Jacoby's is a popular spot known for its delicious food, great service, and inviting atmosphere, especially the outdoor patio. The chicken fried steak and waffles, strawberry cake, and Mac & Cheese are highly recommended. Some found the steaks underwhelming.

Absolutely amazing HH deals! Their burger and fries are one of my favorites in town. Come hungry! The food is just delicious, and you can tell it's handled and made with care. The Jalapina Business cocktail is my favorite - not too spicy, not too sweet! I've also been for brunch. Great options for savory and sweet. Never had a bad experience. I've always left happy. 🙌
Making the reservation was so easy and I’m glad I did! Very nice atmosphere and attentive staff. The beet salad is such a unique combination of flavors with the smoked yogurt. Overall delicious food and great dining experience outside on the patio. Great place to bring your guests from out of town for that Southern hospitality experience.

We recently had a bridal shower at Jacoby’s. It turned out beautiful and perfect. We received so many compliments from guests. Charissa was so easy to work with and so accommodating. Day of, her team was excellent. The food was terrific as were the drinks. Highly recommend using Jacoby’s for a a group event! Can’t wait to host another one here!
I made a large party reservation here for dinner with friends. I had been here once years ago for brunch and was happy with that experience so decided to book here for dinner. The dinner menu was delicious. I especially loved their brussel sprouts. Thanks to Charissa for assisting with the reservation and to our waiter, forget his name, but the service was excellent.
Jacoby's is a lovely restaurant with views overlooking the river. It is a great gathering spot for companies or friends wishing to relax and unwind. The service was spot on, even agreeing to make a drink they had never heard of and nailed it. I was part of a corporate gathering, so I did not have a choice with the food selection, but almost everything was delicious (no one loves everything! LOL) Highly recommend, and I will be returning to try out the rest of the menu.
Anyone complaining about the food here probably is used to all the additives and enhancements that makes up modern cuisine.... I've been to both the Feed store/cafe in Melvin, TX and recently ate at this spot as well. Pricy? sure... Delicious? Absolutely and it was worth every penny. One of the few farm-to-table places I'd love to eat at again.
I really enjoyed Jacoby’s! It’s been on my list to try, and I finally went for brunch. Menu is not very large but there are enough options to choose from. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and they really boast about their farm-to-table beef that comes from a farm they own about 3 hours away. I honestly can’t blame them because the beef IS good, as well as all the other food. I did find it interesting that they didn’t have any chicken items on their brunch menu - a couple of chicken fried items, but no actual chicken. The drink options looked good, but I did not have one so I cannot review. I would definitely come back for brunch and will have to plan to try their dinner as well.
The outdoor space here is beautiful with a lovely view of the river so definitely try to stop by during daylight hours! Mixed drinks are on point and so is the food - highly recommend the steaks, Texas caviar, mac & cheese, and the chicken breast. Desserts are excellent and generously portioned so save room or plan to share.
Jacoby’s is delicious. I had the chicken migas which was so tasty. The chicken was deliciously smoked. The French toast was awesome and made of something similar to pound cake. And the tater tots are almost like mini mozzarella sticks, yum! The grits were tasty too! You really can’t go wrong here. Check out the shop out front too - all of the milk glass kitchenware is adorable.
We held a bridal brunch here and it was an amazing private dining experience. The events coordinator was so great to work and extremely helpful. Our server throughout the event truly went above and beyond. The food was delicious and we were all just so pleased with everything. The cupcakes at the end were particularly a hit. This venue is so charming and fun. I'm so glad we came here; many of us came in from out of state for this celebration and our time in Jacoby's was truly worthwhile!
The food is AMAZING & SO FLAVORFUL!! I highly recommend. The biscuits and gravy were perfect. The portions are big so think about sharing. The tots are the absolute BEST!! They are a must try! My husband and I loved our turkey sandwich, chicken fried steak and waffles. Javony our waiter was the BEST! He was very welcoming, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and kind. His customer service is top tier. Thanks Javony for your recommendations and honesty. Javony is one of the best servers! Only thing that wasn't great it was 6$ just to park the truck on their lot.
We had a fantastic time celebrating my husband's MBA graduation dinner at Jacoby's recently. Rachel C. was our waitress and she was phenomenal. The atmosphere outside was lovely -- although there really isn't a river view from where you eat, you have to go to the lookout area - but that was fine. You do have to valet park your vehicle, it was $6 but again, I didn't have a problem with that as most restaurants along this area of town require valet. The food was delicious, most especially the macaroni & cheese, the southwestern salad, chicken fried steak, and deviled eggs. I look forward to eating here again and trying the strawberry cake the next go around -- it looked AMAZING. Oh, they also have a fun gift shop in the front of the restaurant with jewelry, candles, etc. -- its a really cool place, definitely recommend.
We've been to Jacoby's a couple of times and really enjoyed it. We stopped in the other day for some drinks and the margaritas were amazing! Chris the bartender was great. Friendly, helpful and he mixed up some amazing drinks. The Marfa Margarita was my favorite followed by the Spicy Texan and then Jalapino Biz. #delicious
Great food and service! Just keep an eye on extra percents tacked onto your bill. The menu states in the fine print that an extra few percent for health insurance or something that should just be included in the business operating costs. It shouldn't be a separate charge. If I was charged that I'd be providing less tip. There wasn't any extra charged on my bill so all was good.
Overall pleasant dining experience! Went with 3 ladies for celebration dinner at 5. They were a little slow to have someone attend our table but once we got started, enjoyed some unique cocktails, $5 appetizers and main course. I got the sea scallop special, which was a smaller sizes entree for those who have a larger stomach. My friends got the chicken which is half a chicken and the other a 6oz sirloin steak. Beautiful plate presentations. My favorite part? The roasted brussel sprouts and the view along the river. A little pricey for the portion sizes received but overall nice experience.
Incredible food awesome atmosphere and great service from start to finish. Went in for brunch and immediately got greeted with friendly and inviting faces. We ordered some mimosas at the bar , the champagne gets poured into some unique pitchers all of them picture worthy. Ordered the smoked ribeye Benedict & it was probably the best brunch plate I’ve had in a while, the eggs and the ribeye were cooked to perfection! The place is pricey but when it’s met with great service and food, price is never a problem. Keep up the great work Jacobys.
Awesome food, service, and ambiance! This a great spot for a date night. My only critique is some of the portion sizes can be a bit small. This last time, I had shrimp and grits and still left a bit hungry after splitting a few appetizers. The food was great. It was probably my fault for not ordering enough. I just figure grits are cheap and filling.. load em up.
We were able to slip in on a Thursday night without a reservation but they usually require one due to demand and I can see why. We outside and found it quite comfortable due to the breeze and fans they had out. Our server was great and was there throughout our dinner although never intrusive. We both had the chicken fried chicken with gravy and it was delicious. Two large cutlets, seasoned and fried to perfection with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli all covered in a great white gravy. To top it all off we shared there house specialty strawberry cake which was also great. Good setting, great food. Only 2 things I would mention is valet parking only and although they are on the water it is a very limited view at least during the summer.
Loved the interior decor and the backyard open area was nicely decorated and had fans to keep the temp low - the Knick knacks for purchase at the front was a nice touch Our waitress was new on the job and did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed Ordered: stuffed yeast rolls 10/10 Chicken fried steak 8/10 (actual steak needed more seasoning, gravy was amazing) Mac n cheese 10/10 (the combo of cheeses was so creamy and delicious) Jacoby’s Burger 7/10 (patty didn’t have much flavor) Valet is $6 no big issue there the attendant was super sweet
Let me start by saying Jacoby's is a place you take someone special, family/ friends from out of town, or your significant other on a really great date because the experience here is high-quality! Reservations are a MUST. Their parking lot is small, but they offer complimentary valet parking which is a nice perk! We brought my Dad to dinner here while he was in town for work, and the food was so incredible, he has not stopped talking about it. We sat on their outdoor patio, which we preferred as it was a warmer day and the inside seating is a little tight. We started off with the Texas Caviar as our appetizer, which was a yummy corn dip with tortilla chips. I also ordered the Frose (it had Elderflower - my favorite!), while my Dad and Husband ordered beers. We decided it would be fun to order a few plates for the table to share so we ordered 2 veggie burgers with fries, the crispy Brussel sprouts that were literally to die for, and the Manchego tater tots - cheese and potatoes what more could you want?! After devouring it all, we decided we just HAD to try their famous strawberry cake.. and it was the best, most moist cake we've ever tried. We all left feeling full and extremely happy, and to this day I am still trying to recreate that Brussel sprout recipe!!
At the end of East Cesar Chavez, find one of the best happy hours or dinner destinations. Yes, a destination if you seat outside because you have a beautiful view of the river. Inside, the dimmed lights and the cabin ambiance are elegant and relaxed. From starters to dessert, a feast! Delicious cocktails and prices worth finding a celebration or occasion every week. Burger special was spectacular. The old fashioned, 10 out of 10. Parking is tight but they have valet and a free street area too. A repeat, a regular, a new fan of Jacoby's.
The servers were great, the drinks were pretty slow to come out for some of party but otherwise loved the place.
The best biscuit from biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. The perfect blend of buttery, flakey, layered, and salty. They definitely are a little stingy on the gravy which is also magnificent but 10/10 recommend their weekend brunch. The chicken fried steak is also a must try. All around southern comfort food, so lots of carbs lots of butter need I say more?!
I couldve sworn I had already left a review and was just gonna update. Had a business dinner tonight and it was a hit! I had no doubt it would be because Jacoby’s is the best. I love this place y’all. I’ve celebrated birthdays here. We’ve had a company holiday party here. It’s my favorite spot to bring folks to. The food is always wonderful (I always immediately dig in and forget to snap a pic). Chicken Fried Steak is my go to. The whole staff goes above and beyond.
I drove down from Killeen and my daughter and her boyfriend drove up from San Antonio and we met here!!! What a great place! I had steak and eggs and a Bloody Mary . All their beef is raised on the Jacoby's farm and oh my goodness was it good!!! We had Pecan Pie and Strawberry Cake for dessert!! And the prices are very fair!!! What can I say, good food, good service, good music and good company!!!!
Such an amazing restaurant and atmosphere. Kyle our server, was super sweet and welcoming. The food was delicious but I will say the dairy free cheesecake was underwhelming. But being dairy free cheesecake that's to be expected. I did hear that the strawberry cake was quite a delicacy to be had. Will come again.
Upscale farm to table restaurant with great offerings. The ambiance and decor is very old country store style. There's a nice view of the river with fans and heaters under the porch. Went for brunch and was not disappointed. Can't go wrong with just about any menu item and definitely should try the dude brew
This review is strictly in regards to their brunch experience because, come to think of it, I've never been there for dinner. I'll have to remedy that soon. Jacoby's is SO GOOD. But at it's price point it's more of a let's enjoy this once-a-month kind of good. Also, it's BUSY. Like, real busy. Like, make a reservation kind of busy. But all that being said, the food and the atmosphere is incredible. Beautiful patio. Pro tip: if you want to maximize the value, treat this place almost like a tapas style restaurant because the portions here are GENEROUS. Easily enough to share. Highlights include the deviled eggs with bacon and pickled vegetables and the biscuits and gravy but the REAL sleeper item here is the strawberry cake. Holy moly it might be the best cake I've ever had. Also random highlight that I've never noticed anywhere else -- the silverware, plates and cups are all amazing. Like you're camping in a fancy cabin.
Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile is a great restaurant in East Austin. Parking is a little bit of a challenge but it is worth it. And make reservations because it is pretty full. Make sure to check their hours too; I believe they are closed Monday and Tuesday. When you make reservations, in the comment section, request to eat outside. You’ll thank me! Now on to the good stuff- the food! Jacoby’s meat comes from their own ranch near Lubbock so you know you’re getting great quality, grass-fed cattle. I went with the steak frites, which I kind of had to eat. So good! The fries were crispy and the steak was cooked to perfection. There is an aioli dipping sauce that was good as well. My friend got the chicken fried steak which was the best he’s had. You need to try the bone marrow appetizer and save room for dessert! I’m a huge fan of Jacoby’s and their sister restaurant Swift Pizza. Make those reservations!
We went here for brunch and we were very impressed! The deviled eggs were amazing, they have a great vinegar flavor that isn't too overpowering. The Mac n cheese is what dreams are made of. It took self control to not just eat the entire cast iron skillet and then lick it clean. I highly recommend it!
Great Texas flair! From the minute you walk in you’re greeted by the superb service that awaits your indulgence. We celebrated my sister’s bday with a brunch started with the warm, fluffy, and delicious biscuits and gravy shared by all 8 of us, along with the perfect scone and cinnamon roll. Portions are perfect for sharing. Chicken fried steak and waffles, Amazing! The steak hash was given 👍🏼if you like bbq sauce. Mimosas were served in cute mason jars and the large pitcher is more than enough for a group of 8. The cute store is full of great vintage things!
Loved this rustic styled place with amazing food, quality ingredients (especially the beef) and a very cool atmosphere. Their back patio is just gorgeous. Highly recommend! Don't sleep on thr chicken fried steaks or deviled eggs
We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed it. The meatloaf is excellent and the strawberry cake is to die for. Great service and a super patio if weather permits.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jacoby’s in Austin is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting — rustic, laid-back, and perfectly Austin. The food was outstanding — every bite packed with fresh, farm-to-table flavor. I especially loved how the staff made us feel right at home, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. What truly makes Jacoby’s stand out, though, is how pet-friendly they are. The patio is spacious, shaded, and welcoming for furry friends — our dogs were treated like family with water bowls and lots of attention from the staff. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and such a relaxed, pet-friendly vibe. Highly recommend Jacoby’s for anyone looking to enjoy amazing food, great service, and a place where your four-legged friends can join in on the fun. Can’t wait to go back! 🐾🍽️
Sat on the patio for a 1pm brunch. Their brunch menu is amazing! Had the Deviled eggs (10/10), biscuits and gravy (8/10), chorizo migas (100/10 must try), side cheddar grits (9/10), & took home a strawberry cake. The strawberry cake is insanely good and it makes me want to request a whole cake for maybe a birthday or something in the future. Portions are huge and 3 of us were stuffed from those all of those as we did more of a family style sharing. Overall place is great and I highly recommend the patio seating.
Went in for their Thursday steak and frites special and did not disappoint!! Really good, tender steak cooker to a perfect medium. Cosmopolitan cocktail was great too. Update: we also tried their burger and it’s delicious!! Will be adding Jacobys to one of my staple restaurants in Austin :)
Great food, beautiful view. Dog friendly! The portions are pretty big so think about sharing. The decor and ambience are so relaxing and tons of fans under the shaded area to keep you cool. The large mimosa pitcher is definitely meant for 3-4 people as it was a lot for 2 people to drink. Highly recommend if you’re in East Austin! Make a reservation and parking lot is only valet for $6
This place is really nice looking! We went for Sunday Brunch and the food was delicious. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, the club sandwich, and the strawberry cake. They even came by an asked us if we wanted an extra cinnamon roll that they had! Our waitress was so nice. We sat inside and luckily we made the right choice as it was pouring but the outside looked pretty covered. Will definitely be back!
Heck of a good dinner and place to eat. It was a group of 3 and we ate at the bar which was comfortable and a good place to sit. Service was really good with a friendly bartender that took car of us. We all enjoyed our dinner with the Mac & Cheese stealing the show. The parking lot can be a little tricky and I would suggest reservations.
Everything was wonderful! Portions were more than enough! Oh my goodness, if you like meatloaf you must try the BBQ Meatloaf! And the Parmesan Gnocchi is delectable too. The stuffed yeast rolls are tasty but filling so you only need one. My family members really, really, really enjoyed their Chicken Fried Chicken and Chicken Fried Steak. One of us had steak and based on his plate I am pretty sure he enjoyed it immensely since there was nothing left on his plate. And speaking of plates, I loved the plates that the food was served on because they reminded me of the dinnerware that we would eat on at my Grandmother's house. The appetizer plates which were blue and white tins kind a gives a camping vibe. Loved the mason jars for water. We made reservations since there were 6 of us and we were seated in a nice area on the patio. If you happen to be fortunate to have Claire as your server you will be well taken care of. Oh one more thing, save room for dessert the strawberry cake is worth it.
Loved our early Mother’s Day brunch at Jacoby’s. The beautifully decorated outdoor patio with views of the river made for a lovely and inviting atmosphere. The housemade baked items were standouts on the menu. Our favorites were the scones and cinnamon roll. You must try them. We also really enjoyed the Mac n cheese and Bloody Mary (seasoned and garnished perfectly). Service was so friendly and attentive. I would love to come back for dinner. A lovely spot in Austin for brunch. Well done, Jacoby’s.
Reserved a table for a birthday get together. Staff was awesome even received a birthday card, thought that was pretty cool. Drinks were good and not too weak. Food was very good. Loved the grits. We also had the chicken fried steak and waffles. You better make sure that you are hungry it was huge !!! And soooo good !!!!! The place has inside and outside seating. The inside seating is a little dark but cozy.
Had an excellent brunch! The scone and cornbread and deviled eggs were a great way to start, and the beef hash was delicious. The chicken friend steak and waffles was HUGE and very tasty, too. Service was great and the outdoor patio was comfortable despite the blazing heat.
ABSOLUTELY delicious. Holy cow I’m so impressed. The tater tots were a last minute decision but I’m honestly most impressed by those! They were soft and fluffy. Best potato I’ve ever eaten. I’m vegan and got the off menu vegan option, also amazing. My fiancé got the chicken fried steak with waffles which he said was also on point!! The drinks were also phenomenal. I’m extremely impressed with ever aspect of this place. Will be back for more!
Came in for Father’s Day with a reservation and was one of the first tables to be sat. Server was extremely friendly. We had the scones for an appetizer which came with butter and jam. My wife got the Benedict, my son got the turkey club which were both great. I ordered the hash with over easy eggs. I received the hash with poached eggs and the hash was warm at best. I’m not the guy to send something back so I just sucked it up and ate it. With it being Father’s Day I didn’t want my family eating while I waited for a replacement. I would go again just maybe on a less busy day.
Great ambience, ok food for the price, worth another visit. This restaurant had been on my radar for a bit and I finally tried out the main staples: deviled eggs appetizer, chicken fried steak, mac& cheese and the strawberry cake. PROS:The AMBIENCE! A little heavy on the antler decorations for my taste but overall hit their, "farm to table" vibe. Food wise, the star of the dinner was actually the waiter recommended brussel sprouts which were extremely flavorful and hit that perfect note between sweet and savory. I'm going back for that dish alone. CONS: The devilled eggs were pretty bland and crazy overpriced (3 for $6) and didn't live up to the hype AT ALL. Parking! I'm sorry, but whoever heard of valet parking on the eastside of Austin? It makes sense in downtown Austin amoung the skyscrapers but not really anywhere else. Apparently you are good to park along the road where there are "No parking" signs every few feet but it's a strange situation. Meh: 🍓The strawberry cake is pretty but she's nothing special. The bottom of the slice was brown and it was overbaked and slightly dry. Honestly, you could bake a similar cake out of a box yourself. 🧀Mac & Cheese had a great presentation in a cast iron skillet but, other then the melted cheese on top, was really dry. It could do with more melted cheese throughout and more flavor/seasoning. 🍸I ordered the High Noon and the Spicy Texan and the cocktail liquid was the same pallid, milky color for both. Tasty drinks but very bland presentation. Overall, I'm up for another visit but will be venturing out on the menu.
I thought the atmosphere was great. But I was not overwhelmed by the food. We had a buffet dinner and I might have enjoyed the food more if I had been able to order from the menu.
Excellent service, top notch everything but beef. 2 Ribeye, 1 NY Strip & 1 Flatiron all were 2-3 stars. Tough. All but one were Medium Rare, other was Medium. The Taylor Fladgate Tawny was priced nice, the Strawberry cake was outstanding. I personally eat nothing strawberry because it all tastes so artificial and too sweet to me. But this was amazingly low sugar and tasted like fresh strawberries. Two thumbs up from me! A new chocolate with cherries dessert was loved by all four of us. We will be back, but will go with something non-beef next visit.
Beautiful restaurant with tasty southern food. The back patio is awesome with an addition sitting area out by the river which makes a beautiful spot to enjoy an after dinner drink. The stuffed yeast rolls with BBQ butter were sooo good. The deviled eggs were tasty. The strawberry cake is not to be missed. I had the shrimp and grits for my entree and while good I do wish I would have gotten a beef dish since that's what they are known for. My husband's steak was delicious. The Mac and cheese was a little dry and possibly my least favorite dish. Can't wait to come back and try their cheeseburger.
The food and drinks are delicious! However. Be prepared for forced valet parking. Also be prepared for a “3% wellness charge” on your ticket. The owners offer health insurance to their staff, but put this charge on the tab for the customers to offset the expense. If you ask about it, they take it right off lmao.
Parking is best with valet since they have limited space along Ceaser Chavez. Outside seating is nice with a great veiw of secret beach. My first cocktail was so good I had to try another. Be aware the burgers are cooked medium so if you prefer well be sure to tell your waiter/waitress. I found out the hard way after cutting into it I eat my burgers half at a time. Still just as delishious cooked well with a slight pink not running pink. We will be back to try other items. Making reservations is probably the best idea since they get busy.
Country fine dining. Very limited indoor seating. Reservation is a must and can be found with reasonable anticipation (1 week). Very good cocktails, tables for big parties, many shareable appetizers and sides. I highly recommend the tater tots (super cheesy), chicken fried steak and the bbq meat loaf (it is different from traditional not too saucy). Valet parking only as there is limited parking available.
First time at Jacoby’s, ordered the Pimento cheese which was just ok, the flatbread that came with it tasted abit dry and hard. The stuffed yeast rolls were just ok as well, kinda reminded me of an Asian bbq bun. For my main I ordered rib eye ($48) medium rare and I have the say the steak was well cook and well seasoned, the mash potatoes were to die for. The mash had a hint of cinnamon or cardamom which I loved. I would just go back for the mash and I’ll be happy. I did also try the chicken friend steak which I felt wasn’t any different than chicken fried steak you can get somewhere else. Ofcourse we finished off with the strawberry cake which was good, wasn’t too sweet and the icing was good too. Drinks there were nice but they can be alittle pricy. The staff was very friendly, our server Becca was great and helpful. We went on a Wednesday around dinner time and it was kinda dead, they placed us in the room and we were the o my party in there all night. We checked out the outside and the bar area and it seemed slow as well. They do have complementary Valet which is nice, just make sure you tip. Overall it was a nice place to go to, staff is welcoming, food is good. Would I go back maybe on a special occasion but not your average place to go eat on a regular.
This place had a very nice ambience. Very Covid cautious. We sat in the patio and it got very loud with a few larger parties around us. The bone marrow baguette was out of this world! It was an improved version of a salty garlic bread. Mac n Cheese was also extremely tasty. I wasn’t impressed with the French fries and the strawberry cake (looked cute for a picture) but wasn’t really anything special. The Valet attendee was extremely nice and respectful.
Austin has become one of my favorite getaways. It’s close, hip, and plenty things to do and places to eat. Jacoby’s is one of those places to eat and has become one of my favorite places when I go to Austin. This time was no exception. The service is always great and their food variety is also very good with good GF options. Their food and drinks are always great and not your standard fair. The ice cube in my cocktail had vegetables frozen in it and it was crystal clear. Their bloody Marie’s are delicious and they are made fresh in house so you can make them as spicy as you want and the dressing is tasty as well as eye catching. They also sell mimosa’s by the pitcher and the variety of juices are served on the side so you can control how much is in each serving. They also have a good variety of juices. Okay, now for the not so good. I wasn’t a fan of the GF cheesecake but the crust was delicious. The cheesecake itself had the texture and taste of jello. Presentation was nice but I wasn’t a fan. Also, my ribeye had the oddest texture and no taste. I couldn’t figure out how they cooked it. I didn’t know if it was grilled or pan seared. To be fair, I didn’t say anything to them or send it back so I don’t know if it was a fluke or that’s the way it is prepared. Overall, it’s still my go to. If I’m in Austin I will be going to Jacoby’s. The food is too good to pass up. No one gets it perfect every time but they come as close as you can get and I’ve gotten a lot more amazing than bad.
Recommend the Pork Loin Rillette (beware it is spicy!) and strawberry cake. Food was elevated southern comfort. The atmosphere and service has more of a casual feel. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating was not as nice as I expected being seated right next to the plastic sheets. Maybe nicer when it's warm to have a clearer view of the river. Service was attentive but would have liked it to be slower paced for less dinner interruptions.
Great location with a wonderful atmosphere and well-cooked food. I heard Jacoby's offered brunch, so I had to give this place a try. We ordered biscuits and gravy as a starter, this turned out to be a big mistake. The portions here are very generous and the biscuits are no exception. These biscuits are huge and the gravy is very tasty (needs more gravy with the order).I was nearly full when our main courses were delivered. The beef and hash (nothing like corned beef&hash which I was told it was similar to)is a unique dish, everything is cooked well and tastes good. My problem with the dish was there is way too much BBQ flavor in the hollandaise so it overpowers the other flavors. Bottom line everything we ate here was good, not great. The food tastes very good but the thing missing here is execution. For example, the biscuits and gravy need more gravy with the order, otherwise, the giant biscuits come out dry while eating. The service here is exceptional, everyone is very kind and quite engaging. We sat at the bar and our servers kindly answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. Jacoby's is worth a stop and I'm positive you'll enjoy the meal and dining experience.
Over priced for quality of food. Our steaks were tough and the a la carte prices outrageous. Even the carrot cake was dry... and tasted old. Obviously trying to be a high-end steakhouse but truly not there. The valet parking is not necessary and definitely out of place.
Tried Jacoby's brunch today. It had a cool vibe, and the service was top-notch. We tried the beef hash and chicken fried steak waffles—decent but nothing extraordinary, considering the prices, we found it a bit expensive for what we ordered. The valet parking was a minor inconvenience, but overall, it was an okay experience.
The food and cocktails are a bit disappointing considering the price. Appreciate they raise their own cattle. We got the ribeye (didn't taste any better than a large, mid-price chain), sirloin & frites (asked for medium, but there was no pink - I should've sent it back), Mac & cheese (meh, it was ok), and a Snickers pie (too rich for us, though good flavor). My cocktail tasted watery and overall they were just "ok". Service is immaculate and our water glasses were kept full. Overall though it's average food at too high a price.
Out experience was not really good. The atmosphere is great, the food is Ok, but our waitress was very impatient and rude. When we were ordering, my friend asked for a dish, but then decided on another one. The waitress was rolling her eyes and buffing. She said orange juice was freshly squeezed and brought a bottled juice. Then seemed upset when we mentioned it was not fresh. Real bad service.
This place was among the top of my "wanted to go" list but the experience and food moved this place to "may want to go sometime but there are better options" list. We tried deviled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and the crab cake benedict. Deviled eggs were okay and they weren't as flavorful as I would expect from such a nice place, and same was the case with the crab cake benedict. The food wasn't bad, it was still good, but I expected much more if I am paying $20+ for a dish at any restaurant. What saved the meal for me was the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was crunchy and the gravy was flavorful and creamy. The drinks and biscuits and gravy is what I enjoyed here which makes me think there are better things on the menu which I should try, but I don't want to experiment at this place as it is so expensive.
The atmosphere here was great, the service was ok and the food was good. Im not sure if the poor weather and an incident at another table affected our waiter which could have been the case as he perked up towards the end. But I must say it was a bit awkward at times. Regarding the food being good, I would say that's exactly it. I was by no means blown away by anything and enjoyed the French fries more than my actual burger. If you're looking for a new place to check out I would give it a shot. But I won't be in a huge rush to come back any time soon unless other people want to go.
We have dined here on multiple occasions, and every time we have had to send our first steak order back due to being overcooked. Once the temperature of the meat is corrected, the food is generally good, but nothing spectacular and somewhat disappointing. The staff is very understanding and accommodating if you are dissatisfied with the preparation of your meal, which is a plus. They do tend to disappear to the interior of the restaurant if you’re dining outside, so order drinks in advance if you see them. The hamburger is always excellent, so moving forward this is what I’ll stick with when dining here. The outdoor seating is comfortable and atmosphere overall is excellent.
The food and the atmosphere were really good. The hostess and the folks there in general were nice. Our server on the other hand was terrible.. never came back to check on us, ask us if we needed anything. Just got our orders, brought the drinks and food, and was gone until when it came time for us to have to pay. We wanted to order some more drinks, but decided to just leave it alone. I wondered for a second if it was because our complexion.. kinda funny because I believe the lady was biracial or should I say black lol.. I just didn’t see her give that same energy to the caucasian customers.. if anything they seemed to receive some great service. The kind we would have loved to receive. anyhooo, I always say a dine in spot is always just as good as the service provided.. perhaps the experience would have been different with another server.. check it out for yourself and see! You won’t go wrong with the food at least.
Great atmosphere and service. Drinks and apps were very good. But steaks were barely average. Party of nine and everyone that ordered the ribeye was not impressed. I recommend forgoing the expensive steaks and getting steak and frites. The broccoli was very tasty and fresh, and everyone loved the brussel sprouts.
Just an okay experience. The service was very good but the brunch seemed to be a bit lacking. Pretty expensive and from what I saw from other pics on here, rather small portions. I ended up just getting the biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was much bigger than I expected, which would be a plus, but it was so dry and so large, it was a bit of a chore to eat. My mate had the pimento cheese grits and breakfast sausage. The sausage was good, the grits were just grits.
The ambiance is great here, super cute interior and their plating was very good. However, the food was just so flat for the price. Waitress was not particularly friendly or attentive, but competent. Bloody Mary’s and coffee were good. Honestly the food is just disappointing, and we wouldn’t go back.
It's taken me a few weeks to finally write this, and honestly, I wouldn't have bothered if a friend hadn't just shared a similarly disappointing experience at Jacoby's in Austin as I have never left a review in my life. My experience is that I had called the restaurant to confirm whether walk-ins are completely acceptable since I was planning on having lunch there with friends. However, when we arrived we were told by the hostess that the restaurant was completely booked, with only bar seating available. We happily agreed, only to find the half of the dining room AND outdoor area was completely deserted. When I questioned the hostess again, she then mentioned with a horrendous attitude that there were tables, but we'd have to vacate within two hours – a more than reasonable condition that should have been offered upfront. The food …. the food itself was shockingly bland to where it was just flat out insulting to each of us. The deviled eggs were utterly tasteless, and the rest of our meal followed suit as agreed by friends whom we all tried to maintain a positive attitude since we refused to believe the food could be so horrendously bland. To top it off, the food was served on what looked and felt like cheap plastic knock-offs of Dixie plates – hardly the ambiance I expected. We also had different waiters for no apparent reason, which just added to the disjointed feel. And the "riverside view"? Don't be fooled. It's just a view of a parking lot that is specifically for the “valet” parking, which is mandatory by the way. Finally, the automatic "wellness charge" for the staff felt like a cop-out. Isn't that the restaurant's responsibility? I'm honestly shocked by the number of positive reviews I've seen and have to wonder if Jacoby's is actively having negative feedback removed, because our experience was severely disappointing and certainly doesn't align with the praise I've seen elsewhere. I'd strongly advise others to steer clear.
You would think discrimination would not happen in 2023, but yet again…here we are. Joseph the manager who barely greeted us beside stating the words do you have a reservation? When we walked in at 10:03am to a EMPTY restaurant. After a long ordeal he mentioned the only thing he had available was at the Bar. I said, I would look at the bar and see if that would work. It didn’t. It takes an hour for a 2top to eat brunch and hour in half at most. We could have easily set at one of the MANY available tables. If you are reservation only. Say this. Because when called you said walk ins are welcomed. I would understand if we came in at noon or later. But arriving 3 mins after you open and being told we could only sit at the bar. While looking around at an EMPTY tables is truly the worst service ever. Again if we were a white couple walking in we would have been set at a regular table. Shame on you Joseph & Jacoby’s do better. I’ve attached pics of the EMPTY restaurant that didn’t let’s us sit down.
The restaurant is decorated beautiful the from the moment you walk in there is definitely a Clear identity. The valet parking while free and very polite. The hostess was very accommodating at finding a table that would make my entire group happy but but that's where the good stuff ends.. Our waiter was sufficient for a good textmex drinking hole restaurant but I expected more from this place. Often our tea and water were left empty And there were great spans of time that we did not see him at all. But by far the worst and most egregious part of this meal was the food. Once again when the food arrived much like the décor in the restaurant it looked great! Point many of the diners I was with took time to photograph their plates But unfortunately the food was subpar at best. I ordered the croque monsieur which was really a giant biscuit with some cheese and quality ham baked off on top.... The biscuit had too much baking soda not enough salt and was extremely dry the the biscuit was literally 90% of this meal the whole idea is wrong. For a $17 biscuit and ham I want to be blown away they did put a little bit of their signature pimento cheese on it and the few bites that came with it were delicious but once again They need to rethink this dish. Everyone at the table agreed that they're food was sub par some people liked it more than others but no one thought this rose to the occasion of the prices and service. Must give a shout out to the iced tea it was excellently brood and obviously good quality. This place is mostly surface with very little substance I will not be returning.
Most racist establishment we’ve ever been to. The server treated us explicitly rudely and dismissively from the onset, despite us being polite and friendly. We were so confused. She rolled her eyes at our choices and was aggressive with every question. We received no greeting when we sat down. On our way out, we reported her to a manager using professional language and speaking in low tones so as not to make a scene, and he completely dismissed our statement. I would never eat here again and I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life before. I hope they are ashamed.
