The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. It's not as fast as some fast food places because they prepare your order after you order it, exactly as you order it. The food is exactly what you expect. It's not gourmet but it's good. It's a great place to take kids for a fun break or as a reward for good grades, helping with a home project etc.

By far the best DQ around and a top contender for my favorite fast food place. The atmosphere is cozy. People are welcoming. Service is beyond great and the food is great. You can come here to relax and eat and is definitely not the run of the mill place. It is super clean. Idk how to speak more positively on the subject but me and my family love it here. They also are military friendly and offer a 20% discount to active and retired members!

The food is always good and treats. I love this particular location is because it is ALWAYS clean and the service is OUTSTANDING!!! The crew there is totally big on service and professionalism!!! The food is what you can expect from a chain, although this DQ location specifically looks and feels clean inside. The best thing about this location is the staff, the service here is amazing from the cashier's to the managers. The people here are friendly and make a clear effort to put their customers first which is something a lot of larger chains lack. Props to the franchise owner and the people working under him.

This morning I walked in for a quiet morning to reflect, and it was quiet, clean, and the workers were courteous. Special props to Jay and Marco for serving it up quick with a smile and being personable to not only me but the other families in there too. I really respect when people care for other people. I know there are many Dairy Queens but somehow this one is special. Every time we stop in for ice cream (blizzards!) the employees are happy, or at least genuinely seem that way, and the customers are definitely happy (us!). A lot of people, hardly a spot left in the parking lot, but still doesn't feel overly crowded or hectic. Definitely worth a visit

My wife and I stop by this location once or twice a month. The staff conducts themselves so much better than other Quick-service restaurants. Many times the people taking the order ask how you are doing and introduce themselves by some. Robert Mayfield clearly cares that his locations operate well. We’ve been inside too and it is kept very clean and tidy. The folks working here and how it is run absolutely rivals Chick Fil A.

Feels like a legit old school DQ, which made the chain famous in the first place. It was clean, super friendly staff, and classic dipped cones were as good as remembered.

We love this location of DQ, it really feels like the employees enjoy working here compared to other locations we've seen across the state. And it helps the vibe whenever you eat in person or are in the drive thru. It's really easy to demotivate your staff in fast food and service jobs- so you can tell the difference. The food has always been consistent too, never have an issue with cold, soggy fries- or a subpar Blizzard. You get exactly what you expect and it's great!

It's not very often I take the time to review a dairy Queen but this is by far possibly the best and favorite of mine of all of Texas and that's saying something as I grew up with one out in West Texas panhandle area. I have come to this location for nearly a decade and I can say every time they have done everything possible to keep staff who are top-notch top-quality make you feel like family do everything possible to keep the location clean the food and top-notch and a service the best! Restrooms are always clean! (For the ladies) Lots of indoor seating and the environment makes you feel warm and welcome with TVs that show funny people doing funny things all the time as well as recognizing their staff and their favorite Blizzard flavors to get your dessert ideas going! They even spotlight but they do for the community and the history of Dairy Queen! This location also for some reason cooks with an oil that my stomach does much better with than most of the other Dairy Queens in town. Also I cannot recommend enough how the staff keep this place feeling secure welcome and in almost every since like home away from home with convenient drive thru as well and well staffed to get you in and out quick!

Jan was incredibly helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my order was correct. Best Dairy Queen employee ever! Had she not had such a great attitude toward customer service, we would not have gotten our perfect blizzards delivered and DQ wouldn't have made that sale. Amazing fresh tasting food 😋 the service at drive thru was awful!! We ordered our two meals and my boyfriend even asked if he'd gotten the second steak basket because he didn't see it up on the screen and guy rudely says yes and we get our 2 drinks , 2 blizzards, and my spicy strip basket and we were waiting for his steak basket and we get told that wasn't on the ticket! So we told the manager we'd ordered and asked if it was put on and we ended up having to wait in line long and paying for his meal. It was an awful experience definitely go in and order

A vastly underrated fast food place. I eat here maybe once a month and the the food and service are always 💯. My last visit was at 7:30pm on a Thursday. The drive thru was at least 5 cars deep and there were 3 parties of 4 or more inside amongst others. They still took my order AND served my food in about 10 minutes. This location has never let me down 👏

This review is mainly for the burger patties. The atmosphere and service are absolutely flawless here and should not be disparaged as this place is nothing short of a national treasure, but I am on a diet consisting mainly of burger patties and cheese. I've tried burger patties from all over the city now and this particular DQ is among the best. The patties are very flavorful and they're grilled so they're delicately smokey and have a nice, linear quadrillage present on the burger face. Presented in a stack of 4 on my request, with layers of melted American cheese in between really seals the deal here. The meat is juicy and tender and always fresh. The patties themselves are thick and bountiful, with a fair price point to match. Absolutely come here for dinner, or anytime really. Skip the fad burger joints around here and settle for this classic, you'll be glad you did.

Staff is always friendly. They do a great job at making sure you're happy. We have only gone here for the ice cream but I can say the place is always clean and service fast. Very family friendly. I enjoy the numerous options for treats like my favorite pineapple or cherry sundaes or the great blizzards.

This location has friendly staff and the attention to detail they have is quite good. This location seems pretty clean as well. Every once in a while, I get a kind of iffy blizzard that isn't blended well and/or is double cupped, but I attribute that to new employees learning the ropes. If they're friendly or fast, I don't mind as long as it tastes fine.

Hate to say it, but I've been here twice this weekend! Service GREAT! I did notice something on my Friday night visit that was a lil' out of the ordinary but I guess it's a sign of the times, armed security. Friendly young man. Got the 8 piece steak finger that night and then on Sunday, decided to satisfy my sweet tooth with a blizzard. Awesome!!!!

Great customer service! Very clean and ice cream was perfect. Was impressed with an electronic sign when we entered advertising that they support the military with a 20% discount. My husband is active duty Army and we didn't know until we saw the sign. We really appreciate the support. Will definitely be going back.

Best Dairy Queen ever! It’s not the closest one to us, but it’s worth the extra drive. If I were the most interesting man in the world, I’d say “I don’t often eat at Dairy Queen, but when I do, it’s the Mayfield DQ on North Burnet.”

I confirmed they were still open and I could eat inside at 11:50 PM but when they made my order wrong they told me they would re-make it but since it was now 12:03 AM I would have to leave and eat it somewhere else. Another cook came over and volunteered to remake it and was surprised at my story and offered me a refund which I agreed to, however when she walked off to do the refund without my credit card, the manager came over and wanted me to tell the story again. She offended me enough that I got up and left without the refund. That will be my last visit. I’ll file other complaints properly next week. DQ should close them. I’ve never been in a restaurant that was open and took my money before telling me I couldn’t eat there. Pterry’s in Capital Plaza is open until 3am, I was on my way there. It was the right idea. 8.8.21 The previous issue was resolved with a refund and a call from the owner. Even though I live 20 miles away I was able to visit again for the refund. I’m altering my review to 5 Stars because of ROXIE (see below). HOWEVER I was here unexpectedly yesterday 8.7.2021 and met the new GM Roxie who is AMAZING. As is her Excellent staff! I came back today since I was close and thanked her again. If I decide to eat at DQ sometime, I’ll try to come here. This OKA e is clean and friendly! Even though it’s not on my diet plan 😮.

This is one of the very best Dairy Queen stores there is. The folks who own and operate it are top notch and it shows in every aspect of food quality, store cleanliness, customer service, cheerful attitudes and repeat customers. When I want something from DQ I'll drive a little further to visit this location rather than go to the one closer to my house for those very reasons. I've never had anything except a wonderful experience here.

I'm a server in the restaurant industry, and here is my great experience I had ordered a steak finger basket, yet was wrung up chicken strips instead. No big deal, just asked if I could get the steak basket. Ofc they switch it, but when it is brung back to me with 4 instead of the 6 I ordered for my partner and I. I knew I had to go back up and ask the 6 I had paid for, but felt slightly bad. Jay, I'm assuming is a manager, gave me 4 opposed to the 2 extra I was supposed to receive and they were fresh! I appreciate the customer service here as I am not one to speak out on my order. Atmosphere is nice and clean environment also!

For a drive thru and fast food restaurant I was very impressed. We went on free cone day expecting it to be a madhouse- instead it was organized and we had two cones in under 5 minutes (with there being a long line). The service was friendly and quick.

This was my first time at this location. My original intent was to get a free cone (March 20th), but ended up ordering the 4 PC chicken tender meal. It was actually very good. The place was clean and eventually got very busy.

We live far away in a place with no Dairy Queens. I wanted my kid to have a DQ experience, but she has strict dietary restrictions, so I was a little apprehensive when we pulled up to the drive thru one day last week. The super helpful lady who took our order put us at ease straight away. The ice cream was excellent and beautifully presented. I drove from one DQ to another and this Mayfield DQ was actually doing the promo on the hunger buster so I got one and a mint cotton candy blizzard. DQ never disappoints with the blizzard, I will say I enjoyed the burger it was juicy and filling. For a quick Texas treat and to beat the heat come stop by and get a bite!

Excellent ice cream. They even have free ice cream for dogs with a small milk bone. Super nice employees, the wait was maybe 5 minutes but the drive Thru had some traffic and there were also a few walk-in orders before me. Also they do not charge for a cup to put water in for you or your pup. I normally stop in Brenham, Texas wile graveling here. They charge me fir a small cone and put it in a sundae dish. I was really impressed with the DQ on Burnett. Wiener schnitzel in Austin, or most so I’m told give a “free dog for dogs” campaign here in Austin that is not offered elsewhere. It’s wonderful that Austin is so dog friendly. I will return to DQ at Burnett. Pics attached. Chouchou and I always sit on the tailgate of my truck at DQ and we enjoy our ice cream.

This is one of the nicest, cleanest DQ stores I've been to. The food is always fresh and the service is great. It can get really busy in the summer evenings, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for your favorite ice cream treat. I love getting their dipped cones. They remind me of my childhood!

Food was well prepared,but they forgot two of my ice creams,and I was all the way home before I noticed. I think it was due to them being busy,nothing to keep me away from there! They always very nice and smiling,which is very refreshing!

I've been patronizing this location for years and have found a consistent level of good customer service. My ice cream is always perfect--and I don't have a favorite, so I'm always trying something different, so I've been able to really test this! The times I've popped in for lunch I've had a wait, but nothing longer than I would expect anywhere else where food is made fresh. As some reviews have noted about employee attitudes, I've seen none. However, most of the time the employees are simply focused on work, not customer relationships. So when I encounter one who does, it's always a joyful surprise! That said, to me, that's a bonus, not a requirement. I'm definitely still patronizing this location.

My dad and I enjoy the new tacos. We come here for the variety menu burgers, tacos, steak fingers, chicken fingers. It makes it easy for families like ours sometimes someone alwalys wants something different then eveyone else. Also so many ice cream desserts to choose from.

Sometime in the last couple of years Dairy Queen has drastically improved their quality of their food. This is no the same restaurant you went to 10 years ago to get ice cream after you had eaten at another place. Now you can actually eat here and enjoy the ice cream and it's all good. Way to pull out of a nose dive DQ.

Is Dairy Queen a small but reasonably nice inside. There’s an outdoor seating area as well. Besides for all the obvious things like ice cream and shakes, they have a few meals and the tacos are pretty good. I don’t usually go to Dairy Queen’s except for on long road trips, ha But every so often, it’s not bad. Plus, they are open late, have a drive-through, and you can order online.

First time trying DQ :) super friendly staff and quick service. Got the steak fingers and thought that tasted like mystery meat, or more like meat patties cut in half and fried. Ice cream cone is pretty good! Got the chocolate dipped vanilla cone and it wasn’t too sweet with is good! The velvet blizzard is skippable. Cheese curds are good (cut up bite size fried mozzarella pieces). Kids meal is a good deal! with a drink and fries. Unlimited drink refill too which is nice.

First off let me start by saying I have been going to this Dairy Queen ever since I moved to Austin TX. I have always had great experiences! I rarely go inside so I’ve come to know the kids that work the drive through window. I’ve recently started to see a major decline all around. I didn’t complain the last two times and even insisted they didn’t fix my order but let me go due to people being in line behind me. 3 times in a row now they’ve messed up my order. It’s SO simple. I guess that’s why I didn’t complain the first two times. The first time doesn’t count. Things happen. The second order mess up was due to some awful over cooked chicken strips in which I was shorted one strip and the fries were moosh. I specifically ask for fresh, crunchy fries. I don’t mind waiting. They weren’t even warm. Super strange. That has never happened at this location. Sometimes I just order a large fry because I like theirs so much. Now, The past two times I’ve visited my main reason for going is that I ALWAYS get a large cone “without the cone” dipped with the hard shelled butterscotch. *That’s why I drive all the way across Austin to this location. The other DQs have done away with butterscotch all together. Not sure why as it’s a tradition in my family. But I have recently fallen ill and been hospitalized twice. Turns out this is due to a severe gluten reaction. I’m still battling it and am told I will always battle with it. THIS IS WHY I ASK THEM TO SKIP THE CONE AND PUT MY ICE CREAM AND BUTTERSCOTCH IN A CUP! Bottom line is that I say REPEATEDLY when giving my order NO CONE! Instead I’m handed a cup with the cone in it. Not to mention there is next to NO butterscotch on the cone. I’ve repeatedly asked them to put enough to cover the ice cream so it doesn’t drip down the side. Does that make any sense? Because all of those pretty posters on and inside that building are of the owner eating a PERFECT hard candy shell the exact way I order it. Now the smalls got to be so tiny over the years I’ve started ordering larges. Well now they just give me a Small in a large cup. Come on? Seriously. Now onto my experience tonight. One of the ladies recognized me as I usually come to this DQ 2-3 times a week. No exaggeration. I love DQ and there food doesn’t make me ill. But tonight I denied my order as it was wrong, again. But before the drive through window closed I hear what was said. How dare you. I have not complained or had you RE DO my order ever. Never until tonight. I want the old crew back and I just want what I pay for to be correct. Is that too much to ask for from such a long time loyal customer? I’d never treat anyone that way. Also, A good Mgr would have never made the customer feel as though it was a burden to RE DO an order that was wrong. Especially since she’s the one that recognized me. Not cool. I’m not happy. Please see picture attached below. It’s a small in a large cup with hardly any butterscotch.

The food here has gotten way to expensive...$25 for a meal deal and shake is just too much. And you can't turn around once you're inine your stuck there. And, they got the order wrong. They put the wrong stuff and no way I was going back in line. So sad, used to love this place

It's fast food, can't expect too much. Servers were nice and we just come for dessert or a quick burger. If you get dessert with your food, they will offer to make your dessert later, after you've eaten. Burgers are not that good.

Had a very disappointing experience tonight at my local DQ. 1st of all ordered 4 tacos and two small frys for a whopping $18. The taco price has gone up 30% just recently. The taco had 7 or 8 strands of cheese on each taco. Taco bell levels of quality here. I ordered a sour cream which was not in the box but I was charged for it. I told the rude short younger Hispanic girl I did not receive it and she said it's in there. She went as far to go get another employee because she didn't believe to tell me it was in the box. So she basically tried to team up on a customer. I said no its not and she just continued to argue with me over a condiment packet. I had to pull out my tacos and show her the empty box and bag to satisfy her. As she put her fingers in my tacos. The frys were half full and soggy as well. She then refused to reach out and hand me my change. I have a disability and can not raise my arm very high. She refused to stretch to meet me. Not the 1st this employee has refused to stretch her arms out. This worker really gave my usual happy experience at the Mayfield dq a bad taste. Please speak with this young lady about customer service. I hope my next visit turns out better.

The last straw? 💔 My Texas T-brand Tacos. 🌮 Talk about insulting! 🤬 (🎥 📸) If you have to raise prices to stay in business, that's fine, we understand. 🤷‍♀️ But grab your 🏀🏀's and tell us straight up, instead of being deceitful and lying. 🤥 Smaller Containers + Smaller Portions + Higher Prices = Did you think we wouldn't notice?! 👀 Perhaps we should all go across the street to P-Terry's. ➡️ When they raised prices, their CEO apologized 🙏 with a personal note 📝 explaining why. Transparent, honest, and accountable. Bravo! 💯 What would you rather see in your bag, a note from the owner or another shrunken container? 🤔

The gravy on the steak finger basket was like water it was awful. I would not recommend anyone get it unless you say no gravy. I got 8 steak fingers had to use catsup.

Don’t get the tacos they put the tacos standing up so all the grease leaks everywhere. I spoke to the manager Jesse and he said they always stand the tacos up and this is the first time anybody has ever complained about the grease leaking everywhere. Will not be going to Dairy Queen anymore I’ll spend my hard earned money at restaurants that actually appreciate the customers feedback and not act as if the customer is in the wrong.

I went here and ordered the Chicken and dumplings in hopes that I would be getting value for my money... Boy was I wrong I got a serving of chicken and dumplings broth ,with literally no chicken and 1 dumpling, the rest was just broth. I tried calling and no answered the phone. This was a total waste of time and money. I guess if you order this dish, you will need to check it before you leave e.

Ordered food thru drive thru with GREAT DIFFICULTY. I had to repeat myself 3 times, and when I got to the window, they were still unclear of what I wanted. And, I asked for onion rings, but was told that this location does NOT have onion rings. I can always get them at the 620 location.

Food is low quality and tastes like it was make for dogs to eat

The app has 3 off of a 6 PC basket combo. The worker was trying to charge full price. That is incorrect. I left & I come here all of the time. I'm done with dairy Queen. Worst service I've ever gotten

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no onions…. I guess no onions also means no patty.

When you are dealing with customers, please listen to what they order... when the customer asks for extra strawberry and adds a banana and says about having the strawberry added to the middle, don't just say oh it didn't fit.... you did whatever you wanted and didn't add the strawberry to the middle. Then as well when a customer blaintly says, "Can I get two 4 piece chicken strips twice dont just ring it up as one and have some customer service skills....oh, I only charged you for one... no crap you only listened to what you wanted to listen to... then on top of that, when you aren't thinking the customer is watching don't show the rushing move out of the drive through hand gesture... purely unprofessional.

Not a happy customer. Went thru drivethru yesterday, as I almost do every day to get a medium blizzard. Got home and noticed I was billed 16. Dollars for what is usually around 6. Spoke w Nelly/mngr...she was very rude and kept calling me a lady over and over and I corrected her several times. I just got off the phone w her again, and she said I was rude and that I should have checked my receipt. Won't be back. Hope yall have better luck.God bless. Well, its been several weeks and still waiting on credit. I saw not only 16.00 for a medium blizzard but was billed an additional 6 plus dollars on my credit card the next day as well...why they are billing for blizzards to my credit card when I haven't been back since the original overbilling makes no sense. The owner Robert Mayfield has been of no help...he has no interest in just crediting me off...I've called, left messages w all the details and he just wants to waste my time, not answer and eventually call back and tell me to leave another message??!? That's ridiculous and not a trustworthy business. I'm done wasting my time with them. God bless them.

Worst experience ever. The manager basically called me a liar because a sales associate had advised me if I’ll fill out a survey I would get a free medium blizzard so I was like hell yeah I’ll fill it out. I also had 4 dilly bar coupons we never used from kids meals I cashed in. He said that I was costing him money. Um? You do know you only work there right? It is DQ’s money not yours. They need to train him on some manners along with the young lady assisting him. Everyone else at that places is amazing I just feel bad if they have him as an manager. By the time he was done arguing with me my ice cream was melted so I ended up throwing it away. I know DQ still has good people but those two new major training. They lack vision, customer service etiquette etc. If a customer says they were told they would get a med blizzard on a survey and it is wrong. You give them the medium blizzard whilst educating them that the info they were given was inaccurate and then train the associate that gave the wrong info. Some people shouldn’t be managers or assistant managers They need more training.

On 11/1/2022 6:52:58 PM I went to the Dairy Queen Grill and chill on 8300 N. Burnet Rd., Austin, TX 78757. (DQ is one of my go places) I ordered one hunger Buster with cheese no onions, regular fry ($8.96). Continue around to the window to pay. I saw the food preparer not using proper utensil to eliminate bare hand contact with food. The food preparer making my burger pick the meat out the warmer drawer with his bare fingers (no gloves)and place it on the bun also he did the same with the cheese. The preparer wrapped up the burger and proceeded to place the burger in the brown paper bag. I asked the window attendant what was the protocol for the food preparers in order to prepare food he did not answer. I asked to speak to the shift lead and told her the situation, she then went to the back and spoke with food preparers. On her back to speak with the food preparers I saw another preparer with their bare hands on the food prep table. I was told to park in #1 area why burger was being remade. When the shift lead came out with redone order she told me that she had found out who was responsible and a write up would be done. She also said she would notify her boss. Let me say again I saw at least two of the people in the food prep table area with (no gloves). The shift lead was very kind and polite. I was told she watch while my order was remade. (Thanks) By this time my appetite had changed because of what I had observed. The shift leads should continuously monitor their food prep area, and any areas food is handle.

DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. Terrible service. Restaurant is dirty and employees are not interested in doing their jobs. They changed our order just because and did not tell us until we checked the bag. They REFUSED to make it right. They were extremely rude. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

Got all the way back to my class to find out they didn’t put the dressing in the bag with the salad. Wasted my lunch break and highly disappointed. Location is in an inconvenient spot if you’re going from across the street.

Make sure you read the lower rating reviews because generally they can tell you the most truthful comments of the chain. I attached a photo of my receipt and also photos of the blizzard I ordered. 1) I ordered a chocolate brownie extreme and a Snickers with extra brownie pieces. I was given 2 large Snickers. How disappointing. 2) The Snickers I ordered with extra brownies actually had no brownies. Pretty unfortunate to have been charged for the extra brownies only to have none added. 3) I waited about 20 minutes because apparently one of the incompetent workers gave my blizzard accidentally to another order. I would usually forgive this but this I couldn't because it wasnt even that busy inside. Even worse, I went inside again to address the wrong orders given only to wait several more minutes because I was confused on which blizzards were given to me and they did not even honor the flip. I've never experienced this kind of service from a fast food chain before when eating at Burger King, McDonald's, cfa, or Wendy's. It's how unfortunate I had to actually see firsthand what bad reviews for fast food can be. Definitely not coming to this chain again.
