Really great place for nice atmosphere and delicious food! We came here after we realized our go-to spot for lobster rolls was closed that day. This place did not disappoint. My lobster roll was PACKED with delicious lobster meat. This place is definitely my new go-to!
Beautiful location on a creek/boatyard. Relaxing views and comfortable surroundings. Extremely friendly staff. Small and very delicious, well executed menu, with just the right variety. A very pleasant stop.
Real neighborhood feel with an elegant slant on the water, love it here, it’s now a regular stop for us
We had a delightful meal there last night 9/8/23 and We want to compliment all the staff for their excellent service with particular mention to our lovely waitress Amber, she couldn't have been nicer. Also busboy/girl who asked if we had finished rather than just whisking our plates away!Well trained. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked,my husband and I had the fried fish platter and my son the steamed mussels and clams ,all great. This was our first visit but not our last and highly recommend to friends for the lovely end to a nice trip to North Fork.Thank you to all.
Wonderful lunch, mussels and oysters were amazing and service was top notch. Food came out quick, very attentive, and nice quiet atmosphere.
Lamb chops were amazing! The lobster bisque, crab cake, and octopus were also great! Wonderful service and great atmosphere.
A very clean place, well organized. We came across from Mount Sinai Yacht. My wife and I brought my cousin from CA over and he loved the restaurant. Our server was excellent and the food was just as good.
Great place to dine. Sat outside and enjoyed the view of the boats/docks. Shrimp taco was fresh and delicious. I do recommend trying this restaurant.
Having been here several times for out Anniversary yearly, we knew what to expect. The atmosphere is amazing on the docks overlooking the Tranquil waters. It's a no Rush atmosphere. The Waiter , his name is Travis. He was above and beyond his duty. He knew the menu well and explained it as we selected our meal. Travis also gave us a insight of the Area. He is A local, so he gave us a great insight. Always made sure we had what we needed. My mine was set before I got there. So much to chose from appetizers to Entrees to desert. We had it all. It was my wife and I 46 wedding anniversary. No better place to spend it. Lots to chose, priced right. I had seafood and wife salmon. The atmosphere, the Waiter,The service, The price, and the Chef who prepared the meal was Awesome. See you soon. Travis is the go too Server.
There were 6 of us and we all had a wonderful time. Paula, our server, was amazing. Very pleasant and patient. We never had to wait for our cocktail's. Food was prompt and delicious. Lauren, at the bar, was also quite pleasant. It was overall an awesome experience.
TOOK MY MOTHER IN LAW FOR LUNCH I HAD A BLD THAT WAS DELICIOUS, SHE HAD THE FISH AND SHIPS, LOVED IT AND WE ORDERED CLAMS ON THE HALF SHELL, WE BOTH LOVED THEM, THEY TASTED LIKE THEY CAME RIGHT OF THE BOAT-FRESH, THE WAITRESS HEIDI WAS FANASTIC AND EXTREMELY FRIENDLY, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND
The food was delicious and the staff so friendly. The place has a nice view
Reasonable price great staff awsome plate cheap beer prices. Short rib was insanely good loved it
Good food, fast service and friendly wait staff. Even when it's super busy there isn't a long wait. I come for lunch or after work for drinks.
In the midst of the busy holiday season, we took a break and enjoyed a delicious lunch here. Our server was a young man who was very efficient and attentive. It was a cold but sunny day and the dining room was toasty warm. My husband and I shared the calamari which came out super fast, then we both had the shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious. We were very happy that we decided to come here!
Lovely setting! Overlooked marina. Food was great. Nice variety. Had many seafood items cooked in multiple ways. Looking forward to returning
I have to admit, it’s been a couple of years since my wife and I been here. We were regulars while it was Phil’s and we came about a dozen times after it became On The Docks. My wife felt AT THAT TIME, there was a noticeable drop in the food quality. Specifically in the dish she always ordered (she’s a picky eater). I was unaffected. I can eat meat of questionable origin on a stick cooked over a garbage can. To continue to be happily married, however, On The Docks fell off the list. We then heard that the legendary NOFO bartender Tim Starron, was now doing his mixing magic behind the bar. His cosmos and perfect martinis brought us back thru the door. I came twice in ONE week. “She who must be obeyed” proclaimed her dish was back to being great again and that Tim still makes the best Cosmo. I had a sampling of happy hour bites all of which were delicious. I held off one star on food, simply because I have yet to order a main meal yet, but no doubt That day is coming very soon Given the it’s one of the best local waterfront locations, now has one of the best local mixologists, and my wife likes the food, it will No doubt once again become a regular cocktail And dining spot.
The food was quick and tasted good. I had the seafood platter, and the presentation was a bit off. The view was beautiful, the staff was very nice. However, our waitress made an odd comment when we wanted to order our second drink, told us not to mix drinks.....really threw off the vibe for a group of 40-year-olds. We will be back, hoping it was just a one-off. Everyone else enjoyed their seafood pasta and chicken milanese. They also offer a nice selection for kids. Overall everything was reasonably priced as well.
Great food and location. The service can be spotty. I wish I would have just asked for a different waiter from the onset. He was less than hospitable.
Reasonably priced seafood and American fare with a great setting. The appetizers we got, buffalo wings and calamari, were perfect both in prep and portion size. The seafood we got was fresh and all of the food was prepared well without feeling particularly heavy. The ambiance was nice, the place had plenty of energy, situated right on the water adjacent to a well kept marina. Will definitely return for another meal in the future.
5 stars all the way! Had the chicken ceasar salad and the beef short ribs - SO GOOD. The drinks were also yummy and our server, Ian, was so so wonderful!!! We will definitely be back. So happy we stumbled across this spot.
Whenever I’m in the area on a nice weather evening we sit at the outdoor bar to eat. Great view of the boats at sunset. Food is consistently good. Service is always friendly. Wine list has some nice local options.
We had a great family dinner Saturday night at On the Docks. We had a drink at the inside bar and listened to a great band. Then ate out back. Our server was so friendly and helpful. We all loved our meals, the specials were so good and portions were big. We will definitely be going back soon.
The whole experience was wonderful. The food was creative and delicious (kudos to the inventive chef). The waiter (Matt) was attentive and informative. The ambiance of the restaurant had different vibes depending where you choose to be seated, bar with live entertainment, indoor dining with a pleasing view of the water, or outdoor seating looking over the bay. As for the pricing, it was incredibly reasonable. The five stars I gave were well deserved! Thank you Gus.
Nice place THis needs updating, as I ate there today On the Docks, Aquebogue 08/07/2024 It's been a while, 2 years, since I have been here. I always enjoyed it here, so it was with a feeling of anticipation that I looked forward to returning. It's located in a lovely setting, on a bucolic Estuary, of the Peonic Bay. Can be very peaceful, at times. I forgot how far away Abequegue is from West Islip, where I reside...Ughh, lol I arrived a bit early for my lunch with 7 other friends, so I sat in the bar that is in the front part of the restaurant, and completely seperate from the Dining room, until everyone arrived. They have a nice, tight menu, with enough choices to make a wide swath of people happy. Food choices for the group ranged from a Reuben, Duck, Short Rib, Shrimp Tacos, Salmon, Shrimp Pasta, and of course, my hamburger. There was also Shrimp Cocktail, and a Beet Salad I ordered the Chipotle burger, because it came with fried onions, always a favorite of mine, and bacon, with cheddar cheese. As always, I order it medium rare, no rabbit food, please toast the bun, and extra crispy fries. Im happy to share with you, that the burger was cooked to perfection. The meat the burger was made with was fantastic, and very tasty. A bit of earthiness, more than a hint of salinity, and a nice unctuous flavoring on my tastebuds. The bun to meat ratio was right there, as one did not overwhelm the other. It also had a nice buttery flavor to it, which was an added enhancement to the burger. The cheese was nice and creamy. Whoever melted that cheese on top of the burger knew what they doing. Perfect combination of meltiness, without torching the cheese to a drippy, tasteless mess. Another one in the plus column for the burger!! Im so glad I ordered it. It didn't make it into my Top 5, but it certainly is ensconced in my Mythical Top 10. It rates up there with many other very tasty Burgers, that are prevalent in Suffolk County. The French Fries were some of the best Ive had in a while. You can tell they cut them, then soak them, in house, the proper way. They had that distinct crunchy outside, skin on, with a soft, potatoey inside, that had hints of a buttery taste to it. I love it when I get a Top Tier Burger, along with great tasting, properly prepared, Hand Cut French Fries. It's one of lifes guilty pleasures!!😎 Everyone at the table was pleased with their meal, and the portions were sizable, especially the Short Rib. (I'm ordering that when I go back there!!) The Salmon was also a hefty portion, the Duck was also one of the larger duck portions Ive seen, and the Shrimp pasta portion would make a hungry man happy. The service was very good. Our waitress was cheerful, quick, and professional. The backdrop of being on the water adds to the positive experience we had. Although it was a dreary, and wet day today, it was still nice to catch up with friends in such a pleasant setting I will return On the Docks Aquebogue 08/07/2024
We love the place, they’re friendly. Good meals and drinks. They have a variety of dishes well prepared. It’s open year round. In The summer sunsets are spectacular, in the winter it’s nice that they keep their delicious menu. They’re a kid friendly restaurant. Also, they have a bar area with tall tables and sometimes there’s live music.
Extra special thanks to the manager Desiree for hosting my surprise engagement to the love of my life Latisha. She was very happy to help me make the evening exactly how I envisioned it. This is our favorite place to dine when we're in town. The food was awesome and our server Britney did an amazing job with everything. I could not have picked a better place to host my engagement. Thank you guys so much.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends at On the Dock. There were beautiful views of the boats along the water outside where we sat and live music. The food was delicious and attractively presented. We shared some yummy appetizers: egg rolls and spare ribs. Our entrees were wonderful, too: a grilled seafood platter, veal with mashed potatoes, and several pasta dishes. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating.
What a great find on the water! Family owned, clean and beautiful, On The Docks is a great place for a drink or a bite to eat. A working marina, it has an amazing view of the docks. We ate on the deck, outside. Drinks were delicious and fresh, and surprisingly affordable. The dinner was as expected, twenty something to low thirty something a plate. The fish was fresh and flaky. The blackened cod was amazing as was the bronzino. The watermelon Paloma was grand! I strongly suggest checking this place out, its a romantic spot as well as a great gathering with friends! Travis was a great server. Tell 'em Barsnobs sent ya!
We found this place to be such fun and entertaining. The venue is spacious but buzzing, the staff are really engaging, dogs are treated really well, the food was extremely tasty. we actually left a restaurant before ordering the night before as the staff were so grumpy. We heard lots of people saying that they will be back..
We had a wonderful experience. We had 6 adults and 3 children and they truly were so kind. I got the oysters Rockefeller and many other things. Absolutely delicious, perfectly Timed meal and amazing view
My inlaws took my wife & I here for dinner here tonight. Beautiful restaurant. Great menu options. Delicious food. Excellent service from our waitress Jessica. My wife kept raving about the short ribs & flourless chocolate cake. She shared with all of us and both are 5 STAR items we highly recommend trying. *Appreciate the fact restaurant music wasn't blasting Truly enjoyed our dining experience & will most definitely come back.
I have lived In Jamesport for most of my life and have watched the area and restaurants change throughout the years, Docks is possibly one of my favorite changes! I’ve had intimate dinners with my love and entertained out of town guests and also have had large gatherings here and oddly enough I’ve not once been disappointed!! I mean everyone has a bad night, but not here! The staff is very attentive and friendly, the drinks are delicious and the food is just delicious! Thank you for making me a proud North Forker. 🙏🏻
This establishment is conveniently situated on the waterfront. My selection of this restaurant was predicated on the accessibility for patrons arriving via personal watercraft. The availability of docking facilities for boat travelers was a key consideration. "On The Dock" offers two dedicated boat slips, B2 and B4, also bulkheaded. In addition to the appealing water views, the restaurant provides a positive dining experience with satisfactory cuisine and a helpful, friendly staff, as evidenced by my inquiry regarding docking arrangements.
Went out East to spend the day and picked this restaurant on the water. What a pleasant surprise! The outside deck had a nice view of the harbor. The food was amazing...perfectly cooked and delicious. The wait staff was impeccable and knew what true food service was, with our waitress, Paula, paying attention to every detail. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be going back for a long time to come. Congratulations to the owner and staff of this hidden gem!
Went with my Aunt & family the other night. Haven't been there in years. Great place on the water, food was delicious. Highly recommend the pork roast and potatoes. Had the tiramisu for dessert and was a good size piece. Good atmosphere. Good amount of parking. Would go back again.
On the docks is not only classy because of its atmosphere and astonishing service, the food is incredibly delicious. Our server, Nicole, was extremely attentive and provided us with excellent service. She had a bright smile on her face and answered all of our questions with expertise. Furthermore, she provided us with splendid service. The food was incredible. Definitely the best oysters we’ve ever had, and the Octopus was delicious. The salad, topped with beats and asparagus was refreshing and topped with the dressing was absolute perfection. The atmosphere was delightful and classy and the view was a bonus on top. Cannot wait to visit again, we had an amazing experience.
I had an excellent experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so beautiful and there are always stunning views but the band that was playing inside was magnetizing. Bartenders, Andrea and Julia were attentive, friendly, funny, and on point. They made us feel so comfortable. You don’t get service like that anymore. Amazing service! Good times!
EDIT: Everything below remains valid but we later learned it was the OWNER who went out of his way to help us/be nice to the busser. It's an excellent location and the food is high quality. For a waterfront restaurant, the prices are very reasonable. The service sets it apart. We drove by on a nice day, so we spontaneously decided to grab a drink. We had gotten a couple of pies earlier that day, so, like absolute psychopaths, we asked if they could put the pies in the walk-in while we chilled on the porch bar. They were fine with it. Then, in a very understandable mistake, the hostess dropped one of the pies. Not a big deal. She felt horrible, though, and the manager immediately offered to drive to where we got the pie (15 minutes away), replace the fatally-wounded peach cream, and he got us a drink while we waited. That's how a restaurant should be operated. I recommend you give it a try.
We tried the chicken quesadilla, Caesar salad, and shrimp tacos. I never in my life had tacos with seafood but I loved them. There is seating inside and outdoors. Very comfy outdoors with a tent to block the sun but still get a light breeze and feel the heat from the sun. Love place overall. My wife and I will be back for sure Watching the boats on the dock while enjoying lunch here today was an unforgettable experience. Felt like we were in Europe. Love the nautical views
My wife and I stopped here on two separate days on our April break trip to the North Fork of LI. We had vert different experiences and both were great. Our first visit was to the bar after our dinner in Riverhead. We were lucky to be there on a night where one of the best bar tenders I’ve ever seen was doing everything to make sure everyone was attended to and received excellent drinks. While our orders were simple, gin & tonic and margaritas, they were perfectly made. The next day we went back for dinner after visiting some wineries. We ordered from the specials menu and chose Grouper(hard to find in the northeast) and Flounder, along with a lobster bisque. All the food exceeded expectations and was excellent. The best part was sitting on the deck with the views of the water and boats. We will be back the next time we are I the area!
It was literally the best meal my husband and I have had in a long time, and we go out pretty regularly. We are thinking about coming back to have the lobster bisque one more time before leaving tomorrow. The staff were super friendly and the service was fast. Plus, the view as the sun set. Amazing in every way!
This spot was fun. Super pet friendly. They offered us seating inside with our two cocker spaniels but we chose to sit on patio outside. Highly recommend the massive lobster roll. It was filled with TONS of lobster meat. Large menu. Great drink specials. Cozy atmosphere. Great service too!!! You will not be disappointed.
I would consider On The Docks to be at a hidden gem in Aquebogue. The restaurant resides on a beautiful canal right on the water and has plenty of dock space for your boat. Whether you’re sitting outside on back deck, or sitting inside the restaurant you are guaranteed a beautiful view. We were being taken care of by Sue who was very helpful and attentive throughout our whole meal. We started out with a dozen little neck clams on the half shell, which were so fresh and chilled to perfection. Out of all our meals I would definitely recommend the Chicken Milanese, the Broiled Seafood Platter, and the Pork Tenderloin wrapped in Bacon. All the food was very fresh and delicious though. We finished up with a lemon Square, and some chocolate cake which was also very good. Overall, if you’re looking for a beautiful spot to have a few drinks and a great meal I would definitely recommend On The Docks!
When I'm in the area I always enjoy this restaurant/bar. The location is great and last summer I enjoyed both the restaurant and the outdoor bar that on my yesterday's visit exubed frozen winter vibes! So, this time I and a friend enjoyed the indoor bar which was fun too .. with friendly and joyful camaraderie amongst staff & visitors. We had drinks & ... appetizers that were tasty ... and ... the service was great & prompt. 👍🙂👍
Nice spot right on the water with a varied menu. We loved the raw oysters and the meat and cheese platter. The duck wings were a bit on the tough side but the sauce is a winner. The blackberry margarita sounded great on paper, but in the mouth it wasn't the best combo. They had a band playing in the bar on a Saturday night. Will be a great place to return to when the weather gets warmer and we can eat outside.
Very fresh seafood well prepared. Love the outdoor bar and dining deck overlooking the water
The location is top notch! A pity it was a bit too cold for outside seating, but that did not stop us from enjoying the wonderful view. The food was quite tasty. My only issue is that we must have come on their busiest time, or they were understaffed because the food took a little while to come out - not that I mind, but when you have a large party, someone tends to be impatient which changes the mood in everyone. Other than the extra wait time, everything was excellent. I will definitely come back here in the summer, so I can sit in the outside dining area.
Had dinner with another couple. The meat and cheese platter was excellent. I wasn't crazy about the rigatoni orolana that I had. Didn't care fir the sauce. The others in my party liked their meal. I noticed one customer had French onion soup that wasn't on the menu because I would have ordered that if it was. The wait staff is excellent. Atmosphere very nice. Would go again and try something other than pasta.
On the Docks is a seafood restaurant by the long island sound with view of the water. The food is exceptionally good as is the atmosphere and service. The prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive enough that you are sure to find something the agrees with your pallet.
The food was really good very nice size portions. My Wife had the Short Ribs which were excellent they were very tender. I had the Chicken Milanese which also a nice size and very good. I also had a cappuccino which was very small and exspensive for what you got. The only issue we had was we had to change seats as a vent over our table was blowing cold air on us. We were moved to another table but that was also cold as it was in front of a window. Overall service and food were very good we will be back for sure.
Great spot next to marina. First time here and the onion soup is a #8 out of #10. So far wings are really good. I had the French dip & it was cooked perfectly and was more than enough to eat.. wife had the turkey club & she said it was perfect. We will come back and the prices were more then reasonable..
Good front desk service . The young lady was very helpful and accommodating Say at the bar waiting for our table It was fairly easy to get a seat We were greeted by the bartender promptly and we ordered two drinks The drinks were on the weaker side but not bad tasting. However we were dumbfounded when we saw one of the bartenders wipe wine glasses before pouring with her finger . Completely disgusted by they that I asked for a straw to drink my Moscow mule. Asked for another drink however it took so long that we were seated and ordered from our very nice and happy Kristina She was amazing. Very friendly and very knowledgable of the menu. She made great recommendations and we enjoyed our food The food was delicious we enjoyed it very much That atmosphere was also great sitting above the marina with the boats in the background was pleasant . I gave the restaurant only 4 stars due t to the lack on f cleanliness in n the one bartenders part . Will absolutely go back again Btw The male manager Was very pleasant accommodating and friendly Watched his interactions with the employees helping to clear and set tables and with customers after and before being seated. Thank you for the pleasant experience and the tasty food.
This place is beautiful and I highly recommend sitting outside if possible. Last night I sat inside and it was super loud. Lots of people celebrating birthdays etc. Waitress was too busy and service was less than expected for the cost of the meal. Luckily the tuna, lobster roll, Tira misu and Skyscraper chocolate cake were superb!
During my lunch visit, we ordered the Lobster Bake, in addition to an alcoholic iced sweet tea and a Corona. Perfect for enjoying on a warm afternoon by the water. On The Docks is recognized for its pet-friendly policy, allowing leashed dogs to join their owners at outdoor tables. The restaurant offered a spacious outdoor deck adorned with string lights, providing a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
I've been here a few times. The service is always great. Food is decent but wouldn't say amazing(food is good but generic)and as expected for location,a lot of sea food. Reason for not getting 5 stars is, Parking can be difficult specially at busy times and the gravel parking lot can make a mess of your shoes and car. 90% of the patrons are 45+. The outside bar is kind of small probably 10-12 people and then about 7 tables outside and only party of two can sight right by the water. Overall,I like this place,if in the area and with time I always stop by.
We went there last night to celebrate a birthday. While the atmosphere and the location was outstanding, the attitude of our server left a bitter taste and a bad experience for what is supposed to be a memorable evening. Our server was impatient, condescending and the whole time, not a friendly word or smile and behaved as if she was doing us a favor for eating there and she seemed like she couldn’t wait for us to get out. Even couple of small requests we made had her give us this look that made us feel bad for even asking that. When later two other people in my group asked me if I sensed the unfriendliness of the waitress, I knew I was not imagining things. But the rest of the staff and the hostess were amazing, very helpful and friendly! This server does not seem to be people friendly or my people friendly, whatever the reason, she should not be in this line of work. We did not even bother asking her to take a photo of our group worried how she might react.
i spent almost $300.00 for dinner and ordered muscles as an appetizer and wanted a little extra bread and was charged an extra $2.50. the seafood combination was pretty poor but the lobster roll was good. When i mentioned the extra $2.50 for the bread i was told they spoke to the manager about it the past he told them no you charge it. i think this is pretty petty and lost me as a customer and maybe some others too.
Parking in lot - but hard to find especially on a Friday night. Reservations are strongly recommended . Lots of music & merriment. Bar got crowded fast. We had reservations for 6 adults with 2 babies - so we opted for outdoor seating. Our server was nice & friendly, food was good. We ordered burgers, French onion dip, 16oz rib-eye, fish & chips, onion soup, lobster, classic, seafood linguini, Buffalo wings, etc. Drinks were ok as well. View from deck was nice at sunset. Bar & counter got very noisy later on. Prices medium to a little high.Parking in lot - but hard to find especially on a Friday night. Reservations are strongly recommended . food was not the best. I was expecting to be a little more high end quality. The duck wings had too much souce on them and was so hard to chew, that it seemed like it was old not fresh. the salmon was blend, the rice and vegetables blend and oily, no salt and pepper on the table, and they sat me in a table where i couldnt even see the waterfront and wasnt even that busy. Not the best experience and the only good thing for was the server.
Love the service. The view but the food taste was good. Not excellent. The tacos presentation needs attention .the salsa was missing the cilantro and lime was missing .I really went there for the pictures of food. Is important that he chef is more into presentation and original flavor. I will stop by again ..
The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are very helpful. However, the food is sub par and not quite what I expected from a place of this caliber. The mash potatoes tasted like then instant kind and the calamari tasted frozen. Maybe it’s cost cutting due to coronavirus but I wasn’t happy to pay for the food at the end of the evening. Also, don’t buy any cocktails or mixed drinks the bartender is better at serving beer straight from the keg.
My family and I had high hopes for this place, drawn in by it's great location on the docks. It has tons of parking and a really nice view from the back deck. The vibe inside is great, but that's when the best part of the experience ended. The service was good, the food was the real issue. You'd think a place called "on the docks" would have amazing fresh seafood. But it wasn't th case. The raw clams were good, but the oysters and mussels were definitely not fresh. The wings were maybe the biggest puzzle. We were there right when they opened, but the wings were so tough it seemed like they were just leftovers that got thrown back in the fryer. The only saving grace was the mock-grita, which was delicious. We really wanted to love the place, but the food just didn't deliver.
A terrific location on Meeting House Creek. Several rooms including outside dining area. It was windy so we took window seats with great view. We were a party of four. Service is friendly and helpful. Not overbearing but a little too quick to remove plates before everyone was finished. Appetizers of muscles and of fried calamari was skippier than in the past. I felt it didn’t justify the price. Mussels in a super delicious wine sauce. Tacos were good Two only with delicious fries linguine with clams was very good. Needed some bread to scoop up the great white sauce. No bread was served. Insufficient sea food forks served with appetizers. I’ve been here many times. Certainly a nice place in a beautiful setting. I just don’t like being rushed especially when the place is nearly empty in mid-day and I want to relax-European style. Slow food dining anyone? September 2025 I’ve been coming to this pace for 20 years and have seen it change ownership over those years And of course the menu and atmosphere of the place. The only thing getting 5 stars is atmosphere. Excellent view from one of the dining areas. Unfortunately today I had a waitress who was not friendly but doing a job with little joy. The PEI mussels in a bland watery wine sauce. And they did shrinkification. It seems it is 50% of what was once served. Go to Watershed Inn in So. Jamesport for better mussels. The Docks burgers are very good. Tasty and cooked perfectly. My guest was pleased.
We were eating alive by mosquitoes eating inside tonight at this restaurant on the docks when we told the waitress what was going on she said that that’s the way it is we had a meal went home and noticed many mosquito bites all over our bodies called back tonight to give them my feedback. I was told that’s just the way it is like it or not. Well we won’t be going back there again and if you do bring cans of deet with you or a mosquito net because this restaurant doesn’t give a damn about infestation of mosquitoes flying around their patrons as they eat.
Came here with my parents on a Sunday night. Rude, snobby staff serving subpar food. The nice view doesn't make up for the negative experience. If you want a tasty meal and top notch customer service, head to The Mill on Main and sit on their upper patio. Top notch.
I’m a local to the area and love to frequent on the docks. However, last time I went was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. My friend and I asked if they had any mocktails and the server said there were none. We jokingly said we spoke to the bartender and he said he could whip something up could you check with him. The server was very rude in her response and said I know you didn’t speak to anyone because there are no male bartenders on service at the moment. We were very taken aback at her rude tone and refusal to ask the bartender about making some sort of mocktail. Our other friends were drinking beer and every time they ordered a new one, the server never cleared the old glasses and we were left with so many extra glasses on the table we eventually had to ask her to take away the empty glasses. We had a baby with us who wanted to play with the decorative candle. My friend took the candle from the baby and set it back on the table, moments later the host came over to our table and very rudely snatched the candle off the table without a word to us or an apology, she didn’t even look at us as she took it off the table. When the food came out, we got burgers and they hardly gave us any French fries with it, probably the smallest portion of fries I have ever seen at a restaurant with a burger. Another uncomfortable experience was when my friend was walking her baby around the restaurant and another server rudely told her to “get out of the way”. Normally I love coming to On the Docks however the servers were so incredibly rude and made us feel so uncomfortable that we couldn’t get out of there quick enough. It was a very upsetting experience as we were there for celebratory reasons and it ended up being a very uncomfortable dinner.
The runner system brings food too fast . Eating app and get entree way too soon. So we order dinner after apps come every time we go. Waited 10 min for lettuce tomato for hamburger. Cold 🍔 as a result. Asked 3 people and another server when asked brought it. Asked for bread. Never came. Had to ask for silverware when taken after app. Water only refreshed at check time.
We ordered the lobster bake and the entire meal had 0 flavor and no taste. Will not be going back as it was my 1st time coming there
The bar experience was amazing , bartender was friendly and personable. We asked to be moved to an outdoor table for dinner after bar ,we enjoyed more drinks and appetizer , we wanted a Reuben Sandwich after that then we were going to order more drinks and dinner. Waiter refused to bring us sandwich because it was not part of the dinner menu and we had to go back to the bar to order. No need to explain further frustration about this. Manager had same mentality and could care less to resolve. We closed out dis not tip waiter for his crappy attitude and never will return. Bad management and not people friendly. Owner needs to evaluate his employees and their customer skills to retain and regain business. Either it’s the owner or the employees.
First of all, we stopped here on Monday afternoon the weather was great. The view was great too bad. The food wasn’t. I ordered the village Greek salad. The component choice is good, but it was all served warm. Salad Should be served in a cold bowl and cold not at room temperature. I also ordered shrimp cocktail, the shrimp or limp in the cocktail sauce, which is supposed to have a horse radish base instead they substituted black pepper, not good. My wife ordered the creamed risotto with shrimp, way too creamy. In my opinion if they were not on the water, they probably would not be as popular as they are.
