Had such a great experience at Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill on the Upper East Side. The space is really cozy and perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends. We started with the crab rangoon and veggie dumplings, both delicious and flavorful. For drinks we tried the Pomelo Mai Thai and Berry Margarita, which were refreshing and well balanced. For mains we had the miso veggie ramen and pineapple fried rice with shrimp, and both were excellent. The pineapple fried rice especially had great flavor and generous portions. We finished with mango sticky rice, which was the perfect dessert. Also worth noting — they have a huge vegetarian menu, which makes it a great spot if you’re dining with friends who have different dietary preferences. Overall everything from the food to the atmosphere was a 10/10. Definitely a great Thai spot on the Upper East Side.
Me & my husband tried BUA Thai Ramen & Robata Grill and we fell in love. I checked YELP, google reviews and TripAdvisor before trying it and the reviews don’t lie. The location is perfect, the interior made me feel as if I were in a restaurant in Thailand and the best part was the utensils kept my food warm. About the taste, we started with an appetizer, Vegetarian Crispy Roll (perfectly crisp on the outside and so well cooked it almost melted with every bite), and Crab Rangoon was golden, crunchy pockets filled with a rich and savory crab mixture. For the main course, we tried Gai Tod Hat Yai which has a beautifully crisp exterior fried in oyster sauce and juicy meat, bua Thai has mastered the art of fryering ). Their Pad See-Ew was good too. They have a MASSIVE menu to choose from, ranging from seafood to chicken and beef, rice, all kinds of noodles, and cocktails and mocktails. It also happens to have Halal, gluten-free, and vegan options. The drinks were so good, the aesthetic was just 😍 very Instagram-able. For dessert, we ordered Crepe Cake, and for drinks, we had an organic Thai mojito served in a literal coconut and a piña colada in a fresh pineapple. They also had a statue of Ganesha & Duma and their bathrooms were too cute.
I was so impressed with the wonderful food and service at Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill. The food was exceptional, and I absolutely loved how fresh and flavorful everything was. Their Tropical Cocktails were excellent, and the presentation of the food and drinks were simply stunning! The desert tasted divine, and the staff was so friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was so aesthetic and romantic. I highly recommend the Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp and the Clay Pot Fried Rice. I absolutely loved our drinks: Bua Sangria and the Pina Colada! I had a wonderful time, and I’d love to come back soon.
Just came back from Thailand a few months ago. This place really hit the spot. The flavors were so good and had the right amount of spice. Good price for the city. Appetizers drinks, main course and dessert. Was still about 150ish and we had extra toppings in the ramen. Definitely recommended.
I just had to come on here and express my gratitude for this business. I have a shellfish allergy, and it is so hard to find restaurants that will accommodate for that. Let alone have a menu selection wide enough for me to even choose from. From the items I was able to choose from which was several from appetizers to entrées; my meal was so deliciously filling. I ordered the tuna tar tar on crispy rice, black yam, chicken ramen soup, and chicken fried rice. Everything was flavorful and the dish wasn’t boring. Whether you’re going just for the meal or on a date. Everything was so presentable from the drink to the entrees. The interior was beautiful. Plenty of seating available, quick service, and very tentative. There’s this popular Ramen place in Los Angeles that I used to go to and I’ve missed it since moving to New York. Bua’s spicy vegan ramen has been the closest thing to that meal I have found after living here for six years. My taste buds felt at home after my first few bites in. WOW! Thank you
Had a great time at Bua Thai! Everything from the food down to the service was top tier. I took my mom here for dinner on her birthday and all the dishes we ordered were accurately cooked the way they would be in Thailand. Our favorites were the mango pokpok salad and crab rangoon for the appetizers, while for the mains, we absolutely went crazy for the crab fried rice and pad thai with crispy pork. I love the serving sizes and the ratio of crab to rice in the khao pad. It was also seasoned to perfection! For dessert, the classic mango sticky rice hit the spot and transported us back to our Thailand days. Just the right balance of sweet and tangy. Will definitely come back and have already told friends to give it a try. ☺️
Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill has such a cozy and welcoming vibe. The environment was warm, beautifully designed, and perfect for a relaxed meal in Manhattan. The staff were extremely kind and professional — they made the whole experience even better. I especially loved their tofu dishes and the dessert section — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Definitely a great spot for Thai & ramen lovers. Highly recommended!
Had such a wonderful dining experience at Bua Thai. It’s a festive and fun dining environment that’s lively but the noise is moderate enough that you can casually enjoy a conversation. Our server was super helpful in suggesting items from the menu and we ended up getting several items from the Chef’s Recommended section. We started with rock shrimp lychee and crispy tuna rice for appetizers, then the Chiang Mai Curry Ramen Noodles and Clay Pot Fried Rice for entrees, and enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert. We each got a cocktail and you can pick what fruit you’d like it to come in. The portion sizes are very generous, the food is fresh and flavorful, and everything is aesthetically pleasing (perfect for Instagramming!).
I had an amazing experience at this Thai restaurant. The food was really, really good and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Customer service was excellent — the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Our food came out fairly quickly, which was a plus. One thing I really loved was the drink menu — they had non-alcoholic versions of every alcoholic beverage, which was such a thoughtful option. The presentation was also incredible: drinks were served inside huge fresh fruits, like a pineapple that was cut open and filled right in front of us. My main dish was even brought out inside an actual pineapple, which was both delicious and so fun. Overall, great atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. I definitely recommend and will be back!
This place has amazing cocktails and mocktails, served in real pineapples and coconuts, which is such a cute touch. The decor is absolutely adorable, and the food was incredible. Everything came out so quickly, yet tasted like it had been simmering all day. The service was outstanding too. Definitely a hidden gem on the Upper East Side and well worth checking out.
I had a great time at the restaurant! The service was incredible! The Pad See-Ew was delicious and I would definitely recommend. The fried chicken dumpling were also great. The food came out very, very quickly. The atmosphere was very nice as well, with food lighting, and nice decorations! I will definitely be coming back!
Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill is an absolute gem! The moment you walk in, the Christmas decorations set the perfect festive vibe — warm, cozy, and beautifully done. It instantly puts you in the holiday spirit. 🎄✨ The food was outstanding, from the flavorful ramen to the perfectly grilled robata items. Every dish felt fresh, comforting, and packed with authentic taste. And their drinks? Amazing! Refreshing, creative, and the perfect complement to the meal. 🍹🔥 The service was friendly, the atmosphere was gorgeous, and the entire experience felt special. Definitely a must-visit this holiday season! 🎅🏼🎁
I ordered the Pomelo Mai Tai which was sweet and sour and strong enough for the price (it was a bit pricey tbh) and def all delicious! For an app I got an Avacado and Eel roll, it was good. It came with 6 pieces and tasted like a good $12 roll. Then I got the Soy Base Thai Ramen with Crispy Duck. That was good! I think it’s a 4ish/5 but if it was a little more soy and the broth was a lot warmer then wit would be a five. The wait was a bit but reasonable for the amount of people ahead of us, and the service was really good. They ran a well oiled machine and were very attentive to our table. Overall, I recommend making a reservation and not bringing a group bigger than 4 or five for the best result. But the food is certainly yummy! Note: While I do hold these opinions the 5 star review did get our group free deserts, do with that as you will 🤝
Amazing experience from the beautiful atmosphere, great hospitality to the delicious food and drinks! I was invited to try Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill and this was a great opportunity to celebrate one of my good friend’s birthdays as well! this was a a great experience, would definitely return. I was so amazed at how delicious the drinks were and how flavorful the entrees were. HIGHLY recommend trying the clay pot fried rice, i’m still thinking about it! we got two appetizers, two entree, two drinks & 1 dessert! appetizers- Chicken Curry Puffs (FAV) & Fried Chicken Dumplings 🥟 drinks- Pina Colada 🍍 & Melon Berry Satho 🍉(WOW) entrees- Sweet chili salmon w/ Forbidden Brown Rice & Clay Pot Fried Rice (I was amazed) 🍚 Dessert- Fried Chocolate ice cream 🍨
Amazing experience at But Thai Ramen I had an incredible dining experience at But That Ramen. I tried the Pad Kee Mao, Khao Moo Dang, a refreshing lychee drink, and the traditional Thai tea. For dessert, I had the mango dessert, which was the perfect way to end the meal. Every dish was full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. The food was outstanding, and the drinks were delicious and well balanced. On top of that, the service was spectacular—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Overall, everything—from the food to the drinks and the service—was absolutely spectacular. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place.
I had an amazing time at this Thai & Japanese spot. The vibe is super chill, the holiday decor is beautiful, the food comes out fast, drinks are strong, and everything tastes so good. I personally had the Pork Skewer, Rock Shrimp Lychee, the Gai Tod Hat Yai, and for dessert the Taro Custard Brûlée. The staff is super friendly too, they make you feel like a regular even if it is your first time!! Highly recommend this place.
One of the few Thai places I like in the city serving authentic Thai flavors and spice levels. We had the chicken curry puffs and Chicken satay for appetizers and the Chef recommended Thai ramen noodles, Phuket noodles for main. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. Chicken curry puffs were my favorite. Not to miss out on their extravagant drinks. You can get the cocktail or mocktail version of all the drinks. We had the Thai Mojito and pina colada. Their Christmas decor was so cute as well elevating the whole experience. Staff were very welcoming & friendly. Definitely recommend!
Good food recommendations: ✨ drinks: make sure to get the fresh coconut juice which comes with an assortment of fruit and a cute duckie + the thai iced slushie was super yummy and was far different from the typical ones 🧊 🥥 🌟 apps: make sure to get their salads! our waitress recommended the salad and we decided to order the papaya salad which was vinegary and definitely opened our palettes. we also got the curry chicken puff which had a flaky buttery outside, perfect match with a sour salty umami salad 🥗 💫 entrees: the pork belly blue crab green noodle dish was out of this world 🌍 super unique, and not something I’ve had before. It pairs nicely with the broth. Don’t skip on their fried rice! Pineapple fried rice with chicken was cooked perfectly on a wok 🍚 🤤 ☄️ lastly for dessert: please get their mango sticky rice which comes with 1 mango on top of sweet condensed milk sticky rice. This is perfect for 2. 🥭
I've been here 2 yrs ago I think & the food remains good! Brought a friend here as they holiday decors are already set up. I was so impressed w/ the staff & all their recs were sooo good! Def good food, drinks & ambiance. I actually made a video & you will see how happy we were w/ the food. lol You check my IG: @nanay.princess
Food was incredible. We would've enjoyed it a little more if all the hot food came hot, but we did order a lot of food and they served it all at once which may be why some of the dishes were only warm (e.g. ramen, curry). However, we had amazing service and we loved every single dish! Highly recommend the panang curry, the clay pot fried rice and the Ba Mee Gyo Moo Dang and Blue Crab (chef recommended)!!!! Delicious, flavorful and so addicting.
Bua Thai was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor — perfectly balanced, fresh, and so satisfying. The ingredients tasted really clean and vibrant, and each bite felt both comforting and refreshing. You can tell everything is made with care. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!
Second time coming here, and after ordering the same exact items, I can say the experience is consistently fantastic!! This restaurant is an ideal date night starter. The music is tasteful and upbeat, but not too overwhelming. The atmosphere is very photogenic, with so much beautiful decor. Every drink and food item, down to even a simple shot, is presented with lovely accoutrements. While the seating is close to other guests, it is still very comfortable. Highlights for me include the beautiful drinks in fruit (my favorite being the Piña Colada, they can be with or without alcohol!), the fried calamari, chicken curry puffs, pad kee mau with crispy duck, pineapple fried rice with crab/shrimp, and massaman curry with beef belly. A couple reviews mention improvements to service, however as an Asian American the style of service seems, for lack of a better description, typical of Asian restaurant service. Highly recommend eating here!
My fiancé and I were very excited to come and eat here, especially since he has a severe nut allergy and because Thai food is something he’s always had to avoid. We both loved our meals, and while the service could be a little better, it didn’t take away from our experience. The restaurant also has a gorgeous interior. Would definitely come back with friends and/or family, and is definitely a really nice date night spot!
Really enjoyed dinner here. The space itself is beautiful — especially the floral room, which makes the atmosphere feel fun but also cozy. Service was friendly and the food came out at a good pace. The menu has a lot of variety, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and well seasoned. Prices are fair for New York. Definitely a good spot for a date night or casual dinner with friends. I’d come back to try a few more dishes.
This restaurant was amazing! The food was so delicious. Definitely get the super crispy rice, the crispy duck buns omg and the pineapple fried rice with the crispy pork belly!!! Everything on the menu is delicious, you can’t go wrong! Also the drinks come in fresh fruit??? I felt like I was on vacation. The restaurant is beautiful and in a great location. Check it out!!!
I came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday after she found it on TikTok from a content creator featuring and recommending it. This was genuinely some of the best Thai food I remember having in my life, and I’ve loved Thai food for as long as I could remember. I enjoyed their take on Thai iced tea, where half of it is frozen. The chicken dumplings with the sauce were phenomenal! Then my pad kee mao with tofu did not disappoint! Everything from the sauce, noodles, vegetables, and protein were delectable.
I visited this Thai restaurant for the first time last week, and the atmosphere was even more beautiful in person filled with flowers and such a warm, inviting energy. The presentation stood out too. I loved that the pina colada was served in a pineapple, such a fun touch and perfect for photos. The food was delicious my top picks were the sriracha fried crab and the crunchy rice with spicy tuna. Both were flavorful and memorable. The service was excellent as well, with friendly staff who really added to the experience. Overall, I had a great time here. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for date night or just a special night out.
Very interesting Thai restaurants that serves standy Thai food and Japanese food. The decorations is floral and very vibrant, the food was standard selection, tasted good but nothing out of the ordinary, and above Manhattan pricing. For the price charged, I was expecting it should be above average. We were seated three tables in from the door,.so every time someone enters or leaves, the cold air filled the front area. Requested to change table towards the inside since it wasn't busy, they did but a little unwillingly at first. The food hasn't arrived yet so it was just two cups of water, napkins and utensils. They should have been more accommodating. Next to our new table, they were celebrating a birthday and the waitress brought out a neon "Happy Birthday" sign, which is a nice touch. Great marketing and very "Instagramable", as another reviewer noted. Go for the ambience if you are in the area, and note the food is ok (and tailored to American tastes, which means it's on the sweeter side).
Just went for valentines day and it was a beautiful experience. The ambience was perfect, and even with the holiday rush, we were able to order and recieve our food in an extremely timely manner, and the staff were amazing. If you're going to try anything, absolutely try the thai iced tea slushy. Their ramen was okay, but still on the better side, and the presentation was amazing.
Went here for a group dinner and left feeling very satisfied. The noodles and chicken were very flavorful, and I loved the decor. There was a little confusion that caused us to wait much longer for our table than we were told, but once we sat down, the service was incredibly fast. Based off of this one experience, reservations seem almost required
Such a cute restaurant! Love the vibes! Very instagrammable. There were some nice gluten free options which I appreciated. My appetizer the tuna crispy rice was delicious. My main, the prawn Lemongrass ramen was ok. The prawns were really difficult to get the shell off. My drink, the pina colada was pretty good too but beware that it's real coconut water so it definitely has a pretty mellow and plain taste though the presentation is excellent. My son didn't have water throughout his meal so that was a bit unfortunate but otherwise the service was pretty good.
bua thai ramen & robata grill—best combo for thai food and fun cocktails✨ their presentation is on point. each dish is beautifully decorated. our cocktails came in a watermelon and coconut 🥥 and a rubber duck 🐥 which is super adorable. the menu is endless. we tried fried softshell crab in sriracha sauce, ceviche, egg noodle with pork and crabmeat, green curry with jumbo shrimp. my fav are the softshell crab and egg noodle 🤍 if you are looking for a cute spot to dine on the ues (with cutest cocktails), this is the perfect spot 🍹
Saw this place on IG and decided to try it out with 3 friends. Let me start off by saying that the staff were very nice. Drinks (alcohol or mocktails) were good. The food was ok. Now, my issue with this restaurant is that they will pack customers in like sardines. I could enjoy myself because seating was tight. There was a table of 6 to our left. There was a table set for 2 on our right. They later turned 2 into a seating for 3 and then turned that seating into table for 5. If we needed to get up, we were trapped in. The staff had to pass down the food and drinks because they couldn't get to the other side. When we were leaving it was tight. If you go, ask for seating in the main level. If you sit in the back, you will pray that there will be no emergency. My advice, its ok to have customers wait if you don't have adequate seating available (most restaurants do).
