I want to give A huge shout out to Kaila I just want appreciate Her kindness and Great customer satisfaction and the rest of the staff thank you all the food was hot and fresh. It’s been a whole minute since I’ve been to taco cabana so thank you.
Always good service and food taste great I ordered take pit
Mornings aren't the same without a breakfast taco combo. The staff is always friendly and seem to be happy. It's a great pick-me-up on my way to work. Also, fresh homemade flour tortillas are lovely.
Friendly service - this was my New Year's dinner treat to myself - I had one crispy taco & one chicken fajita + both were warm & tasty. The place was tidy & clean; the condiments bar was fully stocked & FRESH. I am a very pleased customer & will return.
The woman taking the order wasn't the manager but she was nice. It did take about 30 minutes in the drive thru to get to the menu so that much is true by my experience. We ordered the taco box and they were pretty good, not gonna lie. It comes with 3 bean and cheese, 3 potato and egg, 3 bacon and egg and 3 chorizo and egg tacos.. They had flavor but they were missing salt for sure. The bacon was better here than I thought it would be, they just need more seasoning in my opinion. The margaritas were better than I had expected and they gave us 2 mini bar bottles of tequila cause we were in the drive thru and they won't pre-make them due to the possibility of a DUI. Strawberry and Mango margarita are worth a try. Over all it was decent just watch how you treat the employees and your visit should be just fine.
I had a great experience both times I visited the North Lamar location in Austin. I'm a 5th generation Austinite and still live near this area where I was born. Great service and even better food prepared by Eric G. down the line. Entire staff was great....Eggs Mexicana plate was really good.....crispy bacon and all! Eric went over and above to make my sure the order was prepared to my expectations. Please give your staff kudos and a raise! for such exceptional service!
Taco Cabana has quickly replaced my love of Taco Bell. The food quality is better, the chips and queso seem creamier, and the margs are a plus! Taco Cabana, you keep doing you, stay golden!
Gotta love the new 2 breakfast tacos for three dollars and two lunch tacos for 4 dollars. Taco Cabana should use more seasoning in their food but then again it's kinda like the McDonald's of Mexican food so considering the special prices I think it works for me. I will however never get over the fact they got rid of the green salsa !😭🤧😆.
I love me some Taco Cabana; from the flavor, diversity, and margaritas. This location Rocks! They listen, my order comes out right, and the quality is yummy
Excellent food and service. I had the family platter, the amount of food was pretty good. It was served very quickly. The restaurant was really clean, one thing I miss is the sauce area, but it's allright the food was tasty. I ate too much, I went home and took a nap!!
Manager Daniel Vergara is always on point, very friendly, and orders come out fresh and very delicious!! I’ve never had a more enjoyable place to eat than North Lamar Taco Cabana!! Staff is welcoming, place is spotless, and all around vibe is incomparable!! I love this place!! Honestly I don’t usually ever write reviews but this place was so perfect I just have to let the public know!!!!! #1 in Austin in my book; thank you Daniel for the hard work and great times!!!!! 100 million stars!!!
Had forgotten my phone. Of course I was super worried. Got there and my phone was there . Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! Like always Taco Cabana is the best!
Sometimes a lil slow, but over all the food is always good.
I usually go to the drive thru but I ordered online today and picked up inside. The two women inside did great. One was at the register and one was making the food as I can see. Got my order right!! Made my 3 margaritas correctly and my nachos looked good and tasted great. All locations don’t get it right
The staff made my bean and cheese taco as fast as an F1 team. It really was amazing. I didn’t have enough money for a proper drink, so they let me have a water cup, and they were very graceful about that. Even though I put a tiny bit of ice tea in the water cup, just for the flavor, they also gave me a free lime which was really nice. They have very clean restrooms and I recommend taco cabana for anyone looking for great text Max and Mexican food on a budget and even if you’re not on a budget is tasty.
Who knew a bean burrito could be so flavorful & taste so freaking good! Super clean , fast service, friendly employees! My friend insisted I try the bean burritos and I was secretly thinking in my head "What could be so great about a bean burrito" but I went ahead and got a cpl and WOW I WAS AMAZED! I'm use to Taco bells lame bean burritos and they aren't even my favorite thing but NOW I KNOW WHY MY FRIEND KEPT SAYiNG HOW GOOD THEY WERE! The burritos are big and filling so I was only able 2 eat 2 of them! I won't ever eat another Taco bell burrito again!!!!
Laura made me feel welcome and comforted during my experience. She gave phenomenal service to my family, and she cared so much that she had patience. Her attitude, work ethic, bilingualism, and politeness will take her far in her career. Every Taco Cabana needs to take notes from this location and implement this strategy to survive. I kid you not; I have not been to one of these establishments since December due to unprofessional behavior, dirtiness, and bad food, but Laura made me want to consume more at her location. The Austin affiliation and Round Rock need to step up their game. If improvement isn't seen, I won't step into another Taco Cabana like this place or someone like Laura. Please protect Laura at all costs and give this lady a raise for her outstanding service.
Taco Cabana *VISIT @Houseofbeautyaustin before your next outing to take care of those Facials Lashes! @Austin360Cam for those PHOTO BOOTH rentals.
This is the only location that has a decent size taco! And I love it!
I ordered a to go order online. The little gal in the kitchen assembling my order was friendly & efficient. She packed the large order nicely so I could carry it easily. This was Monday @ 12:15 92/02/2026.
Out of all the Taco Cabana's in Austin this locatin had the highest review. Me and the wife drive across town for some taquitos and a quesadilla and i see why they have the highest review. Wanna give a shout out to Keemon who took my order and made my food. Thanks man , everything was fresh amd just hit the spot.
“Taco Cabana provided outstanding service—professional, fast, and friendly. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious, making the entire experience enjoyable. I truly appreciate the team’s dedication and commitment to excellence!”
If you are ordering catering call the catering line. If you want amazing service come here. I could cry and hug these ladies in fact I did! Daniela and Amber are 10 stars for me! Amazing ladies. Completely fixed MY mistake in online ordering and Amber at the catering service call center omg omg blessings and angels all of them!!!!
I came in the afternoon this time, and I have to say it was better than when I was served in the mornings. The people who were working were kind and helpful with everything. I have to say I will be coming back in the afternoons.
Huge thanks to the Taco Cabana team for going above and beyond to help us on short notice! We needed 9 dozen breakfast tacos to feed a large group of Capitol visitors, and this location stepped up without hesitation. The staff was incredibly helpful, fast, and friendly, even with the very last-minute request. Everything was hot, fresh, and perfectly packed for transport. You helped us take care of a lot of hungry folks, and we’re so grateful for your excellent service and hospitality. Highly recommend this location for both quality and customer care!
I went around 1:45pm on a Thursday. The place was relatively empty. I was greeted right when I got to the register to place my order which was nice. I also noticed this location was pretty clean, which given the reviews from several other TC locations, I appreciated. I could see the girls in the back cleaning both the counter space and grill aswell. I got my order within mins of ordering and it was handed to me with a smile by the girl who I believe prepared it. When I got to my car I inspected my plate just to make sure everything was there. The plate was neatly organized and everything was there. I can understand how people's experiences vary given the staff, location and individual expectations. However, I can honestly say my experience was a good one for my first time at this location.
This location was very clean restrooms were clean. The staff was courteous. My son order came out a little burnt we notified the cashier and he promptly took care of it and got my son a plate or the chicken wasn't burnt and apologized plenty of times which I didn't ask but he did take care of everything. Me and my son eat there fairly often and will continue to
It's fast casual and close to where I work. That makes it my go to for quick Tex Mex during lunch. The service can be hit or miss, but the food is always pretty good. It's worth it if you are in the area, but don't expect the menu to change drastically. Oh and make sure to ask for salsa at the window because that's the only way to get it at the drive thru.
Taco Cabana has been around for a good while, and I've noticed over the years that the franchise has continuously evolved from the struggling little taco stand that it was, into the widely popular chain that it is now. The menu is not only delicious but healthy too! Beans, meat, tortillas, and your choice of beer or margaritas. I love it! And in pleasant weather, enjoy your food and drinks on the patio where you can people watch. Try it. You're going to love it.
The customer service was amazing. Kudos to Reagan and Adam. The day manager seemed less enthusiastic, yelled at my friend who grabbed a beer a was online to pay for it. Also he charged us for a taco when the coupon said two free tacos.
Honestly there's one reason why I'm leaving a review here: The gentleman that regularly works the drive thru window during the evening shift. Although I haven't been able to aquire his name, he is a large framed black gentleman, roughly 30 years old, and he makes this place. Wouldn't come back if it weren't for him. When/if I find out his name I'll edit the review. Food and other attributes are standard TC
Went late almost closing time and the service and food never disappoint. The lady at the front counter was awesome.
well unfortunately their system wasnt working correctly so they had some issues with using one of my rewards so when I tried to go pay they told me I couldn't use it but thankfully one of the employees knew what to do to fix the issue...the beans seemed a lil too dry for my bowl but overall was pleasant. I guess I had just missed which was nice but you could tell in the lobby which they fixed while we had already sat and wiped down our own
I come to this place pretty often because my job is right down the road. The food is pretty good for it being a fast food Mexican restaurant, the service is always nice, and the place is normally clean.
Consistently above average fast food. Typically one of the cleaner units in central Texas, I know, I've been to most of them. Generally you can expect Texas Friendly service. This can be hit or miss depending on the crew member. Awesome drinks if you're interested in dining in. Happy hour from 4 to 7 daily.
DRIVE THRU IS CLOSED. Which wasn’t a huge issue because so many places are short staffed. The line was really slow though, again probably due to short staffed. Our order was correctly made and I love my shredded chicken tacos. Only issue I had was the rice, it was dry, like dry dry….Sahara desert dry. I know the beans and rice come in a bag but…..my rice has never been that dry like at this location. Other than that, everything was fine.
The steak taco didn't have much flavor but loved the staff and it was clean.
One of the better quick serve Ameri-mex chains. A highlight is the automatic tortilla machine which yields a decent flour tortilla and as a bonus is fun for kids to watch. There’s also a salsa bar which is always better than wrestling with tiny packets of whatever they serve you at the competition.
I'll start by saying that the food here is very enjoyable to eat and is fairly priced for what you get. The reason for the 3 star rating is their employees. I'm not implying anything particularly bad about them, but I've just never felt overly welcomed by their staff any time I've ever been to this location (maybe 20 times or so). They've never been rude or mean, but I got more of an impression that they just really didn't give a damn to have customers in there. Kind of feels like the type of customer interaction you'd expect at the DMV--that it's a privelege and not your right to be able to go there. I do still go here for food sometimes, though.
My Mom and I dined in here back on Feb. 25th. Food was descent, but the refried beans were VERY DRY, had no moisture at all, so we both just picked at them. The fajitas were fairly good, but the chips and salsa... FANTASTIC!!! A couple of weeks later, I got an order to go, and once again the refried beans were VERY DRY.☹️ Not sure what is up with that, but at any rate, chips and salsa SAVED THE DAY again.
They keep changing their menu so you are confused and can't figure out what you liked last time. One TC in Austin, TX brought our food out but didn't tell us which dish was which so we ended up eating each other's! Most of the time, we have to wait for someone to come to the register. It's good food but sloppy management.
Came in ordered the happy hour special beef nachos. They were stellar chips were crispy cheese was hot liquid gold beef was seasoned right. Cons tortillas on the carousel were left being unattended. A worker blatantly grabbed a large cup of a fountain drink to go. Guess she was getting off work needed a drink to go home with. Dont know if this is a concern or not for the GM may be costing them some money. Restrooms dirty hadn't been clean probably since lunch time. The store was dead when I came in someone can or should have cleaned the restrooms with down time. 3 is fair not bad but room for improvement
The food at this location is decent and the service is great when ever I come here, but the soda from lobby soda fountain never tastes or smells good. The sodas come out tasting like they haven't cleaned the lobby soda fountain in about a year.
I would have given 5 stars but we went there and waited at the order box and no one responded rolled up to the window and some kid was standing there doing nothing and then signed to us they were closed. like his head set was on and he's standing there doing nothing. like why didn't he just answer at the order box when the car set off the headset. like I haven't worked a drive thru before (eye roll)
At only 8pm, they made it very clear they were ready for me to go.... However, the cashier was incredibly kind and helpful. LOVE the salsa bar!
This location seems to be managed strangely and inconsistently. The service varies from bored and indifferent to warm and friendly. The wait times range from reasonably quick to incomprehensibly slow. For Day of the Dead, they put up decorations that block half the menu until you're at the register, resulting slow decisions on the part of the customers, and, consequentially, a long line to order. It seems like there's always something weird like this going on. That said, I like the food, and the space makes for a pleasant place to eat, with big windows and a spacious feel, in spite of the fairly dense seating. The tacos are good, and between the sides, tortillas, and salsa, you get a level of variety that's normally hard to find in fast food, though this is at the expense of a bit higher prices. If you catch it on a good day, it's great. If you catch it on a bad day, you can at least get a bit of a head-scratcher, as you try to figure out what, exactly, is going on behind the scenes.
Since the company was sold they cut some corners. For example, they basically got rid of the salsa bar and the queso tastes like it comes straight from a can. Long gone are the days of the tortilla maker machines, more like a slightly better alternative to the big brand taco fast food chain.
Food is always well made and simply delicious.
How is it possible after 7:00 a.m. the sauces are not displayed. Staff said if it'll be ready in a few more minutes, wait what? 7:25 am and their sauces are still not available in the bar, then maybe the doors shouldn't be open because people want sauces with their meals. The 2 filled containers were barely placed now. 7:30am and no other sauces in the bar while my food is losing heat, this is ridiculous! Mgmt is obviously not prioritizing their store.
It's a nice newly constructed store. I've visited it three times over the last year. Each time I showed up with a coupon for either a free margarita or one free or reduced price entree. All three times, the margarita machine was broken or the entrees were unavailable for a variety of reasons. The one time I purchased an entree at full price, the food was brought out bland and cold. The store is difficult to enter unless you approach from the North on Lamar Blvd., driving South. Once you're finished eating (or not eating as the case may be), it's very difficult to pull out of the parking lot to proceed either North or South on Lamar Blvd. Visiting there is too much work for too little reward.
I hope the manager or the corporate office sees my review and personally contacts me. If not for the very professional young African American woman who listened to my issues I encountered this morning, I would have never come back again. She is a star and be recognized! As I walked out with my order I stopped by to let her know how professional she was.
I don't know. Better to walk in rather than go through the drive through I guess. The young man on the intercom clearly didn't hear me, even though I spoke louder than normally because of the busy roadway on the other side of me. When I started my order and told the young man what I wanted with a few modifications on the first item, he asked if that would be all, And I said no. When I procecced to say the rest of my order he told me the total for my 1 out of 6 items I was getting. I try gaining his attention and then silence. I sat for a few minuets. Cars still behind me, I called out again. He asked "is everything okay?" and I said "No, I wasn't finished with my order". I finished my order and after a few "can you repay that." I then got to the window, Paid and received my items. I asked for salsa and extra napkins before paying and he said "yes ma'am". When I pulled to the side in the parking lot to check that I received everything I asked for, all the food items and drinks were right, But I had no silverware, napkins, one straw for 3 drinks, and you guessed it no salsa.... annoyed now, I had to go inside to get the items myself. If I wanted to do that, I would've walked in to begin with... the lady at the register apologized, gave me what i asked for in the drive through, and I went on my way. I'm more annoyed then I am happy with my experience here. I dont know if the guy was on auto pilot, didnt want to be there, or whetever but one thing is for sure, that is the First and last time I'll do the drive through here, maybe even visiting this location again... bottom line I'm not happy. Food was good, that's the only reason I'm giving two stars. If you decide to do drive through like I did today, just yell at them so they can hear you because they obviously couldn't hear me.
The food is wayyy overpriced. I ordered 2 Chicken Taco Combos that came out to a total of $15.78. Normally that would be fine but I got home to find their tacos came with nothing on them but meat! I get that had we been indoors we could use the toppings bar but why would you not include sides for those orders taken to go? The chips were also very stale. Due to the inflated prices for basically nothing I will not be returning to Taco Cabana.
Previously rated this five stars, but lowering it to two after my experience today. I ordered a combo and the employee said they had no sodas, only tea, bottled water, or juice. I told her no drink then, just the tacos and chips and queso. The drink came up on the screen though and the price was for the whole combo. When I got to window I asked her about it and she said “no it won’t charge you for the drink even though it says that.” She runs my card for the full amount of the combo, and gives me a receipt that even says on it “1 Small Drink.” I am looking at the receipt when she quickly hands me my food and just as fast closes the window before I could say anything (there was no one behind me). She then walked away quickly. She knew what she was doing was wrong and did it anyway, then lied about it and ran away. This was at most a theft and at least unethical and dishonest. I would think twice about using this location in the future.
This location has gone down the last few times coming here. The multicolored hair girl taking drive thru orders at the window needs some customer service. We waited way too long for being the only car at first in the drive thru and no one inside. After waiting forever in the drive thru after paying she opens the window trying to collect payment again as if I’m the next car and I said it’s still me, already paid been waiting for my food. She just looked at me confused, closes window then finally comes back with my food another few more mins and then looks annoyed at me. Doesn’t say sorry for the wait, here you go, have a good day, nothing. Food was cold not sure why as it took so long should have been fresh. Asked for sour cream she said it comes with all that. It came with nothing when I got home. Will be sticking with Research location from now on.
This is the closest quick place to grab lunch near my job. I had no issues with service, but ordered only to find out that they were out of chicken. How does that even happen at noon?! Just a note, it would be helpful to have staff inform customers of out of stock items before ordering or even post it on the door. I would have preferred to know what I couldn't have before standing in line.
I ordered my food in the driveway and had to repeatedly ask for a coffee. She told me she had it added to the order but I didn't see it. I got to the window and she repeated the order and I had to ask her for the coffee again. She added it to the order and asked if I wanted cream and sugar, I told her yes. I told her that I also needed the jalapeno salsa and the regular salsa. She rang my order then walked away and didn't give me back my card. She came back and asked me what salsa I needed again, I told her again the regular salsa and the jalapeno salsa. I got to the office (right behind Taco Cabana in the office buildings) and I begin walking into the building. I realize my coffee is spilling but I thought it was coming from the lid. I checked the lid and it was on right. Halfway into the building I realize my bag is tearing and my food is almost falling out. I also realize the cup is leaking from the side. The coffee cup has a whole on the side of it and it's leaking slowly. I get into the office and switch the coffee into one of my cups and get ready to eat my food. I did not get the jalapeno salsa, I received jalapenos instead (after repeating the salsa type twice ensuring to say salsa so that she would understand I didn't want jalapenos). Then I open my food to begin eating it and it's cold. All of it. The cheese didn't even melt on the food which helps me to understand the food was cold when they prepped it. Then she gave me a hand full of sugar but only one actual sugar, all of the rest were sugar supplements which I do not use. The employee was not thorough, maybe she was new (she didn't act as though she was new). I normally don't do reviews but this was ridiculous. I know people make mistakes but the hot coffee, almost losing my food, and then it's all cold just was too much for me. Plus I was really looking forward to the jalapeno salsa.
Took them 20mins to get chicken street tacos and a bean burrito to me. Slowest Taco Cabana I’ve ever been to!
it is what it is. they get my order wrong almost every single time but i keep coming back because it's cheap and down the street from my work. i get charged for add-ons but i never get the add-ons. super simple order. still wrong. not expecting a 5 star meal from TC but i would at least like the rice i ask for. i guess food is food though.
Basically got sold a tortilla. This place has gone through quite a few different crews. The crew that has been there in the mornings for the past couple of months has really dropped the ball. There is almost always something wrong with the order. I always brushed it off. Today, however, I was really in disbelief that they would give me the tacos I order in such a matter. I'm sure not everyone has the same experience. After coming here for years, I think today is what made it the last time I'll be stopping by this location. One of the tacos had maybe two spoonfuls (spoon you eat cereal with), and the other had slightly a little more.
Closed lobby too soon. Really annoying to walk half a mile there to save gas, then have to walk back because its locked and come back in a car anyway. Dumbest thing in the world
Ordered their TC Way breakfast taco box right as they opened. They made us wait over 20 minutes by their front door for them to bring out the food. We were not the only ones having to wait either. Apparently they open at 6 but have nothing prepared for the people that come that early. We finally gave up after seeing cars driving away after they left the drive thru. So we went back through the drive thru to get a refund and saw them handing food out to the cars at the window.
They use to be a decent neighborhood location but they have problems with staff. Not enough staff to run the place, the condiments bar runs out a lot, they get your order mixed up or they can't fill an order because they ran out of ingredients. .The Taco Cabana online ordering system is atrocious. Corporate customer service is non responsive and allows these problems to persist. I have stopped using Taco Cabana and warn people away from this location. It is a shame they are like this.
Went in for lunch today and it took over 20 minutes for me to get my Cabana bowl. There was hardly any other customers there so it's not like they were busy. When I went back up to the counter it seemed that my order was cleared out on the kitchen side. Would have expected some sort of apology or comp/extra for the long wait and mess up, but they didn't offer anything. Once they realized they messed up they did get my food out quickly.
Gave me wilted lettuce on all three tacos best thing I got was the drink. I don't who made them but they don't care.
I just called to place an order for two dozen breakfast tacos.. I tried to online first since it's supposed to be easier. It's not. The man who answered said "you can do this online". I told him I tried but the website is not user friendly if you need to make changes...at least on a mobile phone. He then says "so what do you want?" It's not just what he said but his tone. He didn't answer the phone with good morning...nothing. If he doesn't like his job...get another one. I told him I'd take my business elsewhere where and hung up...and I just don't go for breakfast either. Probably won't hurt their bottom line...but I work hard for my money so when I spend it I don't need to be treated as though they are doing me a favor.
Ordered 3 fajitas beans rice chips and guacamole. Went home ate them and almost immediately started feeling sick. Didn't have a great experience and won't be returning. And yes this was the only thing I had to eat this day and I was felling perfectly fine prior coming except for my hunger of course. I Love Taco Cabana but obviously location matters.
It’s amazing that the employees here haven’t managed to burn the building down by now. Just about as bad as I could imagine a fast food restaurant being. Every time I come here it’s ridiculous how mismanaged and inefficient the experience is. Avoid this place
Not only did staff ignore me as I walked in. Left me waiting at front counter for over 4 mins.. but just was the most unfriendly experience. From all 3 members of staff .. there was not a single person in the restaurant. I will never , spend money here again. Then when I got the food. It was hard and old. Just terrible!
This place is the worst! They are NOT open at 5am! And just like the rest of the reviews.. they have a bad attitude. Their attitude is so bad I will NEVER RETURN.
If I could give it no stars I would. First it took them like 3 minutes to come from the back to even take my order...then the manager is gone argue me down about how my bank works.. then I ordered a quesadilla. They just gave me what they wanted to and would even go by their own menu. With the large quesadilla, it is served with sour cream and guacamole and I ordered extra. First they were gon cheat me out of the side sour cream and guacamole cause I ordered extra and then cheat me of the ones I ordered cause they were only half full. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE.
Took them 20 mins to make me a chicken quesadilla. Come on manning.
It took a very long time for someone to acknowledge us and come to take our order. In fact we stood waiting for 20 minutes just to order. Then it was issue with the card reader for a drive thru order that caused additional delay and they came to the front registers to complete drive thru orders which caused us to further wait even longer. Staff and management was made aware of the issues however nothing was done to accommodate or make an effort to render quality customer for the extensive wait and delays that this location caused upon us. We will be definitely speaking to management regarding this. Not to mention they got the order wrong twice and had to go back and correct these issues with our wrong order. And still nothing done for the inconvenience they caused. Professional development and staff training may be in order to ensure this staff learns how to adequately render quality customer service effectively to guest.
Do you like being given the wrong food? Do you like getting eye rolls when you ask for your correct order? If you love staff being rude while you are speaking normal words in a normal tone just trying to get your food, then boy oh boy this is the place for you. EVERY single time I come here they act like they've never worked and have no idea what they're doing. The food has gone up in price and down in service.
For almost $20, the food had little flavor, other than the sauces, that were full of tomatoes and onions. The refried beans had crunchy bean pieces, as if not cooked all the way, even though they flavor was good. Will think twice before returning to this location.
Food was old beans tortillas and chicken, service was very slow
They always have missing items way over priced and the food is disgusting
This place looks very nice with whatever upgrade they had in the past but I'd say that the food wasnt to satisfying the chips were severely oversalted, condiments were unavailable, and on my chorizo and egg taco I had chunks of what felt and smelt like burnt dog food honestly can't believe I had to pay for this meal wouldn't recommend eating here.
Service was absolutely horrible. I get they were busy with first day of school. But I got up extra early on the first day to get breakfast (work at school). Stood at the counter for a literal 15 minutes and was not attended to. Ended up just walking out. No hello, no sorry for the wait, I would’ve even appreciated a “sorry, come back another time it’s quite busy right now”. Or, “sorry you may want to reconsider, the waits gonna be a while”. Instead they just wasted my time and offered poor/no service.
Employees yelling crazily in the back. Took me 8 minutes to get attended at the register and there was no one at the line.
So first let me say the rice was so Bland absolutely no flavor and of course that's a majority of what they put in their taco bowls. Next the gentleman working at the counter talking on a cell phone discussing how he came in at 5:00 a.m. and he was the only one there for 2 hours about how five stores depend on him and he's got to be the one they call honestly nobody needs to hear that and nobody cares. If he's the one that made the rice somebody needs to teach him what a little salt and seasoning can do, the meat was dry almost like it was leftover from the day before and microwaved. Lastly the food was cold and we dined in. THANKFULLY we don't live close to this location! If you want a good meal don't go to this Taco Cabana
Today I visited taco cabana and the afternoon manager, a hunched elderly lady, was very rude to me and didn't want to sell me boxes of dozens of tacos.I wanted 4 tacos with beans and cheese, 4 chorizo and egg, and 4 bacon and egg in each box. she said that only sells those in the mornings and I always go in the afternoon and they sell it to me. and she didn't wanted to take my order after she left vaping and blowing smoke all over the place. update 10/17/2025 Terrible service. I decided to give Taco Cabana a second chance and once again I was disappointed at lunchtime. It took them a long time to make my order and it was wrong. I'll have to call corporate so they can pay more attention to that store.
I had a catering order for pick up by 830. When I arrived people are waiting around there’s no one in the front and when I told them my name they said they were working on it. 20 mins after waiting I asked about my pick up and they had no clue. Checked their email and saw the order I made the previous day. I can’t depend on this location again I’m 25 mins late because of the mismanagement.
It would’ve been ok, but we disturbed the young female cashier from her phone when we ordered, and she had to rush us to order so that she could get back to her phone. I’m sure it was totally our fault. And then to top it off a door dasher came in and disturbed her again, thankfully the door dasher was courteous enough to wait ten minutes for her to get to the counter and help her. Then our food came out, after an extremely long wait. We must have disturbed what the cook had been doing also. And sadly, we even asked him to go back and get the guacamole that they’d forgotten. I feel so bad for having pulled them away from their phones so that I could purchase and eat food here, that I’ll probably never go back and do it again. I hope they can find it in their hearts to not hate me for the horrible experience I caused them to go through. I’ll never forget it.
Might be the worst TC location in Austin. The employees are slow, have a don't care attitude, could not answer basic questions about TC and the menu. The fries are literally one thied the size of other TC locations, for the same price and they are not apologetic about it at all, in fact they might even be a lottle proud of it and I have heard from others that their Margaritas are premixed in a slushy machine and lack the punch. AVOID.
The person at drive through is always nice but the quality of food is terrible. The picture shows what is supposed to be a bean, bacon, and potato taco. There are only 2 pieces of potato in this taco. The corn tortilla is very hard. I hardly received anything in the potato and egg taco. It was basically just a tortilla. I keep giving this location a chance because it is a convenient location for me and the person at the drive through is very nice in the mornings. However, the quality of food is terrible every time.
