First time trying yesterday and it was phenomenal. I tried the Margherita and I loved it. Will definitely be going back. I was craving New York style and hit the spot.
If you're searching for the best pizza in town, look no further than Hysen's Nizza Pizza. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The star of the experience, aside from the incredible pizza, was meeting Hysen himself. Hysen was not only busy bringing out food and cleaning tables, but he also took the time to chat with us, sharing stories about how he started cooking for his mom, which eventually led to opening this amazing pizzeria. His passion for his craft is evident in every bite—the pizza was hands down the best I've ever had. Hysen’s humble and genuine nature adds a special touch to the already fantastic food. If you haven’t visited yet, make it a priority. This place is a gem, and Hysen’s warmth and dedication make it shine even brighter. Highly recommended!
First time there and children love the pizza. if you are looking for a crispy and fresh toppings this is the place to go. I noticed also that they have good deals for parties when you need 10 or more pizzas. It is a little bit far from home but definitely will be one of the places that I will be visiting or recommend to friends. I think that the price is very affordable for the quality. Service was very good and place very clean.
I remember when Hysen's opened. Even though they've updated the interior, their quality of food still reigns supreme. One of the few Italian restaurants you can visit to find spicy Italian food. I used to get the chicken a la vodka, until one day I decided to try the chicken Murphy, and now it's all I eat there. So good. So spicy. Never a long wait even when it's busy, their lunch specials are great, and the service is always nice.
Bang for your buck! I ordered the calzone which was able to shared with my four friends, I believe all single plates give you enough for it to be shared. The portions are massive and the flavor isn’t compromised, each bite was fantastic! Our server was so attentive and sweet, will definitely be back. I think it a great place to come with friend if you want to share plates or by yourself to have adequate leftovers to enjoy! I came back again of course with my family, and Amy’s service was amazing!!! She made sure everything was great, that the food was enjoyed, and the table cleared to accommodate the shared plates with my family. Thank you Amy for your amazing service.
Family oriented NY style pizza place. Not my favorite style of pizza. It was very good. Loved the sauce. Sandwiches are a good size, made very well. Service is great. Everyone is so personable. Try them out if you haven't, if you're from around then you know. They have some good prices so everyone in the family can find something. They even have some party specials.
Did take out tonight - Chicken Alfredo, pepperoni/sausage/mushroom calzone, garlic knots, “the works pizza”, cannoli, etc. were all 10/10. The service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and efficiency were out of this world. This is SO rare these days, look no further for your next Italian meal out!
We were in town for a company meeting and came here with a big group (nearly 25 people) before the rodeo. The staff were incredibly accommodating and set up a big table for us and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. The service was excellent and the pizza was really good. I would recommend this place to anyone.
So quiet and a calm place to eat! We got Philly cheesesteak, pizza, and pasta and it was all good! They have high chairs and their lunch special is honestly affordable if you're penny pinching❤❤
Stuffed meat lovers is the best! The sauce is on point! I’m telling everyone about this place!
Ok so is this the best Italian food in Fort Worth ? I don't know. I've only lived in Fort Worth for 56 years and I eat here for a reason. Consistency of the food they serve , the agreeable staff and the lack of drama. I had my usual order of spaghetti with meat sauce a side salad and a thin slice of hamburger pizza. $31. and change with tip. Worth it ? Yes. Will I go again ? Of course. Should you go ? That is a big thumbs up ! P.S. I haven't noticed adult beverages.
The owner is a very cool guy. Love the wall art. When I tell you that’s the best chicken salad I’ve had in a long time… Chicken was delicious and a plenty. Everything I’ve tried there is wonderful. Best mozzarella sticks in the west. I’ll be there a few times a week for that salad though. This place is a gem.
My dad ty is a regular at this place and I've been eating nizzas since they first opened there location in Arlington tx ..
This was my first visit to Nizza Pizza and I'm happy to say that they did not disappoint!! I ordered the chicken Parmigiana pasta dish which was quite delicious, and it was enough food for two people!! I suspect the leftovers will be even more delicious. Our table also ordered Pizza and another pasta dish, everyone's food was great. The service was also amazing, we were there for a bit over an hour and without us asking - our drink glasses never ran dry, and we never ran out of those amazing Parmesan rolls! 😋 So, if you are hungry for great pizza and/or great pasta, head on over to Nizza Pizza you'll be glad you did!!
Great customer service will be going back!
I know I eat here once a week. The crew is hands down the best. The owner is so sweet. I told him about my cancer battle and this was my first time eating pizza or pasta in two years and he gave me a warm hug and thanked me for coming in.
Great pizza, even better service: Ordered for the first time here & the pizza is spot on. My order originally came missing an ingredient. But when I brought it back, they insisted on making me a new pizza free of charge. They even told me to keep the first one, suggesting I make someone’s day with it. I decided to honor that & gave the first pizza to someone on the street. Thanks Nizza Pizza!
4.5 stars - Very nice neighborhood pizza joint. Got the meat lovers deep dish - never had NY style deep dish but it was good. The pizza had a ton of toppings and the cheese tasted great. Super easy to order and pickup. The deep dish was like a thicker normal pizza.
Came in not long ago and I have to apologize to you guys. That was B's that happened today and I don't condone bullying or attitudes for no reason. The employees did their best. To the man that packed my food I really wanna thank you. And wish I could return but I can't after witnessing such childish action with someone that was with me. Apologies again, I'm so sorry you guys. Even the woman tried her best so I understand her frustration. You guys be blessed
Great spot! Best NY style pizza in town. Spag & meatball was great too. Friendly service. Clean nice place.
Really good Italian food. I had Stromboli, best I’ve ever eaten. Others in my party of 9, had pizza, calzone. Both were great. Bread rolls were served while we waited for food with Marinara sauce. Service was VERY good! Will be back. Very nice people and good service experience. Clean dining area and restrooms.
I came by for my first time today because I heard it was so good. And it absolutely was. Got the deep dish pizzas they were so good, even my kids who are pretty picky loved them. The staff was very kind and accommodating, I will be back. 😊
Happened upon the restaurant and am so glad that we stopped. Their bread is so good and the marinara sauce is delicious. We tried pizzas and pastas and none of it disappointed. Would highly recommend stopping by. We left full and very happy. Kid Friendly.
My significant other loves the pizza here. We normally get a pizza and the Chicken Alfredo. I'm the type that sticks to what I know I like but recently we got the shrimp scampi instead of the pizza and wow, it was really good. I think we're going to have to try more of what's on the menu. Everything here seems to be delicious. And the staff is always so friendly. We love this place!
First visit here. I was meeting a friend for lunch. She's a regular. I order the fettuccine. The dish was hot, tasty, and delicious. The server was friendly, knowledgeable of menu and suggested alot to try.
Awesome pizza! The crust is perfect, which of course is great, but the bigger surprise to me was that they don't skimp on the toppings at all - this pie was absolutely loaded. Reheated in the air fryer the next day and the pizza was still fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic customer service. They don't seem rude or tired despite me eating there relatively late at night. The food is amazing!
My boys and I have made a tradition of coming to Nizza once a month for lunch and they never disappoint. Food is always hot, service is always above and beyond. They make an effort to get to know their usuals. The space is always clean. 10/10 recommend.
Absolutely amazing. Service was great. Our food was on time. The pesto ravioli is the best I've ever had.
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this restaurant. We tried it on a whim.bwill definitely return when we are in the area.
Went here with my mom on saturday and the people wher very nice and clean place i got pesto pasta and it was good BUT it was very oily i know its suppose to be a little oily since its pesto but i think it went a little overboard on the oil .And also very good salad it tasted very fresh and I LOVED the tomato vinagrett also my mom loved her pasta.will definitly be coming back
Really good pizza in Fort Worth and friendly staff! Give them a try 😁
UPDATE: This place never dissapoints! Pizza, pasta and more for less than$50...best pizza ans pasta with fresh ingredients. Hope they are here forever! Thank you! This place never dissapoints, best pizza around. Renovated place with extra parking and drive thru! Employees are helpful and have a smile even at closing time. I had a chef salad and ingredienta were fresh...Pizza dough is the best and ingredients are tasteful. Thank you from a Mexican customer for life!
We ordered calamari, meatball sub, and shrimp alfredo; everything was delicious! I’m a little picky when it comes to alfredo and I was not disappointed! Everything came out fresh and hot. I appreciated the music and our waitress was exceptional! I sadly do not remember her name but she was such a sweetheart and very hospitable! We will definitely have to return
Authentic NY Pizza, Excellent food and service, I highly recommend for all Pizza connoisseurs.
Called in my order for pick up. It was quick and easy. When I arrived they had a drive up. VERY convenient! The gentleman was very friendly. The food was good. I love the quality plasticware! Was not flimsy and didn't break when I was eating my salad. Also appreciated that they doubled up on the container to prevent leakage with my shrimp scampi. I'll be back!
Our visit was amazing from start to finish! It was our first time dining here after passing by so many times and I’m really glad we finally gave it a try. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and our server, Ace, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Ace was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which helped us choose the perfect dishes. Their kindness and attention truly made our evening special. The food was outstanding! The bread was fresh and full of flavor, and the pasta was some of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo, which was rich and creamy, and my sister had the lasagna ,both were absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to come back and try more items from the menu. This place is a definite 10/10, fantastic food and even better service. Ace is a big reason we’ll be returning!
First time trying and it was phenomenal! We ordered a deep dish pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks. The pizza tasted amazing, the sauce was perfect, the bread was fluffy while also being crispy. Can't say enough good things about the food, it's a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
My company had our luncheon here and it was superb. The staff was courteous and patient with us while we perused the menu. The menu has so many delicious options it was hard to chose. I settled on the chicken Alfredo and it was phenomenal! Tasted like it was made in some sweet Italian grandmother's kitchen. All ingredients were fresh and I believe they make their sauce from scratch. A gentleman, who I believe was the owner, was even kind enough for give me tips on how to adequately reheat it without losing its robust flavor. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.
Excellent Italian food. Clean establishment. Courteous staff. Reasonable prices. Very good.
Literally amazing! Took my athletes here to find affordable pasta and this place blew us away and exceeded our expectations! Our server was awesome but the food was just AMAZING!
The pizza is crispy and delicious loaded with toppings. The folks there are so nice and very courteous to their customers. A+
Absolutely awesome pizza place. Food is awesome! Price is great. I am from north east and it reminds of the more upscale pizza places in my very Italian hometown, but better!!
The food was delicious. The staff is so friendly. 10/10 I'll never stop going back.
We had pastas, spaghettis are good. The sauce has a fresh made flavor instead of a long cook flavor. Unfortunately the Alfredo was watery and flavorless, I think someone forgot to add salt. After a bit of salt the flavor was good.
Always delicious! My son split a drink on accident and they were so nice. Cleaned up the mess and even offered me new pizza. Love this place. 100% recommend and we will for sure be back!
Nice dinner with the family. The wait staff offered complimentary garlic knots for the table. We loved the mozzarella sticks. Ordered an extra large pepperoni and an extra large margarita pizza. So much pizza we brought a bunch home. I asked for marinara on the side and they brought me a whole bowl! Their sauce is great. Ingredients are fresh. We will go back!
Came in pretty late employee's were still top notched gave great service! Super sweet to my daughter who was having a rough night my family left very happy & pleased with the food & service! It was also nice that they did not hold back on speaking spanish to us as my mom is spanish speaking only it was nice that she could communicate with the waitress that rarely happens & it made her feel included! We'll for sure be back on family night!
Hysen's Nizza Pizza deserves every bit of praise. I came in hungry and left impressed. I ordered the linguine al pesto and a slice of the deep dish The Works. Both were packed with flavor and cooked right. The pasta was fresh and the deep dish slice was loaded without being greasy. The staff really made the experience great. They were friendly, quick and treated everyone walking in like regulars. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do and why they have an award on the wall. If you want solid food and service that actually feels genuine, this place is worth the stop. Good vibes!
Last week 10 min before closing, I called for a slice. I picked up a spinach, mushroom, and onion stuffed pizza. It was incredibly delicious! And it came with a side of, amazing, marinera sauce. Tonight I called. Before I said anything I was told the kitchen was closed. I said it's ok. I don't want anything cooked, just a slice. I live a 3 min walk away. " Nope, nothing." Unfortunately, inconsistent. It depends on who answers the phone. Bummer
being from the east coast, it’s hard finding a good new york style pizza. ever since I moved to Fort Worth I’ve been craving a good pizza slice but had not found anything remotely close to a classic New York slice. im so glad i found nizza pizza. not only is their pizza delicious but their desserts?? best I’ve tried in all the Italian spots I’ve been to in the DFW. Highly recommend their tiramisu and chocolate cannoli.
Server was friendly and attentive, food was great! Came out quickly. Pizza was Huge and crust bread was markedly excellent, soft and fluffy with kwispy crust, chef's kiss! Alfredo sauce was also noteworthy. Will be back when at events in FW.
Pizza is very good ,cakes too cheese cake yummie only thing on cheesecake wish the serving size fit the price 😋 😂but it is delicious I like they pizza cause it loaded with ingredients onions bell peppers mushrooms olives 🫒 😋 meat lover's the best the crust is very good I like that it not too thick and doughy just right size make it easier to chew and enjoy I give them ten star if I could i can say this much it's tough decision between Little Ceasars, Mama Pizza, they all on that high level chart 😋 but I keep going to Nizza something about they crust just can't stay away from sooo good I like that you will get full you do get ingredients in every bite it's not just whole lots of dough no ingredients....this one is Pepper roni pizza olive, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese oh this place has a drive threw window 😀
I am editing this review to give some more specific feedback. I often order delivery, but have dined in as well. I usually order the Chicken Picatta and a salad - tried and true, always amazing. The house salad dressing is top notch, something most restaurants treat as an afterthought. The Picatta's flavor is always spot on! Today, ordered a quick lunch. The cheese ravioli, wow! That red sauce is on point! My friend ordered the ziti with vodka sauce - perfection! EVERYTHING - and I mean *everything* - is always so good, I have never had a bad meal or experience. Thank you for always hitting the mark, one of my favorite local spots!
We had the stuffed pizza, the Stromboli and the spaghetti and meatballs. The crust so was buttery and crunchy. The sauce was so flavorful. My Stromboli was STUFFED with meat!! Everything was served quickly. Our waitress was very sweet and personable. We topped off our meal with the chocolate mousse cake which was to die for. I highly recommend this place for quick, delicious and handmade pizza. We will be back!!
The real Nizza Pizza on University Drive is always amazing. The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is so chilled. Amy is a doll her customer service is top tier. She is always smiling and thinking of your needs before you have to ask. She needs to be the standard for all service workers and deserve a raise asap. If you're in Forth Worth, you have to stop by and get you a slice or a whole pie. I mean it couldn't hurt.
The meat lover pizza was full of toppings and very good. They also have a pretty big menu outside of pizza. Lots of ways to get food here. You can dine in, order it to go, or use the drive thru.
It's about time you brought back the mannicotti even though it has spinach its still delicious dont take it off the menu anymore please...
2022 Review-Pizza was delicious! I called in my order over the phone. My pepperoni pizza was hot-n-ready when I arrived. I wanted to try Serious Pizza but Nizza Pizza has never disappointed me so why go elsewhere. Previous Review-Customer service was great. I saw new friendly smiling faces. Pizza is always delicious & prices are still decent.
Brought my daughter in for a quick dinner. The pasta menu looked good and the deep dish menu looked great; ended up ordering the thin crust white pizza. Service was great as we waited; the garlic rolls are an amazing appetizer. Our drinks were kept topped off and our pizza came out really quickly. The white pizza was exactly what you would expect, a very straightforward version of a common pizza. The crust is great when you are eating, really prevents a mess of grease. However, the crust by itself is a little dry. All told, a good casual meal. Would not be surprised if we drop in again next time we’re in Fort Worth.
Chicken cutlet on the fettuccine Alfredo was tasty but the pasta was just ok - I make mine from scratch with hand grated pecorino and parmigiano reggiano so I’m pretty particular. It was nice that they included garlic knots with the pasta order - I wasn’t expecting that! The pizza was fine. My fiancé picked it up and she said the woman at the counter made sure we had cutlery, napkins and plates which is great service you don’t see much of anymore.
I had stopped in for a dinner date. Greeted and told I could sit where I like. I was soon approached with a friendly smile and ordered an appetizer, drinks and a few minutes later placed my meal order. The slices of pizza are big and layered. Filled full of taste. The baked ziti was presented looking delicious but came up just shy of it. The Shrimp Alfredo however, was presented looking delicious and did not disappoint. The price is a bit higher than expected. Overall it's not a terrible spot for a sit down. If you go, Go hungry.
They’ve reopened but now what? Well the place stands out, the place was clean, the food tastes GREAT! but that’s 3 positive things, presentation of the food is still not great and the service could be better. However if all you about the food, still a great place for pizza. It’s still a place I recommend for someone who is trying to find a good slice to fold and eat.
I went inside to place a to go order. I ordered an XL pizza with Fettuccine Alfredo for 2 people paid $55. Waited for an hr exactly just to get my food cold! I checked food as soon as I got inside my car pizza it was cold, pasta was cold! so it was prob about two mins before I was able to check it in my car.! Which most likely my food was sitting there for a while even though I asked a couple of times for an update on my order. I really like this place. We have gone quite a few times, but after that we’re really going to have to think about going back!
We were visiting the Kimball nearby and decided to stop for some pizza on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good. Garlic rolls a bit burnt. Lasagna was underdone. Meat lovers pizza and meatballs were good. I would suggest the restrooms are cleaned more often. The women’s restroom was just atrocious.
My girlfriend and I have been excited to try this place ever since we moved out to Fort Worth. She’s from New York, and was really hoping this place would be at least reminiscent of a NY-Italian slice of pie…unfortunately, this is not the case. Pizza was very bland, hardly any flavor at all even when visually quite appealing! Somehow…flavorless. The atmosphere was decent, EXCEPT for the music decisions. Country blaring in the main dining area, and Dance/Rap/Trap/R&B blaring in the open kitchen area…like a tug-of-war between awful music combos. Really disappointed, but the cashier was nice…so I guess that earns at least full star in itself.
I ordered through the phone, and they said the pizza would be ready in 20 minutes, I got there 15 minutes after they said that and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes to receive my pizza. I went home to eat my pizza and it was lacking flavor, the crust was hard, the sauce was bland, and cold! My house is only 10 minutes away from the store so nothing on the pizza should’ve been cold. It was a bad experience, the cashier said they recently raised the prices on the pizza, a medium pepperoni pizza was $17.85!! And it wasn’t even good! Felt like a complete waste of money, I have better experiences when I eat the pizza in the restaurant but if you plan on ordering to-go don’t waste your time or money. The pizza was a 2/10, it was bland and cold.
7/2/22: electricity out in neighborhood so I decided to eat out. I wanted pizza and QT didn't have any so I drove here. First time ever after 11yrs living here. My son toldme years ago it wasn't all that...but I thought since this space was new that it might be better. Pros: 1) clean upon entry 2) parking lot surface even 3) dining area cleaned 4) friendly staff 5) a lot of staff 6) food warmer surface clean Consssss 1) too many staff standing around walking over each other 2) food warmer area is too close and slightly open to public walking up to place orders 3) staff to anxious to help without letting the customer get acclimated 4) flies 5) cleaning products and utensils are out next to food preparation areas and dining area 6) flies 7) no mask or gloves or hairnets 8) too many people handling register 9) cooks walking in and out of kitchen area to talk and watch tv 10) staff watching tv and not orders (specifically mine) I placed a specific order! Slice of thin crust, the works, no ham, extra cheese on top melted. Added garlic knots and a drink. Waited 30min and my order wasn't brought out. People were coming in grabbing call-in orders and ordering and I was forgotten about until I asked one of the waiting around staffers where was my order, she went to check and a cook came out and asked "what was my order." Like really? I told him then the young guy who initially started taking my order but got sidetracked by the fight brought out a order and kinda pushed it too me in a hurry. I was getting ticked and said some choice words! I checked it...looked right so I headed to my vehicle but something said check again, I did and it wasn't my order. I drove to the drive thru and requested they fix what I paid for. I was told by the young guy that they lost my ticket and just fixed anything. I call BS and I will be checking my card for fraudulent charges. Got my order and got home to taste bland pizza and garlic knots. I had to add my own stuff to both to give it some taste! (Garlic butter, tomatoes, Italian seasoning and cheese as shown in picture) No I will not go back! 2 stars for the sweet young ladies working
I ordered the deep dish $22.50. It wasnt a deep dish. I should have known when they said it would be ready in 20mins. A real deep dish takes at least 30mins to cook. Its a thick crust pizza and the crust was really hard to chew and bite into. Im sure they have good food there but the deep dish is a fail.
Wanted dine in but was forced with take out!! Will absolutely never come back again! I’m a big supporter of the food service industry and love to try new places in the area. Had been talking about it for a couple of weeks and decided to treat my girlfriend to a nice dinner. Not one employee was courteous. We were both very rushed. Ordered our food and when it was brought to us it was in a box taped up and the waitress literally said “it’s in the box so it’s easy to carry”. Just dropped it on the table. We always carry a handful of passes to the movies for great service but definitely not for this place. Serious pizza right around the corner is the spot to go!! Employees need better training and the owners need to be aware. Lost a potential good customer!…. Tell the cook that they did a great job!!
I have been a long time customer and never had a problem, but this evening was a terrible experience. First I called to place an order, someone had picked up the phone but nothing was said. I hang up and call back and the same thing happened, therefore I hang up and call again assuming that maybe something was wrong with their phone. A lady answered and finally spoke this time, and told me that she had me on hold and she knew I was calling. I could hear people in the background but was not sure what was going on. She was very short and gave bad customer service over the phone and when I arrived, she opened the window and stared at me not saying a word. I was bothered once again by the poor customer service. I told her my name and she shut the window and walked away once again unprofessional. I seen another guy walking by the window, and I got his attention and asked him who the manager was on duty. Shockingly the person that answered the phone and window was the manager on duty. As I told the gentleman at the window of my experience, he smiled with a smirk on his face the whole time, as if it was funny, and then apologized once he felt my dissatisfaction. I told him to cancel the order and we left. In all my years coming here, I’ve never had an issue or an experience like this, but clearly she should not be running a business or a restaurant. Her name was Javi ???? Good luck with keeping your loyal customers with the crappy service.
my first time was today, was going well untill there was a confusion with out waitress and me and husband due too our first time. we asked for a request or a solution to the problem, our waitress was doing just fine it was another waitress chiming in the problem and cussing very loud not only in front of me and my husband but others as well. very bad attitude with her and the girl manager, bad time for us never will come again.
Pulled up at 9:40 to place a pickup order when the hours say closes at 10. Open sign was still on, another car was pulling up to place order as well. Employee said they were closed and wouldn’t take order. Pizza was great before but if you close at 9:40 don’t say you close at 10.
I came into this location and ordered a 14” half cheese, half pepperoni pizza, which cost nearly $20. It took about 20 minutes to receive my order. When I took my first bite, it was immediately obvious the pizza was not fresh. The cheese wasn’t hot or melty like a freshly made pizza should be. Instead, it appears they used pre-made slices that were already sitting out and combined them to make a 14” pizza. I did not receive a fresh pie—just reheated, old slices passed off as a new pizza. That’s unacceptable, especially at this price point. If a customer orders a fresh large pizza, it should actually be made fresh, not assembled from leftover slices and warmed up. Very disappointed and I will not be returning to this location. Customers should be aware that ordering a “fresh” pizza here may result in exactly what I experienced—a rip-off.
If I could’ve given 0 stars I would’ve. We love to go out as a family and have a nice dinner, and chose pizza last week. This pizza brought me back to my days in grade school. The cafeteria actually was better. Cardboard for flavor, and the cheese..please it wasn’t melted at all. Save your dollars times are tough…you’re better off getting totinos from the freezer. Hope this helps.
Called in a order and the person that took my order told me it would be ready in 10 minutes that was at 4:06 now when I get there at 4:25 my order was not even put in. I understand if they were busy but there is no cars in the parking lot. I have NEVER had any issues with this place. But after a long day at work you just wanting your favorite pizza and have to deal with this made me lose my appetite.
