I have lived in the area for over 5 years and never stopped in. I will be stopping in again. Chicken fried steak like Momma made. It's oil country and the carpet is a little dirty, but you can't keep carpet clean in oil country on a rainy day. Good food, good service.

Great burgers , I myself had the Granny Burger with cheese ,bacon,and jalapeños. That burger was huge and with the homemade French fries they have you can't go wrong . My coworkers had hamburger Steaks and they said it was great. So next time you are through Big Lake Texas stop in and enjoy a great meal . P.S They also have a lunch buffet but you better get there early or it will disappear!

We had a large group probably 12-15 people. Service was fast and so was the food and we ordered a variety of things. The ranch burger was very good and so were the chicken nuggets!

We had the best hospitality and customer service experience ever at this small town restaurant, the food was brought to our table in a timely order and quite tasty as well; the waitress was polite and friendly and truly deserves a raise and was very knowledgeable about the menu items of what they offer and the entire atmosphere was noteworthy incredible and if we ever come back to this area in the near future, we absolutely will visit again! ❤️💕😍🥰😁🙏

Reviews said small plates?!?!? Portions were huge! Chicken fried steak was homemade, not frozen. Spanish steak was awesome as well! Staff was friendly! Place was clean! Good little salad bar. Perfect small town diner!

Love these throw back cafes. Steak fingers were freshly hand breaded as well as the onion rings. Got an old fashioned salad bar with my meal. And get this-it has real cut carrots. Not baby carrots like all those other lazy salad bars. This cafe also had the trifecta for me. Sugar in a glass dispenser, Parkay butter and A-1 sauce on the table. Oh, can't forget to add that they had business ads on their menu. Love it. What else could you ask for?

Nice people but for my taste the food is very bland. I got a bacon cheese burger and homemade onion rings. Sadly no seasonings no flavor just bland food.

Restaurant was pretty clean staff was nice although our waitress got our order wrong food came fairly quick small portions high price don't think I'll ever stopping in here anytime soon again if I can help it..... Most memorable thing about my experience was the fact that other than taking our order someone else bringing our food we never saw our waitress again had to go and ask for the check needless to say there was no tip left

I don’t normally give bad reviews but I feel obligated to after what my experience was like today. I will say the staff is very friendly and the salad bar was good, but the interior is very dirty looking and our entrees were almost inedible. Stains all over the ceiling and floor and nothing appears to have been updated since the 70’s (including the stuffy chairs) but I told myself don’t let that judge the quality of the food. My husband and I didn’t want to be rude but we couldn’t finish our meals. I had the steak fingers which breading tasted like cardboard and steak interior very tough to eat. The potato I ordered came out by itself. No butter, sour cream, or cheese. I did request some and the nice waitress did provide me that. My husband had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. He is not a picky eater but he was concerned when he tried the sauce because he said it tasted like they microwaved sour cream and poured it on the enchiladas and topped it with cheddar cheese. We couldn’t finish our meals. I feel bad leaving a review because of how nice the service was, but it made us sick after. It really hurt to spend the $30 because we didn’t enjoy anything but the salads and we have felt bad all night. I would suggest to the owner and/or management to update their recipes and elevate the quality of the food because there is potential - and to over time fix the ceiling stains, order new chairs, and get new carpeting.

Over priced and badly cooked food. I ordered catfish and I asked if it was seasoned. The lady assured me it was. Come to find out it was a 50/50 mixture of cornmeal and flour. That's not seasoning. My food came with a salad and even though I didn't order from the buffet I had to get up and get my own salad. All that for $19. And it came with horribly cooked fries

Eehhhh, I'm pretty sure burgers can be done way much more delicious in ur own home. The tea is made with tap water and not filtered water. Very very dark tea but not taste worthy trust me. I could've been told bout the special for the day instead of me looking up at the door on my way out. But the food people make at home is way more delicious than theirs. I'm sorry but I am a serious critic.
