Amazing show! It was listed on Trip Advisor as one of the top "Things to do in Baltimore." I could not agree more! Spencer is a phenomenal showman! He's very funny and kept us engaged and intrigued the entire time!!!

IT WAS SOO MUCH FUN. I had a great time, you can tell how much they both pour their hearts and souls into their business and what they do. Their craft is impeccable. Their attention to detail is amazing and the show, the drinks, ambience everything was 10/10.

If you are looking for a great entertainment experience, this is the place to be. Let's start with Spencer. Great magician! But he is also funny, witty, engaging, and an overall fantastic performer. Need more?, Let's talk about the place. Beautiful bar with a speakeasy feel and magical things throughout to interest and delight. They even showed Chaplin movies as we were waiting for show to begin. We were a little concerned about the location in Baltimore but it is in revitalized Federal Hill area that has nice restaurants and shops around. Need more? Let's talk about the drinks. Nicole is a master bartender. One of the best Manhahattans I have ever had (and I have had many). Then tried the Sazerac, which was phenomenal. The Bar experience matched the quality of the show experience. Need more? Let's talk about this team. Spencer and Nicole. It was amazing just watching how hard they work and how well they work together. It is obvious they love this place and are busting their tails to make it work. So go see this show! Don't hesitate for a second. You won't be disappointed. We will be back and will be bringing our friends.

This is the best venue I have seen in decades! Spenser and Nicole were amazing. I have seen many similar shows-this is the best! We had family visiting from out of town and have wanted to make this show for several years. We had our opportunity tonite and it did not fail. Spenser was non-stop the entire show and kept the attention of the entire audience while allowing them to participate. I could not stop laughing and our entire group was entertained. We will definitely recommend and come back with visitors!

Very interactive and entertaining. Not crude or rude but it’s just enough of an adult show in my opinion. (Doesn’t pick on anyone if you have concerns like some comedy shows). Good time and good value, especially with the drinks. Fun fact, parents were in sebum and Bailey and his father was Ronald McDonald for 22 years.

What a great time we had! Spencer and Nicole did their thing to ensure we were tipsy and entertained. I enjoyed the Prohibition Paradise drink; it reminded me of flavors from an old-fashioned. Two was all I needed, and it is a pleasure that two drink tickets come with your purchase. Spencer put on a hell of a show, I tell you. He left me in ooooo and aaahhss, lol, the entire night. He’s energetic, interactive, and also good at comedy lol. They do not serve food, but you can bring your food to enjoy before the show starts. There’s taffy in case you have a sweet tooth, crafts, and other items for purchase if desired. 10/10, I would recommend again!

Fabulous fun night for everyone. Hosted a private party that was a big hit for all ages. Nicole made scheduling and preparation for the night very easy for booking, catering coordination and bar service....couldn't have been easier or gone smoother. Spencer kept us entertained & amazed the whole evening. No one is safe from inclusion in the show.....you are immersed from start to finish.

I had such a great time here with friends! We didn't really know what to expect out of a magic/comedy show but we were definitely wow'ed by the end of it! Staff are also super accommodating: my group and I had some ticketing issues and they were able to work it out with us. My husband and I had a big Baltimore trip planned and this show closed out our last night in the city; it was 100% worth it. The cocktails were fantastic, and I have to give a special shoutout to Kim behind the bar—she made some of the best drinks I’ve had in the city and set the tone for a great night. Okay, I’m so late on this as everything in my life, but tbh I think my tardiness adds to this review. In September of last year I randomly visited Baltimore, looked up cool places, and added Illusions with little expectations… I have not stopped thinking about it. It’s been 9 months, and I can’t stop. Easily the best part of the trip and we cannot wait to come back. From the second we got to the door Spencer greeted us with a smile and a laugh as he took our ticket. I had NO clue he would then jump behind the bar to make our drink with the wonderful Nicole (I got the Devil’s Margarita, still remember how good it was and it’s name, FWIW). Then the actual show was MADNESS. Spencer is an incredible performer, hysterical, personable, and a downright impressive magician. Every trick was better than the last and included people from the audience. Honestly it was one of the funnest things I’ve ever been a part of. When it was over, I could have left a happy man… But Spencer and Nicole invited those that wanted to stick around for a drink and a conversation to stay. We took advantage, probably overstayed our welcome but we so badly did not want it to end. We had a few more drinks and conversations that felt akin to one I’d have with longtime friends. I left that night and immediately pre-ordered 3 decks of their playing cards and have told everyone imaginable about it. 10 out of 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you like fun. The only regret was not getting a picture with Nicole in it 😭!

I spent a hour or so researching things to do while in town and came across Illusions. I prefer to support small business. Lets say I choose well. We had an amazing time. Spencer fully engages the crowd from start to finish. I believe he interacted with every member of the audience at some point. Highly recommended for couples or groups.

The money is so worth it! You have to book weeks in advance!

My husband & I went for the 2nd time on Halloween this year. This time we took my best friend. Once again - we all had an amazing time. My bestie loved it and plans on going back and bringing her partner (and us). Great crowd, delicious drinks, and non-stop laughs. No, really - we did NOT stop laughing - except to say "how'd he do that"! I can't say enough good things about the show - it's a great date night!

When my friend said she wanted to go to a magic show for her birthday celebration I was a little skeptical. But this was such a fun evening out! We went with a very large group for a birthday celebration with a wide range of different ages from 14-70+ and a mixed group of locals and out of towners. Everyone in our party was thoroughly entertained. The illusionist, Spencer Horseman, does a lovely job of engaging everyone in the audience and of providing moments for spectators to become a part of the show. The tickets include 2 drinks, which you can also choose to use for merchandise instead. The drinks were surprisingly well done. I really enjoyed the Hazelnut Espresso Martini. Overall, I think this is a great option for an out of the box night out in Baltimore.

I cannot stress enough how fun of an experience this was! My friend wanted to go here for a while (we have walked by it pretty often) and we've heehawed around but avoided going because we weren't so sure about going to a magic show. Well, his birthday came around and that's what he wanted to do, so we agreed, and man do I wish we came earlier! This was a blast! Spencer (the performer and one of the bartenders) was absolutely hilarious and an amazing magician! Nicole was an absolutely wonderful bartender! The show was a really great experience, Spencer really got the whole audience involved and put on an amazing show! There was also a really great selection of drinks. Do make sure you book a show in advance! It's always packed when you walk by and they have a show running!

Such a fun night out. The venue is small and intimate, which makes the whole show feel personal. The magician mixed amazing tricks with light, easy humor, and the interactive parts kept everyone involved. It’s a great value for the quality of the show. The perfect date night or night out with friends/family in Baltimore! I had attended an Illusions show over 10 years ago and really enjoyed it, but never really made it back, thinking it'd be the same show over again. I was wrong! I went again with friends this weekend and Spencer did not disappoint. It was such an enjoyable experience from the moment you walk in the front door that we will definitely be back. Truly a gem in the area, and I don't think they charge enough for what you get!

My husband and I had the absolute best time. Not only was it our 5th wedding anniversary, but it was our first date without any children and this show was just the right kind of entertainment we needed. We were shocked at the magic tricks and had a good laugh at the jokes. Not to mention, Nicole makes such amazing drinks. We are already looking forward to coming back and bring friends/family next time.

An independent and lovingly crafted operation, Spencer and Nicole provide amazement and warm hospitality throughout the show. This isn't pulling rabbits out of a hat. It takes dedication to have an audience of 40 people participate in a trick and still pull off a reveal to everyone's surprise. And all the while keeping audiences on their toes with a quick wit and fun banter. The cocktails are delicious and incentive. The decor is a delight (we loved the Halloween decorations). Really fun experience. It’s impossible to not have a great time, laugh, and be entertained with some amazing magic. Everything here is very deliberate and conscientious to create a cool environment - from the drink menu to the decor to the service, this was a top experience. In May of this year I travelled to Las Vegas to see a world famous magician. My husband could not stop telling me about this magician and that we should go to Las Vegas to see him. Las Vegas is the last place on earth I ever planned on going - but for my husband, I journeyed off to Las Vegas with my husband and another couple to see the magician. We had a fabulous time in Las Vegas (but I’m never go back) … though I confess, for me the high point was not the magician’s performance - it was the food and the company. I left Las Vegas thinking: Magic Just Isn’t My Thing. Two short weeks later we were going to Baltimore to visit our daughter and her boyfriend. Caroline called to go over the itinerary and said “on Saturday night after dinner we are going to go to a magic bar to see a magician perform” I said: "You have got to be kidding me! We just went all the way to Las Vegas to see a world famous magician and I was unimpressed. Now I’ve got to go to a magic bar in Baltimore??" She said: "Come on mom - they have great reviews on line and they are supposed to have really great cocktails … I think it's about the magic and the cocktails”… So off we went. Spencer performed — He was charming, exceptionally funny, engaging and entertaining. It turns out Magic Really Is My Thing, at least when it’s Spencer Horsman performing the magic! By intermission I was thanking him and telling him he was vastly more talented and entertaining than that world famous magician in Las Vegas (who will remain nameless). And by the way, the cocktails were lovely! Recently my husband and I were throwing a going away party for a beloved employee at a private venue in our hometown of Syracuse NY. The venue is a very charming and unique place, much like Illusions Bar and Theater. We were wracking our brains trying to think of something to make the party special - a very memorable event. We decided to invite Spencer to Upstate NY and see if he would take his show on the road. Low and behold, he agreed. Arrangements were made, and he was a hit!! Once again he was charming, witty, clever and totally engaged with the audience. He can read the room! Our guests called him a magician extraordinaire… priceless! The owner of the venue said it was the best private party that had every been thrown there - and that the magician would never be forgotten. He made the night magic for us all. If you want to see have a fabulously entertaining night, full of humor, charm and incredible magic - go see Spencer, or, bring him to you!!

Had a great time! Went on a double date. The ticket price includes 2 drinks. No eating during the show, so make sure to eat before or after. Also you can't record any of the show either. Spencer the host was so great! His wife is the bartender and made great drinks. Definitely would recommend for a date night. He does ask for guest participation but you can decline. I've lived in Baltimore for 38 years and this is the most fun I've had. Spencer personally greets everyone as they come in and spends time after the show for photos and autographs. Its full audience participation but even for anxiety riddled introverts like me it was a blast. He's kind, charismatic and despite the spooky decor, the place is very welcoming. The place is cozy, not cramped. The decor and music are perfectly complimentary to the atmosphere. These aren't childish tricks but wonderful slights of hand and mentalism. You feel like you've been teleported to a 1920s speakeasy in the best way. It's just mesmerizing. And the drinks are delicious. Bartender and assistant Nicole (who runs all of the behind the scenes) is equally warm, friendly, and talented. Tickets gets you 2 free drinks or you can use one of your tickets for a small souvenir which is nice. 10/10 experience. Truly the best of Baltimore.

I planned a corporate outing here and took a group of 24 as a team building event during the week. From the moment I put in an inquiry online I was reached out to by Nicole super quick with information and pricing. She was very easy to work with and got back to me very quick which I appreciated. We opted to cater in food from Jimmys Seafood for our event so that we could stay in one location for both dinner and entertainment. This worked out great as our guests arrived at 5:30pm and got to eat and drink and mingle for an hour before the show. The venue itself is very quirky and unique which we loved and hosts a variety of memorabilia from the owners family history in the entertainment business. The show itself was super interactive and hilarious. I honestly did not know what to expect when I booked this and was equally excited and nervous about how it would go and how it would be received. I can 100% say this was a GREAT choice and everyone was raving about it. There was so much laughter and the show was more than a magic/illusion show as the commentary and jokes made it especially hilarious. Spencer is a definite showman and you can tell he is a pro at his craft. The way he could handle a crowd and handle whatever came his way was impressive. Our group was also loving their cocktail menu and Nicole was on top of it to take care of our group even coming around to get drink orders during the performance. There is an intermission with the show also which I thought was nice to give people a bathroom break or a chance to get more drinks, food, etc. We used this time to do all of that and also serve dessert before he got started again. The entire experience was very casual and everyone had big smiles the entire time. At the end of the show, we purchased Illusions Bar playing cards for all of our attendees and Spencer signed them for anyone who wanted and we also took pics with Spencer and the group. On the way out they even gave our group a little goodie bag which was just a nice personal touch. If you are looking for a group event, do not hesitate. I definitely plan to visit again in the future with another one of my groups. My only regret is that we did not find this place sooner! 10/10 recommend!

I loved it! Spencer is a fantastic showman. So to give you an idea. The bar is a beautiful old school speakeasy feel. It's very intimate so there is a good chance you will get to participate in the show. I kept going from laughing to speechless to awestruck. It's a great hidden gem in Fed Hill. My wife brought me here for my bday. First of all the service was outstanding. My wife and I had an amazing time. It was non stop laughter and entertainment. The magician, Spencer, was mind blowing. I even made a comment to him referring to him being a warlock because of how astonishing his magic was. I will definitely be returning! Definitely deserves a 10/10!!!

Went this past weekend for a private birthday event. Nicole was super helpful setting up the event, the space was very comfortable for our group of 45. Spencer put on an incredible show that was immersive and entertaining. He was funny, charming, and very friendly. He keeps you hooked throughout the show and disarms even the toughest audience members with his sense of humour. An incredible artist who clearly cares about his art and you can see that every second of the show. As audience, everyone wiIl get involved and that makes the whole experience all the more intimate. Nicole runs the bar and pretty much the whole place as Spencer’s partner and she is an amazing host. I had a mocktail that was incredible and the espresso martini was spot on as well. I’m so glad we got to play a small role in such a wonderful show as well and can’t wait to come back again.

Spencer was phenomenal! This show was laugh-out-loud funny, brilliantly creative, and so engaging that I lost track of time completely. Spencer’s friendliness and charisma made the experience feel personal and fun, not just impressive. Hands down the best two hours I’ve experienced in a very long time. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This show is absolutely worth every penny and then some. You get 2 drink tickets and even the mocktails were perfect! And if you don't spend your ticket you get to trade it in for cool magic kits at the end!

Baltimore is truly lucky to have Illusions! The venue, intimate setting, drinks, performance, everything was outstanding. Spencer is a master of his craft and the passion he has for performing is infectious. There’s so few authentic, unique, and magical experiences left out there and this small business is a jewel for Baltimore. My wife and I can’t wait to come back and bring friends.

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I 100000% would!😁 I absolutely loved the show, ambience & vibe and the drinks. Spencer was nothing short of incredible! Every single act was jaw-dropping, but what really set the night apart was how much comedy and audience interaction there was. From start to finish, he kept pulling people into the experience, making everyone feel like part of the illusions rather than just be mere spectators. It was so natural, so fun, and honestly there was never a dull moment. What I appreciated most was how genuine and down-to-earth he felt on stage. The humour, the timing, the surprises, it all flowed perfectly and kept the entire room buzzing!😁 You could tell he truly loves what he does, and that energy was contagious!🤩 And a big shout-out to Nicole behind the bar — she was fantastic and made the night even better with great service and a warm, friendly vibe! And the drinks were spectacular too!😁 Highly recommend this show if you’re looking for an unforgettable night full of laughs, amazement, and nonstop entertainment 🤩

JUST left the show, my impressions: 1. The venue itself is intimate; two rows of tables. There is no “hiding” and the show is very interactive. To my wife and I this was a positive, just understand you may be asked to participate (but Spencer is very respectful if you don’t want to). Great views of the whole show, sound & sightlines are non-issues. 2. The show is excellent! It is impressive in terms of the tricks/illusions, but also very funny as well. The pacing is good and the content is timeless. 3. The drinks! Two drink tickets are included (as of 1/3/26) and are good for ANY drink on the menu! Cocktails, wine, beer, mocktails, all of it. The drinks are delicious and they DON’T skimp on the alcohol. Honestly one of the best ways to spend an evening!

My best friend and her husband invited me along to a show. I'm very skeptical of magicians because they typically don't impress me, and I'm aware of the usual tricks. I was left speechless by the magic performed. But it wasn't just about the magic. The warm greeting upon entering really made me feel as if I had known the hosts all along. The show was completely immersion and everyone got to be involved. Spencer could perform just comedy and do just fine. I laughed so much and was just beyond impressed with the show from start to finish. By the end of the show, the whole audience felt like we were all long time friends. Nicole made delicious and strong drinks. She was very attentive and also played off of Spencer perfectly. I cannot say enough about the show and the hosts. If you are able, this is a must see experience!!! I will definitely be back again!

My partner and I had a great time at Illusions for a date night. The performance was very well constructed from beginning to end. The tricks were fun, and you can expect to be included (lots of audience participation). The drinks were fantastic, and it's amazing to think the whole thing is put together by just two people, Spencer (the magician) and Nicole (bartending/assisting etc.). There was humor, wonder, and engagement. Strongly recommend for a date night or a fun night out with friends. I'll for sure be going back.

Wow! What a great show. We've been twice and it never fails to amaze us. The first time I went was with a group of friends and I was a little skeptical. Spencer blew us away. His energy and passion to entertain pull you in. It is a fully interactive and immersive performance. The venue is intimate and just a cool place to attend a performance. Because they have a small venue, you really get to interact with the other audience members. We took our adult children back with some friends to experience the show and I was still amazed. The kids had a blast as well. It is a definite gem in the Baltimore entertainment scene.

Enjoyed another phenomenal show by our Federal Hill neighborhood’s ‘teenie Houdini’ SUPER talented magician Spencer Horsman 🃏🪄🔮 The show was incredibly entertaining as always, if you haven’t been I highly recommend - totally worth the $ for the illusions and his comedic performance! Everyone participates in some way, as it is an intimate size audience, and many of the tricks are ‘mind-reading’ and mind-blowing!! 🤯 I’ve been to numerous shows over the years (including my bachelorette party) and each time I’m more amazed as the tricks/illusions get more fantastical 😮

This was such a fun and unique experience. Went with a group and we all had the best time. The bar is cozy and has such a fun vibe. Spencer was hilarious and his show was amazing, we couldn’t stop talking about it after we left. Nicole busted her butt taking care of everyone and making delicious drinks. My husband and I have been twice to Illusions now and absolutely plan on going back again. Always such good entertainment, surprise, and amazing drinks!! Not only does Spencer create an incredibly immersive show, but he also pulls off some pretty mind blowing tricks! During the show, Nicole runs the bar and makes the best drinks in the city, hands down. The ambiance that they’ve created in the space is such a unique experience in and of itself. We had a private party of about 50-60 people and Spencer and Nicole did not disappoint. We had great communication leading up to our event and even better service upon arrival. The location was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our event. Nicole was even nice enough to forward several catering options and to help our event be the best. Spencer was beyond fantastic as a performer. This was not your ordinary magic show, this had everyone on the edge of their seats in excitement and laughter. I can honestly say that I have not laughed this hard in so long. If you get a chance to catch a show or book an event, I highly recommend Illusions Bar and Theatre.

Your not so typical magic show. Amazingly entertaining and definitely worth the price of admission. The two free drink tickets is the icing on the cake. Spencer is an amazing illusionist and every trick he did left you wondering how?! His background story is an awesome one as well. Definitely attend to know about him, his family and his passion of communicating with magic. Also, and probably the most important part of the show, YOU will be part of the spectacle in some type of way, so prepare to be the magician's assistant! The cocktails are classic and delicious. There is something for everyone, whether you are drinking alcohol or not. There is no food, but you are welcome to bring your own during the pre-show. I definitely will be attending again and bring more people to enjoy this amazing show.

This show was everything we needed and more. Spencer encourages audience participation which makes the experience unique. We were laughing with people we may never see again.
