Great brunch! The omelette was delicious, as were the cappuccinos. The atmosphere was super cute as well, and the outside terrace looked fun. Would definitely recommend for a fun Sunday brunch!
This is the perfect place to hang out with wine and snacks. I want to give a special shoutout to Sena. She was able to provide details and extra hospitality to our party about certain wines and answers all our questions. The Madame Bonté Cafe was certainly one of the best experiences I’ve had with perfect service and food!
Popped in for a quick latte while waiting for a friend — ended up chilling way longer than planned. Cozy downstairs, peaceful backyard, and super fresh coffee. Baha, the barista, was incredibly kind and made the whole place feel extra welcoming. A total gem in the Upper East Side. Saved and starred!
Went for happy hour on a Tuesday and the basement level was nice and quiet. Our server was attentive and brought our food and drinks quickly. Food was great, including the margarita flatbread, but the drinks ranged from good to just ok. The Moscow Mule wasn’t my favorite but otherwise everything else was good. Would return and try a different cocktail.
Beyond thrilled that I finally made it to this neighborhood gem… particularly on a Tuesday, as it was evidently all-day happy hour 🤩🤩🤩 I’d previously stopped by for a quick takeaway coffee upstairs a few times, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. But now I know, the downstairs and back garden are really where the magic happens! My friend and I had a few glasses of wine, and also split a flatbread and watermelon salad—which were exceptional, and sizeable! Yum. Definitely a big first date spot, btw… 😅
Great cafe with lots of space. There was a casual walk in coffee shop upstairs but we went downstairs for a dine in brunch. Super efficient service and they had yummy open face sandwiches. Got the salmon one and the croque Monsieur and both were delicious. The almond croissant was the best- it had little candied almonds on top and was crispy. Had a small back patio and looks like it’s also a wine bar, definitely plan on coming back for an evening one day.
A very cute little place, but it’s bigger than I thought because they have downstairs seating as well as two outdoor seating areas and it’s a lovely experience. I had the croque Monseur $15 and I really enjoyed the crispy bread with melted cheese and a little bit of side salad. The food was a bit pricey for what I paid and I wish there were a little bit more food items for my plate, but I love the ambience and the staff are really friendly. It’s a great place to chat with friends and family. ON downstairs seating they do not allow any open screens, such as Kindle, laptops, tablets, etc.
I've popped in one or twice for coffee which was always good and recently stayed for their dining. A few friends and I ordered a bunch of different plates and everything was delicious! The ambiance of the out door seating was cozy and inviting. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our requests. Will definitely be returning soon to try more delicious plates and refreshing drinks! It's a must try if you haven't yet!
Delicious options for coffee, breakfast, or snacks! Came here 6 months ago when I first moved to the UES and loved it. I ordered the brie and apricot toast, and a coffee (total ~$17 including tip). Their menu has sweet and savory options good for any meal, and both their indoor/outdoor seating is super cute!
The new coffee shop in our barrio, a 5 minute walk from my studio. This is a beautiful, very well decorated and welcoming spot. They have really good pastries. I haven’t tried the sandwiches yet, however they are not expensive at all for the area and compared to other coffee shops I’ve been to. This is my second time here. I enjoy a black coffee on my first visit. Today I broke my rule that when I try new coffee shops I usually order a espresso. This time a cappuccino sits on my downstairs table, yes there’s is a downstairs and patio. The cappuccino’s foam is a bit dry but it tastes good and balanced. This is one the best coffee shops in the area. The music they play will make you take off your headphones. Listen and enjoy.
Great coffee and baristas, but the screen free zone downstairs during the day is unnecessary when completely empty on most days. Do a time limit if you're concerned about turnover/dining or minimum spend. Would be great to have Turkish coffee back or a pour over option as well.
wondered how this place was so popular when it always empty when I passed by. Turns out the ground floor is the cafe area that closes at 6pm and downstairs is the wine bar area. So glad I tried it. Wine bar is very cute as is the small outdoor patio. The brie tartine was good, not amazing. Came back during the day and the butter croissant was nice warmed up and flaky. Friendly servers. I’ll definitely come back to try more.
Over hyped mid tier space with bland food and subpar service. The wait staff has horrible communication, not only was my table avoided for most of my dining experience, but i ordered the Caprese sandwich and it was missing a major ingredient. When I communicated this to the waiter his initial reaction was to gaslight me only to return from the kitchen to tell me they didn’t have the ingredient on hand. It was the first time I’ve ever sent back food at a restaurant. The only saving grace is their signature Cinnamon Honey latte: do yourself a favor and order it to go.
The food here was actually good — flavorful, fresh. But unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. The waiter and hostess were shockingly rude from start to finish, making it clear that customers are more of an inconvenience than a priority. They didn’t have regular coke on the menu, “only Diet Coke”, and very rude about it if you seemed confused by that! In a city like New York, where incredible food can be found on nearly every corner, there’s absolutely no reason to come back somewhere that treats guests this way. Great food doesn’t make up for bad attitude.
Racist. I arrived at 9pm and the gentleman with the chef hat was rude and said hey how can I help you. I asked for coffee and he said we closed but store hours say 10:30. The hostess and this guy started laughing at me and talking in their language. I politely stepped away but they were not welcoming at all. The guy gave me gestures like if I didn’t speak English. Brushing his hand on his neck to say to me we closed. Made me feel like My money doesn’t count. Some advice to you don’t judge a book by its cover. Had my 5 years old daughter in the car and explain to her what had happened to me because she was looking forward for a treat.
