One of our favorite food spots in Queens for the past decade. Their back patio was our escape during covid and continues to be reliably cozy for us (way better than sidewalk dining IMO). I wish they would bring back the avocado toast with hot honey but otherwise love how the menu has pretty much stayed the same this whole time. Bonus: they now have dirty chips to-go! Best of all, the service is always super friendly!
I walk past Il Bambino all the time and decided to give it a shot one evening based on all the great reviews I read. The place really does deliver. I had the prosciutto and mozzarella panini with arugula and sun-dried tomato pesto. It was so fresh and tasty. Great crust and a great combination of flavors! I also tried the apricot tartlet and chocolate brownie and loved both. The environment is also nice and cozy. The best part of my dining experience was the warm and kind Constance who made me feel at home despite being a first-timer. She made excellent recommendations and really went above and beyond to make it a great experience. Thank you Constance.
I was in the neighborhood and this location popped up. OMG!! This was one of the best sandwiches I have had. I had the love handles sandwich because I wanted something different and man was that a perfect choice. Toasted to perfection. Me and my friend enjoyed it so much. Definitely coming back!
This place has the best tomato soup in the neighborhood. I wish they offered even more soups, because if they can make something better than their tomato soup, I’d be amazed. Their paninis and crostinis are also pretty good. Some lean a little greasy, but the flavors are solid and often creative. Overall, it’s a great spot to have nearby if you’re into sandwich-style foods.
When we walked in it wasn’t crowded and I wasn’t psyched. Then Constance/Connie/Con came to our table and everything changed. She’s a delightful person, great communicator and helped us with the menu options. Got the mimosa salad, a chicken (mozzarella) panini and a crostini with artichokes and goat cheese - omg amazing
Omg always amazing - today we got take out but I’ve tried many things on the menu. They’ve recently redecorated and changed it up a bit - looks good! The menu changes so today I’m trying something new out and I’m so excited! Great ingredients make great food and this place has it down. Be sure to get one of the best brownies ever and some dirty chips - two must haves!
This cute panini shop offers a variety of pressed sandwiches and other homemade dishes just right sized and delicious. The sandwich options are unique with an assortment of flavors from across the global palette which is refreshing. We ordered on panini from the brunch menu and one from lunch. Frankly it was hard to choose but our server was cheerful and helpful in making our selections. The classic fries are spot on. Homemade chips are good but are not subtle to prepare for flavor. There is both indoor and outdoor seating in their covered patio which is where we sat. Lastly, I found the beverage selection really awesome, someone there knows there brew. All in all, a great spot and wonderful to have in the area.
Very nice place to have a conversation and meal with friends. Cute little pumpkins on tables. The environment is quiet. They have salad, panini and so on. The gentleman, I think he is the owner, is super nice and provided us a good service. I like the question he asked us “do you have any questions about the menu?” It is courtesy and friendly to a person who is not familiar with panini, like me. We also got a suggestion how big the portion is and don’t order too much. The salad is fresh. Crispy panini. Try it if you are still hesitating.
Yummy sandwiches and crostinis. We enjoyed the food and the service. You order your food up at the front and sit down like at any other restaurant and have the food served. Everything tasted fresh and the crispiness of the bread was great. The hostess was very sweet and accommodating which made the visit even more pleasant.
AWESOME!!! I went tonight to Il Bambino for the first time and wow! It was so so good. Daniele was incredibly helpful and super friendly. I ordered 3 different paninis and each one was full of flavor and unique. Great quality that you can taste! Can’t wait to go again for more. Thank you guys!
I found this place while strolling around, and I’m so glad I did! The inside feels cozy and traditional — you can even see how they cook the food right on the spot. The staff is super friendly, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend trying the soup; it’s full of flavor and warmth. I also had the grilled chicken panini, and it was really tasty. Definitely worth a visit
Paninis are pretty big, we ordered fried to split and I ended up taking half of the panini home for dinner. Piggie Smalls - loved all the flavors, the sweet acidity of the cherry peppers really compliment the goat cheese and pork Fries - piping hot fresh and fluffy but nothing to write home about in terms of flavor, instead I'd order a basket of the dirty chips
The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: This is quite a warming place to go to. Spotless, bright, colorful, and well organized. Their restroom is also clean and tidy. They also have a patio, but I didn't see it completely. Service: Service is pretty good. Food was ready a few minutes late than the time promised, but the lady kept me updated. Food: I ordered to go. I got two paninis, The Tree Hugger and the Roast Chicken with Goat Cheese. They were not bad. The flavors were good, but they were missing something for me to feel they were worth paying what they cost. I know the ingredients are not cheap. However, if they were organic, it would be a different story. Price: As mentioned before, I felt like the flavors were not quite close to the price. That is just for the paninis I ordered. Perhaps, other things on their menu are woth paying for.
Great panini shop in Astoria! We’ve been here twice and they have always been great with service and food. We really like the taste of their food. You really can’t go wrong with any of the pressed paninis. I would recommend the El Porko Royals as well as the Piggie Smalls, both of which the server recommended as well. You only get the panini with your order, and have to get sides separately. Parking is often difficult because it’s all street parking and it’s hard to come across an open spot. But it’s worth the effort!
I've been going here every weekend for a couple months. I always get an iced mocha latte because it's delicious. Today, at 6:40 pm with a place full of customers eating (google says they close at 8 pm), the woman at the counter/register said they weren't taking any more orders when I attempted to order an iced mocha latte. Really? Too much to make one drink with a restaurant full of people. With so, so many options, I'll take my business elsewhere. So silly.
This place used to be amazing, and I used to highly recommend it to my friends for their panini. I've been hearing bad reviews from my friends recently about the food quality, but I didn't want to be doubtful without trying them. I ordered "Truffle Bacon Chicken" which contains chicken, smoke bacon, Truffle aioli, caramelized onion, dirty chips, and parmesan. As you can clearly see on these pictures, there is a lack of caramelized onion and dirty chips. This panini was overloaded with truffle aioli, which made this panini so dry and uneatable. I called the store right away, and I was informed to get a call the next day from a manager. Unfortunately, I never received any call from them. I called again the next day and I wasn't able to speak with the manager. This panini cost me $19.20. Please do not waste your money.
