We visited a few months ago for lunch, and it was such a coincidence to find this place in the plaza — it had actually been recommended to me before. Of course, we had to go in. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. They greet you when you walk in and when you leave, which I really appreciated. Honestly, it took us longer to look at the menu and decide than it did for the food to arrive — everything came out so quickly and efficiently. We ordered the corn ribs and the signature ramen, and both were incredible. For dessert, we tried the sesame cheesecake — a bit exotic, but delicious. Even my baby loved it! The only thing I wouldn’t personally do again is pair soda with ramen — that was just my choice. Other than that, it was a great experience.

The food tastes very good. The broth is rich and the noodles are thick and stretchy (pardon my lack of descriptive words). I personally like the signature ramen over the garlic one. The restaurant is on a smaller size so wait time can be long. Service was great. Servers were attentive to our needs.

Best ramen I ever had in my entire life! The noodles had a nice texture with creamy broth! The ingredients were also super fresh! I had the Vegan Garlic Knockout ramen, and it tasted delicious! My friend had Classic one, and she also loved it! I will definitely comeback to try different ramen! Just be prepared for a little wait outside- but definitely worth it!

Good vibes all around been going to tigers den near here for a long time and decided to try something new and head here. Service was great, food was even better. The signature soup was very rich and creamy and the takoyaki had very tender and large octopus chunks. The Texas BBQ ramen bowl tasted like it was straight from the Texas rodeo and had a super smokey and delicious broth. Overall I will be going here from now on.

Men Sho absolutely delivered. I had the Wagyu ramen and the chicken karaage, and both were exceptional. The tare in the ramen was beautifully layered — deep, savory, and perfectly balanced. It gave the broth this incredible complexity without overpowering it, adding that signature umami backbone that keeps you going back for another spoonful. The wagyu itself was the highlight. It had this rich, creamy, almost nutty flavor that melted into the broth and elevated the entire bowl. Every bite felt indulgent but still refined — not heavy, just deeply satisfying. The chicken karaage was crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right — a perfect contrast to the ramen. Between the flavor depth, quality ingredients, and thoughtful execution, this was easily a five-star experience. Can’t wait to come back.

Great service, best ramen in Houston! The broth savoryness is on whole new level! Even the water tastes good, loved the place! Definitely coming back!

This was the first time ever I was trying Japanese Ramen & I am glad I chose Mensho which is Michelin Recommended for Ramen. My experience was fantastic from being instantly seated & then guided through the dinner by our wonderful server Agnes, who was knowledgeable, caring, friendly, enthusiastic & carried a happy infectious energy. Agnes strongly recommended G.K.O. Ramen & we loved it. Supremely delicious, large portion size & it lived up to its Michelin recommendation. Their staff in a unified voice greets every single person in Japanese when they enter the restaurant & also bids goodbye in Japanese when you leave, which is a really nice gesture. This place is extremely popular as it was chockablock even late on a Tuesday evening. Weekends I am told it’s not easy to get a table. I will return soon to try their Signature Ramen.

Mensho is absolutely incredible! The ramen was so delicious and rich in flavor; truly some of the best I've had. Beyond the food, the atmosphere and service were fabulous. We had to wait outside for a little bit, but the line moved fast and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was super nice and took the time to explain the menu and ensure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be coming back again!

Pulled up to Mensho and yeah, Michelin star ramen is not hype here. The place is tiny, so when you get there just accept your fate, you are standing outside. There is always a line. Usually 30 to 45 minutes. No skipping, no tricks, just vibes and patience. That said, they run it clean. Staff is organized, efficient, and actually friendly. Line moves faster than it looks and nobody feels lost or annoyed. It’s low stress waiting, which matters. Now the ramen. Absolute heater. Some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The broth tastes like real quality, deep, rich, and intentional. Not salty for no reason, not heavy in a bad way. Noodles are perfect, toppings hit, everything just works. This is the kind of ramen that makes you stop talking mid sentence because you need a second. Once you sit down, the wait instantly becomes irrelevant. You forget you were outside. You’re just locked in. Bottom line, yes you will wait. Yes it’s small. But it is 100 percent worth it. If you like ramen at all, get in line, trust the process, and enjoy one of the best bowls in HTX

We reached there 5 mins before the closing time of 2:00 pm but waitress was kind enough to take our order while she find a table for us. We were lucky that we got seating. Ordered classic ramen with spicy sauce..broth was so tasty with only couple slice of pork. Ambience is great with friendly staff. Loved the experience!

The moment I walked into Mensho, I was transported to a cozy alleyway in Tokyo. The warm welcome from the friendly staff instantly made me feel at home. With a delightful selection of comfort food and drinks, Mensho is the ideal spot for a memorable date night or a fun catch-up with friends. Each dish was simply perfection! I can't wait to return and explore more of the tempting options on the menu!

My fav ramen place hands down! There is a reason why this place is always popping. They have a lunch menu which is easier to eat there during lunch. The dinner menu is much better but usually there is a long line. The area it’s in is challenging to find parking. The inside is a typical ramen place it’s a bit smaller than some ramen places because I think they’re going off of like a Japan style with sitting at the “bar”. The servers were attentive and asked if there were any food allergies right off the bat. I’ve been here twice already and love the signature ramen it is so flavorful with all the ingredients in it. It doesn’t cost as much as any other typical ramen spots because of all the toppings you get. I believe this place is also Michelin starred. This place is a must try if you love ramen. 🍜 they used thick noodles and the meats inside of it just blends perfectly with the broth. I also tried their Enochi chips which is like a crunchy fried mushroom. You really can’t even tell it’s a mushroom it was more like a crunchy tempura type of side. It came with a side of some spicy powder which wasn’t spicy. To be honest I threw in the enochi chips into my Ramen just to give it some more crunch and that actually worked out!

Hyped for a reason. Excellent ramen here at Mensho. Be prepared to wait in line, outside, around peak lunch or peak dinner times. They have a very organized system for letting people in and you will have to be put on a wait list. Also, be sure to have your entire party there ready for seating. The food was absolutely wonderful. I got the signature which came with several different meats such as A5 wagyu, duck, chicken, and pork I believe. The noodles had a nice bite to them. The broth was rich, but not too salty which I enjoyed. It almost reminded me of a curry consistency but not quite. The flavors came together so well. The karaage was sooo delicious as well. Perfect crisp, a little sweet, and not dry at all. We enjoyed the eggplant and shishito pepper on the karaage app too. This place is a high recommend. The price is a bit steep for ramen, but I think the taste, quality, experience, and friendly staff make up for it. A must try if you’re in Houston!

Fantastic ramen as long as you are willing to wait a bit. We both had the fried enoki appetizer, garlic knockout ramen and vegan garlic knockout ramen. The broth was flavorful and all the vegetables in the dish were perfectly cooked. Highly, recommend checking them out.

I’ve eaten ramen in dozens of cities across the US, from the west coast to the east coast and as a Japanese person myself I’m pretty picky with it. That being said I think the bowl of garlic ramen I had here is in my top 3 ramen bowls I’ve ever ate. Thick, creamy, and flavorful broth, quality noodles, and delicious add-ins made it a perfect bowl. It’s a little pricier compared to other places but not to the point of being annoyingly expensive. I’d 100% fly back to Houston just to eat here again. I waited about 20 minutes for a table (not bad at all). The restaurant is quite tiny but ambient and the service is great. The workers are really nice and constantly check in on you. I also appreciated they accommodated for me when I asked for the spice on the side! Also the blonde haired guy doing the check-ins was pretty cute. :)

Food: -Signature Ramen: The first bite had such a deep flavor that makes you forget about all the other ramen places you've tried. The broth was perfect - rich and creamy without being overpowering (I did not feel big back after this), AND it didn't separate into those clear and cloudy looking broths elsewhere - perfectly emulsified. The noodles were the perfect thickness and chewiness...god...makes me excited for Japan Portion was just right with way more meat than other places, and I didn't have excessive amounts of noodles or broth leftover because the bowl was so well balanced. The meats were also all very tender and not dry at all. -Matcha Kinoko: on its own, the fried mushrooms did taste good and were crispy (they stayed crispy throughout my entire meal as I was eating my ramen) but did not have much seasoning, so I was ALMOST let down until I dipped them in the matcha powder. Very faint matcha flavor with the perfect amount of salt and made the appetizer soo good. I felt like it was very intentional. The slight oiliness helps the salty matcha powder stick at the right places. Service: everyone was kind, the wait is just kinda brutal. 10/10 couldn't think of what could make my meal better. I normally don't pick up my bowl/plate at a restaurant, but I picked it up and finished the broth the second time I went (2 days later).

The food was great, the ramen was spicy and packed with flavor and umami. The matcha pudding made it even better to cool off I highly recommend. They had cool Japanese sodas like this yuzu flavored one I had. And my server Ming was one of the best I’ve seen throughout my years working in food service. He was quick, attentive, and knew what he doing when giving great customer service. Highly recommend coming to this location.

Absolute recommend trying this spot! We got the Super Angry Waygu Ramen and the Waygu Texas BBQ Ramen. The ramen was unique and different but still gave you all the comfort/cozy warmth you’d expect. The staff was amazing. The host, Kevin, was able to manage numerous large parties before us and also determine an accurate wait time. Our server, Agnes, gave us some amazing recommendations on food and drinks. The kitchen staff was working non-stop to ensure everything got out to the customers as quick as they could. You could tell everyone who worked there was working together to give the best service they could. They’d pick up and fill in for each other whenever needed and it just provided such a welcoming atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening so our wait time was an hour, but it was worth it for us. If you don’t want to wait that long, the staff recommends coming M-Th evening.

This place is small and cozy, and it’s always busy but somehow we always manage to get a table. The staff are super friendly and the food comes out fast. They also take the time to ask if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, which I really appreciated. We asked for no pork, and they made sure none of the dishes had any — even suggested swapping the pork in the Signature Ramen for chicken or duck. That kind of attention makes a big difference, it showed how much they actually care about their service. They’ve got a great mix of ramen options. Chicken, duck, wagyu beef, pork, and even a couple of vegan ones. My friend and I tried the Signature Ramen and the Vegan Garlic Knock Out. The Signature was insanely creamy and flavorful (my friends opinion). He also said that this Ramen is easily one of the best he has ever had. I do believe him because the Vegan Garlic Knock Out had a nice spicy kick that worked perfectly with the creamy broth. We also got a side dish, fried fish (forgot the name of the dish) it tasted fresh and well seasoned. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely coming back to try more of the vegan options next time!

I still prefer clear soup. I ordered their classical soup with rice. I think noodles may match better with the creamy soup. And their original dish is noodle. The egg cooked perfectly and everything in the soup is very fresh. The whole place is small but very japanese feeling very authentic japanese style except their employees are very friendly and welcoming. The real japanese waiter or waitress are usually very very quite.

If you want authentic Japanese ramen or real bone broth with depth and flavor from slow cooking, this is not it. They may look pretty with strange fusion style, but to us Taiwanese or East Asian immigrants, we can immediately tell the difference between hours of slowly cooked bone broth and sesame sauce diluted with other ingredients. Please don't get me wrong, the reason why I emphasize Chinese immigrants is because both my elderly parents and I are immigrants, and we notice that this restaurant is quite popular with 1st generation younger Asian Americans and people with other ethnicities, but we were the only table with middle age and elderly Taiwanese people 😅. To my elderly parents and I, we just don't think their ramen is our cup of tea. In our minds, this is all some expensive hype without the right kind of noodle and soup. The soup tasted creamy but lacked salt and the umami flavor that we were used to and looking for. We even paid $2 for some "spicy" chili paste with chili powder in the middle. We added as much as we could, yet we still couldn't taste anything 😭😓 Here, their noodle is quite thick and hard - we don't use that kind of noodle for ramen or any soup noodle. Perhaps, this kind of noodle could be used for dry stir-fry noodle dishes 🤷🏻‍♀️ - the texture sort of reminds me of Panda Express' chow mein. It is just quite odd to us for them to be using this type of noodle... Check out the review I left on Tenjou (23rd St in NYC) - now that's some real and fantastic ramen if you ever get a chance to try that. Look is not everything. Besides the soup and noodle issues, we also felt that the meats are really bland... Another pretty decent, more authentic ramen place that's closer to us is on Mason Road in Katy, Texas (Aji Ramen) - way cheaper! I think we will stick with that in the future whenever we have a craving for ramen. Try it, so you can compare the two yourself ;) Service was good once you are seated. The wait was 30-45 mins around 5:20 PM in the freezing cold. They are quite strict about where to stand when waiting, and you need to have everyone from your party present before they can sit you. When I was trying to pay, they prompted me with 25% tip ($46 in my case). I'm sorry, unless my waiter helps me with a medical emergency, stops a thief/robber, or puts us in front of everyone else, so there is no wait, I'm not going to tip anyone almost $50. If the owner charges double and triple ($40 for the Texas BBQ tantanmien 🤯), the rent is likely lower than other places nearby because how tiny the restaurant is, the owner should be able to pay its wait staff a decent salary. On a positive note, the appetizers and sushi were pretty decent.
