Awesome Italian restaurant at a great location. Menu was somewhat limited though. Compliments to the chef!

Such a wonderful addition to the Austin restaurant scene. An intimate setting, excellent wine list and great food. If you need to take a break waiting for Mopac traffic to clear, this is a perfect spot to sneak away.

This is a small, local restaurant, but it’s so classy, and the food is fantastic. They have a great wine selection, and delightful dishes. Don’t miss out on the short ribs if they are available

Great food, wine and and appetizers...The friendly hostess Naomi and waiter Luke will keep you coming back with their friendliness and love of what they do. I feel that this place is another hidden gem with cozy atmosphere with classic content. I will definitely come again and would recommend this establishment if you hungry and thirsty for Italian dining.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The setting is beatiful, the staff are attentive and helpful, and the food is excellent. I highly recommend the rosemary polenta. Crispy fried outside, creamy smooth inside paired with a luscious gorgonzola cream sauce. This is comfort food exalted! The beet and burrata salad is fantastic! Red and gold beets roasted to bring out their earthy sweetness pair beautifully with the buttery burrata. The arugula and lemon dressing add a peppery bite to the dish, contrasting nicely with and not overshadowing the more subtle tones from the beets and cheese. Spaghetti and meatballs is well executed. Meatballs are tender and flavourful, the tomato sauce is excellent with bright, fresh basil and tender green onions accenting the dish. Portions are large, but they make lovely, little bitty puff pastries and will serve you just 1 when you're full but want to try a small bite of something sweet. Flakey, buttery pastry with rich cream and chocolate. Delish!!

Last night, my family and I (11 people) went to 68 Degrees Kitchen and we LOVED it! The food was outstanding. The Fettucine with Portabella and Crimini Mushrooms was awesome. The Mac and Cheese Balls were definitely a favorite at our table. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Luke was excellent. He catered to our needs with no problem. Everyone loved his presence and did a great job. We all enjoyed it very much, and plan to go again.

This was our 5th visit to 68 degrees and every experience has been great. Food and service is excellent and we look forward to dining here again soon. Our favorites have been the Chicken Parmigiana and Linguini with Shrimp.

There's plenty of reviews about the food. It's really good. What I want to mention is the service. The team is great. No matter who helps us out, they've got a positive attitude and willing to go the extra mile to make us happy. We have 4 kids and we all know how difficult they can be sometimes, but it didn't phase them.

One of the most underrated spots in Austin - fantastic quality, cozy, and not pretentious. Experience dining here is so much better than other better-known Italian places!

Love the wine list, decor, service, menu, parking and staff! Thank your for having all my favorite things!! Found my favorite lunch spot! Nothing better than a cheese board paired with Frogs Leap Chardonnay and Salmon Salads!!

We love Andiamo in Santa Fe and were excited to see they are sister restaurants. Our group ate at 68 degrees for my sister's bachelorette weekend and had an amazing time. The service was great and everyone loved the food. Thanks for a great evening!

Great service, friendly staff, and small but very satisfying menu flexibility! I went here with my office for a team dinner and was worried they wouldn't have Vegan options. The waitress walked me through the menu and suggested the Fettuccine with Portabella and Crimini Mushrooms · spinach, (removed) fried artichokes, tomato, truffle oil and (removed) parmesan cheese. The rest of their menu a bit hard to be flex-able with but a few of their salads can also be converted. Their bread appetizer is also vegan. The meal was delightful! I hope to see in the future more flexibility towards meatless and dairy free options, as they would most certainly expand their their market base!

Really good food and a very friendly staff! Definitely will eat here again. Had great gluten-free and vegetarian options. Really good calamari and chicken parm! Definitely will eat here for meals to come!

Fantastic and cozy vibe inside the restaurant. Our server Ketino was extremely helpful and welcoming and really made our whole experience. The food is delicious and there’s a great wine selection. We’re definitely planning on returning soon and look forward to trying more of the dishes.

Had dinner last night with another couple. Atmosphere casual, relaxed and friendly. We all enjoyed our food immensely. I had a lasagna special which was delicious,. My husband had the Bolognese and loved it. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Hope to go back soon.

I had the ravioli special and my husband had chicken parmesan. We had profiteroles and tiramisu for desert before heading to the Paramount for the Croce Plays Croce show. So so good. We had the nicest server, and I'm sorry I can't remember her name. We really really enjoyed our dinner.

Reliably excellent Italian cuisine with friendly service and a classic ambience. Our favorites include the Bolognese and the fried polenta. Would love it if they made the carbonara a regular menu item, but it's also a great treat when they have it.

Cool place, nice patio and overall a good spot to sit down and have a nice Italian meal. Service was excellent. Walked in and was greeted right away by the host who promptly sat us. Our server was on point. She told us the specials and did not rush us to order. I ordered a greens salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. There was at least 6 meatballs. Great. Was kinda hoping for some bread and olive oil on the table for the prices but hey, the food was fantastic and served HOT (temperature) molto bene! Very extensive wine menu and the water was fresh tasting and refilled multiple times throughout our mean. Oh yeah no pizza! But I mean hey- the food is so good I didn’t miss it at all. The entrance to the restroom was a bit dirty, the door was a little worn and a bit cramped. However it is nice to have a restroom you can lock the door inside. The checkout process was fine. They bring the check and then come back with a mobile payment terminal. As soon as I was about to cringe bc of that, our server walked away and gave us some privacy and didn’t hover over us for the tip screen part. Thank you for doing that. Over all it was a hit. We had a great time and this is definitely on our list of good Italian spots in Austin. Will be back!

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I don’t even live in Texas right now, and I crave chicken parm at least once a week. The food is very well-made, the vibes are right on and the service has been so perfect every single time. You have to try this place!!!

Good food, nice ambience, good selection of wines. We ordered the Fettuccine with mushrooms and Penne with spicy sausage , both were good though slightly under seasoned. Also had the Calamari appetizer which was really good. Had Tiramisu for desert which was excellent.

68° is a wonderful restaurant in South Austin with unique and flavorful food. The staff is attentive and engaging, offering suggestions and providing details about the food's origins. Matt was our server, and he made the evening very enjoyable. It's has a romantic ambiance without being too formal. Highly recommended!

68 is one of our favorite date spots. The food is always incredible. We've had just about everything on the menu and keep going back. Lamb rigatoni, caesar salad, polenta, and fettuccini are some of our favs. Also, every wine is amazing. We've had Matt as our waiter most recently, and he is so knowledgable and fun!

M
Mim Luetje

We love 68 Degrees, chef Marion's menu, the staff's execution, and the service! These people work hard to make customers feel like welcome guests and excel at all the dishes we've ordered. The Bolognese is classic: you won't find a better version in Austin. Lamb Ragu? Delicious. Salads and apps? Above par. The wine list offers a great selection of old and new world juice. Go eat there!

I truly enjoyed my dinner. I don't remember the last time I've finished my whole plate of food. My pasta was super good and the fries were well seasoned. My friend's Mac& cheese balls were good as well. And the tiramisu was exactly what I needed to end my wonderful dinner.

This is the perfect place to drop in for a quiet meal. I dropped in for lunch before the pandemic and had a very nice time on the patio. The chicken parm was excellent and the profiteroles with Amy's ice cream were delicious. Will be back for dinner service and to try the wine menu!

Donna was FABULOUS! The Picatta was not as good as mine, BUT the lamb/pork ariagatta was to DIE FOR! Request Donna & tip her appropriately. I have ZERO complaints about this place!!

Had an outstanding experience at 68 degrees kitchen as I visited Austin!!! The food here is super delicious and tasty especially the Chicken Parmesan which comes with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce. Staff here is super friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is clean and modern looking. Highly recommend this Italian Restaurant!!! Also, I give this place 10 stars!!

Delicious Italian food. We were big fans of La Traviata on Congress Ave. and we had no idea that this was a sister restaurant. The ingredients are fresh, the service is excellent, and the restaurant is unassuming but inviting and the food exceeded our expectations.

One of my favorite dining experiences in all of Austin. Went there tonight for my anniversary, and everything was perfection. The patio ambiance was beautiful, service from Donna was impeccable, and the food was flawless. We started with bread and fried macaroni balls, which were much lighter than we expected in the best way. The chicken parmesan had just the right amount of crispy breading, while the sauce on the spicy shrimp linguini was good enough to drink. Dessert was a real standout with dark chocolate profiteroles and their special Italian ice of the day, blood orange, with Amy's ice cream. The restaurant went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, and I could not recommend it enough. Hats off to the chef and the whole team. We will definitely be coming back again!

My wife and I had dinner here after an event nearby. I booked the reservation last minute after reading other reviews. Our meal was absolutely wonderful. The attention to detail was apparent throughout the meal. The Chicken Parmigiana was crispy and delicious. The Crispy Polenta was appetizer a great way to start off our meal. We will definitely be back again.

Pleasant lunch place. We started with a Caesar salad. A bit different than usual presentation wise, it's was whole lettuce leaves but it was good nonetheless because each ones were coated with the seasoning. Our entree were the Fettuccine with Mushrooms and Spaghetti with Tomato & Basil with a side of chicken. First one had nice earthy flavor but a little too saucy for my taste. Second one was flavorful in a way it was letting the tomatoes and basil shine. I am not sure if it was the normal, but the amount of "side" chicken was huge and that made the portion quite a challenge to finish! I didn't mind though since I was starving. Lastly we had a Tiramisu. To me it lack coffee flavor and there was too much mascarpone compare to the lady fingers.

The food here is amazing. There are daily specials and that's what we went for. The turnip soup and field salad were perfectly balanced with flavor, freshness, and seasonal produce. The ravioli were vegetarian and bomb, but what really impressed me was the service. We arrived 20 minutes before closing and were enthusiastically greeted and welcomed. They let us sit outside and it was a beautiful night on their patio. The server was cheerful and not overattentive and did not rush us. One of the best experiences I've had eating out in Austin.

Went here for dinner during Austin Restaurant Week 2022. Absolutely a wonderful experience. Atmosphere is cozy and contemporary, staff were very attentive. Crispy polenta was fabulous. Fettuccine with Portabella and Cremini mushrooms was delicious.. fettuccine perfectly cooked, mushrooms were nice and earthy, and oh the sauce :) I will definitely be back. Nice a selection of wines, too.

I have to say this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We had the amazing calamari, Mac and cheese bites, and the special burrata for apps. All were 10/10. Great find in Austin. Needed a dose of Italian food. We made the right choice with 68 Degrees. Great food n service. The pastas were as good as any place here in NY.

A cute, casual place for lunch. The duck bread (no duck involved, I hope, since I am a pescatarian) was crispy and chewy. I could of made a meal out of it. Some of the cheeses on the cheese plate were lacking in flavor. The mixed greens salad with grilled salmon was huge. I made 2 meals out of it. It tasted better at home when I added more olive oil and white balsamic vinegar to it.

J
Joie Roberts

Glad there is another restaurant in our neighborhood! I really like the atmosphere with the outside and inside dining options. The food is good, but too salty for me. We ordered the polenta, which was great and two pasta dishes that were pretty good. The linguini with tuna and the penne with sausage. The linguini was very fishy tasting, but still very good. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the salt hangover I had for 2 days after.

P
P

Great service and great atmosphere. Most of the dishes we had were great but the pasta dishes seem to be made with standard dried pasta like what you would find in a grocery store, which was a little bit of a let down. I would expect a place like this to use homemade pasta.

D
Denise Geleitsmann

Great atmosphere, good food and wine. Service was quite slow but we weren't in a hurry. Server said they don't have any management there which can create chaos when they run into a problem, which I guess happened the night we were there. Don't really understand why they wouldn't have a manager and the server said it sure would be helpful if they did.

T
Tim McCabe

Food was good. The service was OK. To be fair it was a busy night. They could use additional fans on the patio, better yet misters. We'll return, but won't eat on the patio.

Great little place with good food and nice atmosphere. It's small so be prepared to wait and their parking lot is small so get there early if you want to park in front of the building. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive and it's all and all a cite little gem that I will be coming back to. If you're wondering, they do have outdoor seating although in all this heat not sure if you want to sit out there.

N
Nathaniel Winkler

Friendly staff. I recommend making a reservation. The patio is small and the tables are close together. I was disappointed there was only wine and beer no whiskey/bourbon/gin or hard liquor at all. Keep that in mind if you want a drink and dont drink wine or beer. But if you snag one on the lake side you will enjoy a nice view and sunset foe dinner. Service was great and yhe food was decent. The ravioli seems like it is made fresh, as it is a bit chewy. Overall nice experience.

Service was great and sat my party early even though we were a bit early for our reservations. Great atmosphere and nice patio if it’s not too hot. Great list of wines - our server was super knowledgeable about the list and had awesome recommendations. The pasta I had was a bit bland in my opinion, could’ve used more seasoning. Otherwise great experience

D
David Graham

Very nice meal and enjoyed the vibe. One thing, when you pay your bill and tip, it doesn't mean the service is over. I would have liked a server back for more water or, well, anything as we waited for the Uber.

E
Eric Stouffer

Really good food. Service was a bit slow for a semi busy Thursday evening before 7pm. Parking sucks. Nice dining room. Patio would be great on cooler evenings but we opted for inside because it was hot. Great flourless chocolate dessert. Great polenta starter. Lamb sausage was a bit gamey but sauce and pasta with it was really good. Mushroom pasta was excellent. Wine selection was quite good, mostly Italian. For hot weather they could have a few more dry rose's by the glass.

n

Had a great meal at 68 degrees. The food was excellent - I had a smoked mushroom pasta that was out of this world. Our server wasn’t very good, but my friends said that was unusual. I’ll definitely go back.

N

Had the 3 cheese ravioli special and it was fantastic! At some Italian restaurants the ravioli plates are often too small to feel full. Here it was just enough along with the aoli fries appetizer we had. Reason for four stars is my wife didn't like her food as much as I liked mine. Service was wonderful and really enjoyed my date.

Our first time to 68 Degrees for a Valentines Fixed menu. Little awkward parking as Goodwill chained off one side of entrance. Nice waitress and food very tasty. Only issue was we ordered steak medium until waitress apologized it is served only medium rare. Never experienced that before, especially with a limited fixed menu.

Nice Westside Italian restaurant across the street from Derp Eddys. My friend says he judges Italian restaurants based on their Bolognese pasta, and it was great at 68 Degrees! I've had lunch here (twice), but never dinner. Lunch crowd is fairly small (I asked and they said 20 people during lunch was good) and plenty of parking for the lunch crowd. Attentive service (only 1 waiter due to crowd size) and cozy atmosphere. High recommendations!

The food was good, but the service was bizarre. Among other things, a few of us received plates with side items missing and were told that the chef was unable to make our side items due to a backup in the kitchen. Seriously? That's unacceptable after your order has been confirmed. I do not plan to go back.

68 degrees is a good restaurant. We went on a Friday evening at 630 pm and they were way understaffed, so service was slow. The staff was frantic. The food was good. The ravoli was ok. The spaghetti bolognese was very good. The panacotta was very good as well.

Great atmosphere, great wine selection, friendly staff, but the food is not as flavorful as you would expect from an Italian kitchen, our dishes were very under seasoned and food was very “meh”, chicken parm was bland and the spicy lamb sausage was far from being spicy.

From where I was seated there was a great view of the kitchen. I gotta tell ya… this guy in the photo was working hard. Food was ok. Friendly staff.

Great atmosphere and kind service. The food is ok. Pasta resembled boxed from a grocery store and sauces were underwhelming. All guests at dinner are…not feeling well. I would not return.

Great location, simple menu, no wait time for your food. It’s a high turnover restaurant, sit-eat-go concept. Small tables are not comfortable for more than two people to enjoy their time. Literally everybody sitting on the same table you can hear what conversation going on, it’s pretty hard to communicate with your lads. If you are at indoor you can smell all the kitchen, so I do not recommend sit inside during the peak times if you want to enjoy what you eat and drink. I think the business needs someone who can run this place smoothly with organization, I contacted 5 different person for ordering and just 10-12 tables indoor. You might be get good experience during the slow times but hopefully this place will be get better.

We went before Thanksgiving so maybe that's why it was meh? We got the fettichini with mushrooms and added chicken. It was underseasoned but with healthy portions. Also got mixed green salad that was ok as well. We tried the bolonese and the ravioli and had the same underseasoned issues. The thing that shined was the polenta appetizer. It was crispy and flavorful with a great sauce. I'd try this place one more time but it's on probation.

Great food but extremely disappointed in this place. I had a 9pm reservation on Valentines and was excited for an excellent experience. I have experience serving and working in restaurants and found it completely unacceptable that it took over 15 minutes to be greeted, and 27 minutes from the time we were sat to get our drinks. With no mix drinks available, I found it insane that it took 13 minutes to receive our drinks after placing our order. We had to rush through our dinner as we had a second reservation for that night to make. If I’m spending $215 for a dinner for two, I expect service to provide a great experience. This place has no business charging these prices for such mediocre effort.

The service is really great. I arrived little bit early before my reservation time. I was told about specials and I asked specifically if the Ravioli is made fresh and she said yes we make all our pasta fresh. When the food areived, the portion was bit questionable. However the food quality was surely below par my expectations. Ravioli was hard and did not seem freshly made and no offense but the plate was cold.. The place has good ambiance.

The veal was tough and the marsala had no flavor. The calamari puttanesca had no flavor and the squid was cold. Everthing needed salt and pepper and even that didn't help much. The only saving grace was the waitress who was very nice.

Wine selection was ok. However, I feel bad for any couples that went here on valentines days. We both left feeling very ill after eating their food. Not so romantic!

We ordered the chicken parmesan and grilled salmon, with caprese salad and the Cesar salad to go. The caprese salad was 70% large tomato wedges with a couple small slices of mozzarella; Cesar salad wasn't cut up at all; and the chicken parmesan sauce tasted like it was from a can. Beautiful ambiance inside, but definitely not worth $60.

The food was mostly bland. I got the trout, which was unseasoned (vegetables were also unseasoned). My family got the Classic Bolognese, Fettuccine with portabella and cremini mushrooms, linguine with shrimp, hatch green chile pork stew, and the calamari. The linguine with shrimp was good, but the others were not that tasty. Most of us could barely finish half of our plates because it was so unenjoyable. We also tried to sit in an empty area, which was fine for a while, but then a huge group was seated right next to us. We felt the staff should have told us that they were expecting a huge group so that we could have made the decision to eat outside. The ambience is nice, but we probably won't be back unless we only get wine.

We had a larger party (12 ppl) but still waited about 1.5 hours for our food. I ordered the Mac and cheese balls and only got 5 out of the 7 I was supposed to get and they were still cold inside and desperately needed seasoning. They were nice enough to give it to us for free but the rest our food also needed a lot of seasoning. I wouldn’t come here again.

Honestly… didn’t feel like any of our food had any flavor. Our Caesar salad was a wet piece of lettuce with barely any dressing on it. The bruschetta was gross. Our pasta was subpar. I make better linguini at home. Won’t be coming back :(

If you like "new" takes on classic cuisine this is your place. I'm not sure if it's an Austin hipster thing, but it's definitely not classic Italian and it is overpriced. The next day I get a notification from Open Table stating that we didn't honor our reservation?

We were a party of 4 and enjoyed the enclosed patio seating. Nice ambiance and the weather was awesome. The food quantity and taste was mid. We have had great Italian trattoria fare in other cities and really enjoyed it. What inspired me to write this review is the dessert. Our waitress recommended the Profiteroles. These were very very meh. The creme filling tasted greasy and slightly rancid. The chocolate was very quotidian. The ice creme tasted like it was supposed to. And on top of that for some inexplicable reason she charged us more for it.

Not sure if Mother's Day was an exception but we had a 7:30 reservation for 4 and had to wait even though we showed up early. Another party of 3 showed up before us with a 7:30 reservation and was seated immediately. I over heard the host blaming the seating/reservation system. There was another party of 4 with in the same situation so the staff put together a table. It was basically packing a party of 4 in a 2 person setting. Neither party was pleased with sitting at a small table while starring at the outside table uncomfortably. They need to get it together... not sure if it's worth another attempt.

Valentines dinner was so bad that I was legitimately embarrassed to have taken my wife here. I never want to come here again, and based on my impressions of the place, I honestly think they only still exist because of their location.

My experience at 68 Degrees Kitchen was horrendous. I dinned with a large party, was given the wrong order. Waitress gave me a smirk when I informed her of the incorrect dish; she proceeded to bring out the correct dish suspiciously fast. The chicken that I attempted to eat was under-cooked and quite frankly, disgusting. After the completion of our meal, the waitress looked at me and asked "what's wrong", I told her that my chicken was under-cooked and tasted poor, she replied with an unemphatic "sorry" and took my dish away. Furthermore, the waitress forced our party to divie up our own check, calculating who ordered what dish (we were a large group, completely inappropriate). I am astonished at our porous treatment at 68 Degrees and cannot fathom that I spent 16 dollars on a meal I could not eat. The management made no attempt to remedy our experience. I will recommend friends and family to avoid this establishment.

Really a bummer... Tried to seat us at 6:30 by a wall with a fire extinguisher . Restaurant was 95% empty. The staff managed to seat a very young couple at that terrible table shortly there after. As the menu goes ..no Chardonnay .. No margarita pizza as advertised . The calamari was tough as leather...really as bad as I have ever had . The ravioli was in a tomato sauce out of a can at Randalls . The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive . ...if you're trying to be successful go visit the Grove and learn from their menu , food and wine list.

Don’t come here if you don’t want to deal with the rude owner/manager. I was parked in the parking lot for a solid 30min with no issues. I was just trying to eat my food after a long day. The second I hop out the car to throw my garbage away (in the public trash can, NOT the businesses garbage) and the owner suddenly storms out the establishment and starts SCREAMING at me. He rudely yells at me from across the parking lot to move my car and that I can’t park here despite the entire parking lot being completely empty and me being parked there already for 30 mins. I had no clue I wasn’t allowed to park there. If you had an issue I would’ve appreciated it if you approached me like a normal person and asked me to please move my car instead of screaming at me from across the parking lot like a jerk. No wonder this place is always so empty. I was curious about this restaurant before, but now I will definitely not be spending my money here.

My hubby reserve this for valentine dinner . Overly crowded place . Food quality is really taste less . Thanks

Zero vibe and rushy waiters, we hoped the food would be redeemable but it was awful - lacked any seasoning (mac & cheese balls & calamari), side salad was limp and our mains were even worse. The “braised pork” looked and tasted like boiled blocks of meat and the pasta had zero flavour. Won’t be returning - over priced for terrible food
