora Anguilla (Merrywing Side) traveling with 5 and 3 year old for waterpark: I recently spent five nights at Aurora Anguilla on the Merrywing side of the resort, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below what I would expect from a property that claims to be an LVX and 5-star hotel. 1. Non-existent service The service was shockingly poor. Most staff members did not greet guests, did not say good morning, or offer basic hospitality. Instead, they often stared as we walked by. There was no warmth, attentiveness, or sense of genuine service anywhere on the property. I do want to say that Justin Time and the shuttle drivers were really friendly. 2. Kids’ water park issues & lack of seating The kids’ water park/splash pad has no regular seating available for parents unless they pay $450 for a cabana. With no lounge chairs or shaded options, parents are left standing or literally sitting on the ground—I ended up sitting on the waterpark floor (see photo). Not a single family was using a cabana, yet on one occasion 8–10 staff members were hanging out inside them and relaxing, which was incredibly unprofessional and frustrating (see photo). 3. Excessive and unreasonable rules The number of unnecessary rules at the waterpark is overwhelming. I have children ages 5 and 3 and I was not allowed to accompany them in the water. Staff constantly reprimanded kids for extremely minor things. For example: my son went down a slide on his belly and was told he could not use it anymore. My husband tried to accompany him on another slide and was also scolded. It created an unwelcoming and stressful atmosphere for families. 4. Poorly maintained grounds and unsafe facilities The grounds are not well maintained and lack the polish you’d expect from a luxury resort. Many common areas—including the kids’ club and even the elevators—have no air conditioning. It felt unsafe to leave children in the kids’ club due to the heat; overheating is a real concern. There is potential for nice landscaping and grounds but we noticed lots of weeds, not proper maintenance of a 5 start property. We tried to take a walk around the property after sun down but the campus is not well lit as lots of lights were out. 5. Not suitable for young families This resort is simply not ready for young families. During our entire stay, we saw maybe five families on this enormous property. The experience overwhelmingly reflects a focus on golf. We then realized that the kids splash pad/water park is relatively new. 6. Empty campus with disengaged staff Very few families with young children on this resort. Maybe 3-5 families? Despite the lack of guests, the campus was full of employees—but not in a helpful way. Instead of engaging with visitors, most employees were clustered together, chatting with each other while paying little attention to guests. The combination of an empty-feeling resort and uninterested staff created an atmosphere that felt awkward, neglected, and far from luxurious. ⸻ Overall, this resort does not deliver a 5-star experience and is nowhere near the level of service, comfort, or professionalism found at true luxury properties like the Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons. I will also be sharing my review with LVX, as this facility should not be one included. Our stay was deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend Aurora Anguilla to families expecting a genuine high-end resort experience.
