Food is top notch and authentic as you will find. Service is excellent. Drinks are good and cheep! Vibe and culture is amazing. Go for dancing. Gotta support places like this that are an oasis of greatness in the vast wasteland of “meh” known as the suburbs. When the current nightmare is over we will all be desperate for a place like this, so gotta do our part to help them weather the storm.
Amazing tacos, friendly service. Love the Punk Rock Tacos theam every couple months 🤘
1-The tacos al carbon was great. 2-The ostiones preparados was great BUT, the cooker won't cut the oysters before. 3-the 3 salsas was perfect 4-chips was fresh made 5- you have to ask for plates 6-you have to ask for silverware
I don’t think you can order something bad from here. If there is, I haven’t found it. Reasonably priced for high quality food.
Fantastic spot with great portions and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.
I love this place as a restaurant and also as a venue. The food is some of the best I've ever had and I've been to many many restaurants with similar menus, but this place outshines them all. The service is always extraordinary and they go above and beyond the call of duty. I love that it doubles as a venue and they have events quite often that are always guaranteed to entertain. I even came here for my birthday because I wanted to have their delicious food! At that time they had a local DJ and he played Happy Birthday and other birthday themed songs just before I left for the evening. They definitely made me feel special on that day; unforgettable. 11/10 Cannot express how great this establishment is!
The food was 10/10. The cemita de milanesa de pollo taste like I am eating one in Puebla. I also had a taco árabe, if you have not had a taco árabe before it's a must to try it. It's a tortilla de arina with carne al pastor salsa chipotle and for the extra good taste add lime. The waitress was very nice and will keep checking to see if everything was ok. . I highly recommend this place.
I heard so many good things about this place and decided to stop by. I ordered 3 tacos: 1 alambre, one fish and one al pastor. The tacos were all good. Service was a bit lacking. The waiter never checked up on us after providing us with our food. Never came back to refill our water. Since I was meeting a friend for lunch there, we stayed for about 90 minutes. It took 20+ plus minutes after we ate for the waiter to clean and remove our plates. Mind u, we were 1 of 2 clients, and there were two servers. Our waiter only had our table. Overall great place. I ended up taking a Cemita Poblana and rice order to go
This eatery puts a different twist on burgers. My friend got the Cholulita special cemita (burger with Breaded chicken chorizo, ham, chop and egg) and a taco de tripas. He enjoyed his meal. I ordered a traditional torta with carne asada and taco de chile relleno. The food was prepared fresh and the ingredients were good. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I’ll be back to try some other menu items.
My new go-to for authentic Mexican. I had a 3 taco dinner, and chose lengua, asada, and alambre tacos. Probably THE most tender and flavorful lengua I've ever had. All 3 tacos were bomb and had a ton of meat in em. Rice and beans were even better than average. Really good hot sauces too. More than reasonable prices, and very kind and attentive service, even just for carryout. I recommend fully!
Came here for dinner Saturday around 6pm. Sat down right away. Our server was nice and friendly but she didn’t bring us silverware. I had to ask twice. The horchata wasn’t that good, I’ve had better. I had 1 taco Árabe and wasn’t a fan for my taste.. it has a strong chipotle flavor and the meat had a lot of fatty pieces. I also had al pastor tacos and those were delicious! My husband got the cemita milanesa pollo and he said it was very good! My kids shared a 2 taco dinner w rice and beans and they ate it up! My mom had the sopa de res, the server said it wasn’t spicy but it was. We also had the shrimp empanadas and they were 100% Over all good experience. We would return.
First and last time. Got take out, one of my family members went to pick up and she had a cemita missing, she went back, they took 20 extra minutes to give her the food. The portions were poorly for a cemita, the milanesa was hard as a rock as if they have reheat it a bunch of times and the 3 of us got stomach pain after.
I previously left a very positive review for Cemitas Poblanas because the food has always been excellent. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been disappointing due to a noticeable decline in customer service. While the food remains delicious and well-prepared, the lack of basic customer service significantly impacts the overall experience. The atmosphere feels unwelcoming, and there is little to no engagement with customers. Good service is an important part of dining out, and without it, even great food becomes less enjoyable. It’s genuinely sad to see this change, as the quality of the food shows so much potential. I truly hope the management addresses the customer service issues, because with friendly and attentive service, this place could easily return to being a standout spot.
0 stars if possible - the atmosphere is unwelcome to families! The music choice was unbearable, demeaning, and the sound quality was enough to kill any taste buds. When we shared with the waitress out discontent, she was not at all attentive and seemed to laugh. That is just scratching the surface level...the cleaning was minimal. The customer service and waitress staff were far from attentive, taking too long to take orders. The menu selection seemed good, but the alcohol selection was poor...not what we were looking for on a weekend. We left without even getting a chance to order, so no rating on the food...if you are looking for family atmosphere, a welcoming place to enjoy food...this is not the place.
I was looking for no star rating for really poor service. I told server the fried pineapple was cold and had no flavor. I regret coming here. Nothing like Rey de Mariscos from Elk Grove. I tried to cancel however I was brought back the same pineapple and now it was overcooked. Server said I was stuck with it. I would definitely not come here again. Thumbs down.
dont come eat here the waitress is rude, they take forever the food sucked the tampiqueña had no flavor and then my girlfriends rice was literally soaked in grease and we told them about it didnt even offer to switch it out and just came and took the plate didnt comeback. theirs better places in villa park to eat. oh and the enchiladas that come with the tampiqueña are nasty the sauce isnt good i make them better at home and im not exagerting. but that short waiter is horrible
