The undisputed heartbeat of Avenue A where the Latin energy never dips. Yuca Bar isn't just a restaurant; it’s an East Village institution that has survived every trend because it stays authentic to its vibrant, high-energy roots. Whether you're here for the legendary weekend brunch or a late-night cocktail, it feels like a neighborhood block party that never ends. • The Happy Hour Hack: Their Happy Hour is one of the best in the area, often running until 8 PM. It is the perfect 'pre-game' spot before heading deeper into the East Village. • Seating Logistics: The entrance is on Avenue A, but the real secret is the sidewalk café on 7th Street. On a warm NYC evening, this is the premier people-watching real estate in the city. • The Mandatory Order: You can't call yourself a regular without the Guacamole (made fresh with Latin chips) and the Yuca Croquetas stuffed with shrimp sofrito. If you're here for brunch, the Huevos Benedictos with a Latin twist is a game-changer. • The Late Night Transition: On Fridays and Saturdays, it stays open until 4 AM. It transforms from a bustling bistro into a high-energy lounge with a live Spanish orchestra or DJs. If you want to talk, come early; if you want to dance, come after 11 PM. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and it’s colorful, exactly what an East Village Latin fusion spot should be.
Samuel was the bartender and he did a great job. Amazing customer service! I will be coming here again and inviting my friends and family!
We had so much fun. We never had to wait on an order! The servers were amazing and the drinks were even better… $9 happy hour till 8pm! Come check it out
Absolutely amazing spot. Gorgeous interior, reminiscent of Latin America. The waiters were incredibly attentive, and I mean incredible, plus all of them were so lovely. Especially the waitress who constantly had the brightest smile on her face and helped us choose cocktails. We only went for drinks but the guac and chips were delish, as they use a mix of root vegetables and plantain. Happy hour is from 12-8pm so you really do get a great deal! You need to try their mojitos & frozen margaritas - they do NOT skimp on the alcohol. As a kind gesture, we even got a round of shots on the house. Must visit, don’t even hesitate. Voy a ir otra vez por supuesto y lo recomendare a todos mis amigos!
Amazing customer service from the bartender Pablo Garcia! Super nice and makes great drinks. Would come here again just for him!
Went here for a friends birthday over the weekend and it was great. Food and drinks were delicious. We also stayed until it turned into the Latin party which is fun with good music. Only complaint is the music being so loud you can’t really talk during the dinner hours before the Latin night started. Will be back soon!
Great service, music was such a vibe. And my gosh the FOOD AND DRINKS WERE TOP NOTCH. defitniely coming back. Just a great vibe for food and dancing
Came here for a cousins night out and it was a great decision! We made a reservation for dinner and stayed afterwards for drinks. The food was great, Tapas were a great portion to share. Food came out so fast! Drinks were delicious, different flavors of margaritas, all delicious. Alicia our waitress was on top of us making sure we had drinks and that our orders were put in for food. She was lovely! The showgirls were beautiful and great dancers! We will definitely be back!
It was a cold and rainy evening, but my friends and I stumbled upon this bar, and we enjoyed ourselves. So much that we wished we would have found it sooner that evening because they closed at 10 on a Wednesday. We had several drinks, and they were all good. To eat all we had were Yuca fries and chips with guacamole. It's simple yet so satisfying. We will be going again very soon.
Everything was really good, especially the food. But what made the experience even better was Pablo super attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we were okay. Great service and a great vibe. Would definitely come back! :)
The bottomless brunch was a deal with a fairly large-sized portions and delicious food. Our server made sure we were never empty despite having a party of 8. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, perfect for a weekend brunch. The decorations were stunning, with a beautiful Latin-inspired theme. The combination of great food, attentive service, and a beautiful setting made for a great brunch experience.
We came for a fun moms' night with a group of 9 to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and what a treat! Most of us hadn’t been before, so we went all in and shared a big spread of tapas. Here’s what we loved (and a few we weren’t as crazy about): Espresso BBQ "Costillitas" (slow-roasted ribs) – The clear winner! So tender, the meat practically fell off the bone. A bit sweeter than expected, but still delicious. Mejillones al Tequila (mussels with garlic bread) – The lobster broth was rich and flavorful, and the garlic bread was perfect for dipping. Just wish there had been a few more mussels! Pinchos Variados (skewers of chicken, beef, and chorizo) – Perfectly seasoned with a fun selection of dipping sauces. Taquitos de Carne (skirt steak tacos) – Fine, but a little bland compared to everything else. Just pico de gallo on top. Arepa con Carne (corn cake with beef) – Cute, but smaller and less exciting than the others. Service was friendly and quick, and the location is surrounded by lively bars, so the fun didn’t stop when we stepped outside!
Ambiance and decor ✅ Service and hospitality ✅Cynthia and Pedro were fabulous assisted with executing a birthday surprise for my dear friend we decided to pop in for a Monday afternoon service and although it’s hard to decipher b/c we caught them during a less busy hour the service and staff was super friendly went above and beyond for my friend and I ! Ensured that we had a great time and we had the bottlemess mimosas which I can attest were decent for the price point of 22$ basically purchasing the bottle which I find fair ! The food was tasty and well prepared ! Well def be coming back !!
Such good food & drinks! Valeria was so sweet and attentive. My friends and I had such a great Taco Tuesday!
Great brunch special, the staff was friendly and polite. The food was really good, we all had the steak and eggs. Everyone that came to our table was very attentive.
Bartenders are super nice and communicative. My friend and I were looking for a seat and once two opened up they cleared it and directed us over. Also amazing cocktails
Samuel was an excellent bartender! Super attentive, funny, and made the whole experience even better. Great service all around.
Had an amazing experience here thanks to Genesis! She was super attentive, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She checked in at the right times & made great menu suggestions. Definitely ask for Genesis if you come here, she’s the kind of server that turns a regular meal into a memorable one.
Been here several times. One of my go to spots. The food is always so good! Staff is always super attentive and nice. Will 100% be back soon!
This place is AMAZING. Nice vibe. Food is exquisite. Jose took good care of us and was delightful. We tried a few dishes and it was all so good. My favorite was the Plátano Relleno
As usual everytime I come here, Im treated like family. Thank you so very much for another great experience, Pablo made me feel very welcome, and I will definitely take my friend here to surprise her for her birthday, I found out there is dancing here at times. I will definitely be reaching out to surprise my friend with something for her birthday, since she is full of energy and loves to dance💃 As always I enjoyed my delicious coconut Mojito, which I tell everyone that will listen about these delicious mojitos with sugar cane which really adds a special touch. As usual another top notch experience. Thank you!!!!! BTW I found out that they make delicious non alcoholic drinks as well...
Just had the most amazing meal. Our server Paulina was so friendly and had the best recommendations for food. This is a special place. Great community, great food and service. Definitely visit! Oh and great Margaritas!!
Samuel is such a welcoming spirit. My friends and I came to have dinner tonight and took care of us. High vibrational human being. Went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. Shoutout to Samuel. We’ll be coming back again!
Love Pablo Garcia. He is so nice and friendly and has exceptional customer service. He also makes the perfect drinks. Come here!
Paulina was a wonderful server. She made amazing recommendations! The food was awesome. Service was fun, friendly and welcoming. A delightful experience. Kudos to Paulina!! 5 stars for her
Amazing place and cool vibes! Pablo Garcia definitely my fav bartender… he was very attentive, amazing drinks and such a great personality!
I was surprised to find a happy hour on a Saturday night, a pitcher of sangria for $47 was amazing! The food was well-seasoned, but the best part of the night was the service. Dariana made me feel welcome and comfortable, and her recommendations were excellent. I ordered the paella, the red sangria was good, and the fried calamari were my favorite.
Yuri was amazing!!! Made us feel welcomed from the start. The food was amazing I highly recommend the guac n chips! Super flavorful. The night life after is such a good time, I will definitely be back <3
Relax relaxing and artsy interior. Perfect for a date or a chill food break with friends. The servers are friendly. The food is really cooked carefully (ordered medium meat and the meat was pink all across and still has its juiciness). They also offer good happy hour deals! Highly recommended
Yuca Bar & Restaurant in the East Village is a gem for Latin cuisine lovers. From the moment you walk in, the friendly and welcoming staff make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, and perfect for an enjoyable dining experience. The drinks here are consistently excellent, and the happy hour deals are worth checking out. For appetizers, we ordered the ceviche, which was beautifully presented in a coconut shell—a thoughtful and creative touch. For entrées, the Pulpo a la Parrilla (grilled octopus) was outstanding—one of the best I’ve ever had! The Salmon Brasil was also delicious and well-prepared. Another highlight is the live Spanish orchestra some nights, performing traditional Latin music, which adds a lively and authentic vibe to the experience. Overall, I loved everything about Yuca Bar & Restaurant—from the food to the drinks, to the ambiance. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone in the East Village looking for exceptional Latin cuisine and a warm, vibrant atmosphere.
I love coming here with my girlfriend. Every time I visit new york I make an effort to pass by and this time around our waiter Jose did a phenomenal job. I can recommend both the restaurant and his service to anyone. 10/10
It was an exceptional culinary experience! The South American food and the decoration of the restaurant is incredible, transporting me straight to the heart of the continent with authentic flavors and generous portions. Every bite was a journey. The staff is incredibly attentive, always responsive and ready to meet all our needs. I wanted to thank again the staff for this wonderful dinner, we felt cared for with love 🥰
This is such a fun and delicious spot! A friend and I spent our happy hour here and had delicious churrasco steak, yucca fries, and honestly my favorite: a truly authentic CAIPIRINHA! Cute colorful vibes. And Dariana, our server, was fast and fantastic. Thank you!
Yuri was our server, she was amazing fast and patient and her vibes were everything. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, Yuca Bar is definitely a spot I would come back to and recommend to anyone looking for good food, good vibes, and great drinks in the city.
Pablo’s fine self took care of me 😍 he was so attentive and detail oriented. Drinks were so good too. I would come back to this spot just for him, he has amazing service and I’m glad I came in to check the place out cause I ended up having an amazing experience. The funnest, most handsome bartender I’ve ever had. 10/10 experience
Valeria was amazing! She made sure we were good at all times. We felt very well taken care of. Thank you for the great service! Will definitely be coming back for more delicious food!
had such an incredible experience at this club! From the moment we walked in, the energy was unmatched. The vibe is absolutely electric — great music, an amazing crowd, and the perfect atmosphere to just let loose and enjoy the night.Great drinks, amazing staff
This place was amazing! Food was super delicious. We ordered the Platano Relleno, Arepitas del Caribe, Empanadas & Churrasquinhos. All plates were absolutely delicious! Will definitely come back on my next visit to NY. Our server Jose was very kind, polite, knowledgeable and answered all our questions.
Great spot to grab drinks and yummy food with the girls or on a date. We went on a Monday and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The atmosphere was a vibe, the music was great, and the food was even better. The staff was also very friendly.
Had an amazing experience at Yuca Bar & Restaurant. The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was vibrant without being overwhelming. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Pablo Garcia. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made the entire experience stand out. He made us feel welcomed, taken care of, and comfortable from start to finish. Service like that doesn’t go unnoticed. Highly recommend!
My wife and I were introduced to Yuca Bar & Restaurant a several months back from a friend. We both loved it and we've been going back frequently ever since. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious, they have awesome drinks and they have such a welcoming atmosphere! We were served by Oscar a few times. He is courteous and has a great personality. Can't wait to go back soon!
Pablo Garcia made the experience at the bar amazing! He was friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in what he does. From great drink recommendations to making sure everyone felt welcomed and taken care of, his service really stood out.
Had lunch celebrating 25 years of best friendship with my bestie from Florida. . Cynthia started us out with the best drinks. Bestie had a margarita with salt and I had the coconut margarita with tajin. Absolutely stellar. Pablo took over for her and he was so great! The food was outstanding we had the calamari, the croquetas and the Arepas Benedict with salmon. Not my first time here, won't be my last. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend
My family hosted a birthday lunch here for me. We were a large group of 15 people. The staff was fantastic. The food was as equally amazing. Cocktails were also delicious. I have already recommended this location to people. I will definitely return to this restaurant.
I had an amazing experience at Yuca Restaurant. The food was full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly prepared every dish felt like real comfort with a touch of elegance. But what really made the night special was our waitress, Valeria She was attentive, friendly and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her energy and professionalism made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot, and if you go, make sure to ask for Valeria she’ll take great care of you. 🙌🏽🔥
Love this place, I've been coming here for over 10 years and its changed looks but food is still delish and so is service. Valeria was amazing and on point even though she was waiting on all the tables (and it was busy). We went on a Thursday and got both tapas special. Chef's kiss 💋... amazing and filling for 2 plp... plus some grace. Thumbs up Yuca Bar once again 👍
Thank you Yucca bar & Valeria for a wonderful experience. We came after a really big service catering gig and were warmly welcomed and Valeria accommodated us so well!! Warm and toasty temperature inside perfect for the freezing weather outside, the drinks for happy hours were SO GOOD especially for the price (I had mango margarita and 2 coconut mojitos) and it reminded me of Mexico and back home in the Caribbean. Music was also lit. Saw you guys on TikTok and been meaning to come so it was perfect. ♡ will be back again
I come here all the time, and the food is always good. What’s a plus is that on Sundays and Mondays, they have 50% off all tapas. We got the yuca croquettes and Philly cheesesteak arepas. So delicious! And of course, I couldn’t leave without my favorite Cubano sandwich. Darianna was amazing and friendly.
I had another wonderful experience at Yuca Bar! The food was absolutely delicious, I ordered the churrasquinho with rice and tostones, and every bite was packed with flavor. The waiter was so attentive and friendly, which made the meal even better. I always enjoy coming here, and this visit was no exception. Definitely one of my go-to spots, and I’ll keep coming back!
Loved this place. I had been here a few years back. They did a lovely renovation to the restaurant. The art work is very nice. The space is vibrant. They have a great Happy Hour. The service is very good. The drinks are very good. Their food is equally delicious. I will definitely be back.
Yuka Bar in the East Village is a fantastic spot with delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’m a big fan of Spanish cuisine, and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the ceviche, grilled octopus, and the plantains with beef—all incredibly tasty and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for great food in a cozy, vibrant setting, I highly recommend Yuka Bar!
Cozy vibes and yummy drinks. My girlfriends and I had the best time. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating.

Great little place! We came for brunch and had a lovely time! Perfect weather on Labor Day weekend!
Come to Yuca for happy hour, you won't regret it! Bartender Pablo (Dominican guy) is amazing and took care of us all night! Highly recommend!

This is the third time visiting Yuca Bar and each time has been a great experience. The music is great, food is good and overall a good time. They have good specials on drinks and tapas. The ambiance is very trendy and cozy.
Great food and even better service! Our server Yuri was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable. Would definitely come back!
Honestly the starters / tapas are great bang for buck. And a happy hour every day till 8 are you kidding me? Great music, fast service, and awesome location to pregame before going out in the lower east. And I’d come back tomorrow. Side note: my friends thought the tacos were just fine, but the octopus now we talking
Strolled in during happy hour on a Friday around 4 and had a delicious affordable steak quesadilla snack and wine. Very welcoming, pleasant, and prompt service on this quiet Friday afternoon.
Fun spot with plantains to die for. The fish tacos tasted good but mostly because it was fried fish with a lot of mayo. Had a good time and would return again.
Came here with a friend on a beautiful September afternoon. Sat inside and got some Happy Hour drinks . I think the frozen or regular Margarita was $7 and $2 extra for flavor. I got a coconut frozen Margarita with tajin which made it a bit spicy. My friend enjoyed his regular Margarita. The best drink was the frozen Caipirinha with lime and mint . Wow ! That is delicious. Also had guacamole and chips with 3 different colors of chips . Pretty tasty and came with Pico de Gallo too. Staff are extremely friendly and cool . This is a lively place with a great Latin soundtrack. Probably good for Birthday parties too . I was here at 3pm on a Friday and Happy Hour was in effect (even at the tables. )
A good experience for sure… good customer service and food was seasoned well… drinks were nice as well.. Had the chicken empanadas, French fries, two salmon dinners and yuca tai drinks and mule. Don’t have pic of the chicken empanadas but they were tasty they cut the empanada into four pieces. The two sauces provided that orange one is so good not sure what it was either forgot to ask!! Think the bathroom needs a change but everything else was great The waitress was so cute she gave two shots because it was anniversary
The espresso martini looks adorable! I came here for brunch with friends and had a lovely time.

When I was younger, I used to come here more frequently, the menu and price point has definitely changed. The place is still absolutely packed and extremely popular. I had a mixed experience, the staff is super nice and helpful, the pulpo was excellent, the plantains very good, the fajita @ 29$ was flat in flavor. I ordered the frozen margarita, and I think it was a tad too sweet and light on the rum. All in all, coming here you won't be totally disappointed if you're looking for a place to drink, very lively and fully packed, but if you're looking for great culinary flavors, it won't hit high marks.
This review will be biased. I had often patronized the Yuca bar back in the days from about 2005-2010. It was then the food was amazingly savory and you could not go wrong with anything on the menu. The atmosphere was electrifying and the bar area was a major attraction causing standing room only all through out the restaurant. That was then. Revisiting it in the summer of 2024 was a contrast. The menu has been trimmed down shockingly. The atmosphere is chill which I like. The food items ordered was okay and a little salty. The drinks menu, although also minimized, was still tasty and strong. It’s no longer overcrowded- a plus. It’s no longer super cold within the interior dining area- a plus. The music is no longer blaring out of the speakers - a plus! The menu options are minimized- a minus.
The food and atmosphere here are both very nice. Most of the food was flavorful and well-prepared — the ceviches were especially delicious, full of vibrant flavor. The drinks were also great. However, I would not recommend the guacamole. It was literally just mashed avocado — no onion, tomato, cilantro, or seasoning. Very bland and disappointing compared to everything else we had. We did have an issue with the service. We ordered another appetizer that never arrived, and about 55 minutes into our meal, the waiter came by and asked if we were going to order anything else. We were still eating and drinking, so I assumed maybe the kitchen was closing, but it was only 7:30 PM. When I said we weren’t ready to order more at that moment, he cleared our table — and then told us we couldn’t order anything else because the table was reserved for someone else. This was very confusing and disappointing, especially since the restaurant was still more than half empty. We had ordered a lot, and I had planned to order another drink, possibly dessert. Instead, we were rushed out in a very unprofessional way. It left a bad impression, and while the food (aside from the guacamole) was excellent, this experience really changed how I feel about coming back. I ended up going to another nearby spot to finish the night. It’s a shame, because I genuinely enjoyed the food and drinks, but the service made it hard to want to return.
The service was okay. I gave it a 3-star rating because I have been here before and have gotten better service than this. The atmosphere was loud, and it felt like I was screaming the whole time. It was a hot Friday afternoon with no fan or AC. I usually order a coconut mojito, but I decided to order something different and was unsatisfied. The food did not disappoint; it was delicious and cooked well. The yucca fries do not disappoint. Our waitress told us we only had an hour and 30 minutes; however, it was not busy besides a few tables around us.
I went in on a Thursday for dinner by myself, I'm in town for work for a month. Ordered the enchiladas l, they were good. Should have came with rice and beans though....waitress tells me that they have club night on Fridays, I show up the following Friday for club night. Bouncer wouldn't let me in because I was by myself! He said I couldn't come in unless I had a group waiting for me! Don't tell your dining guest to come by for club night if you're not going to treat them the same!!'
I like the music, the DJs, the food, just can’t stand the owner. I’ve seen him talk to the DJs and dude I would never work for him. The place is fun though and the food is good, however, there’s always a big line for the bathroom and a line to get in that could have you waiting 1-2 hours min (the cover is 20$ and for events it’s 40$ like last Halloween). Do you have fun? Yeah, is it worth it? I’d say as long as you’re already pregamed. Honest review.
Not Afro-Latino/Black friendly. I would love to rate this place higher because I do believe it’s a nice cute space to interact with people of many cultures. I can’t speak for the food so I will speak on the nightlife they attempt to curate. It is very clear that Yuca cares more about the service they provide to “their” people. Once the servers and bodyguards found out I spoke Spanish, the treatment changed. Prior to that, I was told I needed to remove myself from the premises for wearing a headband (my hair was out), to which the bodyguard called a Durag and kept harassing me to take it off. The point he attempted to make was that there was a dress code to be followed. I understand that dress codes are a thing, to which I followed but I had to point out that there was a woman that night wearing dirty sweatpants (which are against their dress code). As much as I’d hate to believe that this was targeting, it sure felt that way. I politely told the bodyguard that I’ve paid an entry fee and my partner and I already bought drinks. If dress code was an issue, it should’ve been enforced at the door. Second, I went with a group of my girls and my partner. They were charged a small fee for entry while I was charged double. I’m not exactly sure the reason. My friends were charged $10 and I was charged $25. I wasn’t made aware of the difference until after. Third, we all know getting drinks at the bar can be hectic so I didn’t mind a small wait for the waiter to notice I was there or grab his attention. Every time I attempted to order, he would instead grab orders from other people who were pushing up behind me and were speaking to him in Spanish. It wasn’t until I spoke Spanish myself that the server became pleased with me and then I never waited for a drink after that. I understand that in our culture we take care of our own first. As an Afro-Latina, I was disappointed in Yuca for treating me and many others the way they do. I was clearly looked over and targeted because of the color of my skin and I will not support Yuca any longer. I’m sure they will still thrive without my money. On the plus side, the bathroom is cute.
The music was really good! That’s all though. They manufacture hype by refusing to let people in from the line in a timely manner, meaning that people who show up before 11 are let in after 11 and forced to pay the cover. It’s $20 plus $4 for a mandatory coat check. “VIP”s are able to cut the line for the only bathroom they have. There was no reason for the bathroom to be that unclean and out of toilet paper at just 11:30. Just go to Bembe in Williamsburg. Music is great but this isn’t worth it.
This place is only recommended on Happy Hour since its until 8pm everyday and after 11pm vibes. The food was eh but what was really repulsive was the aggressive manner on how they removed the chairs and table after our dinner when they switch to night mode at 10:30pm -10:45pm. They should be honest with themselves and their patronages and close the kitchen at 9pm, last seating 8pm for a more pleasant experience.
Horrible service, extremely rude\nDo not go here, bad vibes. Weak drinks. \nWould not recommend

I had a really disappointing and upsetting experience at Yuca Bar recently. One of the men working there (or possibly a regular—unclear) was blatantly homophobic and incredibly mean to me. It made what should have been a fun, relaxed time feel unsafe and unwelcoming. Yuca Bar has a lively atmosphere and a great location, but it’s 2025—no one should have to tolerate that kind of hate or hostility, especially in New York City. I hope the management takes steps to ensure all guests feel safe and respected, because right now, that’s not the case. Until things change, I won’t be returning and can’t recommend it to anyone in the LGBTQ+ community or allies.
I came with a group of girls for a friend’s birthday (just going out). We arrived at 10:30pm, and there was no line outside. However, we were held at the door, in 20 degree weather, for 15+ minutes as we watched the security guard let people out and people on “vip” in. After being allowed in, finally, we were all charged 20 dollars at the door and 4 for coat check (I don’t think I’ve ever paid $20 at the door for a place like this…). After paying $24 cash, I asked where I could find coat check and I was told that it was not ready yet. I waited an hour to be able to check my coat. And when I tried ordering a drink at the bar, it was so hard to get any of the bartenders’ attentions as they were all deep in conversation. I could make a better drink at home. Lastly, the music was boring and only got better after two hours which at that point we were all ready to leave. (We only stayed because we paid $24)
They tried to steal my buddies hat. All of the securities were on on it. But we saw it behind the bar and they tried to play it off. Do not trust these guys. If they steal something as simple as a hat. I would not put it past them to steal more expensive things… Do yourself a favor and do not come Here
