A nice selection of west coast favorites. Portions were perfect, and food is very tasty. Even better was our server, Emily, who was awesome. When we explained we had one person in our party with food allergies, she went through the whole menu and let us know what was safe and what was not. She went further by letting us know how certain options could be made nut free, which shows a great level of knowledge of all the dishes. Overall, a great dining experience next to The Culver Studios.
Great first visit here on New Year’s Day. We made a reservation via Google Maps/Resy and only had to wait for the guests ahead of us to be seated before we were shown to our table. The thing that made a great first impression was that the hostess acknowledged us as she showed the other guests to their table. These little touches make all the difference to us when dining out. We loved the warm floor-to-ceiling wood paneling, fun artwork on the walls, cozy booths with thickly padded seating, and the expansive open kitchen. Not forgetting the deliciously intoxicating aroma of roast chicken and steak. Service was very professional and friendly. All servers were impeccably dressed, with their white aprons. A lot like the South Beverly Grill, but this restaurant is a lot brighter with its large picture windows and a tad louder. Food portions were generous and each ingredient was thoughtfully prepared and well-paired in the various dishes. We got the Sashimi and Hot Bread to start and were wowed by how fresh the fish was. The Hot Bread seemed like mini pizza bites. If you’re not already getting the pizza here, they’re a great taste teaser! The mozzarella did not disappoint! For entrees, we got the rotisserie chicken and the grilled sea bass. Both excellent. I got an extra side of charcoal roasted cabbage, which was sooo soft and melty, but it wasn’t really needed, seeing how much food we already had. One tip when ordering is to ask about the desserts, so you can plan ahead! Remember some food portions here can be quite large! Parking was super easy too, with so many public garages in this area. We parked at the garage across the street, where Trader Joe’s is. $1 for about two hours. We’re definitely going back for their pizzas!
We celebrated our anniversary at Laurel Grill and had a great time. They surprised us with complimentary champagne, which was such a nice touch. We ordered 2 cocktails along with pasta and pizza, and everything was really good. Overall, great food, friendly vibes, and an awesome experience. Would definitely come back!
Had such a wonderful time at Laurel Grill. Came in visiting from Balfimore and everything was so wonderful. The food, the atmosphere and the service was 5 star. Our waiter Siobhan was a rock star and so friendly. She was the best. I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the grilled chicken and both were lovely flavorful and hit the spot. We got a 6:30 reservation and everyone was so prompt and nice. Definitely try it if you are in Culver City.
I LOVE Laurel grill ! Everything is absolutely exceptional. The staff is always super sweet, the food is to die for and the vibes are great. Cocktails also never miss !!! Definitely my new favorite restaurant in LA
Absolutely loved our anniversary dinner there tonight. Food & service were fantastic. Highly recommend starting with the Hot Bread - it's almost like mini Calzone. Laurel House salad, Mushroom Pizza and Spicy Vodka pasta were all very delicious. Good taste, presentation and quality. Great ambience for business or personal occasions, although relatively loud athmosphere to hold a longer conversation. We will be back!
Laurel Grill is a gem…laid-back vibe, seriously yummy food. We stopped by for a drink and snacks, the food felt fresh and seasonal, and the drinks were delicious. Service was relaxed but on point. Zero pretense, just great flavor and good energy.
Really delicious food. Friendly service. I don’t know why rice pilaf was so good but damn!! Also the wood fired bread was outstanding and so simple.
We went to the Laurel Grill for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant is newly built and has a fresh, upbeat vibe. It was fairly busy, but although we were told the wait would be 20–30 minutes, we were seated in about 15. While waiting, we relaxed near the outdoor seating area, which features gas fire pits—a nice touch on a cool LA evening. We were seated outside, and the gas heaters kept the space comfortably warm. For appetizers, we had the wood-fired bread stuffed with mozzarella and the bacon-wrapped dates—both were excellent. For our entrées, we tried the gnocchi, the brisket-dipped sandwich, and the ahi tuna frites. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. To finish, we shared the banana cream pie and apple pie with ice cream—both desserts were delicious and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the night. The overall atmosphere is lively yet laid-back—perfect for socializing while still feeling relaxed.
Grade A (90): Ordered the Caesars salad, pepperoni pizza (very good), brisket dip sandwich (ok) and the cheeseburger (not bad). We went around Culver City trying to find a nice unique place to try, seems they are mostly mediocre places here. This place has a good ambience, nicely constructed mostly wood everywhere and high ceilings, ratings were good, seemed to be in a central place. While the food is good, did not wow me. Service is very good, the pizza was made in a wood burning oven (although maintained heat with gas). If I'm in the area and need to eat, not necessarily need do dine, I would go again, but would not come out here for their food all the way from Pasadena that's for sure.
I went to Laurel Grill for a girls’ lunch and loved it! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the place is beautifully designed with both indoor and outdoor seating. My food was delicious, and the service was excellent—our waitress was very helpful and had such a positive attitude. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
The place is so nice! They have some outdoor seats at the entrance, but also a patio/balcony with the view. It looks really nice in the night. The inside is also super cool. There is a big bar in the middle going all around where yoh can find seats for drinks or eat. You can see the open kitchen. And they have a lot of tables with bigger ones for bigger parties. The atmosphere is really nice. It is not too loud inside, which is nice to notice. In terms of food, we tried the hot bread with cheese inside and the crispy mozzarela. It was small appetizers but we were curious to try. And, we were not disappointed. Great comfort food! For main courses, we tried a few things. But apparently, the caesar salad with salmon was delicious! The salmon was very tasty. I got the spicy vodka pasta, which were fine. A bit on the spicy side for me. We also got rhe ribeye and one of the pizza. We had no room for dessert, so that would be for a next time. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The place is so nice. The food is great and you can get some food for very decent price. Definitely a cool place to hang out and will need to come back to try more!

Came across Laurel Grill while browsing Resy for a new date night spot near WeHo, and wow was it just the right spot. It's vibey, has quirk artwork, a grand piano, couple patios overlooking the culver steps! The food and service were excellent!! Special shout out to Chelsea B. our server, for helping us thru the menu.. We got the BYO-handroll, Chicken wontons, Spicy Rig, fresh baked bread, all of which were decent sized portions and absolutely delicious! Laurel Grill is definitely going in our date night spots list, and we're eager to come back and try the salads, the BBQ ribs and the burgers..
I came here while traveling for work and was absolutely blown away. I manage an upscale restaurant and have spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, so my standards are high—but this was hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in nearly a decade. We sat at the bar, and from the moment we arrived, every single point of service was executed flawlessly. Jasmine and Grace were exceptional—genuinely warm, welcoming, intuitive, and polished. Their attention to detail and natural hospitality set the tone for the entire experience. Kamichi, the manager, was equally impressive—dapper, professional, and fully present on the floor. He checked in with intention, ensured everything ran seamlessly, and clearly leads by example. The strength of the service, culture, and execution speaks volumes about his leadership. The margarita pizza and the burger were outstanding—simple, elevated, and executed perfectly. I’ll be in town for a couple more months, and this will absolutely be a regular stop for me. I can’t wait to return many times before I leave. Experiences like this are rare, and this entire team should be incredibly proud of what they’re delivering.
Went to Laurel Grill with my family. The place is beautiful. Very spacious, very nice atmosphere, pleasant people working and a beautiful big piano waiting to be played (I'm assuming that happens in the evening time). We went for lunch. Didn't have to wait to be seated which was nice. I loved the brisket dip sandwich. My mom and brother in law didn't like the noodles or the flavor of the Asian chicken salad. My step father enjoyed his fish. The $9 bread and cheese dip were not impressive but the drinks were great! What I loved about this place was the service. They treated my senior citizens with respect and it was truly appreciated. What we didn't like, they removed and offered something else instead. I would definitely be going back as it's close to the house also and I want to check dinner and their desserts out very soon. Sidenote: check the bathrooms out with the heated seats and remote!! Loved it!!!
We parked across the street from the Culver Steps garage, which turned out to be the easiest option — reasonable rates, plenty of space, and a quick walk over. You can take the elevator up to the restaurant, which makes the whole place accessible, but we took the stairs. Going up in the evening felt almost cinematic: the steps are softly lit, the buildings glow around you, and Culver City has that nighttime energy that feels both urban and cozy. Inside, Laurel Grill is big, warm, and slightly dressy in the best way. The lighting is dim but elegant, the bar stretches across the room, and there’s a hum of people settling into conversations, date nights, and groups of friends meeting after work. Even though the space is huge, we still had a short wait and eventually sat at the bar — which ended up being perfectly comfortable. The service was lovely. We were checked on multiple times, glasses refilled, and never once felt unattended. We kept dinner simple: handmade pasta — fresh, flavorful. We also appreciated that the menu has good options for vegetarians. Between the pastas, salads, and sides, it didn’t feel like an afterthought. Drinks were reasonably priced for fancy LA :) The bar area does sit close to the doors, and since many of them stay open, it can get chilly on colder nights. If that bothers you, request a table away from the entrances or opt for a booth inside. The outdoor fire pits also looked beautiful and would be great on a more temperate evening. One little detail we loved: the restaurant decor includes classic Hollywood photos — Elvis and other vintage touches — which reminded us that Culver City is surrounded by studios. Overall, Laurel Grill is a great pick for a slightly elevated night out. The space is gorgeous, the food is solid, the service is warm. We would definitely return — maybe next time for a table and a slower dinner, or a cozy drink by the fire.
I’ve been a few times and always go If I Am in the mood for a solid drink. My favorite is the inverted vesper and also there are some other great ones. They have a full bar as well. I’ve been a range of times and the food has continued to improve and is solid. It can be enough to share or eat solo if you’re hungry. I recommend for a group of any size.
Culver City, Ca newcomer, Laurel Grill, sits atop The Culver Steps serving American classics in a beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown. Each dish we tried was full of flavor and cooked to our preference. Staff was attentive and friendly. A great option for date nights, friends night out or family gathering.
Laurel Grill was a fantastic spot to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is located in a prime area and boasts beautiful decor that adds to its charm. The outdoor dining space is perfect for either a relaxing meal or grabbing a drink. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with an open kitchen that adds a lively touch to the atmosphere. The staff was both professional and friendly, making us feel right at home. We started with drinks, having an Old Fashioned and a Margarita, both of which were great. For dinner, we tried the Culver Spicy Vodka Pasta and BBQ Ribs. While the pasta looked delicious, it lacked flavor and was a bit bland. On the other hand, the ribs were fantastic—tender, juicy, and practically falling off the bone. Unfortunately, they came out cold, but when we sent them back, they were quickly reheated and served properly. To finish, we had the apple pie for dessert, which was absolutely phenomenal—definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall, I’d recommend skipping the vodka pasta, but I’d definitely go back for the ribs. Despite a few minor hiccups, the overall experience was great, and the ambiance and service made up for the small issues.
I really enjoyed my time here. I love the set up of the restaurant. We sat in a booth and I loved the size of the ledge. We both were leaning there the entire time we ate. The service was great. Charlie was on it and super friendly. Really great person. The food was great. I love the diversity of the menu. I think I would try something different next time I am there. Everything was fresh and tasty but slightly under seasoned. Other than that the chocolate cake was FANTASTIC.
Our only complaint is the menu is not large enough. What they have is great and we were super happy. But only having gross American Cheese for a burger, well that is not real cheese. They could also have prime rib every day and not just on the weekends because, again, there are not enough choices. Maybe add another fish or pasta. I don't know but add something. The chef is the best, so I know he can make anything he wants. The service here is just amazing. We had the best server and then other servers came by just to make sure we had everything and were happy. They are also adorable. They know the menu well and I have not had this kind of great service in a while. We were happy campers. They have a counter with a full bar, which is first come, first served. You can make a reservation for the dinning area which is ever so comfortable. We went to dinner early so we had no wait at all and no reservation. The entire place inside and out is spotless, and the décor is wonderful. Even the outside is pretty. It is just a great place (get some darn cheddar for the love of God). The food we had was perfect. I had the starter fried calamari and a wonderful salad. We also had their cheese type bread which was not a hit with us, but it was fine. Next time we will just get a pizza instead. My husband had the best steak, cooked perfectly with grilled asparagus and a side of charred broccolini. He was in heaven. For dessert we shared a perfect chocolate cake. I really did not want to share, but I am a giver (again, add onto the menu). It was just so great. We were so happy. Parking is for a fee. The entire area is lovely and inviting. You will love this place.

Quick take on Laurel Grill: great vibe, especially on the patio at sunset or later in the evening. The staff is friendly (though a bit busy), and the menu is small but solid. The standout is definitely the prime rib, only available on weekends. I’m usually not a big fan of prime rib, but our waitress recommended it and she was right. Honestly, it’s probably the best I’ve ever had. The patio has plenty of heat lamps, and you can even bring your small dog, which I love. The downside is the limited menu. Food is cooked well but not particularly memorable, and no plating. One heads-up: if you park in the P2 lot at Culver Steps, make sure to get your ticket validated. Otherwise, it’s $7 for the first hour. The restaurant didn’t mention this, which was pretty frustrating and left a sour note on the night.
Food: Good food, nothing too exceptional or worth the price. Drinks were good though. Service: Not the best service, servers just seemed like they wanted to get rid of us. A server even interrupted me mid eating to take my plate away and get me to move my utensils from the plate… Atmosphere: the setting and vibe is the only saving grace of this restaurant. Nested above the culver steps and beautiful street, it’s a lovely place to have a dinner date.
