A delightful gem! This cozy spot has it all: a treasure trove of teas, cakes, biscuits, and tasty nibbles—and surprise, they’ve got beers too! The cherry on top? Quirky, thought-provoking readings you can dive into (check the pics!). The staff? Absolute sweethearts. The vibe? Calm, welcoming, and oh-so-inviting. It’s the kind of place that feels like a warm hug in a cup—or a bottle of beer!
Cute cafe with warm decor and friendly owner! I was in the area looking for a place to sit between appointments and happened to see here. Immediately drawn into the welcoming atmosphere of this small cafe. Wifi available, usual assortment of lattes and drinks, plus a few bites of pastries. Very clean bathroom as well. Nicely quiet when I was there but I can imagine it filling up easily.
Charm, charm, charm , this place has Astoria charm and I loved it. You get a real authentic Astoria feel from this place, which I really enjoyed. There were two ladies running it and they were very nice. I was in the neighborhood for an American Ballet Theater, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School event at Frank Sinatra School of The Arts. I was so happy to find this place nearby. I had their delicious avocado toast. But even better, was their cold brew coffee. WOW, WOW this coffee was so good, that I came back at lunch for more. My little one had their breakfast croissant 3 times and was very happy. So, if you must hang around for an entertainment production, stop here and get some coffee and a treat.
My favorite cafe! The food here is always so fresh and the staff is the best. I have never had a negative experience here. Thanks to Sweet Scene I have found my Astoria community. I’m so grateful to Vera and Eleni for the atmosphere they have cultivated. They also have really good coffee (as a caffeine addict lol) and the pastries are day of! I used to live a mile away and would walk here all the time!
wow this spinach pie is absolutely amazing. i donno who made it but major props yall
This is a nice little spot in the neighborhood. Comfortable seating, clean, with ample table space. It’s a good spot to do a little reading or laptop work. I had breakfast here. I had the French Toast with blueberries and a Chai Latte. Everything tasted like perfection. Service was friendly and quick. Patrons were respectful of everyone.
This is my favorite weekend spot in Astoria. I love to see the friendly faces, both customers and owners. The cafe is super clean and now serves beer and wine! It's my happy place! I love the Greek eggs, mini sandwiches and brownies. I can't say enough good things about the Sweet Scene!!
Thank you. It’s small coffee store with professional LaMarzocco coffee machine. Thank you for coffee. I’d like to keep holders on coffee machine posts, it makes espresso more hot.
Really loved chillin here before the evening rush. Great place and atmosphere for coffee by yourself or with a group. The hot chocolate here was just right, not too sweet, not too bland. Nice, rich, and creamy. Really appreciated the calm vibe of it all. 10/10.
The prices are the absolute main reason I go here. The iced coffee is 2.25 for a small and that’s a lot better than other places in Astoria. They have a wide range of other coffee drinks and teas. I haven’t tried any of their lunches but it looks good. The setting inside is very beautiful and so is the outside seating. They also sell reusable metal straws for $1 when normally it would be like $7 on amazon.
It’s small, dog friendly and the best coffee in the area.

Lovely place with delicious savory and sweet food options (we had avocado toast and bougatsa) and good coffee.
Amazing place. So invited. You walk in and it feels like family. The staff, especially the owner, are all wonderful. I go there with my 1 year old daughter and always get the vegan Spinach pie. OMG sooooo freaking good. I can eat so many of them but I restrict myself to one. Even my daughter loves it. She gets so happy when we stroll on into the cafe because she knows what that means. I hope to try other items but just can’t let go of that spinach pie. Ugh so good lol
BEST COFFEE PLACE IN ASTORIA!!! And I’ve been to a lot growing up here. The food is so fresh — you can tell that they use high quality ingredients! And the place is very clean which is always a huge, huge plus for me! I especially love the eggs and feta plate and their cheese danishes are to die for. The coffee is absolutely amazing, especially the cappuccino and cold brew. You can tell the owners, Vera and Eleni, know what they’re doing. The best service I’ve received is directly from the owners. They are extremely friendly and attentive to their customers. Always an excellent experience when I come here. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars. GO HERE — VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Truly a gem in Astoria managed by a mother and daughter duo. The dine-in menu items are freshly made to order and pastries are baked day-of. The coffee is robust and well brewed. Do yourself a favor and stop by! You’ll always be warmly greeted and leave happily satiated.
Finally getting around to writing a review, this is my favorite local coffee shop! It's so homey and the family who runs it are so sweet. They make great cappuccinos and I love that their sandwiches are always fresh! I'm moving a little further away soon but still plan to stop by for a treat every so often :) highly recommend!

This is a very wonderful cafe. I’ve been coming here for just over a year and I am always pleased. The food is home cooked and always fresh. Eleni and Vera always have a smile. The space makes me feel like I’m going into my grandmothers kitchen, which brings back so many beautiful memories.

Worth it just for the banana bread. Coffee was also really good nice little local place to sit. However, steer away from the breakfast sandwiches, they're as big as a carrot from a bad harvest.

Really small cute place. I liked the hot chocolate. The French sandwich with Brie was really tiny for the price. The service was okay, they don't greet you when you come in. It's a small place and the counter is near the door, they see the customers walk in and still remain silent like you're not even there.

Stopped in recently and ordered a decaf oat milk cappuccino (over $6), and it just didn’t hit the mark. The flavor was weak, the oat milk wasn’t well textured, and overall the drink felt a bit underwhelming—especially given the price. We thought about trying a cookie, but the pastries didn’t look totally fresh, so we passed. Perhaps it was because it was towards the end of the day. I’m sure other items on the menu are great—especially given the many many positive reviews—but with so many excellent cafes popping up around Astoria and Long Island City, the bar is quite high for cappuccinos. We have choices, and unfortunately, this one didn’t stand out.
I'm sharing a detailed review following 2 visits to this cafe because I really believe it has promise. However, the unkindness by the owner and someone I assume to be her daughter, truly ruined this cafe for me. FYI my boyfriend and I came here together both times and we ordered both food and drinks. 1st visit: The older woman who (I believe) owns the shop was training a spanish-speaking woman. She was quite cold to her, but nice to us. Experience was great and we worked peacefully for a few hours, until the owner's (I assume) daughter arrived. She was berating the owner from the moment she stepped in the door and was blatantly scolding her in a loud and rude tone. The daughter took over the shift while the owner was outside and during this time, a painting from the wall fell off (I didn't move at all) and the wood frame landed right on my head. What did the daughter do? Showed zero concern. She walked over, said "oh, sorry," hid the frame, then walked back behind the counter. You'd think if I got hit in the head with a piece of wood, I'd AT LEAST get an "are you okay," but at most I'd be offered a pastry or something. Nope. We left right afterwards with a bad taste in our mouths. 2nd visit: The owner was training a new person, this time a young man. I can understand why it's a revolving door given the rudeness I witnessed the first time. Ordered the usual lunch and coffee. My boyfriend stepped out to get a gyro plate down the street and when he returned, he tried to take a quick bite while the plate was still in the bag. All we hear is, "DON'T DO THAT, DON'T DO THAT!" The voice sounded like it was wrangling pre-school children. We looked up and she yelled it again. We immediately left. It's alright if it was a rule that was being enforced, no hard feelings about that. I think it was the blatant unprofessionalism, plus the first experience we had, that prompted me to write this review. I really feel that if they were kinder, this would be a 4/5 or 5/5 cafe. And maybe if you're popping in for a quick pastry or coffee, it is a 5/5 experience. But if you sit around long enough, I guarantee you will not have a good experience. I speculate that's probably why it's always empty inside, even though it's a lovely cafe...
