The Food Market never disappoints. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food truly never misses. Brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour all offer standout options that are both delicious and creative. They also have a full cocktail menu along with great non-alcoholic options, which I really appreciate. An all-around solid spot that delivers every single time.

Great menu, delicious food, and my mocktail was yummy, too! Our server was attentive, was great with our two tables of a "kids table" and an "adult table", and everything came out in a timely manner. Food was hot and fresh... our favorite stop for dinner in Hampden!

Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. The food, the drinks, the presentation, everything was on point. I ordered the 12 oz American Wagyu New York strip, which was the most expensive item on the menu, and it was worth every dollar. Perfectly cooked, rich, tender, and full of flavor. You can genuinely taste the quality of the Wagyu. It was served hot on cast iron and seasoned beautifully without overpowering the meat. Ashley ordered the roasted beef short rib, and it was fall apart tender. Deep flavor, slow cooked to perfection, and incredibly satisfying. One of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. The sides were just as impressive. The fries were crisp and well seasoned, the lobster mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and loaded with lobster, and the onion rings were light and crunchy without being greasy. For drinks, I had the Bearista Spiked Latte, which was smooth, balanced, and creative. Not too sweet, not too strong, just done right. The cocktail menu overall is very well thought out. Presentation was upscale and intentional, the atmosphere was perfect for a date night or special occasion, and the service really tied everything together. Joe was a great server. Attentive, professional, and made the experience even better without hovering. If you are looking for high quality steak, excellent cocktails, and an overall elevated dining experience, this place delivers. I will absolutely be back.

10/10 highly recommend. No notes to give. The food was delish. The mini drinks/shots were creative and tasted good. The decor was cute. The staff was super friendly. Most importantly you get good portions for the price.

We sat at the bar because the restaurant was packed! Definitely make a reservation if you want to eat here. We got drinks the Amish pretzels with cheese, street tacos, and onion rings. The food was amazing! The pretzels and street tacos were the highlight. Great place to grab a drink towards the end of the night

I have been here many times, but realized I never wrote a review so there’s no better time than now to share my thoughts. We recently visited the food market because of their customer appreciation event where they were offering 50% off the entire menu. This was something new as I don’t believe I remember them doing this type of event, but it was so thoughtful of the restaurant to do this. Regardless of the discount this restaurant is a must visit as they are consistently producing top-notch quality dishes. Not to mention, the service was amazing given how crowded the restaurant was this particular day. Our server Nadeen was amazing. She was attentive, prompt, and made sure we were well taken care of. This restaurant is suitable for families or just as perfect for those looking for a more intimate date night. However, because of its location, location they don’t have a designated parking area therefore it is a street parking situation. Now moving onto the food ! They have a pretty decent number of items on their menu and I think at this point I have tried just about everything and I can’t say that I dislike any items. I’ve tried so far. However, I will share some of my favorites. I love their giant mozzarella stick. Considering it size it somehow still stays altogether and super crunchy with just the right amount of cheese pull. We also got their street corn wedge salad, and that was amazing. It was super light and paired so nicely with the ranch and the shrimp. And of course, they’re famous cheesesteaks also delicious with very tender pieces of meat paired with their really soft chewy bread. And while I’m not one for mocktails I got their Gucci lemonade, and it was so refreshing, not overly sweet and paired perfectly with my meal!

Fantastic spot for brunch! Loved the campfire breakfast and the lobster crispy lobster fingers are a must have. The menu had so many good dishes it was hard to choose. I’ll be returning next time I’m in the area.

The food was delicious!!! We got 3 or 4 appetizers and 5 entree's between 4 of us. The prices were good, the drinks were good but the food was too due for!!! If I'm ever in the area again I'll be back! I didn't get photos of the appetizers but we got the lamb chops, meatballs and pork belly. We got 2 blackened tuna entree's, a burger, the steak tartae and the duck lo mein. Everything was so good and I'm glad they had a mocktail/ Virgin cocktail options as well. I got the Gucci lemonade. The blackened tuna was too die for and was definitely my favorite, especially the salad that comes with it and the sweet potatoe Rangoon. We had a reservation for 7.30pm on a Thursday night. The place was packed, I do not know how long the wait would've been if we didn't have a reservation. In total our bill was around $235 before tip. This included 5 meals, 3 appetizers (they also give you fancy popcorn for the table), 1 mocktail, 1 beer, 1 cocktail and a soda. For 4 people it wasn't bad and we only had a little bit of leftovers because we were all starving and saving room for dessert.

TLDR: The Food Market always hits. Brunch, dinner, or even their chef’s slay the menu table, I leave happy every time. Labor Day’s 50% off appreciation brunch was just another reason why this spot is one of my Baltimore go tos. *Review is for "Slay the Menu" Chef's Table Dining Experience* TLDR: One of the best group dining experiences in Baltimore. Unlimited cocktails/wine paired with the best of the best from TFM's menu. Loved the secluded room w/ private bartender which really set the bar for the evening. Must reservations months in advance. Vibe: 5/5. After checking in at the hostess stand, you are escorted down a flight of stairs and through several kitchen corridors underneath the main dining room until you reach what looks to be like a repurposed kitchen prep station. Surrounded by stainless steel kitchen supplies and bulk bags of dry goods, it really gives off the Chef's Table vibe, in a good way! We opted for a group of 10, which gave us the ability to have a private bartender and bar cart in the room (groups of 11 or more cannot have that option due to room size constraints). The cart is perfectly located at the head of the room with all drinks being made right on scene. Another nice perk was having our own private bathroom located at the entrance of the private dining room. This allowed us to use the facilities without having to navigate all the way upstairs. Service: 5/5. Truly amazing service from start to finish. Our private bartender Brandi was instrumental in our wonderful dinner. Once our entire table arrived a little after 6pm, our Brandi notified the kitchen staff that we were ready to start the barrage of food courses. As soon guests arrived, she was taking cocktail orders and made us feel welcomed. As the night progressed , she did a great job at keeping up with drink orders and communicating with the kitchen staff on course pacing. Never once did we feel rushed or left waiting for food/drink. At the end of the meal, she was able to have all the leftover boxed up ahead of time so we had everything ready to go. Nothing short of a "like clockwork" experience. Food/drink: 5/5. Talk about over indulgence, but in the best way possible! After making the dinner reservations months in advance, you are given the choice of unlimited drinks w/ private bartender or a la carte. If going the unlimited route (recommend) , it costs about $150 per person for a group of 10 and $100 if a la carte for a group up to 12. You are given the choice of 10 cocktails (5 classic and 5 from the seasonal drink menu) , 3 bottles of red, 3 bottles of white, 1 bubbly and 3 draft beers. Throughout the night you are allowed to rotate freely between this set menu. We came for a birthday dinner, so we easily drank 8-10 drinks person. Food was chef's choice and came out in 5 multidish courses. The dinner lasted 4 hours in length which over that time we had around 10-12 dishes, all served in large format family style. I assure you, you will not leave hungry. Several dishes were substantial main courses including fried lobster tail, lamb chop lollipops, seared steak, fried chicken and crab cakes. This was essentially the best of the best from The Food Market's menu and it definitely did not disappoint. If you have a special occasion dinner looking for elevated dining, highly recommend the Slay The Menu Experience!

My husband and I loved this place. It was our first visit and we were not disappointed. We ordered Beets by Chad, Fajitas and the Salmon BLT. The food was phenomenal and the service was too. We're visiting from North Carolina and The Food Market will definitely be on my list of places to visit when I'm here.

The food market always delivers. While its not a cheap place to eat its also not super expensive & you get that yo pay for. We all had drinks appetizers main and desserts and each eas delightful. Definitely try the mozzarella sticks as well as the pretzel sticks. The desserts are also fabulous as well. In hipster Hampden but worth the trip, the, also cater and do private dinners as well.

Friendly staff. Someone was regularly refilling water in the room so it didn't matter that I didn't see my (very nice and funny) waiter a lot. The menu is fairly diverse, with a lot of seafood, and beef and lamb. It's creative and interesting. Next time I'm here I'll add a "little" item for the table since the "big" plates have only 2 components. My salmon was cooked expertly. Tender and soft and flakey but the crust was crispy. The drink menu is solid, the cocktails seem good, and they have local (MD, some PA) beers on draft. I'll be back 🤝🏻

We’ve been for dinner and absolutely devoured everything so we couldn’t pass up an opportunity for brunch. It did not disappoint!! The little donut starters were yummy and helped hold us over while we mulled over all the delicious options on the menu. There’s definitely something for everyone here! Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was great and our server was fantastic! Sh was on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of. Definitely try this place for brunch or dinner - you won’t be disappointed !!

Visited for restaurant week and cannot wait to go back. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was great! We ordered off the restaurant special menu, so some items pictured aren't on the regular menu. However, their entire menu sounds incredible; everything has a unique flair. I loved the free popcorn for the table it was topped with a basil infused parmesean and drizzled with truffle oil which was amazing.

Boyfriend and I came here for dinner after hearing great things about it. I'm so happy we did because everything was 10/10. Super cute atmosphere and our waitress, Brandy was great. Very attentive and bubbly personality. We tried multiple appetizers, each got an entree, and got the blondie dessert. There wasn't anything I didn't love. I can't wait to come back and try more.

My friends and I were very excited to try this place . So many good choices on the menu , so where do we start lol. We ordered a bunch of items to try so here they go…. Fried green tomatoes topped with crab, buffalo fried pickles, fried oysters , lobster fingers, crab Rangoon poppers , and spaghetti and crab meatballs , I mean all so good! The fried green tomatoes could have been seasoned but overall good. The sauce under the lobster fingers was so tasty had a nice ginger kick. The lobster was fried so perfectly. The pickles next. , So good! Thick cut with buffalo and blue cheese underneath, muah! The oysters were ok . Oh I forgot the French onion ring soup was bangin and cheesy, love the spin they put on it . The crab Rangoon poppers so cute and delish a nice burst in your mouth! Last the spaghetti and crab meatballs so so good, nice combo. Our server Rick was awesome. We had a great time ! Def will return to try more on the menu.

We were in Baltomore overnight and saw this place pop up while searching for a spot to eat. We were excited to try this place based on reviews and photos posted. What a great spot! We wnt early for a late lunch early dinner at 4, as we had movie reservations at 7. Place is small but accommodating. Service was top notch and the food was..wonderful! The cream of crab soup was by far one of the best (if not THE best) we ever had. Mozzarella sticks were huge and delicious (btw you get four despite the photos looking like 2!) ...and the marinara was spot on perfect! The lobster fingerlings were cooked to perfection. We weren't thrilled with the mustard sauce for the lobster - we would have preferred a spicy tartar or something similar, but still an amazing dish. Poke nachos were super fresh and delightful. Can't wait to go back!!

Amazing. My mother and I came here for brunch today and it was simply amazing. I loved the music and atmosphere. It is a vibe. The Salmon Bacon and regular bacon was so good. The Cream of Crab soup, is the best that I have ever tasted. I ordered the Crab Benedict without the English Muffin and it was delicious. I will definitely be back to try their dinner.

I took my parents here for my mom’s birthday and the waitress greeted us with the cutest little birthday card. She was so attentive the entire time and made helpful recommendations about what to get it. There were four of us and we split 5 small plates, 2 big plates, and 3 desserts and we were stuffed by the end. Everything tasted so flavorful and unique and nothing disappointed. This was my second time here and I was just as wowed by the food and service as I was during my initial visit. My only advice is to make a reservation in advance because this place was packed on a Saturday night!

Excellent experience tonight. It was busier than usual on a Monday night, but everyone was so kind and apologetic for the slightly above average wait. The food was fantastic and definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend paying $10 for the valet because street parking is atrocious. I was able to pay my valet at the bar so I thought that was extra convenient as I cashed out my tab. Will definitely be returning!

Slay the menu experience- I give this experience 5/5, you dine in a private room, chef selected plates but enough for everyone to find something they will enjoy. The service was great, quick and attentive to detail. Would definitely do it again, worth the $100 per person.

Our first time here. We chose seating at the bar instead of a community table that we were offered. Food was delicious. Steak and short rib were cooked perfectly as we ordered. There was more food on the menu that we wanted so we will be back. The Amish pretzels weren’t salty but more sweet dough like bread but still delicious

R

Phenomenal brunch food. It was really sweet that they brought mini donuts for the table to start. We ordered a lot of food and every plate was so delicious. Pictured are the mini donuts, big ole mozzarella sticks, French toast dippers, goat cheese mushroom omelette, avocado toast and cream of crab soup with extra crab

The “big” menu portion size is really big… Maybe one dish can feed two. The rib are delicious.

We were visiting from NYC and found this place on yelp and decided to try it out based on their really high ratings. Yelp really is so accurate! We had made reservations for brunch and walked in to a fairly busy restaurant at around 12:30. A friendly staff welcomed us and got us seated along with a highchair for our little one. They mixed some amazing cocktails and for food, we tried a few things which included a delicious serving of their spicy bbq'd carrots ($9), whipped potatoes ($8), crab cake ($35 - little), and risotto. Their menu was a little light on options for vegetarians, but their sides are filling enough and absolutely delcious for vegetarians to try! That is what I did. Service was absoltely excellent, and so was the ambiance. I'd highly recommend this place to friends and family, and will visit again if we are in Baltimore!

MUST try their avocado toast! So delightful with all of the various and robust flavors. Definitely have to eat with a fork and knife to enjoy every bite properly 😏 My boyfriend loved his Country Eggs Benedict that had a different spin on it we aren’t used to which was a fried green tomato as the base—so good!

This is a staple for me. I love to go everytime I visit home. My favorite thing is the lime basil bliss drink, it's nonalcoholic and refreshing. The French toast things are yummy. I've had almost everything on the menu. We even did a murder mystery in the lower part of the restaurant last year that is still talked about.

I literally plan my trips home to visit around the ability to go get these blondies! It's warm, the marshmallow is toasted and the fruit(seasonal ) is chefs kiss! Now, the menu itself is delicious too - I looooove this hidden gem with the best bar seating and service. The vibe is chill and the food makes it feel truly incredible!

Food was INCREDIBLE and our waitress was as sweet as can be. It’s pretty pricey so it’s nice for a night out where you’re willing to splurge and the vibes are immaculate. It was VERY busy so that’s why I gave it 4 starts for atmosphere, I couldn’t even hear my friends talking, but that’s no one’s fault. 10/10 will dine here again.

This is a nice and diverse place but the customer service was not there until you ask for it. The host was not present during lunch time until a line formed and you asked questions. The food came fast and the food was great but the customer service could use a little of improvement.

Started coming here in 2018 for special occasions and I do think it’s gotten a bit worse over the years. Previously, the food would stand out as some of the best and most creative, and now I’m not sure if I would really remember the last meal. When paying a premium for food, I do hold it to higher standards after spending $200 on a meal. Steak was a bit over medium rare. Partner’s steak was under. Lobster Mac and cheese was just not good. Not enough cheese sauce and the noodles were a bit dry, tossed with a few chunks of seafood. Fries were a bit soggy. Drinks and app were delicious. Tables were so cheap, my husband leaned on it to get up and the whole thing toppled over.

Very busy during lunch and brunch hours. Recommended to reserve a table. If not expect to wait a little bit for a table. Service was great, staff was very friendly. I ordered the Pull Short Rib Benedict with home fries which was an amazing choice. The egg was properly poached and runny. The pull pork was marinated and cooked well as it pulled apart easily. The Benedict came with a side of home fries which was very crispy however was overly seasoned and salty. Restroom was very clean Plenty of street parking, but it does get busy and pack. No private lot.

The weather was atrocious, raining and cold. We were welcomed by two young hostesses and seated immediately. Andy, our server, welcomed us with a bowl of freshly made popcorn with a lot of flavor. Cocktails were delicious, and we enjoyed the most amazing plate of onion rings with melted cheese and a delicious broth. The entrées arrived, Short ribs, Shrimp & Grits, Lamb Cutlets with wilted radicchio. All beautifully prepared and presented. A very excellent meal. We did not have dessert, as our guest wanted to go to a small ice cream shop, the Charmery?

One of my favorite restaurants. I love The Food Market. The vibes are always nice, great service and the food is delicious. My last visit I was disappointed in the meal I chose. I think some changes were made to the Duck Parts dish. The potato combination, no bueno. Please bring back the original sides. The blondie dessert was delicious as always. I’ll be back soon.

Great customer service from the door to the table. We especially enjoyed the Crab Soup, Fried Pickles and the Heath Bar Crunch Bread Pudding. We would have loved to try the French Onion Rings but they don't serve it at brunch, only dinner. Was also hoping to taste the Lobster Fingers but they were not on the brunch menu.

I was looking for another restaurant but I really believe my Google maps womsn dont like me she sent me the wrong way and I was so hungry and standing right in front of this restaurant so I went here. so I had chicken cheesesteak egg roll which is wonderful. I but into it and the juice from the meat flew out. it wasn't greasy fried just right the meat season well. just one of the best I ever had. I also had the lobster roll which wasn't good too much mayo and no seasoned. my friend had the cream of soup which he enjoyed and the street tacos which he said was just ok. but i did enjoy the French fries that came with each dish very crispy and nice crunch to each.

I want to preface this 3 star review by saying I will be back. And with that visit hopefully raise my review. Started with the the avacado toast which was on point. It really had me excited to move to the next of my order. Honey hot chicken and papa johntay. While I waited, I ordered a Bloody Mary. Presentation was not bad but one sip and I was done. Although on ice, it was room temperature and bland. I dont need extravagant flavors but this had none. I noticed that the mix was on the counter during the whole service which explained why it was so warm. But as with Old Fashions, a Bloody Mary is either good or bad. No in between. So I move on. Finally I get my second round. There was disappointment especially after the great appetizer. The chicken was neither hot nor honey. Very bland. The pappa johntay just didn't didn't strike a chord for me. Looking at it I would think there would be a a cascade of different flavors, but it never materialized. Although I amd not a big sauce person, I was aware it was topped with hollandaise . Sauces should compliment a dish, not push it from center stage. I would have preferred less hollandaise and more Sriracha. With that said I will return. Great atmosphere and eclectic. I look forward to trying other dishes my next round.

We were excited to visit The Food Market. The presentation of food was excellent. However, the food quality and taste were just okay. I was able to enter the building very easily in my wheelchair. However, when we were seated, I was bumped into quite frequently. And we were seated next to the bathroom, which made me nervous being a newly organ transplant. (Yes, I did inform them of my transplant) Our server was great she did a great job informing us about the food and our options on the menu for Baltimore's restaurant week. Taking in the good with the bad, this place was okay. We would definitely consider giving it a second chance on a different day.

5/21/2025 - The last time I ate here was in 2017, and I loved it. We would come several times a month. The service received from the hostess station throughout the entire restaurant was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and didn't forget a thing whenever an item was needed. She absolutely didn't mind handling my requests. The bathrooms were clean. The tables and booths were also clean. Unfortunately, some restaurants that have wooden tabletops are sticky. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great and very pricey for the quantity and quality. Cream of Crab Soup was shockingly delicious. It was luke warm. I'm thankful that I ordered it because everything went down hill quickly after the soup. I added extra crab meat for $10, which made my bowl of soup $24. I think that they make their soup with very little crab meat to force patrons to pay $10 for the crab meat that it's missing. 1/2 N 1/2 aka Arnold Palmers are a whopping $6 per glass. If you don't know what these are......a glass with 1/2 iced tea and 1/2 lemonade. They were unsweetened and tasteless. Wow! Gucci Lemonade (blackberry lemonade) was almost as bad as the Arnold Palmers. Steak Frites (NY Strip) was small for the price. It was tastless and rubbery. $43 Steak Frites (Wagyu) was tough and tasteless. I think that I was lied to because I've NEVER had Wagyu taste like this or be this difficult chew. $45 The steak entrées were served on top of dessert menus. Why in the heck would management allow this to occur. Just place them on the table. This was weird on every level. Stop it! Fresh Cut Fries, of course, were good but needed to be salted. Chimichurri Potatoe Salad was tastless with humongous chunks of potatoes. We spent almost $200 for two Cream of Crab Soups and two orders of fresh cut fries because they were the only items that were actually worth eating. It was shocking to come to an expensive restaurant and not be offered fresh pepper and sea salt shakers. I think that this restaurant charges patrons enough money to be able to afford to offer us better salt and pepper options. I packed up 95% of my meal in hopes of fixing it at home. We were not pleased with this experience at all. Great restaurant if you have Diabeties or dietary restrictions because nothing is seasoned and/or if you want to waste money on overpriced mediocre meals. 7/4/25 - Someone from out of town begged to go to The Food Market, so here I am again. Nicks Double Burger was ok. Had a nice amount of sauce. The sauce made it so the burger didn't need mustard and ketchup. The beef had no flavor. Cut Fries aren't FRESH at all. They must be bagged fries. $5 ummmm, not worth it, especially for the portion given. Deep Fried French Toast was terribly greasy.....YUK! Who came up with this awful idea?

Happy hour is good. I had the garlic shrimp and cheesesteak bao buns. 3 stars because they changed the portion size of the crab balls for the spicy pasta and it used to come with melted mozzarella cheese on top. For $36, the crab is super minimal and not even jumbo lump. Maybe the Columbia location is better.

Pros: lively atmosphere, friendly service Cons: meats cooked at different temperatures, burnt food, etc I was very excited for the menu because on paper, everything sounded creative and interesting. However, most of the dishes were a disappointment. Lamb chops: the 3 pieces were all different temperatures. I asked for medium rare but one piece was rare and another was well done. The flavor was good and I liked the char, but the inconsistency ruined the dish. Sticky ribs: these were highly recommended by friends. Unfortunately, there were burnt edges on the ribs, so I couldn’t eat 1/3 of the dish. Triple cooked chicken: this was decent, my partner liked it but I personally thought the tempura batter was too mushy. Fried oyster “carbonara”: I tried this dish because it sounded interesting. I did really like the softness of the oyster and the crunchiness of the batter! Raspberry gimlet: this drink is amazing! Very smooth. Anyway, I hope that this is not the standard, and that we just happened to come at a bad time. Because I really do appreciate the friendly service and the creativity of the menu!

Nice restaurant. Very busy. Good service. Disappointing food. Yellow Fin Tuna Meatballs were under flavored. The Soft Shell Crab-a-touille was very salty. Roasted Beef Short Ribs were dried.

K
Kenny “RAM” DuBose, Jr

The onion rings in the French Dip were very overcooked but were tasty once they soaked up the broth. The lobster fingers could've used a little less Dijon mustard and more salt with lemon. The wings also needed a little salt and sweetness and/or honey. None of the previous were deal breakers because we killed it all. Lol 😁 The drink (Mary Jane) was tasty although Baltimore seems to be obsessed with putting Old Bay seasoning and salt on the rim of their drinks.

The food is really delicious, staff are friendly even when over worked, but good luck hearing anyone you'd want to. The acoustics at the tables is a serious challenge. If it's just 2 ppl, highly recommend the bar! Foot long mozzarella sticks are so worth it
