Not only is the coffee delicious here, the staff is super sweet. There are a few little coffee places popping up around Bakersfield that we really enjoy, Blue Oak definitely being one of the best! One fun thing about this coffee house is there seems to be a lot of community involvement. I went in today and they had paints and things out (for kids I think) and on our first visit they had a community piano out front. In addition to their coffees and teas, they always have a delectable array of freshly baked goods which they bake on site. Today they had HP inspired cookies, funfetti cookies, chocolate chip cookies, linzer tart (which is super yummy, I got that last time!), a variety of scones (both savoury and sweet), and bagels. I want to mention again-the coffee is phenomenal. I have only been twice so far, the first time was about a month ago, with my boyfriend. Today only I came in and placed both of our orders but the owner remembered us and his order! (nothing crazy that would stand out, either. Just an iced mocha with a splash of half and half.) The fact that the proprietor remembered us is an exceptional detail; that level of service is astounding.

With all of the new coffee shops in town, Blue Oak stands out with their creative drinks and flavors. They have a featured drink every day and honestly if work was closer downtown I'd make it in every day. All bakery items are made in-house and they also have bagged coffee, jams, and other goods for sale all around the shop. Personal favorites are the baklava iced latte + cheddar chive scone. Tip: If you don't like your lattes and other specialty drinks sweet, be sure to mention it! Most drinks I've tried here are pretty sweet and definitely more enjoyable with the sweetness cut down. I also 100% enjoy black coffee, so if that's not your thing then you do you - just make sure to grab a scone or apple cider donut while you're there!

When I come to Bakersfield, I always go to Blue Oak, because they are very courteous and friendly. Their pastries are yummy and my 5 years old and the 11 years old love seating there eating their cookies with their frosty milk 😉

My mom and I came in today while visiting the area from out of town-we got a ‘Bakersfield cafe passport’ and this place was in it so we gave it a try! So glad we did, this place is so, so cute! We got a guava empanada, an apple filled donut, a flat white, and a lavender tea latte. Everything was amazing! The lady working was so kind, friendly, and made all the drinks perfect! ◡̈

5 Star? No way, this little gem gets all the stars in the sky! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is outstanding, She took the time to CRAFT our coffee's with such care and consideration, I could taste the difference. The pastry's are handmade with locally sourced ingredients. There's not many places that offer great food, service, atmosphere and pricing. But you can get all that and more from Blue Oak. Try the Custard Empanada..Yum!!! I'll be going back again and again.

Came here this morning with an 8 drink order. There appeared to be only one woman working so I felt bad but she was incredibly kind and worked quickly to get our order out. She even made us a drink carrier which was super helpful. The drinks were also great!

Scones are made on site, fresh, and like traditional English scones. Coffee is great and service is fast and froendly. No blaring music, Amen!

The barista is probably the most gentle lady I’ve ever seen. I had the coconut latte and was blown away by the flavor. I have been back several times. I will be back several more times.

This isn't a Starbucks you aren't getting your drink in 2 minutes if there's a line. But that said it's FAR better than any drink you'll get at a chain coffee place. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into it. Literally had to turn around and walk back in to tell her how amazing the drink was. Will definitely be coming back here for another afternoon pick me up!

I love the fresh pastries and tasteful coffee. In addition to the delicious food, the coffee shop is nice and to top it off, the owner is kind and friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

My wife and I decided to try Blueridge Coffee Roasting, and we're so glad we did! The coffee was excellent, rich, and full of flavor. We also loved the apple and cherry turnovers—absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was perfect, and the music selection really set the mood. We’ll definitely be back!

Sorry you are going through such turmoil. Maybe consider joining the Downtown Business Association? I believe they have an agreement with a security company that offers security at a discounted rate for members. =)
