You don't think its much its a cute rustic little off the road diner. The burger patty was thick the fries were good, excellent service! A little pricey but quality and size of thr food was great thank you Deep Creek Drive-In
Friendly place with great food! We wanted a smash burger so they accommodated us (it’s not on their menu). They’re not selfish with portions either! They really do have the “Worlds Best enchiladas” too!!
This place is literally a 2 minute walk from my cabin so it’s very convenient. There food is amazing I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries omg it was so good we also ordered a pastrami sandwich and a club sandwich they were all so delicious I definitely recommend this place it’s family owned and they’re so nice and friendly there food is the best for sure I will definitely be coming back.
Very hospitable and polite. Food is delicious and price is fair!
Came here for the first time and it was AWESOME! Their customer service was great even with all the COVID precautions they welcomed us and our to-go order. We ordered: kids cheeseburger with fries (adult sized burger & good fries), double cheeseburger with bacon wrapped in lettuce (BEST I’ve EVER had), and a carne asada salad (delicious). We were impressed with everything and can’t wait to go back to try more. Highly recommend!!
Had a half order of biscuits and gravy couldn't even finish it. My wife had an order a hash brown couldn't finish that either. The food was great service is excellent would recommend this to anybody traveling Highway 18 to Big Bear . They have a great menu selection from A to Z. Stop and try this place out don't think you'll be disappointed.
The food is AMAZING. The staff is friendly. This is an AMAZING carnitas wet burrito. I had a taco salad today. It was DELICIOUS. DEFINITELY a place to drop in to. Yesterday, Feb. 07, my friend came here for lunch and I ordered their Ortega Burger, DEEEEEEEEELISHHHHH.
Great little dive in Arrowbear (Running Springs). Easy access on Hwy 18. Plenty of parking and no issues getting back on to the hwy. Good variety of choices, tacos to burgers to chicken strips to breakfast. They are open to Dine in (as of now, but prone to change). You do have to wait outside to be seated. They are complying with covid mandates, 6 ft, face masks and whatever. I wish we were able to stay and have a beer. Maybe next time cuz we will be back!
Wonderful food, awesome service, and fantastic prices. Right down the street from Victorias were I received the worst experience of my life. I'm pretty sure Victorias has a deal with the local hotels to recommend them, and probably paid reviews. Don't buy it! Go to Deep Creek instead. I had the country fried steak and my wife had the Chilaquilles. Fed all 9 of our family members for a hundred bucks. Perfect for breakfast, enjoy!

This place has the best ground beef fried tacos I’ve EVER had in my life! I can’t believe how good the food and service is here. So happy we stopped and returned during our week in Green Valley Lake.
The food is amazing. The beans are superb, i had shrimp enchiladas and my lady had chicken both of us were extremely pleased. I highly recommend stopping by this place.
Great food. Friendly staff. Good bottled beer selection. Great place to stop on your way up or down the mountain.
The BEST veggie fajitas ever! The mushrooms and onions offered a deep and rich flavor. They served a large portion of veggies today. We are from out of town and will be back the next time we visit these mountains.
Teriyaki Mushroom burger with sauce on the side so the fries don’t get soggy is my favorite on the mountain. Must try more items. Thank you for making my tummy happy.
I really enjoy the tacos here. I would come here every week for the taco Tuesday. Sadly schedule changes for myself make that hard to come every Tuesday. But I still make it a point to come here when I can. Beside the tacos, the salsa and breakfast burritos would have to be also the reason I keep coming back.
Mexican American good quality. Small joint, be patient. Best food in a 20 mile radius. Worth the stop. LOVE THE CHILE VERDE! (OMELETTE OR BURRITO)
We love this place eat here very often ,great food ,great people
The vanilla cappuccino was amazing! Very sweet and smooth. Great place if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat. The grilled ham & cheese was good, especially because of the toasted bread.
This place was amazing, I enjoyed how it was empty when I was there with my family. We got our food almost in an instant and enjoyed how everything was so good too. Really hoping to go back some time soon again.
Small Dinner. Family owned but great food very hospitable and very attentive. They are on your drive up the mountain if your coming up from the 210 to the 330 on your left side. I order there special cheese burger and added mushroom it was delicious fries where fresh not frozen or out a bag. They offer chips and salsa while you wait. For the bathroom you have to ask for a key surprisingly bathroom was very clean and so was the diner. I will stop by here again.
Always delicious, always friendly, always as quick as possible. Thank you Marisela! Making my cold go away almost instantaneously with your delicious Albondiga Soup!! 🍲🫶🏻🙏🏻
Delicious burritos, enchiladas, and breakfast food. There is nothing generic about this diner, everything done with care and emphasizing quality. The portions are large. One can call ahead or order at the window. There are about 8 parking places right out front. Very friendly staff. Don't judge the book by the cover, this is a fabulous meal for the ride home from the mountains.
I love stopping by every moment I can to eat here great service great food and very most great company
Chelsea was an amazing waitress ans well as the other two ladies hospitality was good. The cooks made some amazing burgers. not to thick and defintely not thin was delicious and spot on. Thanks a Bunch. was well worth the price.....
Food is delicious, first off the chips made as if they came out of the oven when they put it on your table and the salsa is yum yum good with a kick. The burger is made with Angus meat, 2 juicy and beautiful patties. Fries are thin and crispy. The enchiladas plate is so good!!! They put so much cheese, your heart will stop for a few seconds. But don't worry, because one more spoon of this beautifulness and you will be fine. This place is worth it. Ever in running springs or heading to big Bear this should be one of your to go places before you get to your final destination.
The service was pleasant, the food was delicious, but we did wait quite a bit for the food while people who came after us got their food when we got ours. Not a huge deal though because like I said, Food was delicious and service was pleasant. Quick easy seating as well.
The quality of the food is outstanding. There is no "enchiladas en salsa verde" better than there. The salsa and chips are unique, with a flavor to tomatoes, Chile and cilantro. The attention is excellent. When I am at Runnjng Spring or close to the are, I eat there.
A nice little spot before you hit the bulk of Big Bear (or are getting out of it). Their menu is pretty selective, catered to Spanish dishes more. Ordered steak, which was alright. Reason for 5 stars was for the service. We went in the morning and the server gave one of our friends the last bowl of menudo (a dish he tried to get after he changed his mind). Even better was that they gave it to us for free!
Food its great. Authentic Mexican food, family own and staff is nice, they take pride in what they do. Nice place to have a bite. Love their chips and salsa. Nice cozy place to eat at peace.
Great food! Pretty good Mexican recipes for a small town restaurant. I've always been happy with whatever I order here. Nice, friendly service too!
Great little to-go place, definitely the most reasonably-priced in the area that I've seen so far. It is located in Arrowbear Lake, just between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear in the viscinity of Running Springs. The fries seem fresh like the kind they have at In-N-Out. So far we've tried the grilled chicken sandwich, club sandwich, chicken quesadilla, hamburger, as well as fries, onion rings, zucchini sticks, and chips/salsa and all were fine. It may not be obvious from the outside, but there is a dining room inside. There are also tables outside, both in front and in back of the building, so pets can be there too. If you eat-in chips and salsa will be brought to your table. Employees were friendly and the restroom was clean.
Best breakfast burrito I've had in a long time. Sauces were amazing as well and everyone was very nice.
Great customer service the guy that assisted us was bilingual and super friendly and nice super attentive with our refills and made sure we had all we needed for our food. The food was a good portion and food selection is great you have different varieties of foods to choose from .Overall 10/10 we definitely recommend this place .
Excellent food! It is home made and you can taste it! And on top of that the prices are very generous! The location does not look like much but what you don't get in apparence you save with your wallet, and the service is friendly! I'm very happy we stopped here on our way to big bear! :]
Oh man! Do I miss dining in and Taco Tuesdays here! Great little spot and nice people too! Let's get America back to eating out! Throw the microwave stuff in the trash! Lots to pick from on the menu too.
I'm happy there isn't any fast food on this mountain because that's probably where I would've gone for quickness. But there isn't so I stopped at this place after snowboarding all day and got a chile relleno burrito and its by far the best I've ever had. Keep it up 🔥🔥
Just drove up for the day. Stopped at one of the only places open to eat after 5pm. Not expecting much... literally had one of the best burgers I have had all year. Who knew this little place got down like this!
Home made enchilada sauce is what makes the enchiladas the best. At Deep Creek drive in. You won't be disappointed. They have a breakfast with a tamale so good. I won't a tamale sandwich. The green enchilada sauce is amazing and the red sauce has to be mama's secret recipe. Thank you to the chief and the staff.
The food is really good. I always get the Carne Asada Fries.(Well Done). Chips & salsa, the chips always come out warm. My only issue is the service, even though everyone is nice and I've never had any negative experience with anyone. They are just really,.really slow. They will come by to ask you if everything is ok ONCE and after that good luck.
Great little place to eat! Everything was so fresh and priced well. Super clean and friendly service. Will definitely stop by again in the future.
I am a 37-year mountain resident, and I have been eating there since I moved to the mountain. So yes, I am well known and easy to serve. That is why I can put 5 stars 🌟 across the board ✨️. Welcome and take a clean table, and a server will be with you shortly 😀.
Love love love Deep Creek Drive-In! amazing food and good/fair prices!!! Definitely a good spot for locals! And tourist! The service is really good too! They’re always so nice and thoughtful to what you may need with your food!
1st time here. Will be back for the food. Kinda dated inside. Menus are old and very used. The decor inside doesn't really make and sen. Even my 13 yr old was wondering about they mix of decor. But the food was awesome.
Definitely worth the visit! Our family has been stopping here for food everytime we drive down from Big Bear Lake back home for years. Food is consistently delicious!
This place is awesome. The service is outstanding and the salsa might be the best I've ever had. They serve breakfast all day long, Mexican food, and Traditional American food, hamburgers, beacon and eggs. I'll drive up here just for this restaurant.
You must try this place on your way up to Big Bear or Snow Valley. Good stopping point going up the mountain. I love their chorizo breakfast burritos and their Fajita omelets are so flavorful! If you're doing an early morning to snow valley - stop in for breakfast to go on your way. Take it with you! There is great seating outdoor patio on the back if you want to stay longer. The staff is absolutely fantastic. Their service is top top! You will love this place , guaranteed!
"The Best Restaurant I've ever been to" -My 8 year old. Huge portions, great friendly staff, quick service, enchiladas and Carne Asade plate were delicious.
Easily the best burgers on the mountain! My personal favorite is the teriyaki mushroom burger. They can also do a mean milkshake.
Great place. We were stuck in traffic and hungry so we were very happy to find this place and kill an hour while eating tasty food. Burritos, burgers and fries were all excellent. Definitely coming back when we're in the area.
Loved this cozy little place! I felt like I traveled back in time because we were greeted with chips and salsa, no charge, like most restaurants used to do! The food was super delicious, reasonably priced, and our server, Coryn, was fantastic! Next ski season, we will be back to eat here!
5 stars from me all around went in there not knowing how the food was and I took a risk with the shrimp burrito let me tell you this place has one of the best shrimp burritos I have had I would go again and would recommend to anyone also very nice place and clean. Also friendly
A friend and I were up here for work. Stopped in for a bite to eat before heading back down mountain. Amazing food, great prices
Stopped in for a hamburger food was good and they were happy to serve us nice places
Great shrimp burrito (and huge!). Coconut shrimp meal was also delicious and plentiful.

Food was very good, the burger very fresh and the veggies on the side is pretty cool because you can choose to add them as you wish and if you don't like it you can leave it out. The onion rings are very tender and crispy and are some of the best I've tasted. Food can get very pricey here, I spent around 15-16 dollars for my meal (the first time) and the wait times are surely hit or miss, because the first time it was quick but the second time it took 20ish minutes to get our food. The second time however I got lunch for around 10 bucks which is what I'd expect lunch to cost around.
Ordered shrimp scampi and it came with no pasta just shrimps.. so I wouldn't order that. But the actual Mexican food was good. Reccomend Chile relleno
If you ever go to Arrowbear, CA and wanna taste one real good mountain hamburger, then stop by this place and see for yourself. This is one of the best tasty, meaty and juicy hamburgera I've ever had, not to mention its fresh flavor and not something frozen. Be advised though, at times it's better to order over the phone since it takes a bit to get your order when you order in person but beyond that, food is pretty good.
I like the burger very meaty nice patty chips are good salsa cool ..... service nonexistent they don't check on you .... atmosphere it's cold decent spot to pass by spent 15.09 for cheeseburger and drink
Good to above average burgers and Mexican food. Was pleasantly surprised. I thought the crispy chicken and beef tacos were great and the rice and frijoles were legit. Kids devoured the cheese quesadilla and kids burger and fries. Will definitely come back.

I decided to try the 🍔 burgers since good reviews. I will say that it was definitely a great burger. The fries reminded me of In and Out 🍟 fries which I'm not too much of a fan. Just not my preference is all🙂
This little diner has great tasting burgers and the service was friendly and awesome! My husband lost his wedding ring in the parking lot and after someone found it gave and it to the staff there, one waitress Chris/Chrissy took her own $ and time after work to mail it back to us!
1st time we ate here we went in to eat. Everything was good! 2nd order, called in to go, taquitos are the size of my fingers and the guacamole was a dark greenish/brown. DO NOT order TAQUITOS! That's all.
Friendly service but they had trouble keeping up with customers. There were only two or three people working. They take phone orders as well as serve customers indoors and outdoors. The customers were mostly patient realizing they were short on staff. The food came out hot and it was delicious. They tried their best but know to expect a wait when they are busy.
Great mountain hideaway, with a huge and varied menu. Great food, whatever your mood. The Salsa is incredible! The service is great!!!!
Grilled chicken sandwich comes with bacon and swiss cheese. So juicy and delicious. With Onion rings. BEST SANDWICH I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!! comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and pickles on the side. A MUST TRY.
We moved to the area about a year ago and have been going to Deep Creek quite often and every single time a member of my family has ordered Fried Chicken (with mashed potatoes) or the Turkey sandwich (with mashed potatoes) they do not have it. Last night we ate in their dining area which is nice, clean with plenty of seating. It was only the second time we have eaten there, we usually do take out. This time a member of our party ordered the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and, I gotta say, it was kind of exciting to think we finally would be able to have this elusive dinner. Ten minutes later we were informed that it was not available. In fact, no mashed potatoes were available at all. To be fair, I think the waitress / server was new so maybe she was not informed that they did not have fried chicken. I want to offer some advice to the nice people / owners of Deep Creek. Please, just take the fried chicken dinner off the menu and maybe consider not offering mashed potatoes. Being in the hospitality business and succeeding means that you try your best to not disappoint people who plop down their money for your service. You guys make pretty awesome Mexican food, the burgers are pretty good. Maybe scale back your menu a tiny bit and do what you do best (only). There are not many food choices on the mountain and the locals and tourists like / love you guys. Sorry for being so long winded and thanks for always being friendly and polite!!
Ordered 5 times, and 4 were awesome! The taquitos? Crispy perfection! The staff? Super helpful and nice. Just a heads up, skip the carne asada burrito—the meat was way overdone, and literally crunchy. I’m sure it was just an off day. Still, I'll be back for sure!
It was late at night I was tired from two days of dragbike racing and I didn't want to cook when I got home, so I stopped in for more than a snack but less than a meal. Stupid me. I forgot how big the burritos are here, I didn't forget how great they taste. The crew were trying to close up but they had no problem with my late night craving. Don't miss out on this place. I couldn't finish my "snack" but damn it was still the next morning. My results if you care...I won 12 rounds and lost 2 rounds drag racing.
I was too hungry to take photos, I just dug right in.... I had the cheeseburger, my daughter had the pastrami burger. We both had fries, and lemme start there. They make their own fries and they're darn tasty!! The burgers... it's a fresh made patty and thick. Oh man I'm hungry again.
Rented a cabin for the weekend. Me and my friends went here yesterday and I gotta say, they have the best pozole I've ever had! Our order was to go. The only down side was the soup didn't have enough meat or hominy. Would have rated a 5.
The place is weird, it has a walk up order window, and a tiny dining room, the looks like an old simple diner. The pictures are deceiving. The menu pricing is similar to a high end restaurant. With most meal costing $25-50. All of that being said, the food was freaking incredible. Better than most high end restaurants. It’s one of those hole in the wall places you will never forget. Everything we ate, was some of the best we’ve ever had. I was, and still am, blown away. I will drive out of the way to eat here, anytime I’m near the area and have the extra to spend $40 on lunch.

Pleasant waitstaff, wait time was horrendous though I was only one of three present parties. Machaca burrito was tasty, coffee decent. Portions were acceptable for price. Overall nothing special here, but if you can't wait for something else, it'll do.
Everything was just okay, except for the salsa with the chips, which was very good. I had an enchilada combination. I would take Hortencia's, Rosalva's or even Papagayo's over these. My wife had a tuna melt with onion rings which also was average. The service was average too- - not super-attentive or super-slow. If I lived in Arrowbear I would probably go here now and then, but since I'm around 10 miles away I wouldn't go out of my way.
Shrimp scampi has no pasta just a heads up, the enchiladas, Chile rellenos, the rest was pretty good.
Service is good but some of their Mexican food dishes need improvement. The cheese enchiladas were good but the chili relleno was soggy instead of having a crisp batter coating. I remember having excellent Beef Machada there over the years. I'll have to try it again soon.
The place was busy. I ordered a breakfast burrito to go and it was made in a reasonable amount of time. It was tasty, but as I ate it, I had to keep pulling out bigger than bite size slabs of bacon fat. It grossed me out. We decided to try dinner since we live close by. I had the toughest, most overcooked coconut shrimp in the world. The salad had globs of old green slimy lettuce. I paid almost 15$ and I couldnt even eat it. Horrible! Very unhappy.
Enchiladas were good..tacos not so. When do you our cabbage in your tacos? Had to take the cabbage out. Salsa ...not fresh. Taste like ketchup...what happen? Is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant...
Food was OK, but the fries seemed left over from the night before and reheated :-/
Have come in twice for a to- go meal (se orders: 1 burrito, 2 soft tacos; not combos and no drinks). The wait was unreal both times: minimum 30 min each time! The restaurant was not crowded. Staff is nice but…probably not going to stop again.
Went there for my birthday and ordered a bacon burger and they put bacon inside the hamburger and I thought it was going to be really good but the bacon inside the burger was raw and was definitely not cooked all the way through. The people were really nice but I noticed that the host/hostess never washed their hands during the hour I was there. The only thing that was good was the deep fried ice cream. Everything else was very bleh and gross. Even their French fries tasted as if the last time they changed the oil was 2 weeks ago. Seriously nasty stuff.
Tonight is the last time I'll be ordering anything from deep creek drive in. Super disappointed- fyi... check your to-go orders before you leave (they like to forget items you paid for). When I went back- the cashier said... it was only one taco. Why don't you wait for a few minutes and we'll get that for you. No- I placed my order 30 mins ago, paid for it, took it home and now I'm back... but you never made the taco- so it's not like you forget to put it in the bag. You thought I wouldn't come back. We'll your right- I won't be back
Order total was $67, and what did we get? frozen French fries with our burgers and warm turkey club sandwich ( turkey probably wasn’t refrigerated) cashier was nice that’s about it seriously need to get better cooks
The service is horrible. The worst place ever! Please don’t come here.! Just to order small fires. You have to wait 30 minutes. Just for some small fries. Not even worth it! And they aren’t personal at all!
I asked for beans and rice with my Taquitos. My plate came with no beans or rice and some kind of green fake guacamole. I seriously don’t think they even used any avocados. I’ve had guacamole in many restaurants and made it myself and none of it looked like whatever it was that they served. They ran out of shredded beef so I settled for chicken. I had to get up and tell them never mind on the beans and rice as I was half way through my meal and it still hadn’t come. My husband ordered a pastrami sandwich, he wanted it on a roll, but they ran out of those too. At least overall he was happy with his sandwich.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Come here New Year’s Day after looking for something good to eat after a long day playing in the snow. I ordered the carne asada plate hoping for a good meal my wife had a pozole and my daughter order pancakes for breakfast. My carne asada looked and tasted horrible like a piece of dried flat meat with no flavor at all. Tortillas never came I left half of the meal there horrible . I understand they are busy but food needs to be upgraded maybe just what I had but no go for me. No more eating here ever again. Thanks but no thanks
We are locals. The food is always good, with a variety of different items. The tables, table mats, menus and floors are ALWAYS disgustingly DIRTY! Old, dirty decor. Restroom dirty. Condiments not on table or always picked over or not there. Service is BEYOND, BEYOND SLOW. Great location. If you would CLEAN your facility, you might have more local business. Always short staffed
Apparently the entrance is right inside of their server station. Already a turn off but continued to give it a chance given the (surprising) good reviews on the spot. Waitress was by herself and had a less than welcoming attitude. Not a single smile at any point of her service. Decided to order a simple mexican dish. Their refried beans were the most distasteful thing I have ever seen. The beans are still in one piece and it’s all swimming in lard. (Warmed in a microwave?! Not even a broiler in this place?) I am by no means experienced in going out and eating good, but this place is far from a 4.3 star rating. To all, I ask you to reconsider your choices and work on your palate.
The worst service ever. We had to ask for plates and silverware , also had to go grab our own menus. I never right reviews but this experience was horrible. To top it if our food wasn’t good at all. I politely asked for my food to be taken of the bill since I didn’t eat it. Our server was very rude about it. She dropped the bill with No explanation on how to pay it. We finally went to the front window to pay. The cook must have been upset that I returned my plate because she gave us a very mean glare on our way out.
There is no locals discount. The owners have continually failed to update menu pricing online. You cannot get a take out sandwich without being charged $21.00! I asked for no French fries, but my taje away sandwich is riddled with French fries and the oil from them. I am very disappointed.
