I had the pleasure of dining at The Preacher’s Son for dinner to treat myself while I am in town. From the moment I walked in, the experience was truly memorable. Wes, the host, greeted me warmly and shared the story of the building—how it was once a church for many years before later being transformed into a unique three-part setting: a speakeasy below, a balcony bar above, and the main restaurant in between. Walking into the church-turned-restaurant was breathtaking, with every detail of the architecture adding to the charm. My server, Fiva, recommended dishes that weren’t necessarily the most popular on the menu, but the flavors said otherwise. The Tartare for the appetizer and Duck breast for the entree were simply outstanding—each bite felt like that magical “Ratatouille” moment of instantly falling in love with a meal. I enjoyed a moscato for dessert and that filled me up. The atmosphere was just as impressive as the food. The staff worked seamlessly together, creating a smooth and welcoming dining experience. The portions were perfectly sized—enough to satisfy without being overwhelming—and the pricing felt very reasonable for the quality. I also appreciated the thoughtful details, like fans set up outside to keep flies away and the comfortable spacing between tables. One of the highlights is that the menu changes often, which makes me excited to come back and discover new flavors. This time, I only dined in the restaurant, but I’m already looking forward to exploring the speakeasy downstairs and the balcony bar upstairs on my next visit. Overall, The Preacher’s Son is more than just dinner—it’s an experience I’ll happily return again.
The best meal of my life!! The well rounded flavorful dishes, the customer service, the ambiance and buzz. Shakira further enhanced the experience with her recommendations. I'm not local and would book a same day return flight just to come back and eat dinner here again.
Definitely one of our favorite restaurants. My grandfather actually preached here when it still functioned as a church, so my family is quite proud of it and excited that it is such an excellent restaurant. On this particular occasion, we celebrated a family member getting married and the staff here took great care of us as we enjoyed a multi course meal. We all agreed that every item over the course of dinner was delicious and service could not have been better. With fun bars located upstairs and downstairs as well, this place is a must if you are in the area.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Sadly, we did not get a chance to have dinner here but we did get a drink at the bar and an appetizer. We had croquettes for the app, CHEFS KISS 🤌🏻 It was so so delicious! I did not try any of their special cocktails, I just had a dirty martini, which by the way, was very well done. With only one bartender, she was very attentive to everyone sitting at the bar while also making drinks for all the people in the restaurant ; wonderful service! Also! If you’re into whiskey, they have a wide variety of hard to find allocated bottles which you can try a pour of ; we thought that was very cool to see. If we’re ever back in town, we’ll put it on our list to have dinner here!
Lord knows, to my surprise I enjoyed every moment! Try the Burrata! The steak and the salmon are both solid chooses too. Being good isn't always easy, especially with these delicious desserts and extensive wine list! We loved the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. Looking forward to visiting again! Come hungry and make a reservation and don’t forget to make time for the coat closet downstairs.
We had a lovely evening celebrating our anniversary. The food was wonderful and the service was great—thanks Vlad, you were awesome.
Really enjoyed our visit to the Preachers Son! We had multiple small plates (forgot to take pictures of those) before we had our entrees. My wife had the Wild Boar Fettuccine and I had the Monkfish. We really enjoyed everything! We will be back.
Great food, chef pays attention to the details of the meal and the desert chef creates delicious desserts. A bit expensive but very unique atmosphere and food made it worth the cost. Highly recommend.
A rare 10/10. Starters were well composed and incredibly tasty. Get the croquets. For a main I ordered the steak and shrimp. After 2 bites I knew it was in my top 5 best dishes ever. Cauli puree was well seasoned and silky. Shrimp were seared to achieve a crust but not overdone. The hanger steak was beefy, tender, and held the bourdelaise which was velvety and rich. Somehow the savory bread pudding beneath the steak was the star. Herbaceous. Fragrant. Complex. Not to be outdone, our server, Lindsay was perfect. Genuinely kind and helpful. Not pushy or going through the motions. Thanks for a great evening.
I travel for work both domestic and internationally and have been to numerous so called “high-end” restaurants. This comes in as one of my top 3 restaurants. Great food, not an overwhelming wine list and unique space. I hope to revisit here when I’m back in Arkansas.
Absolutely loved the service and food at this unique church turned restaurant. The dining room is beautiful and the food matches with presentation and flavor.
Took my wife here for Mother’s Day and we had an amazing time and the food was spectacular! We both had a couple of their signature cocktails and they were spot on. The Parisian Gnocchi was fantastic and we both enjoyed the Hanger Steak as well as the sides provided. For dessert we both had the Swiss roll cake and it was decadent. Our waitress Lindsay did an amazing job taking care of us and we look forward to returning again!
One of the coolest restaurants I have ever been in. An old refurbished church, I honestly just would have been happy sitting in a chair hanging out there. But the food was also great. Squash fritters with whipped feta were special. Wild boar fettuccine was a solid 4 out of 5, a little heavy. The swiss roll and pecan ice cream were wonderful. Would recommend, wonderful overall experience.
First time coming here with my girlfriend and it was amazing. Great food, great service, and the building itself was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend coming here for a nice casual date.
We love preachers son! The burrata appetizer and fish were 10/10 amazing! The chicken was good but didn’t have a wow factor like the other two dishes! My husband felt celebrated on his birthday and enjoyed his cheesecake ( especially the strawberry sauce on the side). We will definitely be back!
While on a trip to Bentonville, our VRBO host recommended Preacher’s Son for a celebration dinner. We made a last minute reservation on a Thursday evening, and it was the highlight of our trip! The service, the cocktails, the food, and the rafters of this converted church were beautiful. Our server offered excellent recommendations based on some of our prefences - we could have made a meal of only the appetizers, it was so hard to decide because it all sounded so delicious! We can vouch for the delicata fritters which were better than anything we ever imagined they would be. My husband nearly cried over the carbonara, and I enjoyed some beautiful mussels. When we couldn’t decide on dessert (we ordered the Swiss cake roll and a mint dessert cocktail which was a fantastic recommendation from our server) the cheesecake we decided not to get, was sent over comped. And that cheesecake was beyond. So light and creamy with the freshest strawberry compote, and the lime zest really put it over the top. Don’t think you can get a slice of cheesecake like this one anywhere- it is heavenly. More than anything, I can’t say enough about how warm and welcoming each of the servers who took care of were. Whether it was our primary server, the gentleman bringing over our cocktails, or any one of the servers refilling our water, we felt pampered!! We will be talking about this experience to everyone we know and list Preachers Son as a “must” when visiting Bentonville.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here on January 28th. Our waitress Lindsey was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond. Our anniversary felt extra special. The food was top notch! Everything was perfect and couldn’t have been better. Thank you to everyone at The Preacher’s Son.
My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement at The Preacher’s Son, and it was truly perfect. So many staff members congratulated us and were genuinely excited for us. Our server was amazing and helped get our meal out quickly so we could make it to our engagement party. The owner even came by our table to congratulate us, which meant a lot. They surprised us with the sweetest gift basket at the end of the night, including a framed Polaroid they took of us, plus other thoughtful goodies. The food was incredible, and we were treated to complimentary champagne and a mid-course. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. The Preacher’s Son made us feel so special on such an important night!!!
A Divine Dining Experience in a Converted Church Overall Impression: Preacher's Son offers a truly unique dining atmosphere set within a beautifully repurposed church. The combination of the striking historic architecture and a creative, high-quality menu makes for a memorable evening. While the acoustics can be lively and parking requires some planning, the exceptional food and efficient service make it a destination I would highly recommend. Ambiance & Setting The concept itself is fascinating—a former church sanctuary transformed into a modern restaurant. The owners have done a commendable job preserving the historic feel while creating a comfortable dining space. * Layout: The tables are reasonably spaced, allowing for a degree of privacy. They've clearly made an effort with soundproofing, but be prepared for a lively and loud environment, especially when it's full. * The Bar: One of the most talked-about features is the bar, which is situated prominently where the altar would have been. For me, this was an interesting cultural observation and certainly serves as the room's focal point. * The Speakeasy: I've heard rumors of a speakeasy in the basement, which only adds to the building's allure and unique character. Food & Drinks I was told the menu is entirely gluten-free, and while I did not confirm this myself, the quality and taste of every dish were outstanding. * Appetizers: We started with the beet appetizer, which was vibrant, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The other starters we sampled were equally appetizing and set a high bar for the meal. * Main Course: The star of the show was the Salmon. It was cooked to perfection—flaky and flavorful. It was served over a very unique, slightly sweet gravy-like sauce that complemented the fish in an unexpected and delightful way. It's a dish I won't soon forget. * Cocktails: The cocktails we ordered were decent and well-prepared, serving as a solid accompaniment to our dinner. Service & Logistics * Service: The service was prompt, quick, and efficient. Our server was attentive, and the meal was well-paced from start to finish. * Parking: There is a nearby parking lot, but it fills up quickly. We arrived at 6:00 PM on a Tuesday and still had to hunt for a spot, so I recommend allowing extra time. * Reservations: This place is no secret! It was full shortly after we arrived, with a line forming at the door. I strongly recommend making a reservation well in advance, even for a weeknight, to guarantee a table.
The restaurant is in an old church that has been remodeled. The windows are beautifully decorated with window art and furnishings. The wait staff was kind and attentive, although the food a very long time to come out. We had the butter ut squash appetizer, which was ok, not our favorite. The Blackened Salmon, Fettuccine, Duck Breast and Shrimp and Grits were all nicely presented and tasted very good as you'll see in the pictures. It had lots of great cocktails creations. The desserts were a simple selection. All in all a wonderful experience. Definitely would come back to try other things.
