I was recommended by my host to visit here and I’m glad I did. This restaurant combines an efficient friendly service that feels like you’re going your family’s home. The service is welcoming, homely, not intrusive and eager to please. I was dining alone and the staff tried their best to find a table for me inside as I hadn’t booked. I was more than happy to sit outside, even though they could accommodate me inside eventually. I ordered the stinco de maiale with polenta and it was delicious, comforting and just what I needed along with a red wine from the region. Visit this restaurant if you want a local, intimate dining experience with great service. I’d recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.

Took the casoncelli to go. It was 14€ and it was really good. They were pretty surprised with me picking the food up?? I guess they don’t do take aways?? They didn’t have a fork and knife to give me.. lol The girl that works there is nice. 😊

Fantastic food. I had the Ossobuco which was one of the best meals I have had in quite a while. The meat came apart using only a fork and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Presentation is homestyle which suits the environment and the richness of the flavors well. You can tell they are using high quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, vibe is good. Service is very friendly and competent, busy but not overwhelmed. Some tourists were present but locals come here as well, which is another good sign. Prices are more than fair. I was lucky to be seated promptly at around 7.45 on a Wednesday night without a reservation, you should probably still reserve, especially on weekends. Grazie mille!!!

Very nice restaurant with great food! I had the pork knuckle with polenta, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was so tender you could eat it without a knife. Highly recommended!

We came for dinner and it was great experience. Really tasty food with accompanied with wine. Only disadvantage is poor selection of non alkoholic beverages, they had only sparkling one. And huge shoutout to staff, they speak really good English.

Had dinner at this lovely place. Warm welcome by the staff, who all spoke well English. Started with their meat and cheese platter, which was the best platter we ever had (and we have traveled a lot in Italy!). Everything on the platter was amazing. We then had the traditional casoncelli, which was slightly disappointing, but not bad at all. We have eaten Casoncelli at other restaurants in the Bergamo area which were better than here. The casoncelli’s had a slight taste of cinnamon, which we found a bit odd. We also had pappardelle which was very good. All large portions so we had no room for dessert :-) Can really recommend this place.

What an absolute feast for the mouth! I had tried to enjoy the food at la Scagna on my first day in Bergamo but the place was sold out for that night and the following lunch. Luckily I could visit it a few days later before leaving Bergamo. The casoncelli were superb. A wholesome taste that was worth the trip I did from a near town. The polenta taragna was delicious and incredibly rich. I love strong tastes but I found the wild boar to be maybe even too strong. The beer from a local brewery was a great match for the food. I wish I could have been able to eat also dessert but unfortunately it was not the right night for me. I found the personnel to be extremely kind. They also helped me in any way when on my way out I bumped into problems finding a taxi. Definitely a place where I want to come back when in the area!

Truly incredible. The customer attention was excellent since the moment we opened the door of the local, it was quite full, but they found us a spot for us in a matter of seconds. Then, as a present, they gave to us a little bread with tomato and oregano (I think) and a kind of wine that was spectacular. Then a waitress told us the menu of the day in a perfect English and took care of us along all the dinner. The polenta with cheesse and bacon was great, bit the ravioli... filled with pumpkin cream, and mixed with butter and cheese... it was astonishing, I could eat them all day. But everything that we saw looked so good and tasty that I wanted to try everything in the menu. The price is really good, cheaper than other locals the food were way better. The local, the music and the ambient were just perfect to be relaxed with friends, family or a date. *Is a bit difficult to appreciate the quality of the food in the picture, but just because we were willing to taste the food!!

Ristorante situato in centro, locale ben tenuto. Consiglio di prenotare nel week end. Cibo ti buona qualità , ho apprezzato specialmente i casoncelli, mi sono piaciuto davvero tanto! Piccolo locale in centro a Bergamo. Ambiente caloroso e ben arredato. Ottima selezione di vini. Personale attento e cortese. Ci hanno dato un calice di prosecco di benvenuto e una bruschetta con i pomodorini. Il menù non è ampio, ma ci sono tutti i piatti tipici del posto. Porzioni abbondanti e ingredienti di qualità. Prezzi leggermente alti, ma per la tipologia di ristorante ci sta.

Locale intimo e tradizionale: già il pavimento ti fa sentire come se fosse domenica a casa della nonna! Consiglio di prenotare! Personale molto gentile, sorridente e disponibile! Il servizio nei giusti tempi! Molto carina l’idea di offrire una bruschettina nell’attesa. Come antipasto abbiamo scelto un tipico tagliere salumi e formaggi e una ciotola di polenta Taragna (la trovate nei contorni; credo all’interno ci fosse anche della salvia.. molto gradevole). Come portate principali abbiamo scelto i casoncelli, buoni ma niente di eccezionale. Come secondo invece il brasato con patate, davvero buonissimo, si scioglie in bocca! Unica pecca il sorbetto, che però non credo sia di loro produzione, aveva un sapore particolare ma potrebbe essere un gusto del tutto personale.

Location molto bella e caratteristica con atmosfera tranquilla e intima. Menù con piatti tipici della cucina bergamasca; l'elemento centrale è quasi sempre la polenta, sia negli antipasti che nei secondi. Lo consiglio per i turisti che vogliono provare piatti tipici stando comunque nel centro della città. I prezzi sono nella norma, non troppo esagerati e non troppo bassi.

Risotto ai funghi porcini squisito Tagliere per 2 ricco e gustoso Servizio sempre molto attento pronto e cortese. Ambiente rustico caratteristico e accogliente Ci torno di certo . PS mi ci ha portato mio marito che ci era stato sotto Natale con un gruppo di amici. Piacevolmente colpiti dall ottimo cibo e dall ambiente.

Pranzato in questo locale in stile rustico. Ottima accoglienza da parte del personale di sala. Optato per menů lavoro (15 euro a testa) con primo, secondo e contorno, 1/2 di vino Marzemino bergamasco sfuso rosso in due, e 1 bottiglia d'acqua minerale gassata. Caffè ☕️ Primo: fusilli in briciole di pane. Praticamente una pasta aglio olio peperoncino e pane grattugiato tostato. Buono nel sapore un poco oltre cottura per il mio gusto personale. Maccheroni speak e pomodoro gustosi. Secondo: straccetti di pollo alla birra con contorno di polenta e verdure bollite. Tutto molto gradevole. Caffè ☕️ buono buono! Ci ritorneremo sicuramente una sera a cena per assaggiare menù alla carta. Qualità materie prime: buona

Locale carino ma poco caratteristico, pietanze buone, il coniglio con la polenta era ottimo, meno i primi, troppo burro per i miei gusti. Servizio poco accogliete, e non preparati, ma soprattutto, solo 2 camerieri per una sala con circa 20 persone da servire che oltre a servire dovevano prendere le comande, gestire la cassa i conti.

Il ristorante è carino,In pieno centro bergamo e qui finisce il bello. Impossibilità di parcheggiare quindi tenere in conto già 10€ per il parcheggio a pagamento a meno di parcheggiare fuori bergamo. Sono molto sorpresa delle recensioni di questo locale, forse il giorno in cui io e il mio gruppo abbiamo pranzato, qualcosa è andato storto. Difficilmente ho incontrato un personale così scocciato nel corso del servizio con atteggiamenti passivo-aggressivi continui.Il cibo era insipido e cotto un po’ a casaccio. Hanno servito dei piatti di polenta con pollo, praticamente immersi nell acqua. Forse lo chef quel giorno era triste o molto stanco….perche anche io, con le mie doti davvero minime nella cucina, so che se il pollo fa acqua in pentola va fatto asciugare!

Don't understand the other ratings. The food was below average. The salmon was not freshly cooked, the food was tasteless. The waiters are nice. Nowhere comparable to my other experience in other restaurants in the region. At least it's relatively cheap...
