Excellent cocktails and appetizers. The happy hour pricing and portions are excellent. Service (Chris the bartender) was attentive and friendly. I prefered the appetizers (deviled eggs and pimento cheese) to the entree (chicken sandwich and fries which were a miss). The Bloody Mary and bourbon cocktail were both fabulous.

Delicious from the start! Dark ambience. Enjoyed the crispy potato beignets as an appetizer - wonderful! The biscuits (3 to an order) are fresh made to order. Biscuits came out hot and flaky with great nooks and crannies as the butter melted within. Lobster & Crawfish PotPie is rich and decadent - full of seafood! Beware, the "recommended" hot sause is an extra charge - we were not told that. Great experience, however!

Service was a little slow but very nice, got the fried chicken biscuit, so good. The cinnamon roll got me though, never had one like this before; it had different textures flaky and crispy on the edges and warm and soft towards the middle, and not too sweet.

Excellent options all around for an excellent price. The biscuits were to die for and the crispy brussel sprouts were savory and delicious! But their Honey Badger take on an Old Fashioned was the highlight! Highly recommend!

Absolute perfection. The food was phenomenal. Their famous biscuits were the perfect balance of buttery crisp outside with a cloud like interior. The potato beignets had just the right crunch, with a beautifully matched sauce. And the lobster and crawfish pie was absolutely filled with meat - it lived up to its name. Even the banana cocktail was ridiculous - perfect tart and sweet balance. The server could not have been sweeter or more professional. And even the decor made the place feel comfortable but interesting (remember to look up after you take your seat).

I brought my Dad for his birthday dinner and we loved it! The halibut was seared and soft - just right! The special was a NY strip and had amazing oyster mushrooms- drool. We loved the biscuits, Brussels sprouts, and the potato beignets (think fried mashed potato balls), but could have skipped the crab dip.

🍴 “Great Vibes, Amazing Biscuits, but a Few Misses” Went to Fixe Southern House in downtown Austin for a family gathering on a Friday night. If you’re looking for authentic southern food in Austin, this place has a lively atmosphere, though it’s very loud and a bit dark inside, with limited downtown parking. The buttermilk biscuits are a must-try—hot, fresh, and some of the best biscuits in Austin! We also tried the fried okra, trout dip, and spicy cauliflower; the trout dip was delicious, but the okra was tough and the rice cakes hard. My fried chicken was oily and tasted reheated, but the heritage pork chop and shrimp & grits were outstanding. Service was excellent, making this a solid spot for southern comfort food despite a few misses.

The service was phenomenal 👏! We ordered the biscuits as appetizers, which warmed our hearts. The fried chicken was moist and seasoned well. The kale salad that came with it was too salty (that's my only negative review). The portion size was spot on. I would definitely return for lunch or dinner.

We were a group of 4 and went for Sunday brunch. The place had only 2 other tables and was not packed. We were sat promptly and had a nice time catching up with friends over biscuit sandwiches, deviled eggs, and mimosas. The food we had was ok. Nothing to rave about. The service was good and the ambiance was nice and quiet.

The biscuits are on the secret menu and were piping hot, buttery and delicious! The deviled eggs were also rich and yummy. I would come back here to try some other food as well.

This is a very nice restaurant with an elegant atmosphere. The décor is thoughtfully designed, making it a great spot for a special night out. The menu is on the smaller side, but I have to say—they served the best biscuits I’ve ever had in my life. Absolutely unforgettable. That said, most of the dishes lean toward indulgent comfort food—fried or high in fat. If that’s what you’re in the mood for, then you’ll be in heaven. Just don’t expect many healthy or lighter options. We came with a large group of 10 people, and every single person at the table raved about their meal. The food was undeniably delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Mid is generous. I went as part of a large group. We had a limited menu. The server was very friendly and helpful. Always attentive to dietary restrictions at our tables but a little too pushy about drinks. He had good banter with our table. No mistakes were made and it was a complicated set of orders. The food I had was fine for what it is but not special for Southern food. The entree portion sizes were very geneous. Salmon was well done (not medium as claimed). The grits and brussel sprouts just came in a big bowl for the table. The grits were not good. Like thick paste and lacked seasoning. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked in the fryer. The people who got pork chops at my table were all happy with their choice. Hopefully you like bread if you go here... Everything seems to have a biscuit or breadstick or crumbled biscuit "croutons" which I didn't try but our table left only partially eaten so I presume was just okay. It's honestly pretty easy to get a good biscuit in the South so I don't understand the raves in other reviews. The atmosphere is nice standard upscale restaurant with a semi-open expediter station central to the restaurant that was kind of pretty. It was extremely loud when I was there but there were two large groups. I'm not sure if it's always like that. It was hard to figure out the bathrooms because they just have small pictures of country music singers on them. I think Dolly Parton is the ladies room and Kenny Rogers is the men's room. I would love a stronger hint.
