I've only ate here once and my exprience was lovely . I had a meal with my family around 8 i was delighted at the setting and the waiters hospitality . This restaurants food makes you feel right at home n i recommend the yuca chips their awesome
Love this place. My go to for lunch. You cant beat the lunch options. Amazing shakes and desserts. Friendly staff and the food is just simply amazing.
Love it very good food and service our first time and we want to come back soon
The food was delicious and the mojito delightful. The waitress is very nice and attentive.
They have great service. It is a warm and cozy restaurant. The food is delicious and it is a good portion of it. They serve you fast and it is no wating for tables.
Been going here since I was a little girl, real authentic Spanish food if your looking for something quick and tasty
I've sat and eat and a family ordered me some food from here and very good and tasty 😋 thank yall for ur service 🥰🤗❤🙏
I have never been disappointed coming here. My family is from New York so I am always in the city. I happen to come upon this place after a doctor's appointment in the LES, and the receptionist recommended this place. This was about 4-5 years ago, and I have been coming a few times a year ever since. Great location in the heart of El Barrio East Harlem. The food is amazing, home style cooking like abuela would make, and the service is great. Always a pleasure coming here. My go to dish is the mofongo de camarones (shrimp mofongo). I always bring some home back to NJ for myself and friends and they always want me to take them here. Will be back again soon and I can't wait!!
I don't visit but I do order delivery. I honestly love this place and is one of the only Dominican spots that delivers to my area for no fee on grubhub. The food is great no matter what any of these folks say. Been ordering for the last year and a half and they have never messed my stuff up. Try their fried porkchops with arroz con gandules or the Churasco A La Caridad- amazing. I should really get out there soon and see what the establishment is like.
Here you will find authentic Latin dishes that are delicious beyond words. I haven't eaten a dish here that I did not fall in love with. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. Love eating here.
I LOVEEEEEE this place. Food is always spot on!! Best sangria for great prices!! Been coming here for over 7years with my dad. The staff is so friendly. Literally feels like home when we go
This place is amazing the staff is very nice and attentive and fast and most importantly the food is delicious.
The food was amazing. I had the Mofongo de Cerdo and it was full of rich flavor. It also came with a side salad. The food here is authentic and I highly recommend it. The staff were also very attentive and friendly, I felt right at home.
Great food. Friendly staff and super fast deliveries. Super ice cold beers with a full bar. TVs to watch sports as you wait or eat. Definitely 5 stars.
Home style Latin food, very clean, well managed, attentive staff, great tasting food at very reasonable prices. Decor is casual/baseball memorabilia. Go for the food not the luxury.
This place is great for people who loves Spanish food and hates chicken. They sure know how to take every moisture there is from it. 5 stars because I don't think I can find anything dryer.
I always enjoy the food when my family and I stop in at the restaurant. I also enjoy the fact that they deliver to my area which is 15 blocks away. The food always hot and as good as in the restaurant. So thank you Caridad for having deliver service.
The food is in place is amazing, if you are a fan of truly hispanic food this is the place to be. The staff is friendly and it can get a little busy sometimes but they still provide excellent service 👌🏽
Loved the baseball players plates. Punny and delicious. My brother had the Barry Bonds. BE WARNED: Its $14 for a whole chicken, the entire thing, not just a piece of chicken. Check it out.
Im Puerto Rican, but its been ages i eat REAL Puerto Rican food. I left with a belly full of typical dish. Wow! What an experience. At first i went in thinking it was sketchy but i trusted my friend who said this place would knock my white girl attitude off.. i ate more and paid less than the Sofrito Restaurant uptown N.Y... great job chef!
Food was great service was great atmosphere was awesome
The food was fresh well cooked and generous portions. We shared a paella and took 1/3 home. The service is great. What a lucky find when we were hot and hungry in Harlem.
Great place to eat. Food was really good. Clean and friendly. My boyfriend loved the food and the service. So did i. We will definitely be going again.
This food slaps! I’m from the heights and this place is good. Much better than the one across the street
That we were served in a timely manner. The meats were well cooked and tasty. The staff was polite and friendly. We've been going there for four years, it's always a pleasure.
I ordered the pepper steak with rice and red beans with a side of plantains. Everything was great, but I really enjoyed the red beans (perfect consistency and taste) and plantains (sweet and mushy) the most. Nice and quick service.
Best grilled chicken ever👍
The food here is DELICIOUS to say the least. The drink menu is broad & fun, good flavors for the palate. The ambiance is ok, nothing too loud & rowdy nor too quiet & boring. I'd recommend it!
Owe yes my please to go for years. fresh delicious real Spanish food. Family style, clean, see the games on their big screens while enjoying the delicious dinner. Presentation on serving are on point.
Honestly their delivery time has never been an issue for me, ever! What I do is assume it’ll take 45mins to arrive to me (Just like Uber Eats or Postmates) and I’ll order it at the appropriate time. I LOVE ordering from here when I’m hungover or sick. Try out the Sancocho, it’s bomb! It’s the best cure ever. The people over the phone are nice and also good salesmen 😂 that concludes my review. Love this spot :)
Breaded shrimps were huge and the steamed tilapia with vegetables was very filling. The staff was delightful and gave us the best dining experience. Best place for couples or the entire family.
Very good!! When I have ordered there it has been for takeout and for delivery. They have given me great service, they are very attentive. By phone for delivery it's also good but be sure to explain what you want because when they are busy can get a little confusing. Other than that food is great!!
Place was clean. Friendly staff. Dominican food & it was delicious. Cooked well. Overall it was amazing. Took extra food to go home. Will definitely go again when in the area. No complains what so ever. #DishesWereNamedAfterBaseballPlayers
A popular place and very good business for to go orders.
It's good place to eat, especially when you can catch them open as they always closed for no reason.
Sandy's across the street used to be the spot for Puerto Rican style Spanish style food in El Barrio for decades. I can't remember when Caridad opened but the food is outstanding. Almost as good as abuelas... I highly recommend Caridad... All day!
called in my order several times, never a problem. Food is always fresh and prepared fast, never a wait. They tell me 10 minutes, and ten minutes it is.
Love, love, loved the guava tres leches!! Omg that was so sweet and delicious -- just what my tastebuds ordered. We also had mofongo queso, fried chicken, and rice and beans. EVERYTHING was tasty, delicious, and served by great wait staff. I highly recommend this place.
Good to great food. Very good prices. Good atmosphere. Friend staff. Best Spanish food in the neighborhood. I've never had a bad meal.
Really good food. Friendly staff. Food was served right away. Nice portions size plates inexpensive prices would definitely go there again. I wish I had some right now.
Really nice. Food is good services is always at the table and the best thing is the price. Omg price wise is the best of all. And if you still want to know why I didn't give 5 stars ask em and I'll tell you why.
Not crowded but nice. The roast pork is good but they have a lot of other choices. Everything is already prepared so you can see what they have. I liked it because it was pretty quiet, the food was delicious and this restaurant has a sign which rates it well for cleanliness and maybe taste, I think.
Love the food. Service needs work. I like to be greeted with courtesy. Staff seems to drag to clean up after guest leave their table. Decent place for drinks and hang with family and friends. Me and my family come often for the food mostly.
Some times its a hit and miss situation with the chicken this time it was acceptable not to dry. Service wasnt the greatest. Pricing could be better. Speaking spanish while ordering is a plus. I feel you get better service then.
Good Latin food. Save money by ordering one of their 3 Specials. Be careful. They try to add dishes to your order. Any type of soda, juice or shake is very expensive. Stick to water.
Today, it was ok. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but my cuban sandwich was not up-to-par!!! The cheese wasn't even melted, no garlic dressing on the bread... And there was a piece of roast pork I couldn't even bite into... Ugh! Not good today, people. The mangu wasn't seasoned. No adobo whatsoever. And I love their mangu... Damn.
Great Dominican food at good prices. I have been ordering from this restaurant for many years, and since then I could say that I have 90% satisfaction with its services. It also has a nice decent area if you choose to eat in the restaurant.
Two out of the three of us really didn't enjoy the meal, maybe we just got unlucky and ordered not great things, but nevertheless not good food as far as we saw. Slow service, and the server never checked in on us. I'd give it another try but unimpressive first try.
When you're hungry and looking for a good and expensive meal in East Harlem.
The food was delicious but the staff was super slow, they served everyone else bread to begin, I did not receive any, and did not get my food until 45 minutes later after ordering. Shout out to Steven, he just got in as i was almost done and took very good care of me as soon as he started his shift and he made sure I left with some good, warm, toasted, buttered bread, Thank you Steven! I appreciate you!
After realizing that we left the takeout without the soda that was included I called to let them know. Upon explaining the situation the young lady that answered hung up on me. I called back and they didn’t answer. The young lady that served us was very nice unfortunately the food was a little short on flavor. I ordered yellow rice with beans and rotisserie chicken therefore they get 3 stars.
Made an order over the phone, the language barrier made it difficult for them to understand my payment info. Resulting in them charging me twice, then they said they would send in an extra empanada to cover the cost difference, never sent it. I also ordered a bottle of water and never received that either. To claim you have the "Best Rotisserie Chicken in all of New York" you should back it up, the chicken was dry and tough to chew. Staff is polite, but should take more time making sure the customers orders are complete and correct.
I am disappointed with the food. Couple years ago it was amazing. I stop in a week ago, thinking that it changed but it’s still bad. I ordered beef stew with peas & rice to go and it was dry no sauce. It’s is supposed to be beef stew. Sancho(sp) it used to amazing like I said couple yrs ago now it’s very waterey. I ordered large soup still in my fridge because it is awful
Most of the workers barley know English which is why I’m rating a 3. Very hard to explain what you want if you do not have or see someone who speaks both languages (English and Spanish) but I came for the lunch special . Great price and great food . The rice and the chicken were very good .
They served the Latin people that came after us first and they acted as if they didn't want to serve us at all! Very rude with their noses in the air and the look of " well go somewhere else". And this was the day of the Puerto Rican festival 2018!!!! Very disappointed!!!!
Food it's ok. Inexpensive but I will not be back. Service is really slow even though their crew is quite abundant. Waitresses give you attitude when one request help.
I wasn't a fan. It took too long for someone to come over to us, they got one of our orders wrong. The rice was cold too. The meat was also burned. Didn't give them 1 star only because the flavor was good. They were also slow getting us the check.
Ordered chicken chunks with rice and beans, sweet plantains and a papaya juice. Ordered at 6:48pm. Food arrived at 9:01pm. Cold and dry. Order was over $20 and not even a little container of garlic sauce was provided. Which is usually provided with all orders anywhere else. I am currently reheating my food in the oven while typing this review and thinking I could’ve gotten more and paid less elsewhere. ** added an extra star becaue the food did taste good.
I asked them to leave the onions off of my steak, because I'm allergic, and when the meal arrived, it was covered in onions. The waiter acted like I never said that and management was very rude to me when I complained. The decorations are old school. Unless, they give better customer service and realize that it's the customer who is always right not the people who work in the restaurant, this place will definitely go out of business soon with all the new restaurants opening in East Harlem.
Shrimp patty had no shrimp, waitstaff was busy but I waited a while to place my order which when it came was thrown in front of me. I didn't know what a shrimp or cheese patty was, apparently it is baked into a pouch. Thank you too our very kind waited
Me and my family came here to eat here the tables was dirty and had oil on the table and flys flying around where me and my family eating at so disgusting the waiter was just look at me shooting the fly always from my food this restaurant need a health inspector
The food was brought out cold and in parts nothing was brought out together.drink orders were taken and brought out and our server didnt return to check on us. Also wasnt asked if we wanted a second drink when our first was finished. Just really bad service. Im a server myself so i didnt want to call a manager.
I ordered a large sancocho soup from them today 9/21 and was served with 1 piece of chicken w/ 9 pieces of plantain...clearly an act to make things appear what they are not...for those of you that do not know what sancocho consists of, its ingredients are chicken, beef, corn, potatoes, plantain, etc... they intentionally deceived us when we ordered and will no longer patronize this establishment regardless of how good the food is...you've been forewarned...
Didn’t enjoy it. Rice tasted like it was scrapped off the bottom of the bowl and the chicken was room temp. Environment was too loud.
Placed a order for delivery not only did it take 1.5hrs to get here it also had a bug in it. When I called and spoke to the manager he said “Bugs being in food is out of their control”. Do not order from this restaunt. If i could give it zero stars i would!
Coming from far away visiting my in laws for the weekend we decide to go to this spot because we heard some nice feedback but when we got there the service was poor. We didn’t get menus to order and once we was set to order...they ran out of rice ...Very disappointed because I had a family gathering a few years back and it was great . But today was a fail.
I ordered asopao de camarones and got 5 shrimps in a yellow water with spaghetti, frozen bits of carrots and bit of broccoli. I personally don't recommend this place for any type of seafood dish. I ended discarding the water and not get a refund nasty
When entering it was just alot going on. Cooks and cashiers all around dishing food and alot of hands dealing with the food, bare handedly. Still I was starving and ordered the pepper stake lunch special with white rice, beans and a side of fried yellow plantains. Tasted okay, only ate half bc I was full. About 2 hours later I started sweating stomach bubbling. Then I felt the need to throw up. I Ithrew up only what I ate. a little rice an beans and a little meat. half an hour later the tire meal and stake chunks came up!!
I try to order I call they told me the price is different from the website, them i order a food and they gave me different items . I used to go there every day or order but now there is a lot of better places , everyday is different prices on the same food .
Asked the lady (my waitress) for a cup of water to wash down the food I was eating she looked at me said okay and started mopping the floor. That's disgusting and just wrong. I use to love this place now I just hate it.
What are the half of chicken and only got bones. Ordered white rice and red beans and only got sauce with a few beans. And I had to pay $15.10 and give a tip so I wasted $20 today for bones. Save your money and go to a real restaurant!!! Never ever again!!!!
With orders like tostones no garlic dipping sauce; they charge extra. Tostones does not get at least a free garlic dipping sauce. Um, it is a traditional dish that needs the garlic sauce. I am sure the restaurant has their favorites they will not let them pay for the garlic sauce. Their services you will wait for almost an hour for your order. Service on the phone really bad; they confuse orders and dont want to speak English on the phone. I had to wait almost 25 to 30 mins for someone to respond in English. I remember the place before it was renovated better service and awesome people. I do not know after renovating restaurant became different. But found a better place that Spanish food is better and do not have to pay extra for things when it is suppose to compliment the dish. I never have to wait for an English speaking person to take my order and service is excellent.
To whom it may concern: In addition, there are a few concerns about the service. They charged me for fried green plantains without the garlic sauce included; on the take outside. I did not get one with the order I had paid for? I ask Mr. Rafa he said no; I had to pay extra for two garlic sauce for my fried green plantains that never came with the garlic sauce but it does not say that on the menus. However, I have sat in the restaurant before and I got garlic sauce for my fried green plantains without being charged extra for the garlic sauce. Why is it on the menu?? Sounds like false advertisement to me. In addition, waiting about 45 mins for the food that's insane. In addition, they deliver to all Manhattan. So please do not let them lie to you. There sign in the restaurant on the take out side says " we deliver to ALL Manhattan." I QUOTE from there wall. Another thing, It's difficult to order over the phone since predominant Spanish speaking restaurant. What about for the English spoken language?? It's hard to understand and orders do get mixed up in the process. Then I have to wait over 20 minutes on the phone for someone who talks English. The restaurant needs to update their menu and stop adding to the menu when it is not there on the menu. Please be mindful to your customers.
If I could have rated this location a zero stars I would! I ordered for delivery and they sent me a order of pernil with a massive amount of fat. And of top of that they did not want to exchange it for a new one ! The rice was also hard, nothing was fresh! Horrible experience and I paid almost $50.00 for this terrible service! No one should buy from them!
This place use to have amazing food and authentic. The last time I had it the beans were under season, the yellow rice was not yellow rice it was bland, and the stake had fat pieces and tasted awful. The maduros were frozen maduros (you can taste the difference) I am so upset cause the food use to actually be good
I really tried to like their food but I ended up throwing most of it away. I also ordered a beef pastelito and the oil was not fresh and the dough was not cooked all the way through. It was gooey inside.
For years this was my family preference restaurant however this place has turned into one of the worst when it comes to service and food. After couple of years without ordering from Caridad, I have just placed an order for a combo and I got two lunches. Mind you, the lady who took my order asked twice what I wanted. I called the restaurant after the delivery and their answer was "the order said two lunches". No kidding. Unbelievable. Not even an apology. Never again.
This place has not reopen the restaurant. Is only for take out. The food is not as before and is more expensive. This was a family restaurant and one of the best one before the pandemic. People from the neighborhood go uptown, Washington heights to get a good domican meal. After the pandemic they only do delivery and take out. This place needs to reopen.
When they first opened the food quality and flavor was amazing slowly but surely over the years the quality has gone down. I used to get a lunch special every day of the week but now I only get it once a month it's just not good anymore the rice isn't soft the meat is bland and the prices went up. It's no good now.
Very expensive will never go back and the food is extremely mid for the prices
Unprofessional, man that answers the phone is rude and weird. Order was stolen && the guy told me I deserved it after I spent $100 on multiple meals.
Today had a horrific experience at this restaurant El Nuevo caridad . I ordered baked chicken with beans and a salad, but when I started eating, I was disgusted to find a bug in my food. I immediately called the restaurant and asked to speak to a supervisor. He apologized and offered to send me a new order, but I was too sick to my stomach after seeing the bug. I asked for a refund instead, which he provided. I returned the remaining food, bug and all. Needless to say, I do not recommend this restaurant… No compren comida aquí es asqueroso encontré una mosca, cucaracha en mi orden que asco!!!
I placed an order on uber eats. The restaurant called to say that they didnt have the food that I wanted. I told them that I would cancel on my end on uber eats and while I'm on the chat with customer service to get my full refund back, they canceled my order and I got charged for food I didn't receive. I will never patronize this restaurant ever again
We went to have lunch and our experience was terrible. Pernil was in bad condition, rotisserie chicken cold and overcooked. They charged arroz con gandules and a leg of chicken with a juice $18, come on! never again!!!
Please please be careful me and my fiance do not feel good after eating from heregiving you guys another chance our stomach's hurt it was a whole chicken rice beans and mojito will not be ordering I remember years ago before covid 19 you guys actually cared were very clean never any issues with food but never again we will not order again no more chances
Food was okay, but the bill was totally different than the printed menu prices. The menu said sides were included but when the bill came we were charged separately. Total scam, the waitress didn’t say anything about sides being charged separately even though we asked when we ordered. The food was definitely not worth the overpriced cost. Do not trust this restaurant to be honest. Stay away.
Terribly disappointed, we live in Florida we were desperately craving Latin food. The moment I sat down, I wish I would have listened to my hunches and left but I was super optimistic. We order bistec empanizado, Mofongo con camarones Aso Pao de Camarones. The bistec was dry and over cooked. Mofongo looked like they poured an open can of tomato sauce over it was tasteless. The shrimp soup was the only descent thing on the table. We share it between three people because we just couldn’t eat the other stuff that’s how terrible it was. A man sat next to us begging for money. We had to deal with that not the waitress or any employee came to help us. Never never again.
