I've been here since I was 8 year olds and will never stop coming here. I will be taking my yet born children with me here until I turn over. 10/10 always fresh!
Hey, everybody I just want to let all know. This is a great place to eat out in nice vibes great atmosphere. I had the tripas tacos and Chicharron. It's awesome because you can either get the tripas soft or crispy. (Soft) my friend had the chiles red with a set of pancakes. All of it was phenomenal. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place. The coffee was also great here.
I usually get the spicy shrimp platter or the shrimp chile rellenos. Takes me back to my childhood/teenage years. So delish! Great service too. Homey local atmosphere.
My wife and I come here probably once a week on our off days. This place hit the spot every time! I always get the same thing. Every time we leave I tell my wife “I think I’m INLOVE with this place” lol . The ladies are very friendly every single time. Service is consistent and I’m not someone that write reviews but I love the food here. I will recommend this place to family members out of town. But only this location. Not every taqueria Arandas is the same. Thankfully it’s local owned and always gives the best results ✨
Excellent, authentic and rarity foods are the best. My waitress, she was so helpful, kind and deserved at least a 50 for her tip! enjoy Español comida at decent prices! I know I did! At this location on s. 1st and oltorf rd. Here in good old Austin, Texas!! Ty for an excellent experience!!! I really enjoyed my lunch! I believe I have some photos of my food right here!
Visiting the area and I asked a Mexican Woman where she would recommend a local mom and pops type of restaurant…a whole in the wall to where the food is made with love. She recommended this specific location…I guess there’s others but she stated this location was the one. I looked at the menu and nothing caught my eye. I asked the waitress if they make Sopes and even though it is not on the menu, they do make it and I couldn’t be any happier. My daughter went with the Tacos de Asada Plate and she really enjoyed it. Now I forget when you come in they give you the chips and salsa…their salsa was one of the best we’ve had! It was PERFECT my daughter couldn’t stop raving about it. Let me not forget, the customer service is great!!!
Mexican food, fresh, simple. The queso isn't too spicy for our kiddo. Prices are a la cart mostly. Entire bill will come to about $25 for family of 3, with sodas and appetizer. The South 1st and W Stassney locations are the ones we regularly frequent. Our ultimate favorite restaurants I think.
It's really more a three and a half star than anything. Fine, but not great. Got Carne gusada on flour and shredded chicken on flour. The Gusada was better than it looked, since it looked like bologna chunks, instead of beef. Tasted OK, only moderately tender. It's a no It's really more a three and a half star than anything. Fine, but not great. The chicken was better. Seasoned well. Substantial portion. $3.50 for each and two was a meal. Where it really fell short were the floor tortillas. Thickness was fine, but they didn't try to warm or crisp them up at all. Bland. Will try again for breakfast.
Was looking for real Mexican tasting food and found it here. Tried other "mexican" or tex mex places near by but food is not authentic. Service was good. The burrito Guadalajara was good. So were the nachos. Favorite part was the queso dip. it was a delicious dip, so much we ordered seconds. Would def return.
I Got the chilaquilles and my wife tried the guiso plate. She’s never had mole so we went with a single mole chicken enchilada to try. Got the red and green sauces and was an excellent dish to go with. My wife’s guiso was more liquidy than the usual thicker stewy texture we were looking for. The meat was a little dry but wasn’t terrible. The mole chicken enchilada was great! Their horchata is delicious!!!!!!!!! I can’t emphasize enough how good their horchata is!
Took my friends to dinner on Wednesday. The chips and salsa are good! They both ordered the enchiladas one beef and one chicken dinner. They both enjoyed their meals. I asked the server about the mole. She said it was good so I ordered the Mole enchiladas. I overheard some discussion from the kitchen and I think they didn't have more or something. My limited Spanish. The dish took more time while my friend's were eating so I guess they had to make some mole. It was not very good! The enchiladas were smaller than my friends and had little meat inside. The sauce was not reminiscent of moles in the past. Disappointed e ordered a carne guidada taco. The meat was tender but the sauce was off. The margaritas were large and good. I had not been to this Taqueria Arandas before but I had enjoyed other locations in the past.
I ordered the GUADALAJARA BURRITO & on the DESCRIPTION it says, "Any CHOICE of BEEF." So I asked the WAITRESS if BISTEK was INCLUDED w/the PRICE & she said "Yes". NOT sure if her name is LUZ or MICHEL, but the CASHIER (MIDDLE age LADY in her 50s) was charging me EXTRA 4 the BISTEK when the MENU & the WAITRESS said it was INCLUDED in the $12.75 GUADALAJARA plate. The MIDDLE age LADY DIDN'T want 2 HONOR the PRICE LISTED on the MENU & the SAME PRICE the WAITRESS gave ME. The WAITRESS was NICE ENOUGH 2 try 2 give me BK the $2 EXTRA dlls the CASHIER CHARGED me...that RIGHT THERE is GOOD CS (trying 2 HONOR WHAT is LISTED on the MENU & WHAT was TOLD by the WAITRESS herself). The CASHIER LADY had the AUDACITY 2 tell that WAITRESS 2 NOT give me the $2 dlls. she INTENDED 2 give me. I EVEN told the MIDDLE AGE LADY that the WAITRESS was DOING the RIGHT THING & she DON'T KNOW how 2 treat CUSTOMERS. I DIDN'T take the $2 from the WAITRESS, it WAS the BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITY 2 HONOR what's LISTED (in DETAIL) ON the MENU.
I came here for the first time just to have some chicken soup. The soup was hot — obviously — and since it made my nose run, I went to the restroom to blow my nose. I was gone for maybe two minutes, and when I came back, my food was gone. They had cleared my entire table like I had left the restaurant. Nobody asked, nobody checked, nothing. That’s ridiculous. What kind of service is that? I’ve never had such a bad experience as a first-time customer. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
I have been before and it was good, but today was so horrible! I’ve never experienced this much disregard for a customer service before. I placed an order Togo for Menudo and got pozole, the meat was so bland and no flavor, tastes like they threw in salsa. I tried calling to get my money back or a new order asking to speak to the manager they immediately hung up on me, I could hear the phone slam down to hang up. I called again expressing how upset I am that I didn’t receive the correct order. I just want my money back or a new order for paying over $20.
Smell from outside the restaurant smelt good but as soon as I got in I could tell the good smell wasn’t from this place. I came in for a breakfast plate and it was nasty. My fried eggs were drenched in grease. Small nats and flies were spotted through out the dining room so you know they are in the kitchen too. Waiter acted brand new. Would bring my plate to the table and ask me if everything is correct with all my food drenched in grease. Food is 7-8$ a plate and the quality definitely shows. The toilet has been my friend all day after leaving …..Will not be back at all . Gross 🤮
