Huge thank you to our waiter Antonio from Galicia!!! The service was top notch... old school flawless service, super kind and funny and even treated our two dogs like royaly. So rare to find such service in Barcelona. The food was fantastic, they gave us lots of complimentary things like digestif, bread, olives, some snacks for our dogs... phenomenal experience. The arroz negro is top notch, ive never had one filled with so much seafood. We were stuffed. Cant wait to come back nect week!

Don't be fooled by how this restaurant looks. In spite of its size about 300 seats, and no frills atmosphere, the food and service are outstanding. And it's on the beach. Fabulous seafood of every imaginable variety. Including my very hard to find favorite, Norway lobster. The non seafood menu is equally outstanding. My suckling pig was delicious. The service is professional and knowledgeable. We'll be back.

We ordered seafood paella, non-alcoholic beer and wine, for desert a lemon sorbet. Paella was fresh and tasty. We got another sorbet for free and free cake. Our waiter was very friendly and helpfull.

Hacia años que mis padres nos llevaban de pequeñitos. Ahora al cabo de muchos años volvimos a ir...y fue como si no hubiera pasado el tiempo. Camareros de todo tipo y edades, muchísimos eso si. Estuvimos en la terraza que está cubierta. Pedimos Calamares andaluza y Paella marinera. Todo muy rico, la verdad. Y después te traen después de comer unos trocitos de tarta de Santiago como hacia 20 años atrás. Recomendado para comer comida rica, de calidad y al ladito de la playa.

Un punto importante a su favor es que el horario de servicio es muy amplio, permitiendo ir a cenar temprano, o ir a comer tarde, según los gustos de cada uno. Aunque leí comentarios positivos y negativos yo tuve una experiencia satisfactoria. Considero que el trato de los camareros fue correcto, la comida y la paella aceptablemente buenas, y el precio elevado pero razonable. Y la vista desde la 365 a la playa a donde mi mamá me llevaba de pequeñito me resultó reconfortante, y también el chupito de orujo de despedida.

Es un restaurante histórico de Barcelona, conocido por sus platos de pescado y por su paella. Pedimos tres paellas diferentes a base de marisco y todas estaban muy buenas. Es un lugar muy concurrido y, sinceramente, los precios son elevados, algo comprensible teniendo en cuenta la fama del sitio y su ubicación tan turística. Aun así, creo que una vez en la vida hay que probar una paella en el Restaurante Salamanca, forma parte de la experiencia de la ciudad. Probablemente en el pasado fuera incluso mejor, pero sigue siendo un lugar emblemático… aunque, eso sí, con precios bastante altos.

Dining at Salamanca as a group of three, we spent €117 on three dishes: Paella de Pescado y Marisco, Cochinillo Casero de Salamanca Rustido Horno, and scallops. The question on everyone’s mind—is it worth it? The Food: The flavors were genuinely delicious across the board. The paella delivered on authentic seafood richness, while the roasted Salamanca-style suckling pig was tender and flavorful—a true specialty worth trying. The scallops arrived beautifully presented on six individual clam shells, each featuring a single perfectly cooked scallop with [sauce/garnish]. The Portions: For three people, the meal was adequate—we left satisfied but not overly full. This is refined, quality-focused cuisine rather than abundant portions. The scallops, while exquisitely prepared, gave us two shells each, so set your expectations accordingly. The Value Proposition: At roughly €39 per person, Salamanca sits firmly in the special occasion category. You’re paying for excellent execution, quality ingredients, and traditional Spanish technique. If you’re seeking a memorable meal and appreciate fine dining, it delivers. For casual dining or hearty portions, look elsewhere.

We had dinner at Salamanca, a well-known classic in Barceloneta. The reputation for seafood is definitely deserved. Our paella was very good, packed with fresh seafood and rich flavor. The restaurant has a traditional, old-school Spanish vibe, which we liked. It was incredibly busy, so things felt a bit chaotic and the service was definitely slow at times. But for the quality of the paella and the authentic atmosphere, it's still a great choice.

Una gran decepción este restaurante había sido en su momento de lo mejor de la Barceloneta. Ahora simplemente se dedican a servir a turistas a troche y moche. La paella llevaba cebolla con eso lo digo todo la Zarzuela no era nada del otro mundo la pareja de al lado tuvo que esperar para un arroz caldoso una hora primero sirvieron a un comensal y luego a otro en general ha perdido mucho en calidad y servicio. Los precios son aceptables y el servicio deja bastante que desear toda una pena que un lugar así se haya rendido a los turistas que no tienen ni idea de lo que es comer bien.

I visited this restaurant with a colleague for dinner yesterday. While the service was friendly and the food tasted decent, there was nothing particularly special about it. The restaurant’s location and décor seem designed to draw in tourists — the walls are covered with framed photos of local celebrities and politicians. We ordered the seafood paella, which was just okay. The prawns in garlic sauce were actually much better. Be aware that the bread with tomato purée, which appeared complimentary, was later charged on the bill (twice, in fact). We also asked to split one paella into two portions, but instead we received two full servings and ended up having to force ourselves to finish them. The total bill came to €128, which felt quite high for what we got. The almond cake at the end was a nice touch — thankfully, at least that wasn’t an extra charge. Overall, I’d say this place relies more on its touristy location than on the quality or value of its food. There are likely better dining options nearby.

We visited this on our first night in Barcelona based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge, we also ask them to call in and make reservations for us, and it didn’t disappoint! As first-time paella tasters, we found it incredibly flavorful and the portion size was massive. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional. We chose to sit indoors, and the owner personally welcomed us with champagne. Later, the waiters offered us a local complimentary digestive liquor, which was a lovely touch. Prices are on the higher side, but the location near the beach makes it perfect for a post-dinner stroll. One downside: a group of buskers came in to perform music and sing, and while they were respectful, they were quite insistent about receiving tips. It felt a bit overwhelming and disrupted the otherwise relaxed atmosphere.

Hoy fuimos a comer al restaurante de Barceloneta, la paella buena pero quede sorprendida cuando vi que me cobraron por una clara 6,55 , más caro que una copa de vino.. Normalmente estos precios se cobran en discotecas o sitios nocturnos. Me pareció una estafa en toda regla.

Pensé a ser un lugar de renombre, el precio no acompaña. La fideuá no era gran cosa, la paella muy sosa (22€ por persona)y había más guisantes que arroz. 6€ una cerveza lo encuentro excesivo y no me gusta que llegues y te encuentres cosas en la mesa que no has pedido y obviamente te las cobran (nada baratas). El servicio es muy bueno, eso sí.

La calidad de la comida es aceptable, nada mas, preparado para turistas con poca ambición culinaria. Los precios están fuera de lugar. Estuve en una cena de trabajo donde el coste final fue desorbitado. Aprovecharon la circunstancia de ser un grupo con varios extranjeros centrados en una conversación de trabajo y cobraron lo que quisieron y como quisieron. Había también una pareja cantando y pidiendo dinero en mitad de la cena, completamente fuera de lugar. Para no volver !!

Ya no es lo que era. La mariscada a 122€ con 2 (literalmente, DOS!) navajas, mejillones recalentados del mediodía, el bogavante demasiado hecho y todo lo demás, gambas. No vale la pena en absoluto. Por cierto, los ostrones tampoco son del todo frescos y valen 6€, cuando en otros sitios están a 1€. El lugar está pensado para sacarle dinero al extranjero. Lo único bueno es la atención ee los camareros. Por lo demás, no lo recomiendo en absoluto, y era nuestro restaurante favorito de toda la vida.

NO VOLVERÉ. Soy cliente desde hace muchos años, desde que estaba el antiguo dueño, pero ya no es lo mismo. De hecho, todo fatal. Mal servicio, mala comida, de mala calidad y precio desorbitado. Nos trajeron calamares a la andaluza duros y cuando los devolvimos nos trajeron los mismos refritos con ajo y perejil. Me ofrecieron una fideuá que no se podía ni comer, está claramente hecho para el turista y no para la gente de aquí. No lo recomiendo, es una estafa y un engaño para el turista.

Don't go to this place in the evening. My son is an international student in Barcelona and was the victim of minor fraud that was supported by some of the night staff. What happened: On January 13th (at around 9 PM - I hope the owner of the business investigates his staff on this), my son and his roommate were having dinner there. He said that within a few minutes, a small group of men assembled outside of the restaurant. They then entered the restaurant and starting playing music at the tables and demanding money, even though my son and his roommate did not solicit them. They would not leave until my son gave them 8 Euros. Next, these people spoke to the staff in a language that was not Spanish or English and they were pointing at my son and his roommate and it was heard that they were mentioning that they were "Americans". Next, 4 items showed up that were not ordered by my son or his roommate and they said they did not order these items. The restaurant staff refused to reconcile this and forced my son to pay an extra 15 Euros for the items that he did not order and did not touch/eat. I am filing this complain on Google because it is obvious that the people in the restaurant have some kind of scam going with these people that entered the restaurant. They are failing to secure the restaurant from these people enterring and demainding money. I fault the restaurant for allowing these people in and for ripping my son off of about 25 EUR. The staff involved should be investigated and fired. An international traveller should be able to enjoy a meal without being ripped off and harassed.

We got scammed. Amal was our server and she insisted that she will help create the ideal dish for us, without sharing the menu or the prices even when we asked she ignored the question. I wouldn’t repeat or recommend anyone visit such restaurant with no transparency with their customers. We ended up getting charged a large amount and what was supposed to be « complimentary » was also paid later then. The food was average for the price and when it came to tipping, they insisted and charged us more than what we wanted to actually tip. Such comment should not be ignored because this harms a restaurant’s reputation. Please I would advise to be transparent with your customers or otherwise its a scam

I received a recommendation from a local in Barcelona and we decided to give it a try. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant was full. The waiter brought us, without us asking, a plate with four pieces of bread with tomato sauce, then four more with garlic sauce, and a glass of green olives. I asked for a glass of wine and he brought me a small bottle of wine, which he just left on the table. We also ordered a paella, and at the end, when we asked for the bill, we were in for a surprise. They added everything mentioned above to the bill and even charged the paella twice. In the end, we ended up paying 150 euros for almost nothing. Be very careful — it’s a scam, and they are thieves. I do not recommend it.

The waiter persistently recommended a large “fresh seafood” platter — including lobster, crab, prawns, and shrimp — which we eventually agreed to order. Shortly after being seated, we were served tomato bread that we hadn’t ordered, though we were told it was complimentary. It later appeared on the bill. Two musicians also entered mid-meal and then directly requested tips from our table. When we asked for the bill, it took several repeated requests before it was brought to us — totaling an astonishing €1,100, €250 for a single king crab.🤨🤯 Staff then insisted on a tip, hovering uncomfortably while we discussed payment. Overall, the food was unremarkable, the service pushy, and the pricing deceptive. After reading similar reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated case. I would strongly recommend avoiding this establishment. There are far better and more honest dining options nearby.

Tourist Trap! Beware! This place is the definition of a tourist scam. Our group of eight came for dinner, and the waiter would not stop pushing us to order a massive seafood platter — lobster, crab, prawns, shrimp, you name it. Against our better judgment, we agreed. Big mistake. We were charged for tomato bread we never ordered (they said it was complimentary), had musicians show up mid-meal expecting tips, and when it came time to pay, the staff flat-out refused to bring the bill until we asked multiple times. When it finally arrived — €1,100! For average food and one king crab that somehow cost €250. To top it off, the staff demanded a tip, standing right beside us waiting for an answer. The whole experience felt aggressive, dishonest, and uncomfortable. I wish we had read more reviews before coming — there are plenty of others saying the same thing. This is not authentic dining; it’s a setup for tourists. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

The place was very touristy. The waiter was very nice but the food was not good. Every bite of the paella had sand chunks. It also came out very fast and the rice was under cooked. I’m not a picky person and don’t leave bad reviews but this place was not good. They did not charge me for the paella because I complained which I appreciate but would choose somewhere different if wanting to have good paella.

Biggest tourist trap ever! Don't pay any attention to all the 5 star reviews, they will take you through the ringer! We had a party of 8 stop here for dinner. The waiter kept insisting that we order a big portion of all fresh seafood...lobster, crab, prawns, shrimp etc... which we finally ended up doing. We get charged for some terrible tasting tomato bread that we never ordered but were told were complimentary. Shortly after, the waiter allows for 2 guys to come in to play music wich they then insisted on needing tips. After we were finished eating, we asked multiple times for the bill, wich they kept on not bring it out. When they finally did, it was €1,100!! Then they demanded a tip, didnt ask, demanded while they looked over your shoulder waiting for you to say how much you were going to tip. Got charged €250 for 1 king crab🤯 Place is full of crooks, plenty of other reviews that had the same experience, we should have checked into it a bit more. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Today we visited your restaurant. We ordered oysters and paella. The food was… fine, but absolutely not worth the price. The service? A complete disaster. The staff was constantly late and inattentive. We asked for the bill - and waited 15 minutes. No one came. I had to go find a waiter myself because we just wanted to leave. When we finally got the bill, we noticed an extra charge for bread - which we never ordered. We pointed it out, and it was corrected. Fine. But here’s where it gets truly disappointing: the bill clearly stated that service is included and tipping is not obligatory. Despite that, the waiter insisted - not asked, insisted - on a tip. We said no. He asked again. And again. Six times. Like a broken record. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. That’s really unacceptable.
