Forever my amazing place for seafood! My favorite is the chargrilled aguachile, and the candidate, even though it only has two shrimp 🫣 Moderately affordable prices, but I think we could improve the appearance of the place. Other than that, everything is incredible ✨ Waitress Michelle, super nice service. And Chef Edgar (Gary) is top-notch, as always!
A truly remarkable place, known for its style, comfort, and excellent service. A good variety of food. It had been recommended to me and it exceeded my expectations. The dishes are beautifully presented, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable—even inexpensive for the quality. They even let you choose the spiciness level of your aguachile. This kind of service is much appreciated; it's well done and executed.
DELICIOUS IS AN ESSENTIAL! I had a tuna tostada (Barrio Nuevo), a green aguachile tostada (Nexpa), a fish strip tostada with tiger's milk (Peñitas), a soft shrimp taco (Bufadora de Camarón), and a drunken taco, which is a drowned taco (San Glas). The place is very cozy and pretty, but I was absolutely delighted with the food. Highly recommended 👌🏼
The food is delicious, with a good variety of dishes. I recommend the octopus sope, the Santa Clara torta (with carne apache), and their aguachiles are generally excellent. It's a bit out of the way, but if you're in the area or want to try something different, it's a good option. The service is very attentive and friendly, although a little slow. I recommend you double-check your order because they don't always write things down.
Everything at this place is delicious and very reasonably priced. The only downside is that the kitchen closes very early (around 6:30 or a little later, depending on how busy it is). On the other hand, the place has few tables and is very popular. This means that sometimes you have to wait or stand in line. The recommendation is to try everything. The issue is that sometimes there's no parking nearby, which can be a safety concern, although it's not the restaurant's fault.
The food is delicious, but the service is poor even though the food was already ready. The waiters take a long time even though it's not crowded, which is something they need to improve.
The place is fine, the prices are good. I ordered a sope barrio nuevo, which according to the menu is sautéed octopus. They gave me cooked octopus like the ones they use for cocktails, meaning cold, with pork rinds, I hope; which indicates that quality and service aren't their thing. Then I ordered a taco bucerías, the consommé was lukewarm, bordering on cold. Again, attention to detail, the taco was average. Basic service.
It was our first time visiting. We found the food delicious, the service good, but the wait time for a dish is excessive: 45 minutes for a couple of tostadas. We found it tasteless that they served another table first, who arrived after us but were apparently acquaintances or friends of the owner(s). It's sad that instead of highlighting how delicious the food is, it highlights the poor service. We commented to one of the servers, and he responded, "The chef doesn't mind changing that." I don't know if we'd return or recommend it.
Nice place, good service, good music, and cold beers. I just wouldn't go back because of the food. I think they need to improve in that area. The tostadas were loaded with onions and had very little seafood, too much seasoning, and too salty. It's only a place to go for a beer and hang out.
Very slow service; there was only one waitress for the whole place. A small cockroach crawled out from under my toast. I asked for a replacement, but they gave me the same one back on the same plate (I know because the plate had a fingerprint I made). I completely lost my appetite, but I ate what I had already ordered. Oh, and the pineapple water was super, super sweet.
I'm here to strongly advise against going to this place. It took two hours for our food to arrive, and they couldn't even get our drinks quickly. It took half an hour to get more drinks, and the food finally arrived after two hours. Besides, the food seemed like they'd given us leftovers. We ordered some bufadora tacos, and the breading wasn't done properly, plus there was very little fish in each. The other dishes also had small portions. Terrible service, bad food, and a very cramped atmosphere.
There were three waitresses with only six diners around. They forgot one of the drinks for about 20 minutes. There's no drinks menu, but they only offer brand-name sodas. They also forgot to order one of the sandwiches. The service was friendly, but one of the waitresses was on her cell phone the whole time. I canceled my food order and a drink because they forgot to order it. The food is still very good, but the service is beyond terrible. It's a shame the place is in decline.
