Food and service was amazing! I got their chicken burrito and a house margarita. The burrito was served wet and was very large. There isn't anything in the burrito other than chicken and beans, but it's very good. The chicken was very flavorful and not dry. The margarita appeared to mace mostly from lime juice, so it was more sour than sweet, which I really like, I can't stand super sweet margaritas. Our server was excellent and very attentive to our table. We actually had a fair amount of requests for her and not matter what we asked she smiled and knocked it out fast. Will DEFINITELY be eating here again. I saw a lot of other tables ordering the tortas, in which the server said that was one of their popular dishes, so I'll be trying that next time.
Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Big Bear! Great views of the lake with a large indoor patio. Chef Juanito and staff crank out some bomb servings of traditional flavors. Located next to the lake docks pet and family friendly environment.
I am so glad we tried this restaurant! We were looking for a Mexican restaurant to grab some lunch, and we had already tried Hacienda, and we happened to stumble upon this one while trying to find Public Parking areas and gave it a go! It was much easier to find parking here compared to the little squished alley parking areas around the village. We were seated immediately. We were given a large basket of fresh, warm, chips and 2 bowls of salsa that were SO good. The food was incredible and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. We got 2 Large Cadillac margaritas that were delicious! We spent close to $180 at Hacienda for a family of 4 with drinks, and we spent about $130 here ordering similar items. We honestly preferred the food, salsa, and drinks here! I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant! We will absolutely be visiting again whenever we travel into Big Bear.
What a nice little joint. Really pretty view of the lake and a nice semi covered outdoor beautiful wooden patio with large TV for sports viewing. I started with the margarita flight which had mango, lime, blue and pomegranate, and they were all delicious. The mango had a nice spicy rim on it and tasted just like mango. The pomegranate tasted just like pomegranate and had a nice spicy rim as well. The lime tasted just like your Ordinary margarita but still good. The blue had to be my favorite because of the decadent rock, blue sugar rim on it. And it’s so pretty to look at. Looks like the Caribbean ocean. My waitress brought me out some warm chips that were sturdy and tasty with some nice medium heat salsa. Then I ordered the taco salad which had a beautiful flaky shell that was almost like a Napoleon dessert without the sweets. Inside was some lovely seasoned shredded chicken a bottom layer of refried beans, two large dollops each of sour cream and guacamole and all the other accoutrements that go in a taco salad. Just a lovely visit. My server was very attentive and accommodating.
I got the chicken fajitas. A little on the dry side for the chicken, but still good. My husband got the molcajete. It's for two... and it's HUGE! Loo the pictures don't do it justice. It is big! Definitely a meal to share. We both went home with a lot of leftovers. The service was great as well.
The food was excellent with the exception of the Albondiga soup, which was just ok. The chips came out hot and fresh, the guacamole was a huge serving and very tasty. The molcajete is pricy however, it's a big portion because two of my friends weren't able to finish it. The service was also excellent they check on us about every 10 minutes or less and they were all very friendly. I will definitely be back.
Really nice place to eat at. Environment was good and the service was amazing. Definitely, will come back when visiting again.
I would say the top Mexican food on the mountain. The other top one would be Aztec. Not fantastic food, but better than average. I had a enchilada and shredded beef taco combo plate. The beans were average, spanish rice was good. My wife had the chicken flautas, good plenty of chicken, but not excellent, chicken wss a little tough. The waitress was very good.
I have to say, they have the best Nachos I’ve ever had. Sooo sooo delicious. I would’ve come back just for the nachos. But I also have to say — the menudo, one of my favorite Mexican dishes, is really bad here.😂😂the meat smells too bad, so my friend couldn’t even drink the soup.
We ate at Laguna Grill twice during our vacation – that alone says a lot! The Mexican food is authentic, the portions are generous, and everything was beautifully prepared. I especially recommend the homemade milkshakes and the enchiladas – absolutely delicious! The outdoor seating area is great, even for larger groups. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Never been this angry at a restaurant before. Took my family to dinner with a toddler. No one greeted us for over 20 minutes. Took over an hour for food. A large party that was seated after us got their order taken before and food first. I asked for the check, it never came. Had to go to the front to pay. Food was awesome, but will never go back because of how poorly we were treated.
It took us about a half hour to get our order taken. The party of 10 in who came in 5-10 minutes after us got their order taken first and got their food 10 minutes before us. We didn't have anyone come to the table to refill our drinks. When we told them about our poor service no one cared.
We were excited to try this place since it presents itself as authentic Mexican with “good food and good times.” Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I asked if the orange juice was fresh and was told yes, but it turned out to be boxed juice. I was happy to see machaca on the menu, but when I politely confirmed if it was authentic, the waitress snapped that if I wanted “real Mexican food,” I should go to Mexico. That response really set the tone. In the end, we just had a standard American breakfast, with pancakes that tasted old. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for, and we won’t be returning.
Hands down worst Mexican food I've had in my entire life. Service was fine. Went here for lunch on 10/15/2021. We wanted to go here because they had a molcajete on the menu, but at $44.95, we passed. Ordered the #11 carne asada plate ($15.75) that came with rice and beans. No joke, the rice was cool. There wasn't any flavor to the food whatsoever. I ended up leaving the rice and beans and trying to make a taco out of the tough, not even hot, carne asada. I have Celiac disease and tried to pick what looked like it wouldn't have gluten and I still got sick afterward. Even if I didn't have Celiac, the food was so tasteless and cool rice is weird. So it would still be 1 star. My husband had the #24 chile rellanos plate for $13.25 and he said it was tasteless.
