The portion sizes are pretty great for their prices, despite me thinking they'd be small from photos lol. Our party of three had enough leftover for at least 3 more servings tbh, the tacos & tostadas are big. Though there was a slight wait (we ordered 2 tostadas, 1 serving of taquitos [2], 1 burrito, & 3 tacos), the customer service was swift and kind. The flavor of the food wasn't anything insane, but I liked it just fine and they let you have as many salsa as you want. They don't skimp on cheese and the other toppings. I'd definitely recommend coming here even outside of their special pricing on Mondays and Tuesdays!
I called in my order, & they told me 15 minutes. Order was ready and fresh when I picked it up. Service was excellent 👍!. Super friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend!!! Plenty of parking. Food is great. Atmosphere is comfortable.
Taco Treat has the best deep fried burritos! They taste exactly the same as I remember them 40+ years ago when I ate regularly at their old South Pasadena location. Always worth the long drive from South Orange County.
We ate all the time at Taco Treat when I was in high school, I graduated in 1964. I left California in 1968 but still have to have at least one burrito when I visit the area. I live in Iowa. I love this place!
Love coming here for the bean and cheese burritos. Have been coming for years. The crunchy tacos are also good.
Nice little corner spot ! Pretty good food with good portions and Great prices! I get their fried bean and beef burrito and its really good . maybe ill try other things , Also the people are cool and nice , the young man working the window is chill !!! CASH ONLY SPOT.
This taco restaurant offers authentic and flavorful tacos with a variety of fillings. The ingredients are fresh, and the portions are generous. The casual and vibrant atmosphere makes it a great place for a quick bite or casual dining. Pros: Delicious and authentic tacos with fresh ingredients Wide variety of fillings and toppings Friendly and attentive staff Casual and lively ambiance Cons: Seating can be limited during busy times Some menu items can be spicy for sensitive palates Limited dessert options
TACOS NOT ON MENU! Great non-Mexico tacos! But so good. Crispy! Their burritos are fried so a little different. These old-school taco places are nostalgic and need to stay around. Service is always fast and friendly with reasonable prices. They make their own hot sauce, so it's pretty good. Go if not just for nostalgia.
Taco treat. At least this specific location. It's a staple. It's like authentic home cooked Mexican food ( well, if mid-aged, all-american, suburban housewife dated a Mexican person for 3 months was cooking for a family of 5). Satire aside. It's good food at an okay price. Parking is a non-issue. Service is quick and most of the time nice. Small place that dishes comfort cravings and long-term fans. To sum it all: this is the birthday meal pick for multiple members in our extended family.
I live in Atlanta but have family out here and Taco Treat is a staple of visiting LA! I've been going since I was a kid and love it. I always get the bean and cheese burritos and man, I don't know how to even describe the flavor but it's always amazing. Maybe nostalgia, maybe the food, but I always enjoy it. We showed up close to closing time due to when our flight got in, but the server was very friendly and not annoyed with us coming so late. I hadn't tried their hot sauce before but I did this time and I loved the flavor of it. Wasn't able to finish my burritos but I ate one later and even cold it was still delicious.
An absolute treat for Mexican food. It’s a neighborhood hidden gem. I haven’t done a review on this restaurant and decided to do one today. Family owned and always busy with great prices for the tacos and burritos. During lunch and dinner, Tons of people lined up for the food. Fried burrito and taco are must order items. Make sure to ask for different sauces. There are other Mexican foods in the menu, but we haven’t tried them yet. They offer specials on Tuesday wu the great deals. This place accepts cash only. Plenty of parking spots in the back of the restaurant.
I heard about this place this morning on KTLA 5. I wanna thank the viewer that shared this amazing place with us all. It's sooo good and yet so simple. Something about it reminds me of growing up in the 80's and eating at a little hole-in-wall joint. I got their beef and bean burrito, green chill & bean burrito and the bean toastada (which is hella big) I highly recommend this place.
Didn't realize all the burritos were fried like chimichangas. Doesn't have the best seating area but I've been hearing about this place and seen it there for years so I had to try it. Cash only. Good prices
Nice little spot u got burgers, crunchy tacos, 🌮 chillie cheese 🍟,have to stop and get more food🤤🤤🤤
This place is a classic. The best bean cheese burritos in town. The fries and tacos are super crispy crunchy and tasty. I’ve been coming here for years. The prices are good the food and service rock. This place has looked and tasted the same for years. Consistently good. Ten out of ten recommend. The parking is a bit challenging but worth it.
American Mexican food that has been here since my childhood. The burritos are deep fried with meat and cheese in them only. I also got the meat quesadilla which is their ground beef. Portions for the quesadilla are giant and they don’t skimp on ingredients. Chili fries are good as well and can also be purchased individually (contains beef, beans, and pieces of tomato).
I double check the menu and I was trying to see if they claim to make Mexican food. Because it's not Mexican food they serve here, it's definitely El Paso brand-style American Mexican food. And for that, it's pretty great. The Ant wanted me to pick up some burritos and so I did , lured in by the Monday Tuesday special on hard shell taco and a tostada. When I got the burritos, I did not recognize them. Because they're deep fried. Yes deep fried. Once I got over my shock and had a bite I thought they were pretty good, although I never would have bought them if I knew and they were deep fried I enjoyed them. If there was ground beef in there they would have been one of the best flautas I ever had.The tostada was really good too , heaping with extra onions I asked for. There was too much cheese but didn't ask for light cheese so that's really on me. The hard shell Taco was unremarkable, Workmanlike. I was charmed by the style of the place is very mid 70s or even earlier, by the fact that they are a family run place. Next time I want to try their hamburger.
This place was a glorified classic Taco Bell. I was expecting better quality food. If I wanted to eat here again I would just go to a random Taco Bell cause Thats exactly what the tacos tasted like. Was sold on the beef tallow business but even the girl at the front didn’t and couldn’t confirm this.
I stopped regularly carrying cash during covid. Got used to it. Tap or Zelle only. Even Taco trucks tale Zelle.
So, so, sooo mid. Idk how this place has so many good reviews. This is like if a suburban American burger stand attempted to make tacos after going to Taco Bell one time. Service is rude and they rush you. Food is bland absolutely no flavor and too greasy. They’ve gotta be paying for these reviews cause I’ve been to authentic taco trucks that would put this to shame lol
Been here for years and staff is always nice and attentive. Never had an issue intill today November 14. The person they have working is so rude. From the moment you arrrived and order with an attitude. The way so speaks to you is terrible.... awful service... ordered and didnt wait for our food with the attutude she has towards paying customer's. What a disappointment of service
