Palomino is such a gem in Austin. Their rosemary vanilla latte is absolutely incredible it’s warm, creamy and perfectly balanced with just the right hint of rosemary. It’s become my favorite comfort drink. I also love that they carry a beautiful line of Latina-owned skincare products it makes the space feel intentional and community-centered. The café is filled with gorgeous plants that make it cozy and inviting, and the staff truly elevate the experience. Maria especially makes you feel so welcomed every time you walk in. It’s the kind of place that feels like home.
Hands down the most delicious coffee i’ve had in the ATX area. It’s not the sugary slop you usually get at starbucks, or the flat “americano” passed off as cafe lattes. These guys are definitely exposed to the global coffee scene somehow. I had the house blend latte with whole milk. It’s affordable as well.
Palomino Coffee is a wonderful spot for coffee lovers. The drinks are fresh and flavorful, and the baristas are knowledgeable and welcoming. The cafe has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends or working on your laptop.
The coffee and service were great! The real star of Palomino is the atmosphere, I love the unique and cozy idea to fill the place with plants! You can even buy some if you feel up to it! The area it's in is a little sketchy but I'd say it's well worth the visit if you're in the area!
✨ Five-Star Heaven in East Austin ✨ Palomino Coffee is an absolute gem; a sensory delight nestled in the heart of East Austin. From the moment I stepped in, I was swept away by its elevated vibe: lush greenery cascading from every corner, warm natural light dancing across polished concrete floors, and a soundtrack that felt curated just for me. The ambiance? Immaculate. The energy? Effortlessly cool. Let’s talk parking ——-> a rare and glorious find in ATX. Stress-free, easy, and plentiful. And yes, it’s dog-friendly, which means my next visit will include my four-legged sidekick soaking up the good vibes right beside me. The service was kind, welcoming, and refreshingly chill. I felt seen, not rushed. The matcha latte was transcendent ~ creamy, earthy, and perfectly balanced. The cappuccino? A silky dream with latte art that deserved its own spotlight. I’m still thinking about that flaky, sesame-topped pastry… and regretting not snagging one of the gorgeous plants on display. Palomino isn’t just a coffee shop • it’s a mood, a moment, a must. I can’t wait to return and relive the magic. Five stars, no hesitation.
Palomino Coffee is such a vibey coffee shop. Plants surrounding you, a southwest feel, incense burning, tons of natural light - it’s the kinda coffee shop I could sit in for hours. I went on a Sunday morning around 10am and it was packed. The line was very long - waited about 15 minutes to order - but it was well worth the wait. I ordered a honey latte which was nice, but I definitely should have tried a specialty coffee instead. The plants are all for sale and look so so happy! They have a decent amount of indoor seating with large communal tables, and plenty of outdoor tables as well. There’s a large parking lot so parking was not an issue at all.
We were visiting Austin from the east coast and this is one of the coolest coffee shops I have ever seen. I love how they leaned into the southwest aesthetic and the organic material of the interior design is so refreshing and beautiful. The espresso drinks were really well done as well. The shop is an open concept layout so there’s not as much seating in that space but no one who came in wasn’t able to find a spot. Such a beautiful interior, which is an integral part of the allure of a successful coffee shop. They are also dog friendly which was so fun!!!
Ordered a flat white and a matcha latte, both were solid overall but neither blew me away. They have single origin espresso and pour overs, which is a huge plus. They also have a good selection of pastries and breakfast items. Tons of seating and free WiFi, lots of remote workers on laptops. I also really appreciated that the music was very low and I could have a conversation without feeling like I had to yell over anyone.
This place is awesome, I’ve gone here three days in a row to work on finals and here is what I have to say: - Matcha Latte : one of the better spots for matcha, it is very muted here so you definitely like it more towards the end. They also don’t go too hard on syrups so it’s never too sweet (sometimes you can barely taste the syrup at all). I like the hot version of this one more than iced here. I really enjoyed it with the vanilla syrup, but my boyfriend is a bigger fan of the lavender. - Blueberry Latte: I was very surprised about this one. You get hints of blueberry so it’s not overpowering and again, at first you aren’t sure but as you keep drinking it gets better. I really enjoyed this one iced. -Cardamom Mocha: I’ve had this one in Mexico so I was pleasantly surprised by how strong the flavor for this is, especially when you compare it to how muted most drinks are. They also have just the latte which I have yet to try. I had it iced and it was really good, I do think this is one that would taste better warm. Like most mochas, it might be a little grainy towards the end but I didn’t have a problem with it. - Earl Grey Special: I can’t remember the exact name of this drink but it’s one of their seasonal lattes. My boyfriend had it warm and it’s definitely a stronger flavor, not too sweet. - pistachio donut: I will forever dream about this. I think it was seasonal so it wasn’t there anymore on my third trip but I wish so badly it was. - pecan cinnamon roll: amazing - coffee cake: tasted great, it was dry to me but boyfriend said it was perfect. It’s also vegan so that may be a bonus. - cost: I’ve been to a lot of Austin coffee shops and this place is actually pretty fair. I’d say it’s in the middle (about $8 for a 16oz) I’ve seen coffees that are around $13 which is when it gets too excessive in my opinion. - Service: everyone here is super nice and there is free wifi - vibe: I love the decor, it reminds me of Spain. I think this is a lesser known cafe for now because it’s usually pretty relaxed throughout the day which makes it a very nice study spot. I’ve also never had a problem finding an outlet.
If you’re a coffee lover or just someone looking for a peaceful spot to chill, Palomino Coffee is a gem you have to check out. The space has such a warm, inviting vibe — clean, airy, and beautifully designed with desert-inspired décor that gives it a modern yet earthy feel. I ordered the Rosemary Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor was unique but perfectly balanced — smooth, aromatic, and comforting with just the right hint of rosemary. You can tell they take their drinks seriously and put thought into every cup. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the whole environment felt relaxed — no rush, no pressure. There’s plenty of parking, which is such a plus in Austin, and honestly, even after I finished my coffee, I didn’t want to leave. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, whether you’re working, catching up with a friend, or just enjoying the vibe. Photos speak for themselves — this place is a total vibe
The coffee was so good I had to order my second cappuccino. The staff were very sweet. The food selection is limited to just a few and popular options like donuts or croissants. I just wish they have more seatings as there’s always people standing or leave since there’s not enough seats. Probably it’s because of the cold and noone can sit outside.
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin! Loving the Santa Fe vibe and their interior design. I'm addition to the coffee bar menu, there's also a wide selection of local products for you to shop. I ordered lavender honey latte and the pecan taste goes really well with it. All staff I met was friendly. And they do a really good job on the music playlist as well. Highly recommend!
Got some weird vibes here. I wanna suggest that the Barista who takes the orders SMILE when she greets the customers. Person who took my order today was not friendly and I felt rushed to order even though there’s not a menu you can look at until you get to the Register. I’m not giving a lower rating because I mostly try and give 5 stars—but I wanted to leave a review so that the customer service hopefully improves with my feedback.
The place is great for hanging out. I’m someone who enjoys exploring different coffee spots mainly to relax and spend time rather than just for the coffee itself. From that perspective, I’d rate this place positively.
Ok let’s be real most of people who first come here come for the aesthetics. Decorated in southwest style with a ton of plants (all for sale) this is easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops in Austin. You are surrounded by beautiful gorgeous plants and the furniture inside is all curves and the communal tables are nice. They have plenty of shared tables to sit and study - if you’re hoping for your own table to study at probably wouldn’t recommend this place. They also have a nice bar area to sit at. They do have Wifi and it is strong. Outlet wise they do have some scattered throughout (I counted about 5 that people can use throughout). It’s also nice they have a covered outside patio area though you will mainly be looking at a parking lot and new construction. Super dog friendly - there is a sign that says service dogs only inside but there were definitely a lot of non service dogs inside. Drink wise I got the cardamom mocha and I love it because it is not incredibly sweet and has a nice depth of chocolate flavor. If you like a Starbucks level of sweetness of mocha you likely may not like it, so don’t expect a super sweet drink. My husband got the seasonal snake bite which consists of vanilla citrus ginger syrup drink - definitely more vanilla and citrus but couldn’t appreciate the ginger as much. I do appreciate that if you ask it for here it comes in real mugs/real plates. Food wise they source pastries/tacos/kolaches from various different stores. It is nice they have a microwave to heat up the kolaches/tacos. I got the mushroom danish pastry which I am fairly certain is from Sour Duck and it was delicious. Service wise there was a little something left to be desired. I found the girl working the cashier uppity and cold, but maybe it was because it was early in the morning. Did kind of detract experience slightly. Free parking lot in front so parking super easy. Overall I would come again to enjoy aesthetics and drinks!
First time visitor! The place is obviously very beautiful. We tried some kolaches and got 2 lattes. For the entire time we were here, there were long lines. Not enough seating to fit everyone and lots of dogs interacting with each other and people. Maybe try this spot when it is less busy, if you're looking for a quiet place to read or work.
Palomino coffee is trying to set itself apart in a city with so many amazing coffee spots! Here is an honest rating about its various aspects - Taste of latte - 5 stars, they brew Flatrack and it’s hands down amazing, ambience and space - 5 stars, love the decor, plants and the whole Santa Fe vibe with the record players and coffee bean sacks and the roasting machinery, cost - 4 stars and staff - about a 3.5 - not very welcoming, maybe they were having a bad day, a little grumpy. More in-depth, I love that they serve Flatrack beans which are generally a little on the expensive side - about $22-24. I’m a fan of Barrett’s coffee and I don’t think anyone can beat them when it comes to beans and value for money. The latte was amazing and very well done, absolutely no complains there but a $.50 each for takeout paper cups? That’s didn’t jive with me especially when we weren’t even told about it during checkout - odd. The ambience is calm and quiet with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as good music playing - loved the record player. They do sell soaps and other items as well along with drinks, beans and pastries. It is worth visiting if you love exploring new coffee spots in and around Austin but not sure I will come back here regularly.
I really like the atmosphere in this place, and the service is pleasant. The person who took our order was very friendly. The decor is quite unusual—it feels like everything is made of clay. For two coffees, we paid $17, which I wouldn’t consider cheap. Additionally, we were asked to pay an extra $1 because I requested my Iced Matcha without ice. I didn’t like the taste of the matcha—I could only taste the milk. And despite asking for no ice and even paying extra for it, they still put ice in my drink. The vanilla latte that my boyfriend ordered was quite tasty for me. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
