Love this new place in our hood!!! Great food, super nice service and it closes at 10:30pm!!!! Please spread the word! We need more nice choices that don't shut their doors at 9:00pm in Bee Cave! Nice wines, but could use some cocktails.😉
Visited Bee Cave for four days, loved Bon so much that we came for three of those four days. Seriously, Bon does it right, everything was fresh, delicious and expertly prepared. Service was fantastic as well, staff seemed happy to be there and came off as professional but not stuffy. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your well behaved kids, but get to Bon as soon as you can.
5/5 so amazing, fish was divine and an excellent lunch deal.
Bon is amazing. We get take out rolls just about weekly. The Ashley roll is one of our favorites. Staff is always nice at pickup, and the rolls are consistently excellent.
Very good Japanese cuisine. Rainbow roll was exceptional, and I am used to great sushi in Las Vegas. Miso soup always a good starter. Spicy tuna good. And Inari is a favorite of my sister and this is not always found at other sushi restaurants in Lakeway.
We've been here a few times and it's always been delicious! Good sake selection and our favorite rolls here are the Bon Roll and the Bee Roll. Tempura is excellent also.
We have done takeout a couple of dozen times but have never had a problem. The sushi has always been spot on and on time. I have not eaten in the restaurant but it looks just like one would expect from a sushi restaurant.
Delicious food. We had rolls and sushi. Very fresh and a delight to the eyes. Our waiter was gracious and very knowledgeable.
Best sushi I have had outside of Downtown Austin. Beats out all the others in this area (I live here). Also it’s not too Americanized, ie. smothered in sauces or twice as much rice as fish. Just perfect, incredibly fresh fish prepared with the precision of a surgeon.
Had an amazing dinner at Bon Japanese Cuisine – the teriyaki dishes are a must-try! The staff is attentive and the menu has a great balance of traditional and modern Japanese cuisine. A delightful spot for those craving authentic flavors in a cozy setting.
It’s pretty hard to find truly good sushi in TX but I stumbled upon this place and decided to try. Everything was fresh and not overstuffed or topped with a million sauces. The space was very nice and we enjoyed our meal start to finish. They also had a shiitake roll which I haven’t seen since living in NJ so extra brownie points for that. A solid 9/10.
Bon has some seriously good sushi. They have a wonderful selection of many different rolls and varieties. They're picture menu is also enjoyable to look at when deciding. You'll end up wanting to come back and try more! Tuna poppers for a starter. Rolls for dinner, cheesecake for dessert. You can't go wrong. Can't wait to come back.
This place is awesome. They have a ton of gluten-free options where normally you wouldn’t get them. The food is that fully prepared and beautifully plated. The sushi was fresh and each different type tasted like it should. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a great sushi restaurant in this area.
Wife and I love this restaurant. Sushi is fresh and so tasty. Service staff is friendly. Not too busy. Don't know why this place isn't packed every night as it's really that good.
Bon is my local go to for Japanese food - especially sushi. I frequently order takeout which is always well packaged and comes with a good amount of soy, wasabi and chopsticks. I came in for lunch and found the lunch special to be amazing as well. We got more than enough food and fast service at an excellent price.
Nothing but great food and service ! This was my first time there and the sushi was very delicious! Every roll was unique and had a different taste and all of them full of flavor ! The staff was very friendly and the space was clean. Will definitely come again.
Amazing. Wait staff is competent, nice, and patient, which is super helpful for a large family group. The chefs are super friendly too and welcome people in and out. Oh yeah, and the sushi is great. Try the deep fried salmon.
This is a hidden gem in Lakeway in front of Falcon Head neighborhood entrance. We tried takeout during quarantine and then dined in afterwards. Service and food was excellent both times. For dine-in, the waitress was knowledgeable and owner very welcoming and appreciative. Prices are very reasonable! I loved the rolls, gyoza, and sushi/sashimi. My wife’s favorite is the tempura which has a light crispy batter. Bon has nice indoor seating that was spaced appropriately but no outdoor patio.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Lakeway. Great food, friendly staff, not much more you could ask for. I especially love the tempura sushi here. The beef dish is to die for. I've only found a single thing on the menu that is mediocre: the ramen is a bit uninspiring. Steer clear of that, and everything else is amazing.
I love this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like this location. The food was great especially the mochi ice cream, tempura dinner and appetizer, the dragon and caterpillar rolls. The sauses were very delicious. I will highly return to this restaurant. Last night was my 1st time it was a great experience.
Bon is an amazing restaurant. But ALEX is A MAZING manager and server that goes above and beyond for the customers well being. Very knowledgeable for sure 👍 thank you Alex for your service.
Excellent sushi and sashimi. Plus if your kids aren't into that yet (mine is and gives major thumbs up!) their Japanese fried chicken is amazing, way better than the usual 'chicken fingers' you get at restaurant xyz. Not to mention udon, tempura, etc. . Great service, nice atmosphere. We'll be coming back for this one!
Had a lovely meal at Bon. Akira-san and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. The food itself was delicious. Akira-san was very gracious when I asked if I could practice my beginner's Japanese. Highly recommend.
My mother and I come here almost weekly. 😂 Amazing sushi and wonderful service! 10 out of 10.
What a wonderful restaurant. The food was outstanding, really fresh and absolutely superb. A great selection of Japanese beers to match the menu. The friendliest staff I have ever encountered, we were made to feel like visiting family from the moment we entered. This was the best sushi I have ever had, and the rest of the extensive menu was absolutely enticing. I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Loved this place! Had dinner here - the atmosphere, service and food were all great! I liked that they poured fresh soy sauce at the table after we sat down instead of the kind that sit out on tables for who-knows-how-long. We had an appetizer and three rolls. Everything was delicious and the presentation was professional and elegant.
I rate it the best Japanese restaurant in greater Austin area. The master chef, Akira-san provides authentic Japanese cuisines. Every dish is fresh and delicious. Staffs are attentive and friendly. The contemporary interior design is just neat and cozy to enjoy a nice meal.
The owner is very nice and professional and the sushi chef is amazing. The chef was in New York and Florida before coming to Austin. Very experienced. The wait stuff is a bit Young and inexperienced and not Japanese unfortunately, but very friendly.
Best sushi in Austin! Great service and the food is fantastic.
This place was such a hidden gem. The food was great, the people were kind and offered great service, and it's such a nice little atmosphere. We are excited to finally find a good sushi spot so close to home and will definitely be back!
Wonderful service and food! They were very busy and we were taken excellent care of! Keep up the good work! We loved it so much it was gone before we took pictures…we had the king Salmon, cowboy roll and the Austin roll along with several appetizers and spicy ramen 😋
BEST SUSHI PLACE EVER. I came here because I felt a little 日本語. The service is great - with a native Japanese sushi chef letting me practice my Japanese! Their sushi was made with such great quality - you could taste every flavor in it! Even the atmosphere in the building was great. They have chopsticks for people who want to eat the traditional way, and utensils for people who don't prefer chopsticks. The party room feels like you're entering in a mini Japanese home, or maybe that's just me. Overall, a great place. Definitely recommend coming here, whether you want your food to-go, or dine in.
Good service. Sunday lunch was pretty quiet. The menu had a lot of options with some unique selections like the fried rice roll. Good quiet place to come with excellent traditional options and local ones.
Absolutely the BEST Japanese restaurant!!! Staffs are amazing and friendly, atmosphere is perfect and food ...OMG I have never had such a fresh and delicious Japanese food!!! Even better than Japan!❤️
Delivered everything we were looking for in a sushi experience at a high level.Food was fresh and well prepared, well organized and inviting menu, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. First time here but definitely not the last.
Bon has an amazing selection of sushi. We went there a few times and were surprised and happy by the freshness of their food. Since moving from west coast were were looking for a sushi place to be our "go to" place and BON became our place since our first visit, there is no other Japanese place around to compare. Servers are super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is family friendly and also has a side for parties or more private seating (I guess!?). We always have a good experience at BON. I recommend this place to any who want to have good food and good service experience. Cheers!
Our favorite place ever! The staff is so friendly in the food is AMAZING!! Easy place to take your kids also!
Bon Sushi is hands down the best! Always fresh, high-quality, and absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and every visit is consistently amazing. Highly recommend!
My new favorite sushi place near Lakeway. They have the freshest tasting fish, best service, and atmosphere.
Excellent Dining and a pleasurable Feast! Our waiter Shawn was Super attentive and very Helpful ordering meals. Thank you definately love this Place!
I was starving today when I came to eat at Bon! They have a wonderful lunch special in which you can pick one “choice role”, and then receive Nigri and Sashimi Chef picks. This is fun because you can pick a roll and then you can also get surprised by some delicious food. The special comes with edamame, miso soup, and a mouth-watering salad. It was within the $20 range. I would say that this is a great deal for the high-quality of sushi and food that they offer here. They do not rush you, and the environment is very relaxing. It is perfect for a social gathering, Family dinner, or even just a solo excursion! I highly recommend Bon Japanese Cuisine. My server, Shaw, was very patient, informative, and attentive. The hostess who greeted me, Vee, was a very cool gal. She made me feel super welcomed when I came into the restaurant alone and even periodically checked on me to make sure everything was going smoothly and excellently. Come check out Bon Japanese Cuisine! PS the food is phenomenal. I want to reiterate that!
This place was amazing 👏. The food was great quality and service was fast. I highly recommend.
The sushi here is very good, especially the uni and toro nigiri - each bite was fresh and melted in my mouth, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The udon was another highlight, with a flavorful broth and perfectly tender noodles that complemented the sushi experience. The restaurant’s interior is tastefully designed, combining modern elements with a cozy, inviting ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience. Whether you’re here for a quick meal or a leisurely dinner, the atmosphere and food work together to create something truly special.
I have had the honor of tasting great, and mediocre, as well as plain awful sushi around the globe, and Bon's unassuming exterior and simple decor belie the exemplary fare they serve. When you taste great sushi, you just know. From the melt-in-the mouth super fresh fish & seafood to the simple but hugely complex art of perfect sushi rice that is just the right temperature, humidity, consistency and taste, Bon's chefs are right up there with the best of them.
I felt as though Employees genuinely enjoyed serving me as I never felt bad about asking question after question about my gluten free intolerance, they went out of there way to make sure I knew that any menu items were custom tailored to my needs. And the food was stellar of course. I am definitely going back.
Ordered the Ceviche tasting plate, edamame and strawberry mochi. About 30 dollars.Wanna be a baller, shot caller Twenty-inch blades on the Impala Call her, gettin' laid tonight Swisha rolled tight, got sprayed by Ike.
Best sushi in the south west side of town! Not only is all the plating beautiful, the fish tastes fresh and delicious. But my favorite thing about going here is how friendly everyone is, amazing service.
Service was great and friendly. The food was nice. There are so many choices which is awesome. I like the atmosphere and the interior design. Very close to my office, great location. I will recommend my colleagues to visit again.
The food is really good, one of the best Japanese restaurant in Austin! The server also nice and taking care our table all the time. Definitely will come back again.
ALWAYS absolutely fantastic. I have not had a roll I didn’t like from them. Super high quality and service is always kind and efficient!

Bon Japanese Cuisine – Review Bon Japanese Cuisine offers a cozy and authentic Japanese dining experience. The menu features classic dishes like sushi, sashimi, tempura, and ramen, prepared with fresh ingredients. Pros: - Fresh and well-presented sushi and sashimi - Flavorful ramen and other traditional dishes - Friendly and attentive service - Calm and inviting atmosphere Cons: - Limited seating, so it can get busy during peak hours - Prices are a bit on the higher side but justified by quality Overall, Bon Japanese Cuisine is a great spot for Japanese food lovers seeking quality and authenticity. Rating: 4/5
I live in the neighborhood behind Bon and I'm thrilled to have such a wonderful sushi restaurant so close by in Lakeway! I'm a regular customer and the sushi never disappoints. It's so fresh and flavorful. Also, try the lemon drop martini, my fav!
Bon sushi has amazing food and the customer service cannot be beat! The interior is decorated beautifully, and the food is plated thoughtfully, and it tastes good! It’s a hidden gem. I love sushi, and I can say this is my favorite sushi restaurant! Get the tofu dish for sure if you decide to get any apps!
If I could give 10 stars I would! Found our new go-to sushi joint. Raw food was fresh, rice was sticky and delicious, and service from Rudolph was above and beyond! I always test a sushi place by its miso soup, ikura with quail egg, and hamachi‐kama. This place soared in all categories. I divulged in a few other rolls - the Alaskan and the Fireman - which were also fresh, creative, and delicious. Bonus stars for them having a very decent wine menu with old world, European selections! Can't stand the big label Cali wines that dominate most all sushi places and do not pair well with the food. We'll be back!!!

Highlights worthy truffle edamame. The sesame sticky rice was excellent. As was the miso soup. Tried oysters with tempura breading and sweet tartar sauce was odd and overwhelmed the oysters. The Chilean Seabass likewise was overwhelmed by a sweet sticky sauce slathered all over it without an option to scrape it off or having it on the side. That would be a better alternative. We split the sea bass and without any alcoholic beverages the bill was $60 at dinner. Not bad at all. I look forward to trying some of their other items on the very diverse menu.
Ordered the food to go and when I got home the first thing I noticed was the portion size was small. The taste and flavor were great, but for the price of each roll is expensive. My husband and I ordered 4 rolls and are still hungry…
Great place to eat for a date night. The bon tasting plate was great (except for the excess truffle oil on one of the non ceviche fish appetizers). I ordered a lobster roll but wouldn't order it again- it was very flavorless. Tempura was fantastic.
Best sushi option in the Bee Cave/Lakeway area. While all the rolls I tried were very good, their nigiri could use some work. Lots of tough silver skin in every piece I ordered. Overall a good menu.
Really yummy sushi with great presentation and fresh ingredients. Service was a little spotty, waitress did not have the best timing. Floor manager took good care of us though, so all in all a positive experience. I would go back.
Now, I have to be honest and say I haven’t had that much sushi in Austin. So I don’t know how it compares locally. But I do eat it a lot in NYC. Our experience here was great. Because we had a large party, we were seated in a private room, which was nice because it was a bit quieter than the main dining room. Service was patient and friendly with our large unruly group, if a little slow at first. Sushi was fresh and flavorful. My family was skeptical, since it’s a new place and they love sushi and have high standards. But it passed the test. Will definitely consider returning next time I’m in the area.
Nice place. Wonderful staff. We sat at the sushi bar. Super fresh fish and a lot of variety. It was a Tuesday and they got the yellowtail that day. The salmon was also wonderful. The roll we had was riceless which was a good change.

I've always had an average opinion of this restaurant. Food was ok, just small portions. I visited this restaurant for one of my favorite dishes. But recently I was very disappointed. Portions were very small instead of small. When they brought my favorite dish, I thought that someone had already eaten it. Half as much as before, even the sauce could not put enough. And the taste has not changed for the better. Complete disappointment. Will never return to this restaurant again.
This place has very good sushi but it’s something about the vibe of the Owner and some of the employees that is off putting. Not as friendly as you would expect.
Edit here - last time we came in the food seems to have declined a little. It was still good, just not GREAT like it used to be. Also super awkward that despite having been long time regulars and always taking care of the staff, we were ASKED TO LEAVE at 238 because they “had closed at 230.” We had barely finished but had already paid our check. It was bizarre and uncomfortable. It’s not like we were trying to order food after they closed or anything. Hands down the best sushi in Austin. We drive 40 minutes to eat here because the food and the service are not to be beat.
While I have had better sushi in Austin, Bon is definitely in the top three in the Lakeway/ BeeCave area. Their Bon roll is my favorite along with the Bee and TX. We also love their beef gyoza and chicken karaage. I didn’t try any of their sake but they seem to have a good selection. The prices are on the higher side, but I am ok with paying more for good sushi. Very helpful and friendly staff. We got everything we ordered quickly.
Our waitress was great. However there seemed to be a problem with the chef, and we never got our appetizers/they didn't come out until AFTER our meal... The entree wasn't great either.
This used to be our favorite sushi place and ever since Henry, one of the owners, has been gone it’s lost its pizazz. The quality of the fish seems to have gone down and tonight’s 10 piece sashimi was almost inedible. All the fish was slightly warmer than comfortable, scallops were chewy and fishy, and the tuna which is typically our favorite has this odd smoke flavor. I was glad to see they were busy but a guest spilled their wine all over the floor and it sat there for a solid 45 minutes with the owner and staff walking over it. By the time we left , the rush had died down with staff and owner alike standing around while guests were forced to walk around the huge puddle of wine and “wet floor” sign that the owner placed 30 minutes prior. Just odd.
Located conveniently off the 620 and plenty of parking. Make sure you are parked out front instead of the back where we parked. Oddly, the back has a big lighted sign and looks like the entrance until you walk up to the door and see the sign that says "go around". We were seated right away on a Saturday evening with no reservations. It's a large restaurant and even has a room for private events. Our server came over right away and took our drink/appetizer orders. We started off with the Edamame and Seaweed Salad. The Edamame comes either with salt or truffles; we had the salt but wish they would offer a spicy version like most places do these days. The seaweed salad was a generous portion but was drowning in the dressing. Great dressing but just too much. For the sushi, we tried a few pieces of Tuna and Yellow Tail. The portions were very good and the fish was quite fresh. For rolls, we had a Philly Roll and a Sunset Roll. The Philly Roll was just okay; very little Salmon and the salmon wasn't great. It wasn't bad fish, but it was just "okay". For the Sunset Roll - salmon, shrimp tempura, crab and masago. This was a delicious roll! The service was good but a few things that were a bit unusual. We had to ask for soy sauce and when the server brought it out, he poured it but wouldn't leave the the container with us. The place certainly wasn't so busy they couldn't afford to let us have our own and pour as we felt rather than having to ask our server each time we wanted some soy sauce. Very odd. Overall, the service is good and the sushi is pretty fresh. I'm sure we will come back again.

The food gets two stars. we ordered a baked crab hand roll, a lobster roll and a spicy scallop roll. The baked crab was okay but it had a lot of a cream cheese-like filling. The lobster roll was very disappointing. A piece of lobster, cucumber and a bit of avocado wrapped in rice. That was it-no sauce, no flavor and the lobster was partially frozen. When we mentioned it to the server, he said that previous customers also said the lobster had no flavor. It would have been nice if he told me that when I ordered and then given a suggestion of another roll that was a customer favorite. The restaurant gets 0 stars. We went for an early Sunday evening dinner at 6 pm. The restaurant was 50% full, as specified by the COVID regulations. By the time we left at 7:30, every table was full! We asked the waiter why they weren't following the COVID rules and he said he didn't know. I try to support the local non-chain restaurants but since the Bon owners weren't concerned about my well-being, I won't be concerned about theirs. We won't be going back.
For me it was....meh. Pros: Greeted and seated promptly, cool visual menu, clean restaurant and restrooms. Our waiter was friendly and tried to answer our questions. Cons: Taken back when the waiter poured soy sauce into a dish, I'm rather picky about the sauce to wasabi ratio and just not thrilled with the waiter not explaining this since he knew it was our first time. Second, fish portions were small, specials on the board didn't have prices and the roll selections were just okay, lots of fried roll options, not a lot of clean fish combination options. The service wasn't bad, but he came to check on us too often to start and not enough half way through. My Advice: The competition is real in Lakeway, so either improve quality and service or the business may not survive. Go dine at your competitors and see how they roll (pun intended).
The food quality should not differ between dining-in or take-out. Customers should not check and ensure take-out food should be what it is, especially for a sushi restaurant. I spent $123 for a take-out dinner for a family member in the Baylor Hospital at Lakeway. I was very disappointed at the food quality. The service and atmosphere do not fit the food quality.
Quality of sushi has gone downhill unfortunately. They now charge you per refill for non-alcoholic options (iced tea, etc). The new all-you-can-eat option is only if the entire party also participates at $39/person. Will not return. :(
Dropping from 4 to 2 stars. Service still meh. Mostly a revolving crew of teenagers, it seems. Went again tonight. Teenage waiter speaks on a near-whisper level in a loud restaurant. Appetizer comes out after main sushi. Sushi was brought out by owner, the older guy with the airpod in. Held the plate with almost 50 bucks worth of sushi by his chest and was talking to us. Yay spittle on the food. Tuna nigiri came out with a dot of jalapeno relish or something on it. Odd choice for what should be an awesome piece of fish. Well, it wasn't firm, but nearly falling apart and the spicy stuff was to mask the taste of the fish going bad. Weird service/savings: they skimp on soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. Just tiny amounts. Very odd. We're taking a break. Too bad, because it's a pretty convenient location. ------- Original review Food: typically good. It can vary a little day to day, but overall the fish seems quite good. Interesting rolls, some can be a bit heavy on sauce, so make sure to choose carefully. They have pictures! Service: truly hit or miss. Often a miss. Last night our waiter took drinks and appetizer order, but I guess didn't write down the appetizer. When asked when our main meal came out, it was a typical teenager response: no apology and some mumbling trying to find the fault elsewhere To the owner: please train your staff better at taking orders and customer interaction. Also retain some senior wait staff. All in all it's a good local place, just be aware of the teenagers.
I don’t like to give crumby reviews, but the sashimi was really disappointing. It was a little slimy, it smelled more fishy than it probably should 😅, and had a pungent flavor. The eel was a little better than the tuna and the miso soup was decent. This may have been an outlier, but it was not what we were expecting. Maybe the rolls with rice or something else is a little better. The serving sizes were also pretty small for the price. I hope your experience is better than ours - happy eating!
It has high rating so we picked it. Easy parking, right in front, and a lot of open table. Maybe it's lunch time and weekend, it was pretty empty. Kids always order the same, basic salmon maki. Judging from how slow they ate and didn't finish, it wasn't the greatest and I know they are still hungry. We finished and went to another spot to fill up our stomach. Great service otherwise...

The service in this restaurant is great, and the food is good, but the prices are high...and on top of that, not what you'll be charged. Items priced at $30 on the menu came back at $33, another priced at $10 came back at $14, with no warning. I spent a lot for 2 people and at least $30 worth were sneak attacks...dishonest menu~!

Came for dinner on Friday night. Food quality was good (very small portions for edamame and miso soup is like a little cup) and atmosphere was good... Service not so much, actually terrible. Never caught our waitresses name until I over heard it from another table. I had mentioned to my other party about maybe ordering a certain appetizer, but we both clearly said that we’d stick with just the edamame. One of the chefs walked out with the aforementioned dish and asked us if we ordered it to which we clearly said no. Then the waitress had the audacity to come back and say did y’all not order this. We both looked at each other and told her no, to which she replied so you don’t remember the conversation we had about y’all wanting this. She had an attitude the entire time following. Barely came by to check and serve us our soy sauce. (they don’t leave soy sauce on the tables they ration it out to you) Overall experience not good. Better off going to somewhere near by.
Me and my fiancé came here for her birthday and the waiter accidentally took our order wrong and the manager “JiM” proceeded to chew him out in-front of us at our table. Completely ruined the vibe and our dinner. The management here does not deserve they staff that works for them
Extremely disappointed. We've enjoyed eating there before so we recommended it to our 17 year old. We gave her money to take her friend and her sister so they went to try it. Despite the restaurant closing at nine pm, our kids were in the middle of their meal at about 8:15pm and were told that the restaurant was closing early and that they needed to finish and leave. If this had been a table of adults I doubt this would have ever happened. Our children had money to pay for their meal and should have been treated with the same respect of any other patron. We will not be back as a result. A shame.
It's tough to provide consistent sushi given the need for fresh fish, I get it. I've had mixed experiences at some restaurants and continue to go back because I know it's hard to manage the inventory. That said, what they served me last night as salmon sashimi was absolutely criminal. It was slimey, no firmness to the meat, and had a horribly fishy taste. I almost spit it out. They didn't charge me for it, but the fact they even tried to serve it says a lot about the "chef" running this place. I will not be back.
Tough experience last night here ... I ordered sashimi and received extremely small portions of salmon, hamachi, tuna and eel and was charged $68 ... The Manager was unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation. I'm typically supportive of small businesses whenever possible, but I would have to recommend avoiding this restaurant.
I have ordered take out multiple times from BON and have dined in. However, today I was disappointed. I Ordered takeout lunch - a sakedon bowl. Unfortunately the order was not heard correctly and a roll was made instead. The roll had tempura which I could not eat. I requested the sakedon bowl and waited to have it made again. I had to pay for both the $18 roll and the $28 sakedon bowl even though I did but take the roll. Aside from the frustration of having to pay extra the value / portion of food you get in the sakedon bowl was not worth $28. I will not be ordering from BON again.
I hate the feeling of being ripped off and that’s how I feel now. Wife placed an order online. Salmon bowl. The gentlemen confirmed the order and after talking to him to confirm the miscommunication his pronunciation of roll vs bowl is difficult to distinguish. When my wife arrived to a salmon roll she let the gentlemen know that is not what she ordered - there are ingredients in the roll specifically the tempura that she can’t eat. At checkout the gentlemen charged her for the roll and the bowl. My wife did NOT take the roll and communicated she can’t eat it yet was still charged. I called to speak with the gentlemen and after firmly holding his ground arguing that we was correct he said he could not void the sushi roll but we could come back and he would pay us cash for the additional charge of the food that was not taken. Only problem is we live 30 minutes away and driving an hour for $16 is not worth it. Leaving this one star review subject to change if we ever find ourselves near the restaurant.
We went at noon. The place wasn’t busy. The service was bad. We were seated right away. When the waiter brought us our salads we told him we were ready to order. He said he’d be right back and then he went to another table to take their order. Then he walked away. It took him awhile to come back and take our sushi order. It took awhile to get our food and the place wasn’t that busy. The waiter walked away after bringing our sushi. I then had to ask him to bring over some soy sauce and wasabi. He pointed out there was wasabi on the sushi. My dad and I told him we like to mix wasabi with soy sauce. The guy poured our soy sauce in the dish and then took the bottle of soy sauce away. I’ve never heard of that. We gave the waiter our credit card and said we’d like to pay before he left with the soy sauce bottle. My mom flagged him down after awhile and gave him the finger to come to the table. He then walked to the cash register to ring up the bill. We will not be returning. The sushi was mediocre and kind of fishy tasting.
Hello, I recently visited Bon Japanese and had an issue with the fried crab dish I ordered. It had a foul taste and smell, and even your cook acknowledged this when I sent it back. However, I noticed that I was still charged for more than half of this dish. Could you please clarify why I was charged for the crab despite its poor quality and being returned? I'm concerned about this experience and food quality would appreciate your attention to this matter
Unfortunately the experience was soured by something very uncomfortable. During my visit, a member of the management (or possibly the owner) loudly berated one of the waiters right in the middle of the dining area. No one should be treated like that, especially in front of customers. It showed a real lack of professionalism and respect. The food may have been fine, but I won’t be returning. Treating your team with dignity is just as important as what’s on the plate.
I was waiting for about 1 plus hour to just pick up the order. They literally ignored me for an hours. Thats the disrespect. I would never go there again
Why does owner like to scream at his employees and slam his hand down on corners to get his point across... while his wife laughs... loud enough for guests in the restaurant can hear it all??? 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽GROSS BEHAVIOR. PUBLIC APOLOGY!! Waiter was wonderful. Hopes he finds a better place and PEOPLE to work for.
I had an extremely frustrating visit to Bon Japanese Cuisine. Their all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi promise was a complete letdown. My kids and I waited over an hour, only to receive gyoza and miso soup. The service was painfully slow, leaving us hungry and dissatisfied. We left and will not be returning. This was the worst dining experience in the area, and I caution others looking for a reliable AYCE sushi spot.
Second time here. The first time, the roll was not good but I did my best to eat it halfway and then I ordered something different because it was not good. I got the fried calamari. I still told the waitress I would be back because she was nice and attentive and I love sushi. I enjoy good service. This time, I ordered the Lakeway Roll and asked the guy about it. He said it wasn’t his favorite, and now I understand why. I like scallions but the way they cooked them and topped the roll looked like worms, and the texture….it was disgusting. When he presented that to me it looked so bad. And before I ate it I said that looked so weird. I tried one bite and I did my best not to throw up. I was under the impression it would be cooked in my roll. I started looking at the menu for a different roll, like the last time. Not exactly good if you visit a place for a second time and still not like it. And the same nice waitress from my first trip came by. I was telling her that again I didn’t like the roll but I was gonna look at something different. Well the owner or manager or whoever, he overheard and came by and said that’s how they cook it and that I was more than welcome to order something else but he would still charge me for it because cost of food. Ummm what?! First off that’s not what what I was saying. Which I understand because I used to run restaurants and familiar and of course, inflation. But for you to walk by and straight up assume that I want a free meal and tell me that you’re charging me for it when that’s not even what I was saying. I totally felt stereotyped. I’ve never been treated so rudely. Who are you to assume I can’t pay for my meal? I live in the area, I can afford my meals. I was taking a relaxing dinner and that ruined it for me. Won’t return. Advice: don’t treat your customers like this when they were literally going to pay for something different.
