Tasty food, good portions, good prices. Incredibly happy to have this little diner in the neighborhood. Would recommend ducking in any time.
omg it is a very nice place the food is excellent !!! I recommend the place to have breakfast with family and friends the prices are reasonable and very good service and the coffee is delicious☕️🥐🥞🍔I Love it 😊
I ate one of the best Salmon Wraps I've had in a long time. It wasn't on the menu but they still made it for me.
Great diner with good portions. Had the Cali Benedict. Eggs poached perfectly. Potatoes were also good.
great food and excellent service - really good if you want a delicious and casual weekend breakfast
Fantastic Mexican food, the enchiladas and quesadilla sunrises are delicious.
I really recommend you this place. It has a great attention and the food was delicious. They were very kind with my baby 🤩
the staff is so kind and attentive and the food is out of this world!!
The food is excellent, the staff are great and the neighborhood is nice.
Delicious Breakfast, will definitely make it there again for another Sunday Brunch with the family !
Great food and service. Definitely recommend!! What a great place to have in the neighborhood! :)
Best omlette in a long time. Everything was perfect, friendly service, nice atmosphere, what else could you want?
Service and food outstanding. The chili was slamming. New diner with an old- school feel.
Great local diner low key quick and delicious
Good food, nice and comfortable place. Small but cozy. Try them
Had a great breakfast here. Service was good, but suffered a teeny because they are seriously understaffed. Great service considering one person seemed to be doing everything. I would definitely eat here again though.
A truly wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The staff here are wonderful - especially Angie (who goes above and beyond to be as friendly as possible). We love coming here and plan to make it a tradition to come on a regular basis! We’ve had the breakfast here (which was fantastic) and we can’t wait to try other parts of the menu! Prices are great too!
Everything was super delicious. Fettuccine was fabulous, great burger, great chicken Parm. We had to sample each other's dishes it was so good. Don't usually do that.
Sooo good! Chilaquiles and huevos rancheros were soooo flavorful and came out really fast. Will be back!
Very nice local diner. Had to be in the area and came across this diner. Didn’t know what to expect but it was very good. Service was fast, staff was friendly, good variety of meals to choose from and the food was very tasteful. Big portions.
Love this place so much. Food is always sooo fresh and quick. They deserve more hype.
We just moved to Astoria and this diner is already our go-to! The service is excellent and the food is delicious. The environment is very friendly and welcoming. The smoothies are 10/10!!
Food was great!! Service as well. Parking is a bit tricky but it’s worth it
I loved the food and the service. I asked for a recomandation, the waitress recomended the California omlete. It was just delicious. I also got to taste the blueberry pancakes. They were fresh made and extra fluffy.
Very nice and cozy diner. Clean establishment. Service was fast and food was amazing. My server Carmen was kind and provided the best service. Definitely recommend eating here!
Great local diner. Food is great for a reasonable price. Staff is friendly and attentive. Place is always clean and service is quick.
It's a basic diner that I found via Google maps. Wanted a quick simple breakfast and saw good reviews. Super fluffy pancakes and very pleasant staff.
I come here at least once a week, the staff are extremely friendly and the menu is huge. Yet to find a dish I haven't enjoyed.
Such a charming diner! We got the lumberjack breakfast and the Spartan omelette. Both were amazing. Can't wait to come back!
Awesome menu items, food is fresh and tasty, lovely staff and overall the best diner in the area!!
Chocolate chip pancakes were 10/10 Service was super quick - solid spot for breakfast considering the other options early in the AM nearby
The best Mexican food I've Ever tasted. This restaurant shows its love in every meal that they prepare
Loved this place! Positive, happy, clean atmosphere! Everyone is friendly. I often eat by myself and didn't feel out of place doing that here. Food comes fast. Very clean place, they really clean the tables after someone is done. Bathroom was clean too. Food was fine. Not bad at all. Not super special. You get what you order and what you pay for, which is very reasonably priced. Overall great experience and would def recommend if youre looking for a quick breakfast for yourself or a longer breakfast with friends.
I didn’t come here to speak on the food, cause I’ve never had it, I’ve come here to fill you in on where to find THE BEST SANGRIA in Astoria. I’m not kidding. It’s so tasty and they’ve got great happy hour deals. I can’t stop coming here and drinking it. Why is it so good. Also the waitstaff is so friendly. I stan the 35th ave diner sangria above all sangrias in the land.
We finally have a good diner in the neighborhood!!!! Great food and service, it was pleasure to meet Angie as well! +) Ive been going this place almost evrey week and it's been alway great. Especially if you are a vegetables lover, id like to recommend vegetable quesadilla!!! It was the best vegetable quesadilla ive ever eaten!
So excited for this diner! It's got a classic diner menu, lots of options. Good prices. I come here once a week for breakfast with my husband. Staff is really nice. Music selection is also always fun hah. Open until 11pm. There really isn't a place like this in the area - so go there and support them! Highly recommend!
I order a chicken wrap but as you can see I ate everything . Truly delicious and I am a picky eater at that so this was very surprising thanks to Pablo for the amazing hospitality and the chef for the food! Wish you the best bro! This is definitely a hidden gem so i recomen checking it out ! Plus there is many options so nothing is a limit!
Great food, drink, and service. This place is great!
Really awesome diner. The food is great and the staff is amazing. There was a miscommunication on my order, and they fixed it no issue. The waiter even ran out after me with my drink in a to-go cup. Really above and beyond.
Best Mexican food I’ve had since my time in Mexico City. Ate here yesterday and had to come back tonight. Had shrimp tacos, carnitas tacos, cheese flauta and the avocado salad. Oh! And an agua Fresca. All fresh tasting, light, flavorful. My new go to spot for takeaway.
The food quality is great, it is a bump up in price from some of the Mexican places in the area, but honestly you can taste the difference.
Absolutely love coming to Cantina 35! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The staff is warm, attentive, and makes you feel right at home every time. It’s truly a neighborhood gem, my favorite diner to go to.
Loved this food. The breakfast wrap was on point and by far the best one in Astoria. We need good diner food like this. Perfect spot.
The food was plentiful.. and the swrvers attentive. Nice atmosphere check it out
Loved this diner so much! Authentic homemade Mexican food, great service and an all round inviting atmosphere. Me and my Mam had Chilaquiles, it was our first time trying them and honestly, nothing will be taste the same when we go back to Ireland as we only have poor quality Mexican franchises. Definitely worth the trip to Queens! Only a few minutes walk from the subway too. Would love to go back!
Popped in here for a late lunch after touring Sinatra HS. Months later my daughter and I are still discussing the delicious French toast with fruit and the banana chocolate chip pancakes. The service was efficient and friendly, coffee was abundant, just a nice, easy going local diner. Also, the OJ is fresh squeezed and reasonably priced. We live pretty far away, but it would be worth the trip for a yummy brunch.
Been here twice and both times the food was tasty, fresh and hot. The service is speedy and friendly. The prices are good especially for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend Cantina 35.
Picked up a skirt steak with rice & beans. Guacamole and cheese etc on the side. With fresh lemonade. Everything was good. Thank you. My only complaint is why I could not see the business name on Google while doing a search. Other than that great!
I love coming here for lunch, it's my go-to spot for steak and eggs, they offer good food for a good price.
Flavorful chicken tinga huevos rancheros & chilaquiles with skirt steak & green sauce. Pleasant service and very Mexican ambience. Highly recommend!
New go-to in the neighborhood. Delicious, authentic Mexican. Inviting atmosphere with comfy seating, the food was well-seasoned and flavorful.
Love the cheese enchiladas! And all the Aguas frescas I’ve tried too :)
This diner is awesome. The food is always so good and the staff are friendly and attentive. They offer a wide selection and so far I have not had a bad meal. It’s a small place but it’s got a nice chill atmosphere. Very glad to have this place so conveniently located in the neighborhood.
We got the Birria tacos special. Best birria in the neighborhood! The “consomé” was generous and flavorful. We got it for takeout so can’t comment on presentation but taste was amazing! I hope they add it to the menu!
Fast service, decent food, and airy atmosphere. This diner has the interesting quirk of offering an extensive Mexican food menu in addition to the usual diner staples. While the home fries could have used more salt, the overall experience was still great. The server was chill, the diner was warm, and this was exactly the break I needed while visiting in Astoria. Overall: 9/10.
I had classic buttermilk pancakes with soft scrambled eggs - it came exactly as I'd expect, and they nailed the eggs! My boyfriend ordered and omlette as a soft scramble. The AC was nice and the service was good.

This place is a hidden gem in the LIC community. We touched down at Laguardia and took a short ride to our hotel and found this place. The food was wonderful we had omelets, breakfast potatoes and water. The atmosphere was very inviting and clean. The hostess was very nice and provided great customer service. We definitely would recommend this establishment.
We got the sopa and the birria tacos. Hands down the BEST birria I have had in the city the consome is always delicious. Not to mention the sopa is rich and warm as well. Service is quick and prices are good. Highly highly recommend.
Weekends bring such crowds that reservations become necessary. Their employees checked on us regularly. They used special components and served quickly. They focus on consistent quality and friendly interactions. The complete meal was excellent.
Kids really enjoyed the burgers, fries were home cut and crunchy. Food was good in general, place was nice and staff were friendly.
Love this spot. The staff is super sweet and the food is great. I almost always get the Sopa de Tortilla and the enchiladas, because they are so good I can’t get enough. Want to try the pancakes one day because they also look amazing.
Nice, quaint spot. Very good prices. Super nice & welcoming staff. Enjoyed a tasty breakfast here with my sister and had a mimosa each. I had a positive experience and would visit again.

Staff was great but I found the Cuban sandwich a bit bland.
We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and had a pleasant brunch w/ the kids. The pancakes w/ berries and whip cream were good as well as the french toast, sausage, and eggs benedict. I would prefer maple syrup over corn syrup but it's a minor issue. Everything was cooked well and was tasty. The service was good, friendly, and attentive. It's a pretty small diner but they make good use of the space and were able to sit us comfortably including a high chair. They sell cakes up front for occasions as well. It's good to finally have a restaurant in this location to replace the old one (Rest au Rant) that had closed down years ago. There are plenty of things on the menu so we will definitely be back to try more!
Angie is worth visiting this corner diner alone. She is so friendly and creates such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. My omelette was awesome and the coffee was great.
It was an okay experience. They are extremely nice. They’re just starting up so I don’t want to be too harsh. The food was not that great, maybe will get better.
Had the birria it was amazing! Their omelettes are great as well.
I ordered a BLT to go. Prepared well and tasted fine. No mayo, which I didn't know I had to specify. Decent spot
The service was great and the food was fresh and tasty. It was a little quiet but maybe it was that time of day. The price was reasonable. Just wished there was specials of the day and maybe a little more items on the menu like a regular diner.
I had a pleasant experience at this newly opened diner. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My simple breakfast of eggs over easy, bacon, hash-browns, and rye-toast was simple and tasty. No bells and whistles. And the coffee was good, too. Only drawback, the music was unnecessarily loud for a morning crowd. They use Spotify without a subscription and the advertisements are frequent and distractingly loud. Otherwise, I’ll make this a regular “go-to”. I wish them every success. Cheers!
We discovered this place today and are glad we found it! The food is hit or miss—the eggs Benedict was fantastic, but the waffles were unfortunate. Other reviews say the pancakes are great, so we will try that next time. The server was so friendly and we liked the atmosphere. Will definitely go again!
The food was delicious! The coffee could have been fresher to begin with.

I really didn't know what I thought when we walked in, there was good food at all, Mexican!!!
The service was amazing. The food was fine. Really expensive for just fine so might not be back unless someone visiting really wants to try it.
Visited this spot on my way to NYC. It was a small place with typical dinner food. Nothing spectacular, but the service was above average and the carried some unique natural juices. If you are ever in the Long Island City area, give them a try.
The music can be a little loud. The waitress that served us was nice, but I will say that it seemed a little bit, rushed due to the fact that every couple minutes she would come over and ask if you wanted a drink. Even when we weren’t finished ordering yet, but other than that, I guess that’s a good thing. They are very attentive but if you’re someone who just likes to take your time, it doesn’t like to be rushed then that may bother you. I did like the atmosphere. It was a little cramped but the music and the design of the restaurant was very nice. It was very cute. I did like the vibe and I also loved the food. The food was delicious. There was nothing wrong with it. I definitely recommend the quesadillas and the tamarind drink.
We were enticed by the 4.8 rating. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant is clean, but there's room for improvement. The coffee is water down, and doesn't taste great. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict also needs work. Also the items are overpriced, $5 for a small cappuccino. Our bill was high for this type of diner. Lastly and most importantly the restaurant needs better insulation, there's cold air coming from the walls, the windows, and everywhere to be honest. We were freezing.

As a white person who loves Mexican food, I was really hoping that the authentic dishes on the menu like Huevos Rancheros or chilaquiles would be authenticly spicy. They play to their largely white clientele, so cry secretly to yourself and order the highly competent American eggs & bacon, pancakes and such. Too bad since making authenticly spicey enchilada sauce is so easy to make for those of us coming for Mexican, especially with a real Mexican grocery literally next door.

I've tried to eat here on several occasions and there's always something wrong. The last time I went with my friend for breakfast. I cannot eat eggs, so I asked to have one of the breakfast dishes without the eggs. They made a big production out of it, took 20 minutes to finally say ok we'll make an exception 'this time'. I was literally asking for them to make the same dish, just without the eggs. No thanks, I'm good. If you can't honor an allergy issue, you don't need my money. Also had a muffin a few weeks before that was so dry I almost choked myself. The food smells good but there are way too many other great places to eat in the neighborhood to be dealing with this nonsense.
Usually this place is good but today I ordered a chicken quesadilla and there were huge pieces of bone in it - sharp and a choking hazard. I called and they said “it’s normally like that”. This needs to be fixed - super dangerous!

Mediocre as it best service it took in an empty restaurant a single omelets order 45 minutes to come to my table with a cupnof oatmeal that was like a soup .
I’ve got fried calamari (it was ok to good) then chicken platter. Some stripes of chicken on the pita bread. It was more fries a bunch of salad with no condiment and I found HAIR!
This is not what you think, over priced and not authentic Mexican. Sorry for there are better places and besides it’s not a diner.
Tried to eat here more than once, the first time the food just wasn’t very good (overcooked, brown omelets and dried toast). The second time, my partner ordered pancakes, which were wet and uncooked in the middle. I literally thought pancakes were the easiest thing to make, guess not. They also charged us for a side of eggs we never received. Won’t be going back, which sucks because it’s nice having a diner in the neighborhood.
Terrible - paid $18.00 for two slices of ham and about 1/2 oz. Of " chicken " ; to make matters worse the person that charged me just helped herself to the change from my $20 bill, then I asked for a 12oz. Ginger ale and gave her $3 didn't hear a peep about the change for that too. I mean I am at least a good tipper but that was just unprofessional. Sorry.
