Visited on a weekend evening. Newly opened South Indian restaurant and menu is all vegetarian. Good hospitality and quick serving. Dosa and combo tiffin items are good. Wide parking space with accessibility option available. Felt the menu is bit pricey. Can visit for vegetarian option in Research Blvd.
Ordered just one dish - paneer 65 biryani - and based off just that, we cannot wait to go back and sample more. Flavorful, not too greasy, very generous amount with heaps of giant paneer chunks. Lady who took order and checked us out was friendly as can be. Very excited to find another great Indian restaurant to add to the rotation and excited for a place to go with vegetarian friends.
Delicious and fresh food, good portions, and great service. We really enjoyed the Weekend Thali and Tiffin Combo #4. Will be coming back again and again. So happy this restaurant is added to Austin! Thank you for a great meal!
We tried their Veg Thali and it's very good. All items provided in Thali are tasty and balanced in flavors. I would highly recommend if anyone is looking for Authentic South Indian Thali. Please note that portions are small and they don't refill including Rice. So, you may need to order extra bowl of rice or roti.
One of the more expensive south indian restuarants, but food quality is good and the taste is exemplary. Tried their benne dosa (wish they gave 3 instead of 2) and the Chennai chilli potato and both were delicious.
Tried this new 100% veg restaurant , the food was amazing. The menu is really versatile with good choices , their karivepaku gobi , veg fried rice and rava dosa are a must to try. Will recommend this place for all veg lovers.
Thrilled to have Annapoorna in the neighborhood. The food is amazing and consistent. Not too spicy and they are providing Jain options as well and options without onion and garlic. Highly recommend the thali with one of the best variety.

We tried the breakfast combo along with filter coffee, and it was such a satisfying experience. The combo came with dosa, idli, vada, rava kesari, and chutneys—everything was freshly made, served hot, and packed with authentic flavors. The filter coffee was rich and aromatic, the perfect way to round out the meal. A wholesome South Indian breakfast that hit the spot!
I tried veg thali at Sri Annapurna is seriously impressive fresh, balanced, and full of real flavor. Every item tastes like it’s made with care, not rushed. Their weekend paneer pulao is the standout: fragrant, rich, and cooked perfectly. Service is quick, polite, and consistent, making the whole experience smooth. A solid spot for quality vegetarian food.
This place is just amazing!! My mom and I went here just to try it cuz we were hungry and we were so happy with the food. Super diet friendly not only for vegetarian but for people with allergies too. I also noticed they use almost no plastic unless absolutely necessary and I love that! We will be back!
Had a takeout of Mysore Malli Dosa and Vada Curry today. My wife is a dosa lover and she said it is one of the best dosas she ever had. Also masala, chutneys and sambar to go with the dosa were all tasty. I am a vada curry fan and I really liked the taste. Not that many restaurants have vada curry in their menu. I am glad to find a good place for it. Will definitely go back again!
We ordered a paneer butter masala (spice level:medium), kadhai veg (spice level: medium), garlic naan and cheese chilli naan. All the 4 dishes were really good. Paneer was just like in north india - not sweet at all. It was the best paneer butter masala I have had in Austin. The garlic naan was great. The service was great. We met the chef as well. They gave us complementary kesari which was hot, fresh and delicious. This restaurant deserves a second visit.
The food quality is exceptional. The critical part when you’re ordering any breakfast items such as idli, dosa or vada is the chutneys/sambar that accompany them. Usually many restaurants aren’t as impressive in this aspect but happy to report you’d not be disappointed here. Would highly recommend this place!
Our family usually goes out and tries many different Indian cuisines in Austin. We’ve been a regular goer to Annapurna restaurant, and from the very beginning, they’ve set a very high bar for the quality of food given. However, going there the past Sunday, we felt that what was served to us was truly one of most exceptional and delicious food we’ve EVER had (keep in mind that this statement is being made after going to several restaurants, even the ones in India). Food was outstanding, authentic, and freshly made. Shoutout to the cook Ella, and also the servers for that day, Shree and Krishna. They were also quite accommodating, making sure of the allergy restrictions I had. For pointers, we had the following curries: Paneer Butter Masala, Chettinadu Vegetable, and Malai Kofta alongside Butter Naans. Also want to highlight that their quality of food is consistently good. But this specific visit was the best. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Indian food, and especially for vegetarians.

Amazing Taste. Home cooking with less masala species, felt safe for my stomach and Toungue. The quantity of Thali was sufficient enough for two adults. Great packing and ontime delivery. Great value for your money and authentic taste without the fear of any non veg fried oil usages. Another thing I noticed is the fresh vegetables used in curries and not frozen..
We happened to visit this place unexpectedly twice in the last two days, once on Friday for lunch and again on Saturday for lunch. We ordered the Bisibelli Bath both times, and it was absolutely delicious on both days! We also tried the Thali, Kurma with Chapathi, and Madurai Malli Dosa. The thali was fresh and authentic in taste, though we felt it was a bit pricey for their portion size. The Madurai Malli Dosa was okay, this was our first time trying it, and while the dosa itself was good, we personally didn’t enjoy the green paste used inside. Chapathis were so fresh and soft and Kurma was good. A definite must-try is their filter coffee, it was so good! One thing to note though, it was extremely crowded on Saturday, and the food took a long time to arrive, whereas Friday’s visit was peaceful and quick. They could definitely work on speeding up service during busy weekends. Overall, good South Indian flavors and worth a visit, especially for the Bisibelli Bath and filter coffee!
We tried veg thali over the weekend. It took almost 30 mins to get the table and food due to the rush. Try to reach early to reduce the waiting time during weekends. Food was satisfactory.
Craving for a meal in Austin? Sri Annapoorna is definitely your place! Perfect portion size for a Thali. Delicious, wholesome and filling! Do try and enjoy!
Tried the combo tiffin and the weekday thali. both tasted really good. I’ll definitely be visiting this place again

The ingredients were fresh. I only liked like 1 or 2 items in the veg served with several items. The portions are too small for each item, so it probably makes sense to order ala carte.

I recently ordered a lunch thali for To Go . In the past, I’ve ordered from you multiple times, and the portion size and packaging were generous and well presented. This time, however, I was surprised to see that both the quantity and the number of items were significantly less compared to my order from last month. I’m not sure if there has been a change in service or portions, but the difference was noticeable. The quality also reduced a bit. I also noticed that basmati rice was included this time. Traditionally, it doesn’t pair as well with a South Indian thali, so this was a bit unexpected and slightly disappointing compared to previous orders. Your lunch thali has always been one of your strongest offerings, which is why this experience was disappointing. You were steadily emerging as one of the top places in Austin, and I’m concerned that a reduction in quantity—and slight dip in quality—could affect that reputation. I hope you will look into this and take the necessary steps to maintain the standards that made your food stand out. Thank you for your attention.

Visited today for dine in . Very bad experience ever… poor service. The pricing is too high for the quantity they serve. It’s half the quantity they serve comparatively to all other restaurants in and around Austin Although food taste was not that great. No feedback was asked or customers are attained after the order food is served. Overall no value for the money we paid, just a bad choice .
A month ago: This was one of the best South Indian restaurants in Austin. The meals, combos, bisibelabath, and most dishes were authentic and truly delicious. Now: Something has clearly changed, possibly new management or a new cook (and I hesitate to even call them a chef). The menu looks the same, but the quality has taken a steep dive. It feels like whoever is cooking now has little understanding of South Indian food. We were served some of the worst food we have ever tasted. The once flavorful Kesari tasted like plain porridge. The kichadi, which used to be excellent, had also turned into a bland, mushy mess. All the five-star reviews seem to reflect the quality from a month ago, not what is being served now. Until the food quality returns to its earlier standard, I would strongly suggest staying away.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I was charged for things (chutneys) I did not expect. The staff did not communicate these extra charges upfront, which felt misleading. When I asked for clarification, the explanation was vague and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated rather than valued as a customer. For a place that appears to pride itself on good service, transparency should be a basic expectation. Overall, the lack of clear descriptions and unexpected charges made the experience far from enjoyable. I hope the restaurant improves its communication and billing transparency so future customers don’t encounter the same issue. EDIT: [replying to the owner’s response] You’ve missed the point entirely. You’re needlessly trying to justify why you’re charging extra which wasn’t my complaint at all. My complaint is that you don’t notify your customers what incurs extra charges what doesn’t. I should have been informed before hand and been given the opportunity to decide. You clearly haven’t understood the issue here.
