This was such a nice spot with delicious food! The restaurant has a great vibe- candles on the table, cozy, it's very inviting. Perfect for an intimate date night for sure. If low lighting is an issue for you, I would not recommend this space. There aren't a crazy amount of tables here and there is a good flow, you can actually have a private conversation! The service was very good. Everyone was attentive to our needs, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was extremely good! I feel like portions are very appropriate for the price you pay, and the quality is outstanding. My husband and I got Udon and 3 normal rolls to share. Each bite was perfect. The tuna and salmon used in our sushi was very good quality. We will definitely be returning in the future after such a wonderful dine in experience!

Elaine the server has a lot of knowledge of the food here. She’s very quick and has a good character. My guest couldn’t decide but she got them on place and recommended something quick. Im glad she took initiative. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and the ambiance. She saw I was thirsty and would bring me water without asking. There was about 14people but she single handed controlled everything. Elaine and the Mexican sushi chef really made this place shine.

This was one of our greatest nights in Astoria. Costumer service was top of the line we even ordered take out cause everything was just so good. If you’re ever in Astoria and you’re a sushi lover don’t miss out on this one🥰.

I’ve been coming here for the last four years, great sushi. Definitely visit during lunch hour (ending 4pm) to get 3 rolls for $12 along with free salad and miso soup.

I had a very pleasant dinner on Saturday night with my family, food was fresh and delicious, excellent service and nice cozy ambiance. Favorite from this time was the Katsu bento box, sushi rolls were also well prepared and tasty and yummy miso soup. Rock shrimp was my least favorite perhaps it was the texture of the shrimp but other than that I will be returning soon to try more items from the menu. Prices are affordable as well we spent $90 for a family of 3 including two beers.

Cozy japanese restaurant. The sushi roll i LOVEEEE! The lunch bento box was $10! Great value for money. I got the beef teriyaki and tbh it wasn’t that great. It’s more of a pregrilled thin slice of beef topped with sauce. I would go for the sushi rolls instead. Service is on point tho!

Sakura is a hole in the wall Japanese restaurant in Astoria Ditmars that is affordable and delicious. While this restaurant appears rough around the edges, what it is lacking in ambiance it makes up for in flavor. This is a great place for a casual meal with friends but skip it if you are trying to impress a date.

The location is in Astoria. It is very clean and quiet place which I enjoyed. The problem was that the meal was too salty. I ordered hibachi beef. That was not hibachi beef. That was more of a very salty teriyaki beef. I complained to the waitress that my meal was very salty and that it gave my a headache. Her respond was "ok" with body language that said "I don't care." I repeated my complaint again and stressed it is very important not serve such salty meals to the customers and relate the message to the cook. She said Ok.There was no apology but a smile as if i was complementing her. She did speak English so I knew she understood me. She then went about her business. Though she was pleasent, I found that very rude of her not to have an explanation or an apology. I will not go there again unless I want to torture myself with high blood pleasure.

1 thing that I hate is when I pay extra for an item and I do not receive it or I do not get a decent portion of it. If I'm paying for 6 extra worth of sauce why are my containers not even halfway filled ? I rather buy from a store now than give you the business Order 70 dollars worth of food and they can't give me the sauce free or fill it up. So annoyed
