what a cute and homey place! i got the chicken over rice and wow the sauce was so gooodddd and the portion was so large! this is for sure a place i will visit again!
If you’re looking for affordable places to eat and want to delicious food, this is your place to go in New York City Astoria. We started off with two drinks. Thai iced tea and lychee iced tea, and the drinks were really good. Then for main course we got. KHAO MOK GAI and spicy chicken rice. It came with complementary salad and soup. When I tell you the flavors and the texture of the chicken was out of this world, it was so good. For dessert we took mango sticky rice and that did not disappoint at all. It was the perfect way to end the dinner. I definitely definitely recommend this place go check it out. I did a whole review on it on TikTok (TaniShush) and Instagram (bengali_grande). Go check it out if you want more in-depth review.
Always delicious. Classic Thai chicken spot with some great flavors and tasty variations. I usually get the food to go and the portions are great in person or as take out. Love the Ginger chicken over rice. They have roast or crispy chicken options for all their plates.
A taste of authentic Bangkok in the heart of Astoria. Had the fried chicken curry plate where the aromatic rice was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating it. We also had the spicy Tom yum chicken soup.. it was like a hug for the soul. Along with the Som Tum pla ra (papaya salat with anchovies 🥰) Just what we needed after walking around Astoria. The customer service was impeccable. It’s always an exceptional dining experience when the people who work there genuinely love what they are serving. You can genuinely taste the love in each bite! We will definitely be boarding from here a lot more and trying everything else on the menu. This is a local business you want to support. Trust me!
Took me awhile to find this place because it's not exactly on Broadway but on the corner so it's fairly easy to miss if you're not aware of the location. Other than that, this place is sublime. A tad on the small side but I dig the theme of the restaurant for it gives off an authentic Thai feel. The server was very courteous and kind which made ordering a pleasant experience. All of the dishes are very reminiscent of whenever I go to Hainan Jones for lunch because the menu is very similar to that. I ordered the Roasted chicken with rice, dumplings and Iced Tea. Their Iced Tea is an unusual but interesting beverage. It's your standard Iced Tea but mixed with milk, at first I was thrown off a bit like "Who mixes Iced Tea with milk?" But when I took a sip, it was surprisingly good, it was enjoyable. The main dish and the side were oh so tasty and filling, it definitely hit the spot. Some stuff on the menu were more pricier than others but worth it nonetheless. I totally recommend this hole in the wall spot with excellent cuisine.
I recently had a delightful lunch at Chick It Out Thai Restaurant and I couldn't be more satisfied! I indulged in “The Original” Khaomangai lunch, paired with Steamed Dumplings, and topped it off with a refreshing Thai Iced Tea. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to authentic Thai flavors. The Khaomangai was a perfect balance of tender chicken and savory rice, complemented by a zesty sauce that left me craving more. The Steamed Dumplings were a delight, with a delicate wrapper and flavorful filling that melted in my mouth. And the Thai Iced Tea was the perfect sweet and creamy finish to my meal. Chick It Out Thai Restaurant is featured in LaListe, and once again, LaListe proves to be spot on with its recommendations. Whether you're a fan of Thai cuisine or new to it, this spot is a must-visit. The food is outstanding, the service is warm and welcoming, and the overall experience is one to remember.
Absolutely loved the Thai-style Hainanese chicken here! The dish was flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. The ambiance of the restaurant was just as impressive – warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated. It made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend for both the food and the atmosphere! Let’s Chick It Out! 🐥
Wow what amazing sauce, chicken and rice dishes! You walk in and the place is tiny with a modern look and pretty elephant mural on the yellow walls. They have fun unique ice tea options. My buddy and I came here for lunch we started off with the miso soup and some salad. The miso was yummy, broth had great flavor and the salad was a nice little healthy quick bite. We got the combo chicken meals the fried chicken and wanted to try the poached chicken because it’s something new. The poached chicken was kind like a boiled chicken it was on but I liked the fried way more. The sauces are what put this meal together the ginger garlic sauce and sweet sauce were some of the best sauces over ever had. The service was amazing and portions a generous size. I want to try the mango sticky rice next time!
🌟 Craving Thai-style Hainanese chicken? Look no further than Chick It Out 🌟 We indulged in the chicken combo, complete with a comforting soup and fresh salad. The chicken? Incredibly juicy and tender. 🍗✨ And let’s not forget about their noodles – absolutely one of my favorites! 🍜 If you find yourself in this neighborhood, make sure to swing by. Great price for what you get. I don't live around this area, and was just here to get the original chicken combo; but the fried chicken (see picture) looked really good, and I think it might be worth another trip back to try! The combo came with salad and soup as well that are not pictured - all very good.
I’ve ordered twice from Chick It Out and I’ve been pleased with my orders on both occasions. Order: The Roasted Khao Man Gai Yang: Comes with a side of salad and soup. The rice is a bit undercooked, but the meat is juicy. The portion size is nice, especially for the price. Chick It Out Dumplings: The texture of the dumpling filling reminds me of a meat loaf. If that’s not a texture you like, you might want to try something else. Thai Iced Tea: The tea is a little too sweet for my liking, but if you have a sweet tooth then it’s a good choice of beverage.
So I 'Chicked it out'. Honest opinion. Not impressed. Passed by this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. Was craving a chicken dinner. Went in around 830pm, they close at 930pm. Did not think that would be an issue. I ordered the fried chicken cutlet over rice it looked good from another reviewers post. After ordering the lady in the kitchen said something in another language to the lady taking our order. Then we hear from the lady taking our ordee that it will be about 15 / 20 minutes as if they are bothered by that order. I see they sre actively cleaning the kitchen. There was a guy scrubbing pots. I was so hungry I went with the non fried chicken instead. What could go wrong, and I felt like it was the healthier option anyway. Took the food to go. Verdict. It tasted bland. Not flavorful at all. I had to force myself to eat it. Didn't taste anything like I would have expected. I didnt enjoy it. For 32 bucks, not worth it. I also ordered a thai mango ice tea for 4 dollars. The cup was full of ice... very little tea. Seriously, check the picture i attached. I didnt feel welcomed, they rushed us out. They are supposed to close at 930. If they dont want customers at 830, then they should say they close at 830pm. I hate that. Wasted my money. I do not recommend ever! Doesnt taste like thai food, chicken is bland.
