Stopped by here and had a really tasty lunchtime meal, albeit very late in the afternoon (our fault). Fish was perfect - nice size portion on delicious colcannon mash. Pie full of succulent, moist beef. Good pint of Tim Taylor. Attentive service, pub crowded & busy, which is always good to see, even at that late time, no hurrying to get next table in. Parking on site, but as so popular, you may have to park near the actual Trigger Pond!

Lovely experience. Came here with my children (1 & 5) and grandparents for a sunday roast. Service was amazing, food was perfect- food was excellent quality and portions were generous. We were celebrating a birthday and staff were very accommodating with letting us sing happy birthday with our cake. Overall we would highly reccomend.

Had a meal with friends here a few weeks ago. Great food, attentive service without intruding, it’s not a cheap meal, but felt we got good value, as we all really enjoyed our food, burgers, sea bass and fish and chips all good!!!

Celebrated a birthday with their Christmas menu - everything was delicious, and tasted like more! Also, they have a Husband Cresh which is magnificent - wives may just drop their husbands off when they are in the way, and pick them up later after paying the bar tab. Hoping to receive this for Christmas!!

Just had a lovely meal at Trigger Pond, staff were amazing, efficient, friendly and worked so hard making the experience special. On the table next to us, as soon as the guests left the cushions were all plumped up and floor cleaned by dustpan and brush and any marks removed. I can recommend the Ham, Egg and Chips & the burger looked scrumptious too. Lovely July evening for the 2 for 1 Fish Friday and sat in tge garden area Thank you Team.

We were a table of 13 and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and we had some specific requests and everything was perfect. I absolutely recommend you visit and you'll have a fabulous time.

The Trigger Pond is a lovely, perfect country pub. We visited on a Thursday evening for dinner, it was nicely bustling with other diners, and we've heard it is very popular and gets busy over weekends. The staff were very friendly and just the right level of attentive. The food was top class, the menu varied. We had the fish and chips, perfectly cooked and lightly battered haddock. Nice selection of beers on tap too. Highly recommended!!

Lovely place to eat, we took our four month old baby as well & the staff were very accommodating. The setting was very pretty with flowers & comfy seating & cushions which added to the atmosphere. Drinks were served quickly & prettily! Food was perfect, a good mix of traditional pub food with some added extras. We also liked the fact it was dog friendly!

We stopped here for a sunday dinner on our way home and they managed to fit us in. The pub itself is beautiful and very stylish with great decor throughout, a beautiful garden and the nicest toilets. The staff were friendly, attentive and service was great. The roast dinners were superb with good portions and the yorkshire puds and roast potatoes were perfect. We had a selection of puddings all of which were delicious too. We live an hour from here but would travel back just to eat here again. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for lunch after a flying lesson nearby. We were able to walk-in and order food but we were lucky- book in advance if you want to eat here! Car park and spaces at the front but expect you have to park elsewhere at peak time. Beer garden is quite large so it was easy to get a table. Service was great and good banter. Food was absolutely lovely - the burgers were delicious and the mango&passion fruit cheesecake is out of this world:)

We discovered this beautiful restaurant after Bicester Outlet. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were extremely welcoming with a genuine service mindset.

After shopping in Bicester Village, less than 10 minute drive to get there, away from the crowds - perfect spot for lunch and a catch up. Staff were all impeccable in their service, excellent food and drinks at great prices. Cosy inside with nice decor, garden looks like it would be lovely in the summer months too. 100% recommend. Thanks :-)

Was just brilliant! From the service to the food! 10/10 from us! Menu has a great selection of meals and a lovely variety. Portions are generous and equal the value of the meals. Staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is to much to ask for. Cant wait to be back

We went here late Friday afternoon for their 1/2 price Fish & Chips. We were so impressed. Firstly, I’m a vegetarian, so eat dairy and I really wanted veggie fish and chips as the husband was having F&C. They have halloumi on the menu here, so I barefaced asked if they’d do some halloumi in batter so that I could have similar to the Mr. They agreed and when it came out it looked amazing and tasted really delicious, very naughty, but hey, it was Friday and looked like Fish and Chips and bonus, 1/2 price! This traditional pub just outside Bicester is absolutely wonderful, so friendly and cosy, especially with the wood burner lit which oozes the ambiance needed on a crisp Autumnal afternoon/evening. We were looked after impeccably by the staff, especially our lovely waiting person, she couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was worthwhile. I’d come here every Friday if my waist line could take it!

Atmosphere and service superb as was the food. So good I'm going back tomorrow. The Thai red fish curry is fantastic. As is the signature starter of Angel wings. 😊👏 Dishes are Cod Loin and Thai red fish curry.

Had been meaning to try the trigger pond for ages after constantly getting good word of mouth reviews. Finally headed over for a Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint one bit. Lovely pub with lots of room inside (but make sure you book for a Sunday) and a huge garden for the summer. The food is all fantastic and family friendly, the ultimate roast is exactly as the name tells you. To top off the food, they also have a good gin and beer selection and the staff are always happy, helpful and chearful. I can't comment on the puddings as always way too full, but they looked amazing. We'll be back soon.

I am vegetarian and asked for batterd haloumi and chips, with mushy peas, chef was only to pleased to help as was not on the menu

I have visited here several times over the years and with my family visiting this bank holiday weekend, it was a very easy decision to book here. The service here is excellent, from booking a table, the warm welcome at the bar and the friendly attentive service throughout our visit and our meals. The atmosphere is superb and you can really feel how everyone is enjoying their time here. The food was amazing, the quality and presentation of it just excellent. We shared a baked Camembert with toasted sourdough and chutney and it was just superb. Thanks to all the team for making such a wonderful evening and hopefully be back soon.

What a fantastic place! We took my mum here for her birthday meal, completely on a whim after seeing a Facebook post—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and relaxed, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. The owner/manager even took the time to tell us about some lovely bank holiday activities for kids - like making flower crowns and potting bulbs - all free of charge. She was great! It was such a thoughtful touch, and our little boy absolutely loved it! It’s rare these days to see places go that extra mile rather than relying on nothing… or the same tired ideas. As for the food, it was excellent. Nothing pretentious, just delicious, well-cooked dishes that were beautifully presented and served with care. The place itself is bigger than it looks and has such a charming feel. The staff and management truly deserve praise. Great job all around - we’ll definitely be back!

Stumbled upon this gem of a pub through Google. I was able to walk in and get a table. I was met with a warm, friendly welcome. The pub has a great atmosphere and the food is exceptional. I was in the area for work and the visit made being away from home a pleasure. Super place I wish I lived nearer!

Such a lovely hidden gem, away from the main roads and bustle of Bicester. We’ve been a few times and the food and service is always really good. Love the different areas for eating, the spacious garden is a real sun trap and so lovely in the summer!

Great local pub with tasty food and friendly service. We had the pie of the day and bangers and mash, both bang on flavour! Deserts were also fabulous. Staff were super attentive and helpful, would certainly recommend if you are around Oxfordshire and looking for a local restaurant with tradition and personality! ++ points for the funny toilet signs #sizematters

Great pub for the area. Food was delicious, portions generous. Downside is that it’s a local pub, but with London prices, so loses points on the value for money front. Decor could also use some improvement, random assortment of everything. Generally speaking, would visit again!

Lovely village pub with large gardens with many seating options. Friday evening in June so busy. Three of us all had the bacon cheeseburger. Looked amazing but half way through eating it I found it was overly salty. Shame as everything else was great. Expect lots of small children.

Really nice country pub with an excellent interior space and lovely quirky garden .....food and service was very good too ! Pity there was not a greater selection of real ales to choose from but that aside definitely a pub I would happily visit again .....shame it's so far from home !

Fab little find off the M40 when you're in need of emergency food. Arrived 5 mins before the kitchen shut and within 10 mins, we had two fresh, hot, tasty meals. Burger was good, and fish and chips was excellent! Quirky, rustic, quaint. Give it a go. You won't regret it.

Lovely location, plenty of tables and seating, very limited parking though. Staff were friendly but service diminished as stay went on begun very attentive but plates weren't collected, had to come to the bar to order more food despite table service, and had to ask for the bill twice.

Nice pub, good parking. Two of us arrived at 4 pm roughly for a bite to eat and a couple drinks. Was told food isn't served till 5 pm, no problem, said we can wait and took a table with drinks. Come 5 pm, no one brought us a menu or was around to ask for one. The place was very quiet, with some folk sitting at the bar and only us waiting for food by the looks of it. Ten minutes later I had to get up and go ask for menus at the bar, where 3 staff were just standing. When we did get our food the waiter didn't bring any cutlery, so we then had to ask again for that. Maybe he went to go get it after putting the plates down, but he didn't say anything and disappeared, so we just had to wait and wonder. None of that is a huge deal, and doesn't bother me much. What does bother me was the bill. £71, for two mains (the pie and a veg curry) and a shared dessert (key lime). We had one gin & tonic, a coke and a beer. The food was decent, no complaints, but pretty expensive for what it was. The coke was £4.10...not far off the price of the beer! They also added a service charge to the bill automatically, which I think must have been 20% (was £12). I could have disputed it, but it's just aggro and certainly not a position they should put me in by default. We just were two people at a time when the pub was empty, not a larger group, and the service wasn't exactly good.

We have been to this pub so many times in the past 5 years and had a great experience. I can only think that it has changed hands. I recommended it for a group of 8 ladies for a birthday meal. Service wasn’t great, some of the food was cold but we were having a great time just enjoying each others company. However the worst experience came after we had paid the bill, each by card/ contactless. The waitress kept insisting we had not paid enough and demanding that we pay another £126 divided between us. We knew we had paid the right amount so fortunately kept suggesting it must be an issue their end despite the fact she returned to the table several times demanding that we pay. In the end it was a problem with their card machine but if we hadn’t been so sure they would have taken an extra £126 off us. It was a really unpleasant experience executed in front of everyone in the restaurant but worse was to come as when it was suggested that an apology might be offered that was flatly refused and the manageress (?) accused us of lying about what the waitress said and said we weren’t welcome in the pub again. We are 8 professional or retired ladies and we left the pub incredulous as to how the evening had ended so badly and how we had been treated so poorly. I would love to return to the Trigger Pond again but would be very nervous of doing so.

I really do not like leaving negative feedback, but I wanted to be honest about my experience and hopefully help the team improve. My visit today was not great. The roast dinner was disappointing because the roast potatoes were quite hard with no seasoning and the Yorkshire puddings were burnt. Service was also very slow which I understand on a busy Sunday, but one of our side dishes never arrived. We also asked for the dessert menu and were told it would be brought over, but after waiting around ten minutes with no sign of it we decided to just go and pay at the front. The place has potential and a lovely setting, but a few improvements to both the food and the service would make a big difference.

Went for dinner for my dads birthday dinner. I have had multiple people tell me how good the food is here and was extremely disappointed. They had to shorten the menu due to a problem in the kitchen, which was fine. But it meant we couldn’t have the things we had planned on having. We ordered a starter of bread and oil/ vinegar and olives. Olives were really nice, but the bread tasted funny…. Was meant to be focaccia but really didn’t taste like it. I had the pizza and so did my partner, it was a bit gummy and very oily and greasy not a normal amount as it was dripping off. The chips were not nice at all pure oil and no potato flavour. We had the Cajun chicken burger and beef burger, chicken had no flavour at all for a ‘ Cajun’ one. Wanted to complain but didn’t, wish we had when we saw the price and £20! Service added when they had forgotten our water and had to ask twice for the music to be turned down as it was so loud I couldn’t hear anyone talking. The garlic bread was bland and tasted like it was a microwave meal. It was below average and I was very disappointed. Safe to say I won’t be coming back again.
