FINALLY found the very best pizza in North Carolina. I'm not kidding. I am from New York and I know great pizza. La Piazza Express in Benson is the best. Their pizza has a lot of high quality cheese, sauce, and dough. I spent 6 years looking to replace the pizza 🍕 I soo miss from New York. Just when I was about to give up, I found La Piazza Express. The owner is from Brooklyn, NY and believe me, he knows that pizza should be made with the best cheese and alot of it. Get some of their garlic knots while your at it too. You won't regret it.
This is the kind of neighborhood gem you’re lucky to have nearby. Family-owned by a true Italian, the food here is authentic and full of flavor. The sauce is outstanding — rich, fresh, and perfectly seasoned — and the pizza is the kind that keeps you coming back. The atmosphere isn’t fancy; it feels more like the inside of a deli than a formal restaurant, but that’s part of its charm. You come here for the food and the friendly, not white tablecloths. If you’re after genuine Italian comfort food made with care and love authentic Italian food, then consider this place
Just a little hole in the wall place and a small strip mall this pizza joint has some delicious Stromboli, but don’t be fooled. The small is the size of the small pizza and packed with fresh ingredients. Served on a pizza pan. I imagine that the medium and large Are the same but there’s no way one person to eat them. The food was very good. the service was fantastic. The atmosphere a little lacking, but that’s to be expected places like this. This is a Jim. We shouldn’t miss out on food like this.
New York brick Pizza oven makes delicious Italian style food made from scratch with a red sauce that’s out of this world. Ownership is from Italy. We had a meatball sub and a Calzone. Truly had the best flavor we’ve tasted in a long , long time!
I just love the friendly hostess. The pizza and garlic knots are great. The delivery driver Friday and Saturday is really nice and goes above & beyond.
This place is awesome. You need to check it out if you are any of the following: from the North East, Italian, like good food. Made from scratch dough, pastas and sauces. Great ppl, great food, locally owned and operated. Six stars, and thank you Carlo!!
Funny owner, great dough, excellent service. I highly recommend buying their dough and making your own pizza at home. Walk over to the food lion next door and get some fresh salami, fresh mozzarella and whatever else floats your boat. YUM!
Our local Italian restaurant was closed tonight so we decided to give this place a try. Ordered two chicken parm’s and a small Italian sub. The spaghetti noodles were very large like they have been sitting in water a while, the chicken cutlets were very soggy with oil, probably would have been better if they had sat and dried for a min. The Italian sub was pretty good, the best part of the meal actually. And for 51$ I would have thought it would be better..
The foods alright, pretty negative environment from the few times I’ve been in, even though I tip very well compared to some on takeout. Will probably eat again since there’s not much competition around here. And yes they do smoke right out front next to the door. C’mon y'all…. go out back…. and put some smiles on. Hope I can update this in a positive way!
This tastes nothing like Anthony's. Not sure what the difference is but this taste like Veneros.
Updated 8/30/25 This has been my go to place even though prices are high. I think they have new owners but I am done. I ordered their calzone type roll and they were so greasy I could not eat it. I will never eat here again I am grossed out. I lowered the score. I’m from NY and was very pleased with their pizza. We’ve been getting our pizza here since we moved to Benson. I always thought the prices were high but was willing to pay it because it’s hard to find real good NY style pizza. But tonight I ordered 2 chicken parm subs with fries. She said $41 I was shocked. I did the math and couldn’t figure out how it came to that. She said there is a packaging fee. So on top of having high priced food they add a processing fee. I guess I need to go back to Jordan’s. Maybe the owner will read the complaints and make a change. Hopeful
I’ve ordered here several times and they just cannot get it right ! I always request well done on the crust…. I cannot understand why they keep getting it wrong… what’s up with them slicing the pizza?? Nothing worse than soggy pizza that ends up tearing when you try and grab a slice!
Stopped in on our way home from the beach. Snapped a picture of my stromboli, which was raw. It's definitely dough, and you can see unmelted cheese in the photo as well. The onions and peppers were raw. All of the components were at least warm. Flies were everywhere. At one point the waitress was fanning the flies away from another table and when paying, told us "the flies are extra." Lol. Before I left, I needed to take an emergency #2 bathroom break, maybe from the raw dough, and the bathroom was occupied. When the customer in front of me came out, she informed the waitress that the toilet handle had broken off when she went to flush. I had to destroy the bathroom in the Food Lion next door. The people were nice, at least. Probably won't be coming here again, but if I do, I may try pizza instead.
Ordered from here and when our delivery driver went to pick up our order…the restaurant said they were closed even though the app says the order was almost ready!! Worst service EVER! Reported and being an out of town visitor…highly disappointed. Where I come from, we don’t treat customers this way.
I will never eat three again . On scale from 1 to 10 I would give them 6 keep give me burnt pizza . I don’t like to complain but they got to be the worst pizza .
The girl with black hair was licking her fingers to open the bags watched her do it twice that’s unsanitary. Will take my business elsewhere….

It was so much better when they had sunny running it. They used to treat you like you were family everytime you came in. Now its just rude people, no one pays attention to their customers and they get an attitude when you ask a simple question. It just gets worse and worse everytime I go there its sad. Especially since I used to be a loyal customer that ate there twice a week....
Don’t do it. I was looking for a quick lunch spot and this is definitely not it. My food was burnt and I did notice it until I got home. I wanted to turn around and take it back.
Avoid at all costs!!! 3 Employees out in front smoking and making reek of cigarette smoke. When they went inside none of them went to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer. Also an underage girl took my take out order which I am pretty sure is against the law. They also had groceries all across one of the tables. Pizza boxes stacked all up on the counter. I think a call to the DOH is needed because it is not very sanitary. Stop going to this place because it deserves to go under!
From the moment my family walked in, we were met with unprofessional behavior from the staff. Four young employees were sitting at a table on their phones, and when we informed them we were dining in, the girl who greeted us tried to pass us off to another staff member, who refused to assist. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was unacceptable. The floors, walls, and bathrooms were filthy, and all the trash cans were overflowing. There was no soap available in the restrooms, which is a serious hygiene concern. It was clear the staff were more focused on their phones than maintaining a welcoming and clean environment for guests. Due to the poor service and unsanitary conditions, we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable and left. I strongly suggest that staff be retrained on customer service and maintaining basic cleanliness standards. I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve the experience for future customers.
I would avoid the Benson location. Ordered a Vodka pie and was extremely disappointed. There were 2 pieces of pizza without cheese on it, and the pizza dough was raw in the middle. I understand that the Vodka pies aren’t totally covered with cheese, but I at least expect some cheese on each slice since cheese is a topping. Couldn’t eat it due to the raw dough and my family wasted $24. I’ve never had an issue at the location off 42, but this experience has really turned me off 😞
