Cannot begin to express how amazing the food was here. I wish I took more pictures! We came here for our anniversary, thinking it was going to be a casual dinner out. FAR from it. Our server was not only hospitable but incredibly sweet to us the entire time, making sure we were comfortable and content with the food. The Birria pizza: OUT OF THIS WORLD. The shrimp tacos and flautas were savory and tasty. And if you want to get a cute selfie: This is the place to be. The decor is vibrant and elegant, the Christmas cheer definitely radiated throughout as well. We’ll be back soon! ❤️ thank you Mexico mi amor for an amazing evening 🥰

Just had a fabulous lunch here at Mexico Mi amor Food was delicious service, attentive, and professional, and very courteous. The pictures I took don’t do justice as to how delicious our lunch was We had the chicken enchiladas, fish tacos. guacamole to start All fresh and amazing Great vibe, great atmosphere Considering it was their opening day, they nailed it. My husband and I were so excited for the opening of the authentic family owned and operated Mexican restaurant, Mexico Mi Amor. I enjoyed learning about the family's history in the restaurant business for over 15 years as fellow New Yorkers. We enjoyed a lovely lunch of delicious street tacos, quesadillas, fries, and a caramel iced latte! The staff and atmosphere were lovely, welcoming and family oriented. We definitely look forward to returning; and have already recommended our family members stop by or order out!

Local Mexican restaurant by Dumont post office. The decorations are vibrant and colorful. Wonderful staff. Very helpful. We had chicken/shrimp fajitas and shrimp burrito and flan to go. The onion flavor is a little over powering in my burrito but overall it’s good. Love the pan seared the tortillas. Great portion. Flan is soft and sweet. I would recommend it for dessert. They offer many events such as Latin dance nights, trivia, kids music class etc. Good to see the restaurant promoting themselves with the community.

We came in on a Saturday night, and the place was extremely festive and perfect for the holiday season. The kids loved it. We write a note to Santa and dropped them in the letters to Santa mailbox and played with the kid toys. The food was delicious, I would just change the serving size for the guacamole and make it with two avocados. The guacamole was extremely tasty though. Tacos were great, and the flight of hot chocolate was an amazing touch. Great service too. We will definitely be back.

Everything on the menu is delicious. I've been several times and I haven't had a bad meal. Appetizers are amazing and the entrees are spectacular! Try the flan to finish everything off, a perfect end to a great meal. Staff is always pleasant and attentive. The molé is practically a religious experience.

Mexico mi amor has quickly become our new go to spot. I eat there at least once every week. As a mother to three young children, this is the only restaurant I truly enjoy going to now because it is SO kid friendly. The play area is essential and so helpful when the kids start getting restless. The food is insanely delicious! My favorite things to get are the birria tacos, quesabirria, and steak fajitas. A horchata espresso is a must when I go for breakfast or lunch! Tres leches is always heavenly. The restaurant is BYOB, if you bring wine or tequila you can have them make a pitcher of sangria or margaritas! We always leave full and happy. There are always fun events happening at Mexico Mi Amor. Follow them on Instagram or Facebook to keep up with what’s going on! I’ve been to their trivia, bingo, live music, book club, karaoke, and much much more!! We have never had a bad experience. The staff is superb, especially Hollie! **In response to a different review I read about “a drunk old man singing”. First of all, you went on karaoke night when anyone is allowed to sing. Second, he was most definitely obviously NOT drunk. I went on karaoke night with my family and he was up there singing. We all knew right away that there was something more going on with him and that’s no one’s place to judge him. The fact that he feels safe enough to sing his heart out is that much more of a reason to come and eat at Mexico Mi Amor. The staff is welcoming to EVERYONE.** Overall, I highly recommend Mexico Mi Amor! If you haven’t tried them yet, let this be your sign to go today!

The food was so good; it was probably the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! (I had the birria tacos but will be back to try more). The service and waiter were great. The atmosphere was stunning—the restaurant was beautiful.

During our visit, the owners warmly greeted us and initiated a pleasant conversation. The staff displayed exemplary professionalism and courtesy. The cuisine was exceptional and authentic, thanks to the chef/owner's Mexican heritage. The use of fresh ingredients and the outstanding mole sauce were particularly noteworthy. The churros, tres leches, and flan were delicious and made in-house. The restaurant itself is a good size, with walls adorned with a beautiful mural and pictures of the owner's family and hometown in Mexico. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning soon.

It’s a nice family-owned Mexican restaurant. They serve amazing authentic Mexican food and host many fun community events, including trivia night, karaoke, and more. Their queso fundido with chorizo, tacos al pastor, enchiladas, and horchata are really delicious. They make their mole fresh at the restaurant. The interior is also very colorful and lively.

Mexico mi amor is a very family oriented restaurant, with amazing food. For starters we had the guac and chips and queso fundido with chorizo. Both made to order. The enchiladas de mole were delicious as well as the Tacos al Pastor. You can tell they put their heart in the food. As for the drinks, the agua de horchata was a solid 100/10 they have mocktails as well. Overall it was a great experience, we will be coming back.

We decided to give Mexico Mi Amor a try tonight and we had a wonderful experience! It’s very cozy, and the food is amazing, and well plated! Staff is polite, attentive and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone craving Mexican food. They’re also BYOB. Such a gem we found in Dumont!

Had a great dinner last night!! I highly recommend the shrimp tacos and shrimp fajitas. Also their Horchata drink is a must have! SO DELICIOUS!! Waitstaff is very personable and polite. The owners Marta and Juan are a delight!! The atmosphere is warm and cozy. And the decor is awesome! This Mexican restaurant is such a great welcomed addition to our town. We will definitely be back!

Welcoming, family-owned restaurant with delicious food and mocktails. It’s BYOB. I loved the decorations and themed parties. There are always new events coming up, and they make sure to host family-friendly events.

I was in the mood for birria and I came across this gem during my search. The beef birria tacos were delicious and had the right amount of spice. Customer service was excellent and they also have free events. Thank you for satisfying my craving!!!

This is hands down my families favorite place for Mexican food. It’s All delicious truly. My family always starts off with table side fresh guacamole. It’s a must to get !!! For my dinner I always get the Mar Y Tierra and for dessert their Tres Leches that’s homemade and amazing. Make sure when you to ask for Marta to be your Server. She always treats us like family and regularly checks in on us to make sure all the food is the best it can be. Ask for her when you arrive. We WILL be back many more times.

Found out they host many special events like trivia and salsa nights. The menu had all the popular Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and many others. We got a complimentary basket of chips with salsa. I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas with side of guacamole. I liked the dish so much. It came with three purple color tacos, never had seen that before. The rice and beans were good. Swizzling chicken and shrimps had dynamite flavors. I finished all of it. Also got to try the chicken burrito that was delicious. But the guacamole was disappointing. The tomatoes were so chunky. It needed more citrus and lemon too. I took a flan home, it was a huge piece, really dense and sweet, so good! The service was good, our server was very friendly. Other than guacamole, rest of the items came out quickly. We had a good lunch. We look forward to joining one of their weekly events and go back to try some other dishes as well.

I read a great recommendation for this restaurant and decided to try. The guacamole is made table-side and was delicious. My husband and I both ordered the street style tacos. I had the carnitas and he had the al pastor. They were both very good. The place is BYO which helps keep price down. The only thing I was disappointed with was our server. He was not very attentive. However, another server who was not in charge and our table was very helpful.

Wanting some Mexican food, and after seeing positive reviews here on Google, we went to try this place. Hands down, the positive reviews we read do not match the service and food quality we received. The place looks nice. That's where it ends. The food was awful!! Absolutely no taste! Tiny portions. Overpriced. Complete disappointment. Chips with salsa tasted store bought - definitely stale - and there was a charge. (Typically, most places don't - ok.) The flautas (meal) were tiny (both size and portion) and had no flavor - none. There was a very small scoop of rice and beans; not good. The price was high for what was served. Nothing was good at all. The other item ordered was a flavorless burrito. It was pan fried - which is unusual. Not good at all. We were the only customers in the restaurant. The only staff person/waiter had no personality, and was not attentive at all. Very slow. We couldn't finish our meals. Simply paid the bill and left hungry. I won't go back!
