ALGARVEGAN Hummus Bar

This place is literally in the middle of nowhere. In a carob tree orchard with no view but absolutely lovey. The tables and trees create a fun atmosphere. The owner was engaging and helpful. The hummus was to die for. We are planning on going back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The hummus here is honestly the best I’ve ever had – so creamy, fresh and absolutely delicious! 😍 On top of that, the location is just wonderful: eating out in nature, surrounded by peace and quiet, made the whole visit such a beautiful experience. An absolute recommendation for anyone who loves amazing food and a unique atmosphere!

Absolutely incredible! I’m not usually into vegan food — I’m very much a meat-lover — but Algarve Vegan Hummus Bar completely blew me away. The hummus is out of this world, unbelievably smooth and full of flavour. Truly the best I’ve ever had. The falafel? Easily a 10/10. Soft on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside — exactly how it should be. Even my friend, who lived in Tel Aviv and prides himself on knowing great falafel, said this place is on another level. If you think vegan food isn’t for you, this spot will change your mind. Absolutely outstanding!

Great place off the beaten track, maps position is accurate just watch out for the small sign for the turning,its not very clear! Very friendly owner who knows everything there is about hummus and falafel, and cooks it all fresh to order! So tasty! Best Ive eaten anywhere, and really nice shaded place to sit amd enjoy. Vegan and gluten free if you dont have the flat bread.

If you're fond of hummus and falafsl this a must go, must eat. I've been living in Israel and had many trips to the Middle East to taste hummus and falafels, but here in this beautiful surroundings among trees you' ll taste the BEST hummus and falafels ever. The chef has,passion for his job, is very cheerful and does everything to fulfill wishes like if you're on a glutenfree or yeastfree diet. Go before to the public toilet in the village. Because there's no toilet. We'll be back!

Een geweldige smaakbeleving op een idyllische plek. De eigenaar is enorm vriendelijk. We kozen voor het menu voor twee waarbij we een enorme portie hummus met brood kregen om te delen en daarna nog elk een eigen broodje falafel. De kwaliteit is subliem en de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding erg goed. Zeer aan te raden!

El mejor falafel del mundo y el mejor humus del universo. Esto es lo que me dijo mi hijo cuando visitó con su padre la parada de Shahar en el interior del Algarve portugués. Tuvimos que ir a conocerlo. Hay lugares que son más que una parada para comer Hay lugares que tienen alma y esto se aprecia en los detalles que imprime su propietario. Humus hecho a diario y servido a la manera tradicional. Con salsa picante de cilantro y fresca de limón. Con su cebolla fresca de cucharita. El falafel verde y cremoso. Untuoso. Gracias Shahar por desviarnos de la autopista y permitirnos una pausa auténtica y sin prisas.

We can’t recommend this falafel food truck highly enough. The falafel balls were perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft and flavorful on the inside — clearly made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The hummus was silky smooth, the tahini sauce rich and creamy, and the pickled vegetables added the perfect tangy crunch. Every bite was a perfect balance of textures and flavors. The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his food. Service was quick, and everything was prepared with care and attention to detail. If you’re a fan of authentic, top-quality falafel — or simply looking for a vegan, healthy, satisfying street food option — this food truck is an absolute must-visit. We will definitely be coming back once we are in this area again.

Not only the falafel was one of the best falafel I ever had, the service and atmosphere was incredible!! The owner is a nice guy who has a welcoming smile to his customers and puts care and love in the food he is making! The van is set in a nice peaceful farm that brings a comfort while dining and my dog is allowed to walk around while we eat which overall makes a nice experience for the whole family. We even agreed to get seconds after taking the first bite.

The place is really unique. You sit under trees in the middle of the nature. Than there is this lovely owner, who prepares all the food fresh for you. We had hummus, falafel and a dessert. Every dish was great and came with a story and explanation how to eat it the israelian way. We recommend it 100%!

That personal touch made the meal feel more meaningful and memorable. We were also there with our two-year-old toddler, and it couldn’t have been more family-friendly. He had a brilliant time running around, playing on the slide, and enjoying the wide open outdoor space, which meant we could relax and enjoy the food at the same time. Overall, it was a genuinely lovely experience — excellent homemade vegan food, a calm rural setting, warm hospitality, and a great place for families. We’d highly recommend it and would happily return.

Wir haben uns für das große Menü mit Hummus und anschließenden Falafel entschieden, dazu gab es die selbst gemachte Limonade. Wir haben uns die ganze Zeit über wundervoll mit dem Inhaber unterhalten und hatten eine schöne Zeit dort. Das Essen war ein Gedicht. Der Hummus, das Fladenbrot, die Mixpickels dazu, einfach wundervoll... Danach dann die Falafeln im Fladenbrot mega lecker. Wir waren am 26.12.25 dort und waren an diesem Tag die ersten dort. Die Öffnungszeiten auf Google stimmen. Wenn es stark regnet, dann ist die Bar geschlossen. Es gibt ausreichende Sitzgelegenheiten, Parkmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden. I loved going here. The food was fresh, prepared with love and it was delicious. Love the simplicity of being in a land, it was a quiet week day and I got to chat with the owner. He was extremely helpful and friendly. I will be back!

This is a magical place filled with the absolute love and attention infused into the food by Shahar. This place is excellent!! It is a hidden gem with all home made fresh food. The best hummus and falafel we have ever had! The owner is so friendly! It was such a great experience.

Shahar is super nice as well. Hummus is made fresh while you wait. And the vibe is right. Sit down and enjoy. No rush. I should have come sooner. Will be back again and again.
